| 1 | Comparative Analysis of JmjC Domain-containing Proteins Reveals the Potential Histone Demethylases in Arabidopsis and Rice显示文摘Histone methylation homeostasis is achieved by controlling the balance between methylation and demethylation to maintain chromatin function and developmental regulation. In animals, a conserved Jumonji C (JmjC) domain was found in a large group of histone demethylases. However, it is still unclear whether plants also contain the JmjC domaincontaining active histone demethylases. Here we performed genome-wide screen and phylogenetic analysis of JmjC domain-containing proteins in the dicot plant, Arabidopsis, and monocot plant rice, and found 21 and 20 JmjC domaincontaining, respectively. We also examined the expression of JmjC domain-containing proteins and compared them to human JmjC counterparts for potential enzymatic activity. The spatial expression patterns of the Arabidopsis JmjC domaincontaining genes revealed that they are all actively transcribed genes. | 3 | Application of next-generation sequencing technology to precision medicine in cancer: joint consensus of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology显示文摘Next-generation sequencing(NGS) technology is capable of sequencing millions or billions of DNA molecules simultaneously.Therefore, it represents a promising tool for the analysis of molecular targets for the initial diagnosis of disease, monitoring of disease progression, and identifying the mechanism of drug resistance. On behalf of the Tumor Biomarker Committee of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology(CSCO) and the China Actionable Genome Consortium(CAGC), the present expert group hereby proposes advisory guidelines on clinical applications of NGS technology for the analysis of cancer driver genes for precision cancer therapy. This group comprises an assembly of laboratory cancer geneticists, clinical oncologists, bioinformaticians,pathologists, and other professionals. After multiple rounds of discussions and revisions, the expert group has reached a preliminary consensus on the need of NGS in clinical diagnosis, its regulation, and compliance standards in clinical sample collection. | 5 | Key residues of the receptor binding motif in the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 that interact with ACE2 and neutralizing antibodies显示文摘Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),caused by the novel human coronavirus SARS-CoV-2,is currently a major threat to public health worldwide.The viral spike protein binds the host receptor angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2)via the receptor-binding domain(RBD),and thus is believed to be a major target to block viral entry.Both SARS-CoV-2 and SARS-CoV share this mechanism.Here we functionally analyzed the key amino acid residues located within receptor binding motif of RBD that may interact with human ACE2 and available neutralizing antibodies.The in vivo experiments showed that immunization with either the SARS-CoV RBD or SARS-CoV-2 RBD was able to induce strong clade-specific neutralizing antibodies in mice;however,the cross-neutralizing activity was much weaker,indicating that there are distinct antigenic features in the RBDs of the two viruses.This finding was confirmed with the available neutralizing monoclonal antibodies against SARS-CoV or SARS-CoV-2.It is worth noting that a newly developed SARS-CoV-2 human antibody,HA001,was able to neutralize SARS-CoV-2,but failed to recognize SARS-CoV.Moreover,the potential epitope residues of HA001 were identified as A475 and F486 in the SARS-CoV-2 RBD,representing new binding sites for neutralizing antibodies.Overall,our study has revealed the presence of different key epitopes between SARS-CoV and SARSCoV-2,which indicates the necessity to develop new prophylactic vaccine and antibody drugs for specific control of the COVID-19 pandemic although the available agents obtained from the SARS-CoV study are unneglectable. | Chunyan Yi Xiaoyu Sun Jing Ye Longfei Ding Meiqin Liu Zhuo Yang Xiao Lu Yaguang Zhang Liyang Ma Wangpeng Gu Aidong Qu Jianqing Xu Zhengli Shi Zhiyang Ling Bing Sun | 2020 | Cellular & Molecular Immunology2020,17,6: | 13 |
| 6 | Association of KIR Genotypes and Haplotypes with Susceptibility to Chronic Hepatitis B Virus Infection in Chinese Han Population显示文摘Killer immunoglobulin-like receptor (KIR) genes can regulate the activation of NK and T cells upon interaction with HLA class I molecules. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection has been regarded as a multi-factorial disorder disease. Previous studies revealed that KIRs were involved in HCV and HIV infection or clearance. The aim of this study was to explore the possibility of the inheritance of KIR genotypes and haplotypes as a candidate for susceptibility to persistent HBV infection or HBV clearance. The sequence specific primer polymerase chain reaction (SSP-PCR) was employed to identify the KIR genes and pseudogenes in 150 chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients, 251 spontaneously recovered (SR) controls, and 412 healthy controls. The frequencies of genotype G, M, FZ1 increased in CHB patients compared with healthy control subjects. The frequency of genotype AH was higher in SR controls than that in both CHB patients and healthy controls. The carriage frequencies of genotype G and AH were higher; while, the frequencies of AF and AJ were lower in SR controls than those in healthy control subjects. The frequency of A haplotype was lower, whereas, the frequency of B haplotype was higher in CHB patients and SR controls than those in healthy controls. In healthy controls, haplotype 4 was found lower compared with that in CHB patients and SR controls and the frequency of haplotype 5 was higher in SR controls than that in other two groups. Based on these findings, it seems that the genotypes M and FZ1 are HBV susceptive genotypes; AH, on the other hand, may be protective genotypes that facilitate the clearance of HBV. | 10 | Autumn Photoproduction of Carbon Monoxide in Jiaozhou Bay, China显示文摘Carbon monoxide(CO) plays a significant role in global warming and atmospheric chemistry. Global oceans are net natural sources of atmospheric CO. CO at surface ocean is primarily produced from the photochemical degradation of chromophoric dissolved organic matter(CDOM). In this study, the effects of photobleaching, temperature and the origin(terrestrial or marine) of CDOM on the apparent quantum yields(AQY) of CO were studied for seawater samples collected from Jiaozhou Bay. Our results demonstrat that photobleaching, temperature and the origin of CDOM strongly affected the efficiency of CO photoproduction. The concentration, absorbance and fluorescence of CDOM exponentially decreased with increasing light dose. Terrestrial riverine organic matter could be more prone to photodegradation than the marine algae-derived one. The relationships between CO AQY and the dissolved organic carbon-specific absorption coefficient at 254 nm for the photobleaching study were nonlinear, whereas those of the original samples were strongly linear. This suggests that: 1) terrestrial riverine CDOM was more efficient than marine algae-derived CDOM for CO photoproduction; 2) aromatic and olefinic moieties of the CDOM pool were affected more strongly by degradation processes than by aliphatic ones. Water temperature and the origin of CDOM strongly affected the efficiency of CO photoproduction. The photoproduction rate of CO in autumn was estimated to be 31.98 μmol m-2 d-1 and the total DOC photomineralization was equivalent to 3.25%- 6.35% of primary production in Jiaozhou Bay. | 11 | Impact of land use/land cover changes on ecosystem services in the Nenjiang River Basin, Northeast China显示文摘Introduction:The Nenjiang River Basin is an important foodstuff base and eco-environmental fragile area in Northeast China.With the rapid rise in human population,human-induced changes in land use/land cover form an important component of regional environment and ecosystem service change.At the local and regional level,the ecosystem service concept can act as a decision support tool for a stakeholder to reach sustainable land use management.However,the prevailing ecosystem service evaluation would produce a biggish warp when it is applied to concrete area.So,it is essential to evaluate ecosystem service change according to the local actuality.Method:According to 1:250,000 land use/land cover maps of China and the adjusted equivalent value per unit area of ecosystem services in the Nenjiang River Basin,we evaluated the ecosystem service change of the river basin from 1980 to 2005.Results:The forest and wetland,which are mainly located in the upstream mountainous area of the Nenjiang River Basin,were the two valuable land cover types,accounting for more than three quarters of the total ecosystem service value of the river basin.As for individual ecosystem service,besides the food production,all of the ecosystem service values declined from 1980 to 2005.The total decline of 2.43 billion USD was mainly due to the cultivation of grassland(14.34%of the area in 1980)and wetland(4.62%of the area in 1980)in the downstream plain.Conclusions:Due to the increase in population and the concomitant requirement of grain,the inconsistency between decision-making at the macro-level,and the objective of agricultural production at the micro-level,cultivated land was increased through zealous reclamation of grassland,marginal woodland,and even fallow land.Tremendous land use/land cover changes had caused great damages to the ecological environment such as land degradation and ecosystem service recession.So,the policies of the Grain for Green and Construction of Ecological Province projects should be well-implemented to optimize land use/land cover. | Zhiliang Wang Zongming Wang Bai Zhang Chunyan Lu Chunying Ren | 2015 | Ecological Processes2015,4,1: | 5 |

| 14 | Validation of the Nanjing Criteria for Diagnosing Pyrrolizidine Alkaloids-induced Hepatic Sinusoidal Obstruction Syndrome显示文摘Background and Aims:Hepatic sinusoidal obstruction syndrome(HSOS)is caused by toxic injury to sinusoidal endothelial cells in the liver.The intake of pyrrolizidine alkaloids(PAs)in some Chinese herbal remedies/plants remains the major etiology for HSOS in China.Recently,new diagnostic criteria for PA-induced HSOS(i.e.PA-HSOS)have been developed;however,the efficacy has not been clinically validated.This study aimed to assess the performance of the Nanjing criteria for PA-HSOS.Methods:Data obtained from consecutive patients in multiple hospitals,which included 86 PA-HSOS patients and 327 patients with other liver diseases,were retrospectively analyzed.Then,the diagnostic performance of the Nanjing criteria and simplified Nanjing criteria were evaluated and validated.The study is registered in www.chictr.org.cn(ID:ChiCTR1900020784).Results:The Nanjing criteria have a sensitivity and specificity of 95.35%and 100%,respectively,while the simplified Nanjing criteria have a sensitivity and specificity of 96.51%and 96.33%,respectively,for the diagnosis of PA-HSOS.Notably,a proportion of patients with Budd-Chiari syndrome(11/49)was misdiagnosed as PA-HSOS on the basis of the simplified Nanjing criteria,and this was mainly due to the overlapping features in the enhanced computed tomography/magnetic resonance imaging examinations.Furthermore,most of these patients(10/11)had occlusion or thrombosis of the hepatic vein,and communicating vessels in the liver were found in 8/11 patients,which were absent in PA-HSOS patients.Conclusions:The Nanjing criteria and simplified Nanjing criteria exhibit excellent performance in diagnosing PA-HSOS.Thus,both could be valuable diagnostic tools in clinical practice. | Wei Zhang Lu Liu Ming Zhang Feng Zhang Chunyan Peng Bin Zhang Jun Chen Lin Li Jian He Jiangqiang Xiao Yanhong Feng Xunjiang Wang Aizhen Xiong Li Yang Xiaoping Zou Yuecheng Yu Yuzheng Zhuge | 2021 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2021,9,3: | 4 |

| 16 | Image retrieval based on multi-concept detector and semantic correlation显示文摘With the rapid development of future network, there has been an explosive growth in multimedia data such as web images. Hence, an efficient image retrieval engine is necessary. Previous studies concentrate on the single concept image retrieval, which has limited practical usability. In practice, users always employ an Internet image retrieval system with multi-concept queries, but, the related existing approaches are often ineffective because the only combination of single-concept query techniques is adopted. At present semantic concept based multi-concept image retrieval is becoming an urgent issue to be solved. In this paper, a novel Multi-Concept image Retrieval Model(MCRM) based on the multi-concept detector is proposed, which takes a multi-concept as a whole and directly learns each multi-concept from the rearranged multi-concept training set. After the corresponding retrieval algorithm is presented, and the log-likelihood function of predictions is maximized by the gradient descent approach. Besides, semantic correlations among single-concepts and multiconcepts are employed to improve the retrieval performance, in which the semantic correlation probability is estimated with three correlation measures, and the visual evidence is expressed by Bayes theorem, estimated by Support Vector Machine(SVM). Experimental results on Corel and IAPR data sets show that the approach outperforms the state-of-the-arts.
