1Synthesis and properties of phosphorus-containing bio-based epoxy resin from itaconic acid显示文摘A phosphorus-containing bio-based epoxy resin(EADI)was synthesized from itaconic acid(IA)and 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene 10-oxide(DOPO).As a matrix,its cured epoxy network with methyl hexahydrophthalic anhydride(MHHPA)as the curing agent showed comparable glass-transition temperature and mechanical properties to diglycidyl ether in a bisphenol A(DGEBA)system as well as good flame retardancy with UL94 V-0 grade during a vertical burning test.As a reactive flame retardant,its flame-resistant effect on DGEBA/MHHPA system as well as its influence on the curing behavior and the thermal and mechanical properties of the modified epoxy resin were investigated.Results showed that after the introduction of EADI,not only were the flame retardancy determined by vertical burning test,LOI measurement,and thermogravimetric analysis significantly improved,but also the curing reactivity,glass transition temperature(T g),initial degradation temperature for 5%weight loss(T d(5%)),and flexural modulus of the cured system improved as well.EADI has great potential to be used as a green flame retardant in epoxy resin systems.MA SongQi LIU XiaoQing JIANG YanHua FAN LiBo FENG JianXiang ZHU Jin 2014Science China Chemistry2014,57,3:33
2Predicting lifetime risk for developing atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease in Chinese population:the China-PAR project显示文摘Evidence on the lifetime risk for atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease(ASCVD) is insufficient;yet,estimating an individual's lifetime risk allows for a comprehensive assessment of ASCVD burden.We developed and validated lifetime risk prediction equations for ASCVD using four large and ongoing prospective cohorts of Chinese,the China-PAR project(Prediction for ASCVD Risk in China).Sexspecific equations were developed using two cohorts(as the derivation cohort) of 21,320 participants.Two other independent cohorts with 14,123 and 70,838 participants were used for their external validation,respectively.We evaluated both calibration and discrimination measures for model performance.Furthermore,we estimated ASCVD-free years lost or excess absolute risk attributable to high 10-year risk(!10.0%) and/or high lifetime risk(!32.8%).After 12.3 years' follow-up of the derivation cohort,1048 ASCVD events and 1304 non-ASCVD deaths were identified.Our sex-specific equations had good internal validation,with discriminant C statistics of 0.776(95% confidence interval [CI]:0.757–0.794) and 0.801(95% CI:0.778–0.825),and calibration χ~2 of 9.2(P = 0.418) and 5.6(P = 0.777) for men and women,respectively.Good external validation was also demonstrated with predicted rates closely matched to the observed ones.Compared with men having both low 10-year and low lifetime risk,men would develop ASCVD 3.0,4.6 and 8.6 years earlier if they had high 10-year risk alone,high lifetime risk alone,or both high 10-year and high lifetime risk at the index age of 35 years,respectively.We developed wellperformed lifetime risk prediction equations that will help to identify those with the greatest potential to avert ASCVD burden after implementation of innovative clinical and public health interventions in China.Fangchao Liu Jianxin Li Jichun Chen Dongsheng Hu Ying Li Jianfeng Huang Xiaoqing Liu Xueli Yang Jie Cao Chong Shen Ling Yu Zhendong Liu Xianping Wu Liancheng Zhao Xigui Wu Dongfeng Gu Xiangfeng Lu 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,12:30
3ZIKA virus isolated from mosquitoes:a field and laboratory investigation in China,2016显示文摘A field investigation of arboviruses was conducted in Dejiang, Guizhou Province in the summer of 2016. A total of 8,795 mosquitoes, belonging to four species of three genera, and 1,300 midges were collected. The mosquito samples were identified on site according to their morphology, and the pooled samples were ground and centrifuged in the laboratory. The supernatant was incubated with mosquito tissue culture cells(C6/36) and mammalian cells(BHK-21) for virus isolation. The results indicated that 40%(3,540/8,795) were Anopheles sinensis, 30%(2,700/8,795) were Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus, and 29%(2,530/8,795)were Armigeres subbalbeatus. Furthermore, a total of eight virus isolates were obtained, and genome sequencing revealed two Zika viruses(ZIKVs) isolated from Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus and Armigeres subbalbeatus, respectively; three Japanese encephalitis viruses(JEVs) isolated from Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus; two Banna viruses(BAVs) isolated from Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus and Anopheles sinensis, respectively; and one densovirus(DNV) isolated from Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus.The ZIKVs isolated from the Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus and Armigeres subbalbeatus mosquitoes represent the first ZIKV isolates in China's Mainland. 4Chronic Hepatitis B Infection with Low Level Viremia Correlates with the Progression of the Liver Disease显示文摘Background and Aims:Currently,insufficient clinical data are available to address whether low-level viremia(LLV)observed during antiviral treatment will adversely affect the clinical outcome or whether treatment strategies should be altered if LLV occurs.This study compared the clinical out-comes of patients with a maintained virological response(MVR)and patients who experienced LLV and their treatment strategies.Methods:A retrospective cohort of 674 patients with chronic hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection who received antiviral treatment for more than 12 months was analyzed for the development of end-stage liver disease and treatment strategies during the follow-up period.End-stage liver disease included decompensated liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).Results:During a median 42-month follow-up,end-stage liver disease developed more frequently in patients who experienced LLV than in those who experienced MVR(7.73%and 15.85%vs.0.77%and 5.52%at 5 and 10 years,respectively;p=0.000).The trend was consistent after propensity score matching.In the high-risk group of four HCC risk models,LLV patients had a higher risk of HCC development(p<0.05).By Cox proportional hazard model analysis,LLV was an independent risk factor for end-stage liver disease and HCC(hazard ratio[HR]=6.280,confidence interval[CI]=2.081-18.951,p=0.001;HR=5.108,CI=1.392-18.737,respectively;p=0.014).Patients achieved a lower rate of end-stage liver disease by adjusting treatment compared to continuing the original treatment once LLV occurred(p<0.05).Conclusions:LLV is an independent risk factor for end-stage liver disease and HCC,and treatment adjustments can be considered.Qian Zhang Hong Peng Xiaoqing Liu Huimin Wang Jinjie Du Xinhua Luo Hong Ren Peng Hu 2021Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2021,9,6:25
5Neuroprotective effect of ethyl acetate extract from gastrodia elata against transient focal cerebral ischemia in rats induced by middle cerebral artery occlusion显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the protective effect of neuroprotection against transient focal cerebral ischemia of the extract from Tianma(Rhizoma Gastrodiae) and the possible mechanisms underlying the action.METHODS: Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury was induced through middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO). Adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into four groups: sham-operated,ischemia-reperfusion model, 102.6 mg/kg extract treated and 11.4 mg/kg extract treated groups. The extract was prepared from gastrodia elata with ethyl acetate. The effect of the extract tested on rat neurological de fi cits and Cerebral index, cerebral infarct volume, brain injury, terminal dexynucleotidyl transferase-mediated d UTP nick end labeling(TUNEL) and B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2) positive cells.RESULTS: The extract was able to reduce neurological scores, cerebral index and cerebral infarction rate. The brain injury was also relieved by the extract. 6Applications of metal–organic frameworks for green energy and environment: New advances in adsorptive gas separation, storage and removal显示文摘The separation of gas molecules with similar physicochemical properties is of high importance but practically entails a substantial energy penalty in chemical industry. Meanwhile, clean energy gases such as H_2 and CH_4 are considered as promising candidates for the replacement of traditional fossil fuels. However, the technologies for the storage of these gases are still immature. In addition, the release of anthropogenic toxic gases into the atmosphere is a worldwide threat of growing concern. Both in academia and industry, considerable research efforts have been devoted to developing advanced porous materials for the effective and energy-efficient separation, storage, or capture of the related gases. In contrast to conventional inorganic porous materials such as zeolites and activated carbons, metal–organic frameworks(MOFs) are considered as a type of promising materials for gas separation and storage. In this contribution, we review the recent research advance of MOFs in some relevant applications, including CO_2 capture, O_2 purification, separation of light hydrocarbons, separation of noble gases, storage of gases(CH_4,H_2, and C_2 H_2) for energy, and removal of some gaseous air pollutants(NH_3, NO_2, and SO_2). 7An HBV-encoded miRNA activates innate immunity to restrict HBV replication显示文摘We previously identified that hepatitis B virus(HBV)encodes a microRNA(HBV-miR-3)that restrains HBV replication by targeting the HBV transcript.However,whether HBV-miR-3 affects host innate immunity to modulate HBV replication remains unclear.Here,we examined the vital functions of HBV-miR-3 in the innate immune response after HBV infection.We found that HBV-miR-3 expression gradually increased in a dose-and time-dependent manner in HBV-infected HepG2-NTCP cells.HBV-miR-3 activated the JAK/STAT signaling pathway by downregulating SOCS5 in hepatocytes,thereby enhancing the IFN-induced anti-HBV effect.In addition,HBVmiR-3 in exosomes facilitated the Ml polarization of macrophages.Furthermore,exosomes containing HBV-miR-3 enhanced the secretion of IL-6 via inhibiting the SOCS5-mediated ubiquitination of EGFR.In short,these results demonstrate that HBV-miR-3 activates the innate immune response to restrain HBV replication by multiple pathways,which may suppress HBV-induced acute liver cell injury and affect the progression of persistent HBV infection.Xiaoqing Zhao Lu Sun Ting Mu Jianying Yi Chaoqun Ma Hong Xie Min Liu Hua Tang 2020Journal of Molecular Cell Biology2020,12,4:17

9Application of next-generation sequencing technology to precision medicine in cancer: joint consensus of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology显示文摘Next-generation sequencing(NGS) technology is capable of sequencing millions or billions of DNA molecules simultaneously.Therefore, it represents a promising tool for the analysis of molecular targets for the initial diagnosis of disease, monitoring of disease progression, and identifying the mechanism of drug resistance. On behalf of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology(CSCO) and the China Actionable Genome Consortium(CAGC), the present expert group hereby proposes advisory guidelines on clinical applications of NGS technology for the analysis of cancer driver genes for precision cancer therapy. This group comprises an assembly of laboratory cancer geneticists, clinical oncologists, bioinformaticians,pathologists, and other professionals. After multiple rounds of discussions and revisions, the expert group has reached a preliminary consensus on the need of NGS in clinical diagnosis, its regulation, and compliance standards in clinical sample collection. 10Phugoid dynamic characteristic of hypersonic gliding vehicles显示文摘This paper focuses on the phugoid dynamic characteristic of hypersonic gliding vehicle. By regarding equilibrium glide as the fixed state of reentry trajectory, the dynamic equations are simplified and a hyper-geometric equation with a forcing function is deduced. Linearization theory is applied to analyze the characteristic of the motion, and the phugoid mode is found to be stable. An analytical solution of flight path angle as a function of speed is derived based on General Multiple Scale theory. The dynamic characteristic is analyzed, and the analytic solution is found to be in good agreement with the numerical simulation. When the initial states do not satisfy equilibrium glide condition or perturbation occurs, a damped oscillation along the equilibrium glide trajectory would occur. The damping diminishes as the speed decreases. 13Mega-shoaling in carbonate platform of the Middle Triassic Leikoupo Formation,Sichuan Basin, Southwest China显示文摘Shoaling is a common type of sedimentation in the evolution of carbonate platform,and commonly has poor continuity.This paper presents a newly discovered and rare type of shoaling,i.e.,mega-shoaling in nearly basin scale,which is developed in the Middle Triassic Leikoupo Formation of the Sichuan Basin,southwest China.During the Leikoupo time,the studied Sichuan Basin experienced hot and dry climate conditions and developed a carbonate platform within a restricted epicontinental sea.In B sub-layer of the Lei-1-1 sub-member of the Leikoupo Formation a series of grainstones of shoal facies accumulated throughout almost the entire basin,thereby generating features associated with basin-scale mega-shoaling.By detailed core examination and microscopic observation of thin sections,it is shown that the lithology of this set of grainstones is dominated by doloarenite(calcarenite)followed by oolitic dolomite(limestone).In addition,it contains three types of sedimentary sequences characterized by upward-coarsening and upward-shallowing as the followings:restricted lagoon to platform interior beach;restricted lagoon to platform interior beach and to platform flat;and tidal flat to peritidal beach.Subsequently,a multicyclic stratigraphic division and correlation revealed that this set of grainstones can be well traced and compared horizontally,and is generally isochronous.In addition,a template for logging facies,established based on core calibrations and logging data,was employed to analyze the 235 wells in the basin.The results demonstrate the shoal grainstones to be 10–40 m thick with a15×104km2continuous distribution area.These findings indicate that the carbonate platform developed mega-shoals within a short period of time.The genesis of such a mega-shoaling was investigated by focusing on various shoaling conditions,such as paleo-tectonics,paleo-geomorphology,paleo-climate,sea-level changes,and palaeo-hydrodynamics.A specific combination of independent geological factors creates beneficial geomorphologic conditions for the mega-shoaling including a quiescent paleo-tectonic environment,relatively flat paleo-geomorphology and evaporites filling up and leveling off.In addition,a stably settling carbonate platform underwent sea-level fluctuations through swift transgressions and protracted regressions,which is not only conducive to continuous,multicyclic and superimposed vertical development of grain beaches but also beneficial for the horizontal migration,coalescence and superimposition of individual grain beaches.As a consequence,large-scale and continuously-distributed grain beach sedimentation emerges and mega-shoals develop.TAN XiuCheng LI Ling LIU Hong CAO Jian WU XiaoQing ZHOU SuYan SHI XueWen 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,3:12

16Exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and risk for premature ovarian failure and reproductive hormones imbalance显示文摘Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)are a typical class of persistent organic pollutants that is ubiquitous worldwide.Previous animal studies suggested that PAHs had adverse effects on female reproduction.However,the human data regarding relationship of PAHs exposure with women reproductive health,such as ovarian dysfunction,are scarce.In this case-control study,the associations of serum levels of PAHs with the risk of premature ovarian failure(POF)and reproductive hormones in Chinese women were investigated,with recruiting 157 POF patients and 217 healthy women.The serum levels of 12 types of PAHs,as well as reproductive hormones,including follicle-stimulating hormone,luteinizing hormone and anti-mullerian hormone,were determined.In the logistic regression models,most individual PAH congeners showed significantly positive correlations with the risk of POF(p<0.05),except for fluorine and pyrene.Benzo(a)pyrene(BaP),as the most carcinogenic PAH congener,was observed to be significantly positively associated with the risk of POF.After adjustment for age,body mass index,educational levels and household income,per one-unit increase in the log-transformed BaP concentration was significantly correlated with 2.191-fold increased risk of POF(OR=2.191,95%CI:1.634-2.938,p<0.05).To the best of our knowledge,this is the first study to report an association between internal exposure levels of PAHs and the increased risk of POF in women.Xiaoqing Ye Wuye Pan Chunming Li Xiaochen Ma Shanshan Yin Jianhong Zhou Jing Liu 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,5:10
17Recent progress and challenges of carbon materials for Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors显示文摘Zinc-ion hybrid supercapacitors(ZHSCs)have garnered increasing attention as promising energy storage devices in recent years,as they combine the advantages of high-energy Zn-ion batteries and high-power supercapacitors.However,the development of ZHSCs is still in its infancy and there are many bottlenecks to overcome.In particular,the challenge induced by the limited ion adsorption capability of carbon-positive electrodes severely restricts the energy density of ZHSCs.Therefore,it has become a key issue to design novel carbon-positive electrodes that enable high energy density yet do not deteriorate the intrinsic power capability and long-term durability.This study focuses on recent achievements in synthesis,morphology,and electrochemical performance of various carbon materials applied in ZHSCs.The modification strategies to optimize their electrochemical performance are briefly summarized.In addition,current challenges and future opportunities in this field are also outlined.This review will be beneficial to provide an organized framework for the research systems of carbon-positive electrodes and develop novel ZHSCs with high energy density.Qiyu Liu Haozhe Zhang Jinhao Xie Xiaoqing Liu Xihong Lu 2020Carbon Energy2020,2,4:10
18Toripalimab plus chemotherapy as second-line treatment in previously EGFR-TKI treated patients with EGFR-mutant-advanced NSCLC:a multicenter phase-II trial显示文摘This multicenter phase-II trial aimed to investigate the efficacy,safety,and predictive biomarkers of toripalimab plus chemotherapy as second-line treatment in patients with EGFR-mutant-advanced NSCLC.Patients who failed from first-line EGFR-TKIs and did not harbor T790M mutation were enrolled.Toripalimab plus carboplatin and pemetrexed were administrated every three weeks for up to six cycles,followed by the maintenance of toripalimab and pemetrexed.The primary endpoint was objective-response rate(ORR).Integrated biomarker analysis of PD-L1 expression,tumor mutational burden(TMB),CD8+tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte(TIL)density,whole-exome,and transcriptome sequencing on tumor biopsies were also conducted.Forty patients were enrolled with an overall ORR of 50.0%and disease-control rate(DCR)of 87.5%.The median progression free survival(PFS)and overall survival were 7.0 and 23.5 months,respectively.The most common treatment-related adverse effects were leukopenia,neutropenia,anemia,ALT/AST elevation,and nausea.Biomarker analysis showed that none of PD-L1 expression,TMB level,and CD8+TIL density could serve as a predictive biomarker.Integrated analysis of whole-exome and transcriptome sequencing data revealed that patients with DSPP mutation had a decreased M2 macrophage infiltration and associated with longer PFS than those of wild type.Toripalimab plus chemotherapy showed a promising anti-tumor activity with acceptable safety profiles as the second-line setting in patients with EGFR-mutant NSCLC.DSPP mutation might serve as a potential biomarker for this combination.A phase-III trial to compare toripalimab versus placebo in combination with chemotherapy in this setting is ongoing(NCT03924050).Tao Jiang Pingyang Wang Jie Zhang Yanqiu Zhao Jianying Zhou Yun Fan Yongqian Shu Xiaoqing Liu Helong Zhang Jianxing He Guanghui Gao Xiaoqian Mu Zhang Bao Yanjun Xu Renhua Guo Hong Wang Lin Deng Ningqiang Ma Yalei Zhang Hui Feng Sheng Yao Jiarui Wu Luonan Chen Caicun Zhou Shengxiang Ren 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,11:8
19Discriminated sgRNAs-Based SurroGate System Greatly Enhances the Screening Efficiency of Plant Base-Edited Cells显示文摘The development of CRISPR/Cas9-mediated base editing has made genomic modification more efficient. However, selection of genetically modified cells from millions of treated cells, especially plant cells, is still challenging. In this study, an efficient surrogate reporter system based on a defective hygromycin resistance gene was established in rice to enrich base-edited cells. After step-by-step optimization, the Discriminated sgRNAs-based SurroGate system (DisSUGs) was established by artificially differentiating the editing abilities of a wild-type single guide RNA (sgRNA) targeting the surrogate reporter gene and an enhanced sgRNA targeting endogenous sites. The DisSUGs enhanced the efficiency of screening base-edited cells by 3- to 5-fold for a PmCDA1-based cytosine-to-tyrosine base editor (PCBE), and 2.5- to 6.5-fold for an adenine base editor (ABE) at endogenous targets. These targets showed editing efficiencies of <25% in the conventional systems. The DisSUGs greatly enhanced the frequency of homozygous substitutions and expanded the activity window slightly for both a PCBE and an ABE. Analyses of the total number of single-nucleotide variants from whole-genome sequencing revealed that, compared with the no-enrichment PCBE strategy, the DisSUGs did not alter the frequency of genome-wide sgRNA-independent off-target mutations, but slightly increased the frequency of target-dependent off-target mutations. 20Fruit and vegetable consumption,cardiovascular disease,and all-cause mortality in China显示文摘Evidence about the response patterns of fruit and vegetable consumption with the risk of cardiovascular disease(CVD)and allcause mortality was inconsistent.These associations were examined using a large-scale,population-based Chinese cohort comprising 100,728 participants.A food-frequency questionnaire was used to assess fruit and vegetable consumption.Outcomes were ascertained by interviewing individuals or their proxies and checking hospital records or death certificates.Cox proportional hazards regression was used to calculate hazard ratios(HRs)with 95% confidence intervals(CIs).At the 736,668 person-years of follow-up,3,677 CVD cases and 5,466 deaths were identified.The multivariable-adjusted HRs for CVD across increasing quartiles of total fruit and vegetable consumption were 1(reference),0.94(95%CI=0.85-1.04),0.89(95%CI=0.80-0.98),and 0.85(95%CI=0.77-0.95).Moreover,participants in the highest quartile displayed a 13% lower risk of all-cause mortality(HR=0.87;95%CI=0.80-0.95).A nonlinear dose-response relation was found for CVD,without additional benefits beyond a consumption of600 g d-1,whereas the all-cause mortality risk decreased along with higher consumption,with a linear trend.These associations remained significant for fruit consumption but not for vegetable consumption.Our findings indicated that greater fruit and vegetable consumption was significantly associated with a lower risk of CVD and all-cause mortality.Increasing fruit and vegetable consumption,especially fruit,in the general population would prevent CVD and premature mortality.Jun Wang Fangchao Liu Jianxin Li Keyong Huang Xueli Yang Jichun Chen Xiaoqing Liu Jie Cao Shufeng Chen Chong Shen Ling Yu Fanghong Lu Xianping Wu Liancheng Zhao Ying Li Dongsheng Hu Jianfeng Huang Dongfeng Gu Xiangfeng Lu 2022Science China(Life Sciences)2022,65,1:8
