| 2 | Effects of Dietary Corn Gluten Meal on Growth Performance and Protein Metabolism in Relation to IGF-I and TOR Gene Expression of Juvenile Cobia (Rachycentron canadum)显示文摘A growth experiment was conducted on cobia(Rachycentron canadum,initial weight 108.2 g ± 3.0 g) to investigate the effects of dietary corn gluten meal(CGM) levels on the fish growth,whole body composition and protein metabolism in relation to specific gene expression.Five isonitrogenous(crude protein 45%) and isoenergetic(gross energy 20 kJ g 1) practical diets were formulated by replacing 0%(the control),17.5%,35.0%,52.5%,and 70.0% of fish meal(FM) protein with CGM protein.No significant differences were observed in the survival,feed intake(FI),specific growth rate(SGR),feed efficiency(FE) and protein productive value(PPV) among fish fed diets with 0%,17.5%,35.0%,and 52.5% of CGM protein.However,these indices were significantly lower in fish fed the diet with 70.0% of CGM protein than those in fish fed the control diet(P < 0.05).The whole-body crude protein and lipid contents were significantly lower while the whole-body moisture content was significantly higher in fish fed the diet with 70.0% of CGM protein compared with the control group(P < 0.05).When 70.0% of FM protein was replaced by CGM,plasma total protein and cholesterol contents were significantly lower than those in the control group(P < 0.05).Fish fed the diet with 70.0% of CGM protein had significantly lower hepatic insulin-like growth factor I(IGF-I) expression levels than those in the control group(P < 0.05).However,no significant differences were observed in hepatic target of rapamycin(TOR),dorsal muscle IGF-I and TOR expression levels among dietary treatments.Results of the present study indicated that 52.5% of FM protein could be replaced by CGM in the diets without significant influences on the growth,feed utilization and protein metabolism of juvenile cobia.The present results might be useful for developing cost effective and sustainable cobia dietary formulations. | LUO Yiwen AI Qinghui MAI Kangsen ZHANG Wenbing XU Wei ZHANG Yanjiao LIUFU Zhiguo | 2013 | Journal of Ocean University of China2013,12,3: | 10 |

| 4 | Sex disparity of lung cancer risk in non-smokers:a multicenter population-based prospective study based on China National Lung Cancer Screening Program显示文摘Background: Non-smokers account for a large proportion of lung cancer patients, especially in Asia, but the attention paid to them is limited compared with smokers. In non-smokers, males display a risk for lung cancer incidence distinct from the females-even after excluding the influence of smoking;but the knowledge regarding the factors causing the difference is sparse. Based on a large multicenter prospective cancer screening cohort in China, we aimed to elucidate the interpretable sex differences caused by known factors and provide clues for primary and secondary prevention.Methods: Risk factors including demographic characteristics, lifestyle factors, family history of cancer, and baseline comorbidity were obtained from 796,283 Chinese non-smoking participants by the baseline risk assessment completed in 2013 to 2018. Cox regression analysis was performed to assess the sex difference in the risk of lung cancer, and the hazard ratios (HRs) that were adjusted for different known factors were calculated and compared to determine the proportion of excess risk and to explain the existing risk factors.Results: With a median follow-up of 4.80 years, 3351 subjects who were diagnosed with lung cancer were selected in the analysis. The lung cancer risk of males was significantly higher than that of females;the HRs in all male non-smokers were 1.29 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.20-1.38) after adjusting for the age and 1.38 (95% CI: 1.28-1.50) after adjusting for all factors, which suggested that known factors could not explain the sex difference in the risk of lung cancer in non-smokers. Known factors were 7% (|1.29-1.38|/1.29) more harmful in women than in men. For adenocarcinoma, women showed excess risk higher than men, contrary to squamous cell carcinoma;after adjusting for all factors, 47% ([1.30-1.16]/[1.30-1]) and 4% ([7.02-6.75]/[7.02-1])) of the excess risk was explainable in adenocarcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. The main causes of gender differences in lung cancer risk were lifestyle factors, baseline comorbidity, and family history.Conclusions: Significant gender differences in the risk of lung cancer were discovered in China non-smokers. | 7 | Transformation mechanism and fate of dissolved organic nitrogen(DON) in a full-scale drinking water treatment显示文摘Dissolved organic nitrogen(DON) has attracted much attention in drinking water treatment due to its potential to produce nitrogenous disinfection by-products(N-DBPs). This work was designed to explore the transformation and fate of DON and dissolved inorganic nitrogen(DIN) in drinking water treatment. The changes of DON and formation of N-DBPs were evaluated along the water treatment route(i.e., pre-ozonation and biologicalcontact oxidation, delivery pipes’ transportation, coagulation-sedimentation, sand filtration, post-ozonation, biological activated carbon, ultrafiltration and disinfection) of drinking water treatment plant(DWTP). The transformation mechanism of DON was comprehensively investigated by molecular weight fractionation, three-dimensional fluorescence, LCOCD(Liquid Chromatography-Organic Carbon Detection), total free amino acids. A detailed comparison was made between concentrations and variations of DON and DIN affected by seasons in the drinking water treatment. Regardless of seasonal variation in raw water concentration, the DON removal trends between different treatment processes remain constant in the present study. Compared to other treatment processes, pre-ozonation and coagulation-sedimentation exhibited the dominant DON removal in different seasons, i.e.,11.13%-14.45% and 14.98%-22.49%, respectively. Contrary, biological-contact oxidation and biological activated carbon negatively impacted the DON removal, in which DON increased by 1.76%-6.49% in biological activated carbon. | 8 | Removal of Intralenticular Magnetic Foreign Bodies with Intraocular Magnet显示文摘Purpose: To investigate the possibility of conservation of the lens after removal of intralenticular magnetic foreign bodies with intraocular magnet.Methods: Intralenticular magnetic foreign bodies of 15 patients were removed by using an intraocular magnet. The lens of each injury eye was conserved. Follow-up observation of these cases ranged from one to four years.Results: The intralenticular magnetic foreign bodies of 15 patients were successfully removed.The lens of each injury eye was conserved and the transparence of the lens was properly maintained. Sizes of these foreign bodies were measured, ranging from 0.3 mm to 3mm in diameter. The follow-up observation showed that the corrected visual acuity of 14 cases was not changed after operation.Conclusions: The intraocular magnet is very helpful for removal of magnetic foreign bodies from the transparent lens. This magnet allows removing of the foreign body by the surgeon and no damage to the lens was induced during the operation. | 12 | TiO_2@MgO Core-Shell Film:Fabrication and Application to Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells显示文摘In this study,TiO2@MgO core-shell film was obtained by using a simple chemical bath deposition method to coat a thin MgO film around TiO2 nanoparticles. The core-shell configuration was characterized by X-ray diffractometer (XRD),scanning elec-tron microscopy (SEM),energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX),and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM). Lattice fringes were observed for the TiO2 particles,and the MgO shell showed an amorphous structure,revealing a clear distinction between the core and shell materials. Applying the core-shell film as photoanode to the dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs),it shows a superior performance compared to the pure TiO2 electrode. | 14 | Design and in-situ construct BiOI/Bi/TiO_(2)photocatalysts with metal-mediated heterostructures employing oxygen vacancies in TiO_(2)nanosheets显示文摘The conventional p-n heterojunction photocatalysts suffer from the incompatibility between the interfacial charge transfer efficiency and the redox ability of charge carriers.To optimize the interfacial charge transfer of the conventional BiOI/TiO_(2) p-n photocatalyst,we synthesized the BiOI/Bi/TiO_(2) ternary photocatalyst with sandwiched metallic bismuth(Bi~0)by the oxygen-vacancy assisted method.The DFT calculation and structural characterizations confirmed the reaction of the electron-rich oxygen vacancies in the 2D-TiO_(2) nanosheets(TiO_(2)-NS)with the adsorbed BiO~+species.This reaction broke the Bi-O bonds to form Bi^(0) nanoparticles in-situ at the interface but still maintained the p-n heterojunction well.The NO-TPD and XRD analyses for samples correlated the Bi~0 formation with the oxygen vacancy concentrations well.The sandwiched Bi~0 functioned as an electronic transfer mediator like that in the Z-scheme heterostructure.Comparing with 0.20 BiOI/TiO_(2)-NP(NP,Nanoparticles),0.20 BiOI/Bi/TiO_(2)-NS-a(NS,Nanosheet)showed a much improved catalytic performance,i.e.,duplicated apparent quantum yield(AQY)and triplicated reaction rate constant(k).Also,the formation mechanism and the reaction mechanism were investigated in detail.This work provides a new strategy for the improving of the conventional p-n photocatalysts and new insights into the nature of the photocatalysis. | Chenchen Zhang Wenbin Chen Dairong Hu Hanjie Xie Yibing Song Binbin Luo Yiwen Fang Wenhua Gao Ziyi Zhong | 2022 | Green Energy & Environment2022,7,4: | 0 |
| 15 | Geological Controls on High Production of Tight Sandstone Gas in Linxing Block, Eastern Ordos Basin, China显示文摘Tight sandstone gas in the Linxing Block, eastern Ordos Basin, has been successfully exploited. The high performance is mainly a result of the special geological conditions. The key geological controls for high production have been discussed on the basis of seismic data, field observation, sample features, mercury porosimetry, mechanical properties, and basin modeling. Firstly, the coal measures have good gas generation potential, not only because of the existence of coalbeds and organic-rich shales, but also because coal laminae and microbial mats in the shales significantly increase their total organic carbon(TOC) contents. Secondly, except for the uplifted zone of the Zijinshan complex and the eastern fault zone, rare large faults develop in the Carboniferous–Permian sequence, ensuing the sealing capacity of cap rock. Small fractures generally concentrated in the sandstones rather than the mudstones. Thirdly, gas accumulation in the Linxing Block was controlled by the tectonic, burial and thermal histories. Gas accumulation in the Linxing Block started in the Late Triassic, followed by three short pauses of thermal maturation caused by relatively small uplifts;the maximum hydrocarbon generation period is the Early Cetaceous as a combined result of regional and magmatic thermal metamorphisms. Field profiles show abundant fractures in sandstone beds but rare fractures in mudstone beds. Mechanical properties, determined by lithostratigraphy, confine the fractures in the sandstones, increasing the permeability of sandstone reservoirs and retaining the sealing capacity of the mudstone cap rocks. The modern ground stress conditions favor the opening of predominant natural fractures in the NNW-SSE and N-S directions. | 17 | Controlled Growth of ZnO Array on FTO Glass Substrate by Electrodeposition显示文摘In this study, ZnO nanotube and nanorod array films were respectively synthesized directly on F-doped SnO2 glass substrate (FTO) using a direct electrodeposition from a simple aqueous zinc salt solution. The effects of potential value, electro-deposition mode and solution stirring speed on the product morphology were investigated. Controlling the reaction under poten-tiostatic condition of -0.7 V at stirring speed of 300 r/min, large-scale nanotube arrays perpendicular to the substrate can be synthesized at a low temperature of 70 ℃. By varying the reaction parameters, we can also obtain ZnO nanorod arrays. The results of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy have been provided to characterize the structure and morphology of the nanotube and nanorod arrays. Experiment results show that the as-obtained ZnO has a single crystalline structure and c-axis oriented direction. The room-temperature photolu-minescence spectrum of the ZnO nanotube array film displayed its high crystal property available as a photonic material. | 20 | Fabrication of Durable Superhydrophobic Stainless Steel Mesh with Nano/Micro Flower-Like Morphologies for Self-Cleaning and Efficient Oil/Water Separation显示文摘How to fabricate durable superhydrophobic materials for cyclic oil/water separation to solve oil-induced pollutions is still a problem.Herein,we fabricated a durable Superhydrophobic Stainless Steel Mesh(SH-SSM)with nano/micro flower-like sheets by self-assembly of zinc stearate for the cyclic separation of various oil/water mixtures.The SH-SSM exhibits durable superhydrophobicity against static or dynamic treatments.In virtue of durable superhydrophobicity of the SH-SSM,the dusts on surface of SH-SSM can be removed completely by running water immediately showing excellent self-cleaning performance.Moreover,the SH-SSM can be used to perform gravity-driven separation of heavy oil/water and light oil/water mixtures by utilizing its superhydrophobicity that oil phase penetrates the mesh and water phase is restricted.Separation efficiencies of the SH-SSM can reach 99.99%.After 20 cycles of separation,the separation efficiencies for are>97.00%and>98.25%for heavy oil/water and light oil/water mixtures,respectively.Flux values of dichloromethane,hexane and petroleum ether are 2.5×10^(5) L m^(−2) h^(−1),1.7×10^(5) L m^(−2) h^(−1),and 1.8×10^(5) L m^(−2) h^(−1),respectively.This study proposes a facial approach to prepare durable superhydrophobic and self-cleaning material for cyclic and fast separation of oil/water. | Changlian Xu Yitong Luo Lu Zhou Yiwen Bi Hao Sun | 2022 | Journal of Bionic Engineering2022,19,6: | 0 |
