Enhanced secondary pollution offset reduction of primary emissions during COVID-19 lockdown in China显示文摘To control the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus(COVID-19),China imposed nationwide restrictions on the movement of its population(lockdown)after the Chinese New Year of 2020,leading to large reductions in economic activities and associated emissions.Despite such large decreases in primary pollution, there were nonetheless several periods of heavy haze pollution in eastern China, raising questions about the well-established relationship between human activities and air quality. Here, using comprehensive measurements and modeling,we show that the haze during the COVID lockdown was driven by enhancements of secondary pollution. In particular, large decreases in NOx emissions from transportation increased ozone and nighttime NO_(3)radical formation, and these increases in atmospheric oxidizing capacity in turn facilitated the formation of secondary particulate matter. Our results, afforded by the tragic natural experiment of the COVID-19 pandemic, indicate that haze mitigation depends upon a coordinated and balanced strategy for controlling multiple pollutants. | Xin Huang Aijun Ding Jian Gao Bo Zheng Derong Zhou Ximeng Qi Rong Tang Jiaping Wang Chuanhua Ren Wei Nie Xuguang Chi Zheng Xu Liangduo Chen Yuanyuan Li Fei Che Nini Pang Haikun Wang Dan Tong Wei Qin Wei Cheng Weijing Liu Qingyan Fu Baoxian Liu Fahe Chai Steven JDavis Qiang Zhang Kebin He | 2021 | National Science Review2021,8,2: | 47
Efficient large-universe multi-authority ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption with white-box traceability显示文摘Traceable multi-authority ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption(CP-ABE) is a practical encryption method that can achieve user traceability and fine-grained access control simultaneously. However, existing traceable multi-authority CP-ABE schemes have two main limitations that prevent them from practical applications. First, these schemes only support small universe: the attributes must be fixed at system setup and the attribute space is restricted to polynomial size. Second, the schemes are either less expressive(the access policy is limited to 'AND gates with wildcard') or inefficient(the system is constructed in composite order bilinear groups). To address these limitations, we present a traceable large universe multi-authority CP-ABE scheme, and further prove that it is statically secure in the random oracle model.Compared with existing traceable multi-authority CP-ABE schemes, the proposed scheme has four advantages. First, the attributes are not fixed at setup and the attribute universe is not bounded to polynomial size. Second, the ciphertext polices can be expressed as any monotone access structures. Third, the proposed scheme is constructed in prime order groups, which makes this scheme more efficient than those in composite order bilinear groups. Finally, the proposed scheme requires neither a central authority nor an identity table for tracing. | Kai ZHANG Hui LI Jianfeng MA Ximeng LIU | 2018 | Science China(Information Sciences)2018,61,3: | 10
Low-Complexity Secure Network Coding Against Wiretapping Using Intra/Inter-generation Coding显示文摘Existing solutions against wiretapping attacks for network coding either bring significant bandwidth overhead or incur a high computational complexity. In order to reduce the security overhead of the existing solutions for securing network coding,a novel securing network coding paradigm is presented relying on two coding models:intra-generation coding and inter-generation coding. The basic idea to secure network coding using intra-generation coding is to limit the encryption operations for each generation, and then subject the scrambled and the remaining original source vectors to a linear transformation. This method is then generalized seamlessly using inter-generation coding by further exploiting the algebraic structure of network coding. We show that the proposed schemes have properties of low-complexity security, little bandwidth consumption, and high efficiency in integrating with the existing security techniques effectively. | LIU Guangjun LIU Binyue LIU Ximeng LI Fang GUO Wangmei | 2015 | China Communications2015,12,6: | 9
Unfolding the fast neutron spectra of a BC501A liquid scintillation detector using GRAVEL method显示文摘Accurate knowledge of the neutron energy spectra is useful in basic research and applications. The overall procedure of measuring and unfolding the fast neutron energy spectra with BC501 A liquid scintillation detector is described. The recoil proton spectrum of 241Am-Be neutrons was obtained experimentally. With the NRESP7 code, the response matrix of detector was simulated.Combining the recoil proton spectrum and response matrix, the unfolding of neutron spectra was performed by GRAVEL iterative algorithm. A MatLab program based on the GRAVEL method was developed. The continuous neutron spectrum of 241Am-Be source and monoenergetic neutron spectrum of D-T source have been unfolded successfully and are in good agreement with their standard reference spectra. The unfolded 241Am-Be spectrum are more accurate than the spectra unfolded by artificial neural networks in recent years. | CHEN YongHao CHEN XiMeng LEI JiaRong AN Li ZHANG XiaoDong SHAO JianXiong ZHENG Pu WANG XinHua | 2014 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2014,57,10: | 3

Positron emission tomography detector performance with different crystal pitches显示文摘Aims:In this work,we evaluated the performance of three pitches positron emission tomography(PET)detectors for building a high-resolution small-animal PET imaging experimental platform. Methods:The evaluation of PET detectors includes twodimensional crystal identification, energy resolution, and crystal look-up table. The nuclear instrumentation module and PXI data acquisition(DAQ)system were both used to obtain flood images. The energy spectrum of the Na-22 source was measured.PET detectors of 2.0 and 1.6 mm pitches used in our present experiment were composed of lutetium yttrium oxyorthosilicate(LYSO)crystals directly coupled to position-sensitive photomultiplier tubes(PSPMTs).The 1.3-mm pitch detector comprises a LYSO crystal,a tapered light-guide,and a PSPMT.The crystal sizes of the detectors were a 10×10 array of 2.0×2.0×10 mm^(3) crystals,a 10×10 array of 1.6×1.6×10 mm^(3) crystals, and an 18×18 array of 1.3×1.3×10 mm^(3) crystals, respectively.Due to the lower sampling frequency of the DAQ system,a spline interpolation algorithm was introduced in the signal waveform to reconstruct the peak values. Results:The experimental results indicated that all three PET detector crystals could be clearly identified.A detailed analysis demonstrated that the key characteristic full width at half maximum(FWHM)values of the crystals profile could reach 0.46±0.03,0.32±0.03,and 0.21±0.02 mm,while the crystal average energy resolutions were 16.8%±1.76%,20.1%±2.24%,and 31.5%±3.76%,which correspond to pitches of 2.0-,1.6-,and 1.3-mm,respectively.Conclusions:The PET detector modules of LYSO crystal arrays could be potentially used in the small-animal PET imaging applications and are promising to achieve submillimeter PET images. | LinGe Tong YaMing Fan Ming Dong Liang Zhao ZhongXing Li YingGuo Li TianQuan Wang YongZhi Yin XiMeng Chen | 2017 | Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2017,1,2: | 1

A Verification-Based Approach to Evaluate Software Architecture Evolution显示文摘As the development and wide usage of Software architecture(SA),SA evolution becomes one of the hotspots of current research in modern software engineering domain. Most current researches concentrate on the modeling of SA evolution and lack the verification and evaluation of SA evolution. We proposed a verificationbased approach to evaluate SA evolution. The basic process includes:1)using Unified modeling language(UML)sequence diagram to model the interaction of components and study different types of evolution in practical examples;2)using SPIN-based model checking to model and verify SA evolution;3)comparing various verification outcomes and analyzing the influence of SA evolution on SA correctness and temporal properties. Both theory analysis and an experiment on a real evolution example from Model-view controller(MVC)to Spring web MVC(SWMVC)show that the verification-based approach to evaluate SA is significant. | LI Bixin LIAO Li YU Ximeng | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Electronics2017,26,3: | 1
Comparing the effects of three decoctions for coronavirus disease 2019 on severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2-related toll-like receptors-mediated inflammations显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To compare the anti-inflammatory effects of three decoctions for coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)[Qingfei Paidu Tang(清肺排毒汤),QF;Huashi Baidu Fang(化湿败毒方),HS;Xuanfei Baidu Fang(宣肺败毒方),XF]in parallelly experimental models by using severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)-related toll-like receptors(TLRs)ligands and its spike(S)protein as stimulators.METHODS:RAW264.7 macrophages were used to investigate the effects of three decoctions on the inflammations induced by R848,poly(I:C),lipopolysaccharide(LPS),as well as SARS-CoV-2 S protein,in vitro.Mouse endotoxemia model was used for evaluating their anti-inflammatory actions in vivo. The levels of monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1),interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factorα(TNF-α),and interferon-β(IFN-β)were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.RESULTS:Three decoctions could decrease supernatant IL-6,MCP-1,nitric oxide(NO)and TNF-αto varying degrees in activated macrophages.Meanwhile, they did not increase the level of antiviral cytokine IFN-βinduced by TLR3 and TLR4 ligands, but rather suppressed it,suggesting that externally administrated type I interferons(IFN-Is)may be needed for the severe COVID-19 cases characterized by deficient IFN-Is.In mouse endotoxemia model, all three decoctions could suppress serum pro-inflammatory cytokines, but only QF could relieve hypothermia and antagonize diarrhea.CONCLUSIONS:Collectively, our study compared, for the first time, the effects of three decoctions on SARSCoV-2-related TLRs-mediated inflammations. In vitro, three decoctions exert similar suppressive effects on inflammatory cytokines induced by SARS-CoV-2-related TLRs ligands,as well as S protein. In vivo,QF possesses the strongest effects compared with HS and XF.These findings may provide not only experimental basis for the clinical use of three decoctions, but also a rationale for the combination therapy with IFN-Is. | LI Ximeng KANG Yuan LI Wenjing LIU Zhuangzhuang XU Zhenlu ZHANG Xiaoyu CAI Runlan GAO Yuan QI Yun | 2023 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,1: | 1
Chevron-type graphene nanoribbons with a reduced energy band gap:Solution synthesis, scanning tunneling microscopy and electrical characterization显示文摘Graphene nanoribbons(GNRs)attract a growing interest due to their tunable physical properties and promise for device applications.A variety of atomically precise GNRs have recently been synthesized by on-surface and solution approaches. While on-surface GNRs can be conveniently visualized by scanning tunneling microscopy(STM),and their electronic structure can be probed by scanning tunneling spectroscopy(STS),such characterization remains a great challenge for the solution-synthesized GNRs.Here,we report solution synthesis and detailed STM/STS characterization of atomically precise GNRs with a meandering shape that are structurally related to chevron GNRs but have a reduced energy band gap.The ribbons were synthesized by Ni0-mediated Yamamoto polymerization of specially designed molecular precursors using triflates as the leaving groups and oxidative cyclodehydrogenation of the resulting polymers using Scholl reaction. The ribbons were deposited onto III-V semiconducting InAs(110)substrates by a dry contact transfer technique.High-resolution STM/STS characterization not only confirmed the GNR geometry, but also revealed details of electronic structure including energy states, electronic band gap,as well as the spatial distribution of the local density of states. The experimental STS band gap of GNRs is about 2 eV,which is very close to 2.35 eV predicted by the density functional theory simulations with GW correction, indicating a weak screening effect of InAs(110)substrate.Furthermore,several aspects of GNR-InAs(110)substrate interactions were also probed and analyzed, including GNR tunable transparency, alignment to the substrate, and manipulations of GNR position by the STM tip.The weak interaction between the GNRs and the InAs(110)surface makes InAs(110)an ideal substrate for investigating the intrinsic properties of GNRs.Because of the reduced energy band gap of these ribbons, the GNR thin films exhibit appreciably high electrical conductivity and on/off ratios of about 10 in field-effect transistor measurements, suggesting their promise for device applications. | Ximeng Liu Gang Li Alexey Lipatov Tao Sun Mohammad Mehdi Pour Narayana R.Aluru Joseph W.Lyding Alexander Sinitskii | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,6: | 0

Bioinformatics analysis of SARS-CoV-2 infectionassociated immune injury and therapeutic prediction for COVID-19显示文摘Background:Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 is a highly contagious viral infection, without any available targeted therapies. The high mortality rate of COVID-19 is speculated to be related to immune damage. Methods:In this study, clinical bioinformatics analysis was conducted on transcriptome data of coronavirus infection. Results:Bioinformatics analysis revealed that the complex immune injury induced by coronavirus infection provoked dysfunction of numerous immune-related molecules and signaling pathways, including immune cells and toll-like receptor cascades.Production of numerous cytokines through the Th17 signaling pathway led to elevation in plasma levels of cytokines(including IL6,NF-kB,and TNF-a)followed by concurrent inflammatory storm, which mediates the autoimmune response.Several novel medications seemed to display therapeutic effects on immune damage associated with coronavirus infection. Conclusions:This study provided insights for further large-scale studies on the target therapy on reconciliation of immunological damage associated with COVID-19. | Haomin Zhang Haoran Chen Jundong Zhang Ximeng Chen Bin Guo Peng Zhi Zhuoyang Li Geliang Liu Bo Yang Xiaohua Chi Yixing Wang Feng Cao Jun Ren Xuechun Lu | 2021 | Emergency and Critical Care Medicine2021,1,1: | 0

Response of organic aerosol characteristics to emission reduction in Yangtze River Delta region显示文摘Organic aerosol(OA)is a major component of atmospheric particulate matter(PM)with complex composition and formation processes influenced by various factors.Emission reduction can alter both precursors and oxidants which further affects secondary OA formation. Here we provide an observational analysis of secondary OA(SOA)variation properties in Yangtze River Delta(YRD)of eastern China in response to large scale of emission reduction during Chinese New Year(CNY)holidays from 2015 to 2020,and the COVID-19 pandemic period from January to March,2020.We found a 17%increase of SOA proportion during the COVID lockdown. The relative enrichment of SOA is also found during multi-year CNY holidays with dramatic reduction of anthropogenic emissions. Two types of oxygenated OA(OOA)influenced by mixed emissions and SOA formation were found to be the dominant components during the lockdown in YRD region. Our results highlight that these emission-reduction-induced changes in organic aerosol need to be considered in the future to optimize air pollution control measures. | Jinbo Wang Jiaping Wang Wei Nie Xuguang Chi Dafeng Ge Caijun Zhu Lei Wang Yuanyuan Li Xin Huang Ximeng Qi Yuxuan Zhang Tengyu Liu Aijun Ding | 2023 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2023,17,9: | 0

Security and Privacy in Solar Insecticidal Lamps Internet of Things:Requirements and Challenges显示文摘Solar insecticidal lamps(SIL) can effectively control pests and reduce the use of pesticides. Combining SIL and Internet of Things(IoT) has formed a new type of agricultural IoT,known as SIL-IoT, which can improve the effectiveness of migratory phototropic pest control. However, since the SIL is connected to the Internet, it is vulnerable to various security issues. These issues can lead to serious consequences, such as tampering with the parameters of SIL, illegally starting and stopping SIL,etc. In this paper, we describe the overall security requirements of SIL-IoT and present an extensive survey of security and privacy solutions for SIL-IoT. We investigate the background and logical architecture of SIL-IoT, discuss SIL-IoT security scenarios, and analyze potential attacks. Starting from the security requirements of SIL-IoT we divide them into six categories, namely privacy, authentication, confidentiality, access control, availability, and integrity. Next, we describe the SIL-IoT privacy and security solutions, as well as the blockchain-based solutions. Based on the current survey, we finally discuss the challenges and future research directions of SIL-IoT. | Qingsong Zhao Lei Shu Kailiang Li Mohamed Amine Ferrag Ximeng Liu Yanbin Li | 2024 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2024,11,1: | 0
