1A detailed investigation of low latitude tweek atmospherics observed by the WHU ELF/VLF receiver:2.Occurrence features and associated ionospheric parameters显示文摘As a companion paper to Zhou RX et al.(2020),this study describes application of the automatic detection and analysis module to identify all the tweek atmospherics detectible in the WHU ELF/VLF receiver data collected at Suizhou station during the period of 3 February through 29 February 2016.Detailed analysis of the identified low-latitude tweek events reveals that the occurrence rate varies considerably—from 800 to 6000 tweeks per day,and exhibits a strong diurnal and local time dependence,the peak occurring before local midnight.The diurnal variation of identified tweeks was similar to that of the lightning data obtained by the World-Wide Lightning Location Network(WWLLN)..Estimates of the propagation distance and ionospheric reflection height of tweek atmospherics suggest that the majority(~92%)of the low latitude tweeks originate from the lightning activity within a radius of 4000 km and that they are very likely to reflect from the lower ionospheric D-region at the height range of 75–85 km.At these lower ionospheric reflection altitudes,~74%of the corresponding electron densities from the tweek spectral measurements are within 24.5–27.5 cm^-3.The daily variation of estimated D-region electron densities in the considered period(February 2016)also exhibits a small overall increasing trend from early to later in the month.Juan Yi XuDong Gu Wen Cheng XinYue Tang Long Chen BinBin Ni RuoXian Zhou ZhengYu Zhao Qi Wang LiQing Zhou 2020Earth and Planetary Physics2020,4,3:8
2A detailed investigation of low latitude tweek atmospherics observed by the WHU ELF/VLF receiver:Ⅰ. Automatic detection and analysis method显示文摘As a dispersive wave mode produced by lightning strokes, tweek atmospherics provide important hints of lower ionospheric(i.e., D-region) electron density. Based on data accumulation from the WHU ELF/VLF receiver system, we develop an automatic detection module in terms of the maximum-entropy-spectral-estimation(MESE) method to identify unambiguous instances of low latitude tweeks.We justify the feasibility of our procedure through a detailed analysis of the data observed at the Suizhou Station(31.57°N, 113.32°E) on17 February 2016. A total of 3961 tweeks were registered by visual inspection;the automatic detection method captured 4342 tweeks, of which 3361 were correct ones, producing a correctness percentage of 77.4%(= 3361/4342) and a false alarm rate of 22.6%(= 981/4342).A Short-Time Fourier Transformation(STFT) was also applied to trace the power spectral profiles of identified tweeks and to evaluate the tweek propagation distance. It is found that the fitting accuracy of the frequency–time curve and the relative difference of propagation distance between the two methods through the slope and through the intercept can be used to further improve the accuracy of automatic tweek identification. 3Real-time detection of individual secondary organic aerosol particle from photooxidation of toluene using aerosol time of flight mass spectrometer显示文摘Photooxidation of the aromatic hydrocarbon toluene and its subsequent reactions were carried out using UV-irradiation of toluene/CH3ONO/NO/air mixtures in a home-made smog chamber. The secondary organic aerosols could be formed after those oxidation products of semi-volatile or- ganic compounds were partitioned between gas phase and particle phase. The aerosol time of flight mass spectrometer (ATOFMS) was used to measure size and molecular composition of individual secondary organic aerosol particle. 4Effects of Feiwei granules in the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis:a randomized and placebo-controlled trial显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To document the therapeutic effect of Feiwei granules(FGs) for idiopathic pulmonary fi brosis(IPF).METHODS:One hundred cases with IPF were randomized into the treatment group(80) and control group(20).Both groups were given basic treatment with prednisone.The treatment group was given FGs,and the control group was given Jinshuibao capsules(JCs).Treatment lasted for 6 months.The Medical Research Council Dyspnea Scale(MRCDS),the Saint George's Hospital Respiratory Questionnaire(SGHRQ),pulmonary function,the Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Score(TCMSS),6-min walking test(6MWT) and blood gas analyses were recorded before the study as well as3 months and 6 months after treatment.RESULTS:FGs showed greater efficacy than the control in certain parameters between before the study and 6 months,and between 3 months and 6months,in the MRCDS,some indicators in the SGHRQ,and the TCMSS.There were no significant differences between the treatment group and control group in the remainder of the indices evaluated.In the treatment group,there were significant differences in before and after treatment in the MRCDS,SGHRQ,TCMSS and 6MWT.CONCLUSION:FGs were similar to JCs for IPF treatment.Yu Yang Sun Zengtao Shi Liqing Zhang Yanping Zhou Zhaoshan Zhang Shunan Chao Enxiang 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,4:5

6Application of a screw conveyor with axial tilt blades on a shearer drum and investigation of conveying performance based on DEM显示文摘Screw conveyors are widely employed in industrial fields for conveying bulk materials.The shearer drum which uses the screw conveying principle is responsible for excavation and conveying coal particles onto the chain conveyor.Screw conveyor performance is affected by potential factors,such as the blade axial tilt angle and style,core shaft form and diameter.The effect of blade axial tilt angle on the conveying performance was investigated with the help of DEM.In the case of the screw conveyor,the mass flow rate,and particle axial velocity increased with increasing positive axial tilt angle,and declined with increasing negative axial tilt angle.In the case of the drum,the mass flow rate,particle axial velocity,and loading rate first increased and then decreased with increasing positive axial tilt angle,and decreased with increasing negative axial tilt angle.These results can be considered as a benchmark for screw conveyor and drum structural designs with axial tilt screw blades.Liqing Sun Xiaodi Zhang Qingliang Zeng Kuidong Gao Kao Jiang Jiawei Zhou 2022Particuology2022,20,2:3
73D bioprinting of a biomimetic meniscal scaffold for application in tissue engineering显示文摘Appropriate biomimetic scaffolds created via 3D bioprinting are promising methods for treating damaged menisci.However,given the unique anatomical structure and complex stress environment of the meniscus,many studies have adopted various techniques to take full advantage of different materials,such as the printing combined with infusion,or electrospining,to chase the biomimetic meniscus,which makes the process complicated to some extent.Some researchers have tried to tackle the challenges only by 3D biopringting,while its alternative materials and models have been constrained.In this study,based on a multilayer biomimetic strategy,we optimized the preparation of meniscus-derived bioink,gelatin methacrylate(GelMA)/meniscal extracellular matrix(MECM),to take printability and cytocompatibility into account together.Subsequently,a customized 3D bioprinting system featuring a dual nozzle+multitemperature printing was used to integrate the advantages of polycaprolactone(PCL)and meniscal fibrocartilage chondrocytes(MFCs)-laden GelMA/MECM bioink to complete the biomimetic meniscal scaffold,which had the best biomimetic features in terms of morphology and components.Furthermore,cell viability,mechanics,biodegradation and tissue formation in vivo were performed to ensure that the scaffold had sufficient feasibility and functionality,thereby providing a reliable basis for its application in tissue engineering.Zhou Jian Tian Zhuang Tian Qinyu Peng Liqing Li Kun Luo Xujiang Wang Diaodiao Yang Zhen Jiang Shuangpeng Sui Xiang Huang Jingxiang Liu Shuyun Hao Libo Tang Peifu Yao Qi Guo Quanyi 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,6:3

9Development of a widely targeted volatilomics method for profiling volatilomes in plants显示文摘Volatile organic compounds play essential roles in plant environment interactions as well as determining the fragrance of plants.Although gas chromatography-mass spectrometry-based untargeted metabolo-mics is commonly used to assess plant volatiles,it suffers from high spectral convolution,low detection sensitivity,a limited number of annotated metabolites,and relatively poor reproducibility.Here,we report a widely targeted volatilomics(WTV)method that involves using a“targeted spectra extraction”algorithm to address spectral convolution,constructing a high-coverage MS2 spectral tag library to expand volatile annotation,adapting a multiple reaction monitoring mode to improve sensitivity,and using regression models to adjust for signal drift.The newly developed method was used to profile the volatilome of rice grains.Compared with the untargeted method,the newly developed WTV method shows higher sensitivity(for example,the signal-to-noise ratio of guaicol increased from 4.1 to 18.8),high annotation coverage(the number of annotated volatiles increased from 43 to 132),and better reproducibility(the number of volatiles in quality control samples with relative standard deviation value below 30.0%increased from 14 to 92 after normalization).Using the WTV method,we studied the metabolic responses of tomato to environmental stimuli and profiled the volatilomes of different rice accessions.The results identified benzothiazole as a potential airborne signal priming tomato plants for enhanced defense and 2-nonanone and 2-heptanone as novel aromatic compounds contributing to rice fragrance.These case studies suggest that the widely targeted volatilomics method is more efficient than those currently used and may considerably promote plant volatilomics studies.Honglun Yuan Guangping Cao Xiaodong Hou Menglan Huang Pengmeng Du Tingting Tan Youjin Zhang Haihong Zhou Xianqing Liu Ling Liu Yiding Jiangfang Yufei Li Zhenhuan Liu Chuanying Fang Liqing Zhao Alisdair R.Fernie Jie Luo 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,1:2
10De novo Assembly of Pen Shell(Atrina pectinata) Transcriptome and Screening of Its Genic Microsatellites显示文摘The pen shell(Atrina pectinata) is a large wedge-shaped bivalve, which belongs to family Pinnidae. Due to its large and nutritious adductor muscle, it is the popular seafood with high commercial value in Asia-Pacific countries. However, limiting genomic and transcriptomic data have hampered its genetic investigations. In this study, the transcriptome of A. pectinata was deeply sequenced using Illumina pair-end sequencing technology. After assembling, a total of 127263 unigenes were obtained. Functional annotation indicated that the highest percentage of unigenes(18.60%) was annotated on GO database, followed by 18.44% on PFAM database and 17.04% on NR database. There were 270 biological pathways matched with those in KEGG database. Furthermore, a total of 23452 potential simple sequence repeats(SSRs) were identified, of them the most abundant type was mono-nucleotide repeats(12902, 55.01%), which was followed by di-nucleotide(8132, 34.68%), tri-nucleotide(2010, 8.57%), tetra-nucleotide(401, 1.71%), and penta-nucleotide(7, 0.03%) repeats. Sixty SSRs were selected for validating and developing genic SSR markers, of them 23 showed polymorphism in a cultured population with the average observed and expected heterozygosities of 0.412 and 0.579, respectively. In this study, we established the first comprehensive transcript dataset of A. pectinata genes. 11Isolation and Characterization of Melanin Pigment from Yesso Scallop Patinopecten yessoensis显示文摘Melanin is one of the essential compounds in the pigments of molluscan shells.However,the effects of melanin on color variations in molluscs are largely unknown.Our previous study suggests that Yesso scallop Patinopecten yessoensis might contain melanin pigment in the dark brown shell.We therefore isolated melanin from the pigmented shells using hydrochloric acid method,and characterized the types of melanin pigments by spectrophotometry.The purified melanin,which was verified by spectrophotometry scanning and HPLC analysis,showed the typical characteristics of melanin absorption spectra and HPLC chromatograms.The contents of pheomelanin and eumelanin in pigmented shells,which were determined by the linear standard curve of melanin at 405 nm and 350 nm absorbance,were 48.23 ? 1.350 and 157.65 ? 5.905 mg,respectively.The present results indicate that the brown-pigmented shells of scallops comprise approximately 76.6% of eumelanin and 23.4% of pheomelanin,which supports the presence of eumelanin-rich pigment in scallop shells.Therefore,the combination of hydrochloric acid extraction and spectrophotometric quantification is a rapid and efficient method to isolate and quantify melanin in shells.This will facilitate the melanin studies related to shell color polymorphism and the selective breeding of bivalves with different shell colors.SUN Xiujun WU Biao ZHOU Liqing LIU Zhihong DONG Yinghui YANG Aiguo 2017Journal of Ocean University of China2017,16,2:2
12Multi-objective optimization of frequency and damping of vertical stabilizer skin structure placed with variable-angle tows显示文摘The vibration characteristics of composite vertical stabilizer skin structures play a critical role in damping effects designed for overcoming the air disturbances experienced by aircraft structural components during flight.The first-order fundamental frequencies and their corresponding damping characteristics of the vertical stabilizer skin structure tow-steered by automatic fiber placement technique were optimized with the parameterized trajectories and plies as design variables.Firstly,the vibration and damping numerical models were derived based on Kirchhoff laminate theory,the Rayleigh-Ritz method,and the Strain Energy Method.Then the optimization model was developed by adopting the self-adaptive Differential Evolution Multi-objective optimization algorithm and incorporating the solution method of Pareto Front.The constraints of this optimization model considered the experimentally obtained minimum turning radius of prepregs tow-steered in automatic fiber placement process obtained from experimental tests.Finally,the comparison of numerical simulation results was conducted for the optimized trajectories and the conventional straight trajectories under various boundary conditions,and the numerical results were partially validated through damping and frequency tests.The results indicate the vibration characteristics of the composite vertical stabilizer skin structure can be enhanced to a large extent by optimizing fiber trajectories,and the enhancement percentage is affected by the boundary conditions of the actual structure.Lei ZU Xianzhao XIA Qian ZHANG Guiming ZHANG Shijun CHEN Jianhui FU Lichuan ZHOU Huabi WANG Debao LI Liqing ZOU 2023Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,1:1

14Functional isolation,culture and cryopreservation of adult human primary cardiomyocytes显示文摘Cardiovascular diseases are the most common cause of death globally.Accurately modeling cardiac homeostasis,dysfunction,and drug response lies at the heart of cardiac research.Adult human primary cardiomyocytes(hPCMs)are a promising cellular model,but unstable isolation efficiency and quality,rapid cell death in culture,and unknown response to cryopreservation prevent them from becoming a reliable and flexible in vitro cardiac model.Combing the use of a reversible inhibitor of myosinⅡATPase,(-)-blebbistatin(Bleb),and multiple optimization steps of the isolation procedure,we achieved a 2.74-fold increase in cell viability over traditional methods,accompanied by better cellular morphology,minimally perturbed gene expression,intact electrophysiology,and normal neurohormonal signaling.Further optimization of culture conditions established a method that was capable of maintaining optimal cell viability,morphology,and mitochondrial respiration for at least 7 days.Most importantly,we successfully cryopreserved hPCMs,which were structurally,molecularly,and functionally intact after undergoing the freeze-thaw cycle.hPCMs demonstrated greater sensitivity towards a set of cardiotoxic drugs,compared to human-induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes(hiPSC-CMs).Further dissection of cardiomyocyte drug response at both the population and single-cell transcriptomic level revealed that hPCM responses were more pronouncedly enriched in cardiac function,whereas hiPSC-CMs responses reflected cardiac development.Together,we established a full set of methodologies for the efficient isolation and prolonged maintenance of functional primary adult human cardiomyocytes in vitro,unlocking their potential as a cellular model for cardiovascular research,drug discovery,and safety pharmacology.Bingying Zhou Xun Shi Xiaoli Tang Quanyi Zhao Le Wang Fang Yao Yongfeng Hou Xianqiang Wang Wei Feng Liqing Wang Xiaogang Sun Li Wang Shengshou Hu 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,8:1
15Squeezing bandwidth controllable twin beam light and phase sensitive nonlinear interferometer based on atomic ensembles显示文摘We review our recent experimental progress in quantum technology employing amplification effect of four-wave mixing in a rubidium vapor. We have produced an intensity difference squeezed light source at frequencies as low as 1.5 kHz which is so far the lowest frequency at which squeezing has been observed in an atomic system. Moreover, we find that the bandwidth of our squeezed light source can be controlled with light intensity pumping. Using our non-classical light source, we have further developed a nonlinear Mach-Zehnder (MZ) interferometer, for which the maximum fringe intensity depends quadratically on the intensity of the phase-sensing field at the high-gain regime, leading to much better sensitivity than a linear MZ interferometer in which the beam splitters have the same phase-sensing intensity.
