1A Chromosome-Scale Genome Assembly of Paper Mulberry(Bmussonetia papyrifera)Provides New Insights into Its Forage and Papermaking Usage显示文摘Paper mulberry(Broussonetia papyrifera)is a well-known woody tree historically used for Cai Lun papermaking,one of the four great inventions of ancient China.More recently,Paper mulberry has also been used as forage to address the shortage of feedstuff because of its digestible crude fiber and high protein contents.In this study,we obtained a chromosome-scale genome assembly for Paper mulberry using integrated approaches,including Illumina and PacBio sequencing platform as well as Hi-C,optical,and genetic maps.The assembled Paper mulberry genome consists of 386.83 Mb,which is close to the estimated size,and 99.25%(383.93 Mb)of the assembly was assigned to 13 pseudochromosomes.Comparative genomic analysis revealed the expansion and contraction in the flavonoid and lignin biosynthetic gene families,respectively,accounting for the enhanced flavonoid and decreased lignin biosynthesis in Paper mulberry.Moreover,the increased ratio of syringyl-lignin to guaiacyl-lignin in Paper mulberry underscores its suitability for use in medicine,forage,papermaking,and barkcloth making.We also identified the rootassociated microbiota of Paper mulberry and found that Pseudomonas and Rhizobia were enriched in its roots and may provide the source of nitrogen for its stems and leaves via symbiotic nitrogen fixation.Collectively,these results suggest that Paper mulberry might have undergone adaptive evolution and recruited nitrogen-fixing microbes to promote growth by enhancing flavonoid production and altering lignin monomer composition.Our study provides significant insights into genetic basis of the usefulness of Paper mulberry in papermaking and barkcloth making,and as forage.These insights will facilitate further domestication and selection as well as industrial utilization of Paper mulberry worldwide.Xianjun Peng Hui Liu Peilin Chen Feng Tang Yanmin Hu Fenfen Wang Zhi Pi Meiling Zhao Naizhi Chen Hui Chen Xiaokang Zhang Xueqing Yan Min Liu Xiaojun Fu Guofeng Zhao Pu Yao Lili Wang He Dai Xuming Li Wei Xiong Wencai Xu Hongkun Zheng Haiyan Yu Shihua Shen 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,5:18

3Strategies to improve electrochemical performances of pristine metal‐organic frameworks‐based electrodes for lithium/sodium‐ion batteries显示文摘Metal‐organic frameworks(MOFs)have attracted considerable attention as promising next‐generation active electrode materials for lithium‐ion batteries(LIBs)or sodium‐ion batteries(SIBs)because of ultrahigh specific surface area,uniformly distributed pores,and tunable structure.However,there are some disadvantages inevitably far from meeting commercial requirements,such as low conductivity,inconvenient electron transmission,and unsatisfactory circulation stability.In this review,a comprehensive summary of MOFs‐based electrode materials is presented and discussed.First,the general Li^(^(+))/Na^(+)storage mechanism in MOFs‐based electrode materials,including conversion‐and insertion‐type reactions,are summarized with details of active inorganic/organic ligands.Second,MOFs as anode materials for LIBs/SIBs are emphasized and improved on the electrochemical performances.Furthermore,very few research literature on MOFs‐based cathode materials is also discussed.Finally,opinions and prospects on the current challenge of MOFs‐based electrode materials are provided for future research directions.Zhoujia Liu Fenfen Zheng Weiwei Xiong Xiaogang Li Aihua Yuan Huan Pang 2021SmartMat2021,2,4:3

6Differential SW16.1 allelic effects and genetic backgrounds contributed to increased seed weight after soybean domestication显示文摘Although seed weight has increased following domestication from wild soybean(Glycine soja) to cultivated soybean(Glycine max), the genetic basis underlying this change is unclear. Using mapping populations derived from chromosome segment substitution lines of wild soybean, we identified SW16.1 as the causative gene underlying a major quantitative trait locus controlling seed weight.SW16.1 encodes a nucleus-localized LIM domaincontaining protein. Importantly, the GsSW16.1 allele from wild soybean accession N24852 had a negative effect on seed weight, whereas the GmSW16.1 allele from cultivar NN1138-2 had a positive effect. Gene expression network analysis,reverse-transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction, and promoter-luciferase reporter transient expression assays suggested that SW16.1 regulates the transcription of MT4, a positive regulator of seed weight. The natural variations in SW16.1 and other known seed weight genes were analyzed in soybean germplasm. The SW16.1 polymorphism was associated with seed weight in 247 soybean accessions, showing much higher frequency of positive-effect alleles in cultivated soybean than in wild soybean. Interestingly,gene allele matrix analysis of the known seed weight genes revealed that G. max has lost 38.5%of the G. soja alleles and that most of the lost alleles had negative effects on seed weight. 10Progress in quantitative research on the relationship between atmospheric oxidation and air quality显示文摘Atmospheric oxidizing capacity(AOC)is an essential driving force of troposphere chemistry and self-cleaning,but the definition of AOC and its quantitative representation remain uncertain.Driven by national demand for air pollution control in recent years,Chinese scholars have carried out studies on theories of atmospheric chemistry and have made considerable progress in AOC research.This paper will give a brief review of these developments.First,AOC indexes were established that represent apparent atmospheric oxidizing ability(AOIe)and potential atmospheric oxidizing ability(AOIp)based on aspects of macrothermodynamics and microdynamics,respectively.A closed study refined the quantitative contributions of heterogeneous chemistry to AOC in Beijing,and these AOC methods were further applied in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and key areas across the country.In addition,the detection of ground or vertical profiles for atmospheric OH·,HO_(2)·,NO_(3)·radicals and reservoir molecules can now be obtained with domestic instruments in diverse environments.Moreover,laboratory smoke chamber simulations revealed heterogeneous processes involving reactions of O_(3)and NO_(2),which are typical oxidants in the surface/interface atmosphere,and the evolutionary and budgetary implications of atmospheric oxidants reacting under multispecies,multiphase and multi-interface conditions were obtained.Finally,based on the GRAPES-CUACE adjoint model improved by Chinese scholars,simulations of key substances affecting atmospheric oxidation and secondary organic and inorganic aerosol formation have been optimized.Normalized numerical simulations of AOIe and AOIp were performed,and regional coordination of AOC was adjusted.An optimized plan for controlling O_(3)and PM2.5was analyzed by scenario simulation.Yuesi Wang Xin Jin Zirui Liu Gehui Wang Guiqian Tang Keding Lu Bo Hu Shanshan Wang Guohui Li Xinqin An Chao Wang Qihou Hu Lingyan He Fenfen Zhang Yuanhang Zhang 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,1:1
11Effects of weaning on intestinal longitudinal muscle-myenteric plexus function in piglets显示文摘Weaning piglets usually suffer from severe diarrhea(commonly known as postweaning diarrhea,PWD)along with intestinal motility disorder.Intestinal peristalsis is mainly regulated by the longitudinal muscle-myenteric plexus(LM-MP).To understand the relationship between intestinal LM-MP function and the development of PWD,we compared the intestinal electrical activity,and the transcriptional profile of the LM-MP between 21-day-old piglets(just weaned,n=7)and 24-day-old piglets(suffered the most severe weaning stress,n=7).The results showed that 24-day-old piglets exhibited different degrees of diarrhea.A significant increase in the slow-wave frequency in the ileum and colon was observed in 24-day-old piglets,while c-kit expression in the intestinal LM-MPs was significantly decreased,indicating that PWD caused by elevated slow-wave frequency may be associated with loss of c-kit.The real-time quantitative PCR(RT-q PCR)and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)showed that intestinal LM-MPs in 24-day-old piglets may undergo inflammation and oxidative stress.Significant increases in 8-hydroxy-2′-deoxyguanosine and decreases in thioredoxin suggest that weaning may lead to DNA damage in the LM-MP of 24-day-old piglets.In addition,activating transcription factor 3 was significantly upregulated,indicating nerve damage in the LM-MP of 24-day-old piglets.The transcriptomic results showed that most of the differentially expressed genes in the ileal LM-MP after weaning were downregulated and closely related to the cell cycle process.Subsequent RT-q PCR analysis showed that the relative expression of p21 was upregulated,while the expression of cyclin A2,cyclin B1,and proliferating cell nuclear antigen was downregulated in the ileal and colonic LM-MP of 24-day-old piglets,suggesting that weaning may inhibit cell proliferation and cause G1/S cell cycle arrest in ileal and colonic LM-MP.In conclusion,weaning may lead to cell cycle arrest by causing DNA damage in the LM-MP,impairing intestinal motility regulation,and ultimately leading to diarrhea in piglets.Jing Li Fenfen Liu Kaibin Mo Hengjia Ni Yulong Yin 2024Science China(Life Sciences)2024,67,2:0
12Analysis and application of carbon-bearing rate of reservoirs in the Puguang gas field,northeastern Sichuan Basin显示文摘With wells Puguang 2 and 6 in the Puguang gas field as the research objects by choosing organic carbon as characterization reservoir carbon(indirectly reflecting the bitumen contents),this paper discusses the relationship between bitumen contents and lithologic characteristics,reservoir characteristics,and calculates the volume of paleo-oil and oil cracked gas.The study shows that the organic carbon contents of the reservoirs are related to lithologic characteristics.Due to variations in the particle size or structure of rocks,the porosity of the reservoirs varies,furthermore,it will influence the contents of organic carbon.And the relationship between these two parameters is positive.Based on the analysis,the relationship between total organic carbon(TOC)and the contents of reservoir bitumen also appears to be positive.The volume of paleo-oil and cracked gas of the Changxing-Feixian’guan Formation are respectively 495 million tons and 360.4 billion m3 through the calculation of reservoir’s organic carbon.Therefore,the relationship between carbon-bearing rate and characteristics of the reservoirs can be used to indirectly evaluate reservoir types.Besides,the carbon-bearing rate of the reservoirs also reflects the contents of reservoir bitumen,paleo-oil as well as natural gas.It makes a new approach for the study of the types of reservoirs and the amounts of paleo-oil and oil cracked gas in northeastern Sichuan Basin.ZHAO Xingqi CHEN Jianfa GUO Wang LIU Gaozhi LIU Fenfen XU Liheng 2013Chinese Journal Of Geochemistry2013,32,4:0
13An ultra-low concentration electrolyte with fluorine-free bulky anions for stable potassium metal batteries显示文摘Potassium metal battery is a promising alternative to Li-ion battery for large-scale energy storage due to the abundant potassium resources and high energy density.However,it suffers from rapid capacity fading and safety issues due to the uncontrolled dendrite growth.Herein,we design a fluorine-free ultra-low concentration electrolyte(ULCE)with the super bulky[BPh_(4)]^(−) anions for stable potassium metal battery.In this special electrolyte,the migration rate of K+in the electrolyte is about six times faster than that of the[BPh_(4)]^(−) anions because of the super bulky structure of the[BPh_(4)]^(−) anions,thus resulting in a high K^(+)transference number of 0.76.This high transference number can effectively make up for the deficiency of K^(+)in ULCE for ensuring the normal operation of the potassium metal battery.In addition,the improved transference number can also promote the uniform distribution of K^(+)flux on the surface of the K metal anode,resulting in uniform K deposition.As a result,this electrolyte achieves a high K plating/stripping Coulombic efficiency of 92.6%over 200 cycles and a stable discharging/charging for 100 cycles under the full battery configuration(K used as the anode and perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic dianhydride used as the cathode).Qinguang Liu Mei Geng Ting Yu Li Zhang Changdong Wu Jie Liu Shulin Zhao Qingxin Yang Robin Song Jingjuan Ye Fenfen Wang Yuping Wu Dengji Xiao Yuhui Chen 2023Nano Research2023,16,6:0
14Seasonal metal fluxes derived by the interaction of surface water and groundwater in an aquaculture estuary显示文摘Submarine groundwater discharge(SGD)plays a major role as a conveyor of metals to coastal waters.However,the seasonal change of metal fluxes derived through SGD is unclear.Here,we evaluated the behaviours and fluxes of trace metals(Mn,Fe,Ba,Pb,U,Cr,Zn,Cu)in an estuary under different seasonal conditions.The behaviours of trace metals revealed that SGD was the source of Mn(3.51 mmol/(m^(2)·d)),Fe(0.174 mmol/(m^(2)·d))and Ba(0.024 mmol/(m^(2)·d)),but the Cu sink(−0.55μmol/(m^(2)·d))and other metals exhibited a seasonal source‒sink conversion.The seasonal variation of dissolved organic matter and the fresh groundwater proportion in subterranean estuaries may have an important effect on metals fluxes especially for the Fe,Mn and Ba.Our result shows that the single seasonal metal fluxes estimation applied to the annual scale will cause a large deviation,up to 3.6 times for Fe,5.5 times for Mn,and 15 times for Ba.Therefore,the influence of seasonal fluctuations on SGDderived metal fluxes cannot be ignored,and our findings will be important for comprehending the metal budget and cycle in nearshore environment.Xiaoxiong Wang Jordi Garcia-Orellana Xiaogang Chen Jianan Liu Fenfen Zhang Jianguo Qu Zhuoyi Zhu Jinzhou Du 2023Acta Oceanologica Sinica2023,42,8:0
15Taxonomy and Phylogeny of a New Marine Planktonic Ciliate, Strombidium pseudorapulum sp. n. (Protozoa, Ciliophora, Oligotrichia)显示文摘As one of the main groups of marine planktonic protozoa,oligotrich ciliates have shown a high biodiversity.Recently,a new aloricate oligotrich ciliate,Strombidium pseudorapulum sp.n.was isolated from coastal waters of southeast China.The living morphology and infraciliature of this species were studied using live cell observation and protargol impregnation.Strombidium pseudorapulum sp.n.differs from its congeners by having a radish-like body with a bumped anterior end and an elongated tail-like posterior end,possessing a red‘eyespot’in apical protrusion of cell,adoral zone of membranelles composed of 12–16 collar and 9–12 buccal membranelles,one spindle-shaped macronucleus,girdle kinety in anterior 2/5 of cell with 45–60 densely spaced dikinetids,and ventral kinety occupying about the posterior 1/3 of the cell with 16–19 dikinetids.Strombidium pseudorapulum sp.n.clusters together with those species having‘eyespot’in apical protrusion in the phylogenetic tree based on the small subunit rRNA gene sequence.It is a sister species of S.cuneiforme with 31 unmatched nucleotides between their SSU rRNA gene sequences.LI Fenfen HUANG Yaoyao YU Ying LIU Weiwei LIN Xiaofeng 2020Journal of Ocean University of China2020,19,4:0
16Expression Characteristics of AaHsp90 Gene in Antheraea assamensis under Different Temperature and Starvation Stress显示文摘[Objectives]To investigate the effects of different temperature and starvation stress on the expression of AaHsp90 and reveal the molecular mechanism of adaptation to environment in Antheraea assama.[Methods]Taking the normal feeding group at 26℃as the control,the expression change of AaHsp90 was detected by real-time PCR in midgut,fat body and hemlymph after high temperature stress at 38℃,low temperature stress at 4℃and starvation stress separately for different time on the third day of the fifth larvae.[Results]The expression of AaHsp90 in midgut,fat body and hemlymph of Antheraea assama were increased obviously at first and then decreased sharply with the prolongation of treatment time at 38℃.There has a certain inhibitory effect on the expression of AaHsp90 in midgut,fat body and hemolymph after treatment with 4℃for different time.After treatment with starvation,the AaHsp90 expression were increased at 12 and 18 h and decreased sharply at 24 h in midgut,fat body and hemolymph of A.assama.[Conclusions]Comprehensive analysis showed that high temperature and starvation stress can induce the expression of AaHsp90,while low temperature stress mainly suppressed its expression.It was suggested that the AaHsp90 protein may play an important role in the process of adaptation to high temperature and starvation stress in A.assama.Weike YANG Zenghu LIU Changxiong HU Fenfen TANG 2023Asian Agricultural Research2023,15,12:0
17Bioorthogonal microglia-inspired mesenchymal stem cell bioengineering system creates livable niches for enhancing ischemic stroke recovery via the hormesis显示文摘Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)experience substantial viability issues in the stroke infarct region,limiting their therapeutic efficacy and clinical translation.High levels of deadly reactive oxygen radicals(ROS)and proinflammatory cytokines(PC)in the infarct milieu kill transplanted MSCs,whereas low levels of beneficial ROS and PC stimulate and improve engrafted MSCs’viability.Based on the intrinsic hormesis effects in cellular biology,we built a microglia-inspired MSC bioengineering system to transform detrimental high-level ROS and PC into vitality enhancers for strengthening MSC therapy.This system is achieved by bioorthogonally arming metabolic glycoengineered MSCs with microglial membrane-coated nanoparticles and an antioxidative extracellular protective layer.In this system,extracellular ROSscavenging and PC-absorbing layers effectively buffer the deleterious effects and establish a microlivable niche at the level of a single MSC for transplantation.Meanwhile,the infarct’s inanimate milieu is transformed at the tissue level into a new living niche to facilitate healing.The engineered MSCs achieved viability five times higher than natural MSCs at seven days after transplantation and exhibited a superior therapeutic effect for stroke recovery up to 28 days.This vitality-augmented system demonstrates the potential to accelerate the clinical translation of MSC treatment and boost stroke recovery.Jianpei Xu Yinzhe Sun Yang You Yuwen Zhang Dan Huang Songlei Zhou Yipu Liu Shiqiang Tong Fenfen Ma Qingxiang Song Chengxiang Dai Suke Li Jigang Lei Zhihua Wang Xiaoling Gao Jun Chen 2024Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2024,14,3:0
18Treatment of Encapsulated Blebs with Slit-Lamp Needling and Subconjunctival Interferon Injection显示文摘Purpose:To investigate the efficacy and safety of slit-lamp needle revision with subconjunctival interferon injection in eyes with encapsulated blebs.Methods:We reviewed a series of 25 cases(27 eyes) in which primary needling with 5×105 IFN α-2b injection was performed for bleb encapsulation and analysed the results over a follow-up period of at least 12 months.Results:The mean time to development of encapsulated blebs after the surgery was 23.85±10.66 days(9 to 60 days).The mean IOP decreased significantly from 22.51±5.30 mm Hg at diagnosis of encapsulated blebs to 17.26±7.72 mm Hg at the last visit(P=0.009).Of the 27 eyes,15(55.56%) achieved a successful result,10(37.04%) were qualified for success and the remaining 2(7.4%) were considered as failure.The qualified success group took 1.70±0.67 antiglaucoma medications.No serious complications were detected.Conclusion:The needling procedure associated with subconjuctival injection of IFN α-2b is a safe and effective method in treating encapsulated blebs.Zhen Mao Xing Liu Yimin Zhong Dan Cao Mei Li Fenfen Yu 2011Eye Science2011,26,3:0
19Target-induced mimic enzyme deactivation based on mixed-node metal-organic frameworks for colorimetric assay of hydrogen sulfide显示文摘Accurate detection of hydrogen sulfide(H_(2)S)is of great significance for environmental monitoring and protection.We propose a colorimetric method for the detection of H_(2)S by the use of mixed-node Cu-Fe metal organic frameworks(Cu-Fe MOFs)as highly efficient mimic enzymes for target-induced deactivation.The Cu-Fe MOFs were synthesized by a simple solvothermal method and could catalyze the H_(2)O_(2)mediated oxidation of 3,30,5,50-tetramethylbenzidine(TMB)to oxTMB with a blue color.The presence of dissolved H_(2)S would deactivate the mimic enzymes,and then the blue color disappeared.The mechanism of the sensor was discussed by steady-state kinetic analysis.The designed assay was highly sensitive for H_(2)S detection with a linear range of 0à80 mmol/L and a detection limit of 1.6 mmol/L.Moreover,some potential substances in the water samples had no interference.This method with the advantages of low cost,high sensitivity,selectivity,and visual readout with the naked eye was successfully applied to the determination of H_(2)S in industrial wastewater samples.Fenfen Zhou Yanli Zhou Jianwei Zhang Hui Dong Lantao Liu Yintang Zhang Maotian Xu 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,10:0
20Expression Profiles and Response to Exogenous Hormones of β-Fructofuranosidase Gene BmSuc1 in Silkworms(Bombyx mori)显示文摘[Objectives]In order to clarify the regulatory effects of insect hormones on the expression of BmSuc1 and provide a reference for further analysis of the function and expression regulation mechanism of BmSuc1,this study explored the expression profiles of BmSuc1 in different tissues and periods of silkworm larvae and the expression changes of BmSuc1 after treatment with exogenous hormones.[Methods]By using the real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR technique,the expression characteristics of BmSuc1 were detected in different periods,different tissues and after treatment with exogenous hormones during the development of silkworm larvae.The expression of BmSuc1 and 20E receptor gene USP was detected after RNA interference with double-stranded RNA(dsRNA)of USP.[Results]The relative expression of BmSuc1 gene in the midgut was the highest,followed by the silk glands,epidermis and hemolymph.However,there was much lower or almost no expression in other tissues.In addition,the BmSuc1 expression profile exhibited a pulse-like pattern in silkworm larvae.The expression level of BmSuc1 was higher at each instar stage before molting,late fifth instar before cocooning and prepupal stage.Silkworm larvae at day 2 of the fifth instar were treated with 20-hydroxyecdysone(20E)and juvenile hormone(JH).It was found that the expression of BmSuc1 was extremely significantly higher at 12 and 18 h after 20E treatment than the control group injected with 0.1%dimethyl sulfoxide(DMSO)(P<0.01,the same below).But there were no significant difference in BmSuc1 expression between the JH treatment and the control group during the measurement time range(P>0.05).The dsRNA of USP was synthesized in vitro and injected into silkworm larvae at day 3 of the fifth instar.It was showed that the USP relative expression was extremely significantly down-regulated at 24 and 36 h after injection,which indicated that dsRNA interference was successful.RNAi of USP would block 20E signal transduction,and the expression of BmSuc1 was inhibited and significantly down-regulated at 24 and 36 h after injection of dsRNA of USP(P<0.05).[Conclusions]The BmSuc1 expression peaks appeared in the molting of silkworm larvae and the metamorphosis of larvae to pupae,which suggests that BmSuc1 may be involved in the metamorphic development process of silkworms.Treatment with exogenous ecdysone 20E can activate the expression of BmSuc1,but blocking the 20E signal transduction pathway may suppress expression of BmSuc1.It indicates that BmSuc1 as a downstream target gene in the 20E signal transduction pathway is directly or indirectly regulated by 20E signals.Weike YANG Fenfen TANG Zenghu LIU Changxiong HU Zhanpeng DONG 2023Agricultural Biotechnology2023,12,6:0
