1The Reference Genome of Tea Plant and Resequencing of 81 Diverse Accessions Provide Insights into Its Genome Evolution and Adaptation显示文摘Tea plant is an important economic crop,which is used to produce the world's oldest and most widely consumed tea beverages.Here,we present a high-quality reference genome assembly of the tea plant(Camellia sinensis var.sinensis)consisting of 15 pseudo-chromosomes.LTR retrotransposons(LTR-RTs)account for 70.38%of the genome,and we present evidence that LTR-RTS play critical roles in genome size expansion and the transcriptional diversification of tea plant genes through preferential insertion in promoter regions and introns.Genes,particularly those coding for terpene biosynthesis pro-teins,associated with tea aroma and stress resistance were significantly amplified through recent tandem duplications and exist as gene clusters in tea plant genome.Phylogenetic analysis of the sequences of 81 tea plant accessions with diverse origins revealed three well-differentiated tea plant populations,support-ing the proposition for the southwest origin of the Chinese cultivated tea plant and its later spread to western Asia through introduction.Domestication and modern breeding left significant signatures on hundreds of genes in the tea plant genome,particularly those associated with tea quality and stress resis-tance.The genomic sequences of the reported reference and resequenced tea plant accessions provide valuable resources for future functional genomics study and molecular breeding of improved cul-tivars of tea plants.Enhua Xia Wei Tong Yan Hou Yanlin An Linbo Chen Qiong Wu Yunlong Liu Jie Yu Fangdong Li Ruopei Li Penghui Li Huijuan Zhao Ruoheng Ge Jin Huang Ali Inayat Mallano Yanrui Zhang Shengrui Liu Weiwei Deng Chuankui Song Zhaoliang Zhang Jian Zhao Shu Wei Zhengzhu Zhang Tao Xia Chaoling Wei Xiaochun Wan 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,7:51
2Principles and methods for the validation of quantitative remote sensing products显示文摘We first discuss the relativity of 'true value and homogeneity' for quantitative remote sensing products (QRSPs), and then propose the definitions of 'eigenaccuracy' and 'eigenhomogeneity' under practical conditions. The eigenaccuracy and eigenhomogeneity for land surface crucial parameters such as albedo, leaf area index (LAI), and surface temperature are analyzed based on a series of experiments. Secondly, we point out the differences and similarities between the scale-free phenomena of the QRSPs and the measurements of the coastline length (1-dimensional) and the curved surface area (2-dimensional). An information fractal algorithm for the QRSPs is presented. In a case study for the LAI, when the fractal dimension is 2.16, the ratio of the LAI retrieval values obtained respectively from remote sensing data of 30 m and 6 km pixel resolution can actually reach as high as 2.86 for the same 6 km pixel using the same retrieval model. 3Biogeochemical sequestration of carbon within phytoliths of wetland plants: A case study of Xixi wetland, China显示文摘As an important long-term terrestrial carbon sequestration mechanism, biogeochemical sequestration of carbon within phytoliths may play a significant role in the global carbon cycle and climate change. The aim of this study is to explore the potential of carbon bio-sequestration within phytoliths produced by wetland plants. The results show that the occluded carbon content of phytoliths in wetland plants ranges from 0.49% to 3.97%, with a CV (coefficient of variation) value of 810%. The data also indicate that the phytolith-occluded carbon (PhytOC) content of biomass for wetland plants depends not only on the phytolith content of biomass, but also the efficiency of carbon occlusion within phytoliths during plant growth in herb-dominated fens. The fluxes of carbon bio-sequestration within phytoliths of herb-dominated fen plants range from 0.003 to 0.077 t CO2 equivalents t-e-CO2ha-1a-1 . In China, 0.04×106 to 1.05×106t CO2 equivalents per year may be sequestrated in phytoliths of herbaceous-dominated fen plants. Globally, taking a fen area of 1.48×108 ha and the largest phytolith carbon biosequestration flux (0.077 t-e-CO 2 ha-1a-1 ) for herb-dominated fen plants, about 1.14×10 7 t CO 2 equivalents per year would have been sequestrated in phytoliths of fen plants. If other wetland plants have similar PhytOC production flux with herb-dominated fen plants (0.077 t-e-CO2ha-1a-1 ), about 4.39×10 7 t-e-CO2a-1 may be sequestrated in the phytoliths of world wetland plants. 5A physics-based statistical algorithm for retrieving land surface temperature from AMSR-E passive microwave data显示文摘AMSR-E and MODIS are two EOS (Earth Observing System) instruments on board the Aqua satellite. A regression analysis between the brightness of all AMSR-E bands and the MODIS land surface tem-perature product indicated that the 89 GHz vertical polarization is the best single band to retrieve land surface temperature. According to simulation analysis with AIEM,the difference of different frequen-cies can eliminate the influence of water in soil and atmosphere,and also the surface roughness partly. The analysis results indicate that the radiation mechanism of surface covered snow is different from others. In order to retrieve land surface temperature more accurately,the land surface should be at least classified into three types:water covered surface,snow covered surface,and non-water and non-snow covered land surface. In order to improve the practicality and accuracy of the algorithm,we built different equations for different ranges of temperature. 6Histological diagnosis of gastric submucosal tumors: A pilot study of endoscopic ultrasonography-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsy vs mucosal cutting biopsy显示文摘AIM: To compare the usefulness of endoscopic ultrasonography-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsy(EUS-FNAB) without cytology and mucosal cutting biopsy(MCB) in the histological diagnosis of gastric submucosal tumor(SMT).METHODS: We prospectively compared the diagnostic yield, feasibility, and safety of EUS-FNAB and those of MCB based on endoscopic submucosal dissection. The cases of 20 consecutive patients with gastric SMT ≥1 cm in diameter. who underwent both EUS-FNAB and MCB were investigated.RESULTS: The histological diagnoses were gastrointestinal stromal tumors(n = 7), leiomyoma(n =6), schwannoma(n = 2), aberrant pancreas(n = 2), and one case each of glomus tumor, metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma, and no-diagnosis. The tumors' mean size was 23.6 mm. Histological diagnosis was made in 65.0% of the EUS-FNABs and 60.0% of the MCBs, a nonsignificant difference. There were no significant differences in the diagnostic yield concerning the tumor location or tumor size between the two methods. However, diagnostic specimens were significantly more frequently obtained in lesions with intraluminal growth than in those with extraluminal growth by the MCB method(P = 0.01). All four SMTs with extraluminal growth were diagnosed only by EUSFNAB(P = 0.03). 8Global Water Vapor Content Decreases from 2003 to 2012: An Analysis Based on MODIS Data显示文摘Water vapor in the earth′s upper atmosphere plays a crucial role in the radiative balance, hydrological process, and climate change. Based on the latest moderate-resolution imaging spectroradiometer(MODIS) data, this study probes the spatio-temporal variations of global water vapor content in the past decade. It is found that overall the global water vapor content declined from 2003 to 2012(slope b = –0.0149, R = 0.893, P = 0.0005). The decreasing trend over the ocean surface(b = –0.0170, R = 0.908, P = 0.0003) is more explicit than that over terrestrial surface(b = –0.0100, R = 0.782, P = 0.0070), more significant over the Northern Hemisphere(b = –0.0175, R = 0.923, P = 0.0001) than that over the Southern Hemisphere(b = –0.0123, R = 0.826, P = 0.0030). In addition, the analytical results indicate that water vapor content are decreasing obviously between latitude of 36°N and 36°S(b = 0.0224, R = 0.892, P = 0.0005), especially between latitude of 0°N and 36°N(b = 0.0263, R = 0.931, P = 0.0001), while the water vapor concentrations are increasing slightly in the Arctic regions(b = 0.0028, R = 0.612, P = 0.0590). The decreasing and spatial variation of water vapor content regulates the effects of carbon dioxide which is the main reason of the trend in global surface temperatures becoming nearly flat since the late 1990 s. The spatio-temporal variations of water vapor content also affect the growth and spatial distribution of global vegetation which also regulates the global surface temperature change, and the climate change is mainly caused by the earth's orbit position in the solar and galaxy system. A big data model based on gravitational-magmatic change with the solar or the galactic system is proposed to be built for analyzing how the earth's orbit position in the solar and galaxy system affects spatio-temporal variations of global water vapor content, vegetation and temperature at large spatio-temporal scale. 9On the applicability of Kirchoff's law and the principle of heat balance in thermal infrared remote sensing:A non-isothermal system显示文摘This paper proposes a basic equation of thermal radiation interaction between surface objects on the basis of the principle of heat balance in the interface. The solution of this equation takes account of the contribution of sensible heat flux and latent heat flux more completely, compared with traditional solution for surface cooling and heating processes. By the aid of the experimental data conducted in the Xiaotangshan experimental site, Beijing, both the non-applicability of Kirchoff's law and the measurability of surface emissivity in a non-isothermal system have been highlighted. Two methods called ventilation and time-delay compensations have been proposed to reduce the error induced by change of surface temperatures of non-isothermal objects during the measurement of emissivity. 13Determination of 4-tert-octylphenol in surface water samples of Jinan in China by solid phase extraction coupled with GC-MS显示文摘Octylphenols, considered as xenoestrogens, mainly exist as 4-tert-octylphenol (OP) in aquatic environments. The high stability and accumulation of OP in aquatic systems have caused endocrine disruption. The OP in surface water in Jinan, China was analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) coupled with solid phase extraction (SPE). Water samples were extracted by SPE on a cartridge system containing C-18 as sorbent. To increase sensitivity and selectivity, OP was derivatized to 4-tert-octyl-phenoxy silane. With the use of phenanthrene-d10 as internal standard, the detection limit based on signal-to-noise ratio (S/N = 3) was 0.06 ng/mL. The average recovery was from 84.67% to 109.7%. The precision of the method given as the relative standard deviations (RSD) was within the range 6.24%-12.96%. In the target water samples, the concentrations of OP were as follows: 15.88-71.24 ng/L for Jinxiuchuan Reservoir, 3.850-26.68 ng/L for the city moat, 6.930-41.56 ng/L for Daming Lake, 66.03-474.2 ng/L for Xiaoqing River, 14.66-17.72 ng/L for the Yellow River, and 10.60-26.43 ng/L for Queshan Reservoir. The Xiaoqing River was seriously polluted due to the discharge of wastewater from Jinan. Jinxiuchuan Reservoir had a higher concentration of OP compared with the Yellow River and Queshan Reservoir, which is ascribed to the surrounding human activities. 15The tea plant CsLHT1 and CsLHT6 transporters take up amino acids, as a nitrogen source, from the soil of organic tea plantations显示文摘Organic tea is more popular than conventional tea that originates from fertilized plants.Amino acids inorganic soils constitute a substantial pool nitrogen(N)available for plants.However,the amino-acid contents in soils of tea plantations and how tea plants take up these amino acids remain largely unknown.In this study,we show that the amino-acid content in the soil of an organic tea plantation is significantly higher than that of a conventional tea plantation.Glutamate,alanine,valine,and leucine were the most abundant amino acids in the soil of this tea plantation.When 15 N-glutamate was fed to tea plants,it was efficiently absorbed and significantly increased the contents of other amino acids in the roots.We cloned seven CsLHT genes encoding amino-acid transporters and found that the expression of CsLHT1,CsLHT2,and CsLHT6 in the roots significantly increased upon glutamate feeding.Moreover,the expression of CsLHT1 or CsLHT6 in a yeast amino-acid uptake-defective mutant,22Δ10α,enabled growth on media with amino acids constituting the sole N source.Amino-acid uptake assays indicated that CsLHT1 and CsLHT6 are H^(+)-dependent high-and low-affinity amino-acid transporters,respectively.We further demonstrated that CsLHT1 and CsLHT6 are highly expressed in the roots and are localized to the plasma membrane.Moreover,overexpression of CsLHT1 and CsLHT6 in Arabidopsis significantly improved the uptake of exogenously supplied 15 N-glutamate and 15 N-glutamine.Taken together,our findings are consistent with the involvement of CsLHT1 and CsLHT6 in amino-acid uptake from the soil,which is particularly important for tea plants grown inorganic tea plantations.Fang Li Chunxia Dong Tianyuan Yang Shilai Bao Wanping Fang William J.Lucas Zhaoliang Zhang 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:3
16Integrated treatment for lower-limb stage Ⅱ thromboangiitis obliterans by interventional therapy and oral administration of Chinese medicine: a randomized controlled clinical trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To observe if integrated treatment is better than other therapies for lower-limb stage thromboangiitis obliterans(TAO).ⅡMETHODS: Ninety lower-limb stage randomly dividedⅡ i or worse TAO patients werento three groups: group A(30 cases) treated by intervention and oral administration of Chinese medicine; groupB(30 cases) treated by intervention alone; and group C(30 cases) treated only with oral administration of Chinese medicine. 17Agricultural Non-point Source Pollution in China:Evaluation,Convergence Characteristics and Spatial Effects显示文摘In this study,an inventory analysis approach was used to investigate the intensity of agricultural non-point source pollution(ANSP)and its spatial convergence at national and provincial levels in China from 1999 to 2017.On this basis,spatial factors affecting ANSP were explored by constructing a spatial econometric model.The results indicate that:1)The intensity of China's ANSP emission showed an overall upward trend and an obvious spatial difference,with the values being high in the eastern and central regions and relatively low in the western region.2)Significant spatial agglomeration was shown in China's ANSP intensity,and the agglomeration effect was increasing gradually.3)In the convergence analysis,a spatial lag model was found applicable for interpretation of the ANSP intensity,with the convergence rate being accelerated after considering the spatial factors but slower than that of regional economic growth.4)The spatial factors affecting the ANSP intensity are shown to be reduced by improving agricultural infrastructure investment,labor-force quality,and crop production ratio,while the expansion of agricultural economy scale and precipitation and runoff have positive impact on ANSP in the study region.However,agricultural research and development(R&D)investment showed no direct significant effect on the ANSP intensity.Meanwhile,improving the quality of the labor force would significantly reduce the ANSP intensity in the surrounding areas,while the precipitation and runoff would significantly increase the pollution of neighboring regions.This research has laid a theoretical basis for formulation and optimization of ANSP prevention strategies in China and related regions.QIU Wenwen ZHONG Zhangbao LI Zhaoliang 2021Chinese Geographical Science2021,31,3:3
18Ecological stoichiometry of nitrogen, phosphorous, and sulfur in China's forests显示文摘Much attention has been paid to the stoichiometry of carbon(C), nitrogen(N), and phosphorus(P) because of their significance for plant growth and climate change. However, other nutrients, such as sulfur(S), are often ignored. In this study, we analyzed the stoichiometry of N, P, and S in leaves of 348 plant species in China's forests. The results show higher N content and higher molar ratios of N/P and P/S in Angiospermae than in Gymnospermae. At the family level, Ulmaceae absorbed more N and P from soils than other families, and Cupressaceae absorbed more S than other families. In addition,except for bamboo and other tropical forests, leaf N and P content of China's forests generally increased from low to middle latitudes and then slightly decreased or plateaued at high latitudes. 19Analysis of cDNA sequence,protein structure and expression of parotid secretory protein in pig显示文摘Parotid secretory protein (PSP) secreted abundantly in saliva, whose function is related with the anti-bacterial effect. The PSP cDNA has been isolated from pig parotid glands by 3′ and 5′ rapid amplification of cDNA end (RACE), based on the conserved signal peptide region among the known mammalian PSP. The result of homologous comparison shows that pig PSP and human PSP shares the high identity at the level of the primary, secondary and tertiary protein structure. A search for functionally significant protein motifs revealed a unique amino acid sequence pattern consisting of the residues Leu-X(6)-Leu-X(6)-Leu- X(7)-Leu-X(6)-Leu-X(6)-Leu near the amino-terminal portion of the protein, which is important to its function. 20Phytolith carbon sequestration in bamboos of different ecotypes:a case study in China显示文摘Occlusion of carbon(C) within phytoliths(Phyt OC) is becoming one of the most promising terrestrial C sequestration mechanisms. This study explored the production of Phyt OC within 35 bamboo species belonging to three ecotypes using methods of microwave digestion. The aim of this study is to explore the present and potential C sequestration rate within phytoliths of bamboo species from three ecotypes. Phyt OC content in bamboos of three ecotypes ranges from 0.07 % to 0.42 %. The mean Phyt OC production flux decreases as: clustered bamboo(0.050 ±0.016 t CO2ha-1a-1) & mixed bamboo(0.049 ± 0.016 t CO2ha-1a-1) [ scattered bamboo(0.038 ± 0.020 t CO2ha-1a-1). The phytolith carbon sequestration in Chinese bamboo is estimated to be 0.293 ± 0.127 Tg(1 Tg =1012g) CO2a-1; approximately 75 %, 3 %, and 22 % of which is contributed from scattered, mixed and clustered bamboo, respectively. Taking the Phyt OC production flux of 0.18 ± 0.12 t CO2ha-1a-1and current annual area increasing rate of 3 %, global bamboo phytoliths wouldsequester 11.9 ± 7.9 Tg CO2a-1by 2050.
