| 4 | WIP1 Phosphatase Plays a Critical Neuroprotective Role in Brain Injury Induced by High-Altitude Hypoxic Inflammation显示文摘The hypobaric hypoxic environment in highaltitude areas often aggravates the severity of inflammation and induces brain injury as a consequence. However, the critical genes regulating this process remain largely unknown. The phosphatase wild-type p53-induced phosphatase 1(WIP1) plays important roles in various physiological and pathological processes, including the regulation of inflammation in normoxia, but its functions in hypoxic inflammation-induced brain injury remain unclear.Here, we established a mouse model of this type of injury and found that WIP1 deficiency augmented the release of inflammatory cytokines in the peripheral circulation and brain tissue, increased the numbers of activated microglia/macrophages in the brain, aggravated cerebral histological lesions, and exacerbated the impairment of motor and cognitive abilities. | 5 | Characterization and Apparent Kinetics of Polymerization of 1-Decene Catalyzed by Boron Trifluoride/Alcohol System显示文摘Poly-α-olefin(PAO) synthetic oil is the base oil of high-quality lubricants, and has a huge market potential.We illustrate PAO synthesis by catalytic polymerization of 1-decene with a boron trifluoride(BF_3)/alcohol system. Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry, proton nuclear magnetic resonance and ^(13) C nuclear magnetic resonance analysis confirmed dimer, trimer and tetramer structures of PAO. Each component contained branched chains with a 1,2 insertion of a head-to-tail link; a 2,1 insertion of a tail-to-tail link and a methyl-containing linked structure. At a low conversion rate, the reaction rate was related directly with the reaction temperature and the catalyst/1-decene concentration. And the fault tree analysis,deemed to be one of the effective methods of reliability analysis,is also adopted. Thus a failure rate allocation model based on the fault tree analysis and dualistic contrast is achieved. | 7 | Efficient degradation of Rhodamine B by magnetically recoverable Fe_(3)O_(4)-modified ternary CoFeCu-layered double hydroxides via activating peroxymonosulfate显示文摘Environment-friendly nano-catalysts capable of activating peroxymonosulfate(PMS)have received increasing attention recently.Nevertheless,traditional nano-catalysts are generally well dispersed and difficult to be separated from reaction system,so it is particularly important to develop nano-catalysts with both good catalytic activity and excellent recycling efficiency.In this work,magnetically recoverable Fe_(3)O_(4)-modified ternary CoFeCu-layered double hydroxides(Fe_(3)O_(4)/CoFeCu-LDHs)was prepared by a simple co-precipitation method and initially applied to activate PMS for the degradation of Rhodamine B(Rh B).X-ray diffraction(XRD),fourier transform infrared spectrometer(FT-IR),scanning electron microscope(SEM),transmission electron microscopy(TEM),Brunauer-Emmett-Teller method(BET),and vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM)were applied to characterize morphology,structure,specific surface area and magnetism.In addition,the effects of several key parameters were evaluated.The Fe_(3)O_(4)/CoFeCu-LDHs exhibited high catalytic activity,and Rh B degradation efficiency could reach 100%within 20 min by adding 0.2 g/L of catalyst and 1 mmol/L of PMS into 50 mg/L of Rh B solution under a wide pH condition(3.0-7.0).Notably,the Fe_(3)O_(4)/CoFeCu-LDHs showed good super-paramagnetism and excellent stability,which could be effectively and quickly recovered under magnetic condition,and the degradation efficiency after ten cycles could still maintain 98.95%.Both radicals quenching tests and electron spin resonance(ESR)identified both HO·and SO_(4)^(·-) were involved and SO_(4)^(·-) played a dominant role on the RhB degradation.Finally,the chemical states of the sample’s surface elements were measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and the possible activation mechanism in Fe_(3)O_(4)/CoFeCu-LDHs/PMS system was proposed according to comprehensive analysis. | Tong Li Xiange Du Jieqiong Deng Kai Qi Jiandong Zhang Lili Gao Xiuping Yue | 2021 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,10: | 4 |

| 9 | Biodegradable magnesium pins enhanced the healing of transverse patellar fracture in rabbits显示文摘Displaced fractures of patella often require open reduction surgery and internal fixation to restore the extensor continuity and articular congruity.Fracture fixation with biodegradable magnesium(Mg)pins enhanced fracture healing.We hypothesized that fixation with Mg pins and their degradation over time would enhance healing of patellar fracture radiologically,mechanically,and histologically.Transverse patellar fracture surgery was performed on thirty-two 18-weeks old female New Zealand White Rabbits.The fracture was fixed with a pin made of stainless steel or pure Mg,and a figure-of-eight stainless steel band wire.Samples were harvested at week 8 or 12,and assessed with microCT,tensile testing,microindentation,and histology.Microarchitectural analysis showed that Mg group showed 12%higher in the ratio of bone volume to tissue volume at week 8,and 38.4%higher of bone volume at week 12.Tensile testing showed that the failure load and stiffness of Mg group were 66.9%and 104%higher than the control group at week 8,respectively.At week 12,Mg group was 60.8%higher in ultimate strength than the control group.Microindentation showed that,compared to the Control group,Mg group showed 49.9%higher Vickers hardness and 31%higher elastic modulus at week 8 and 12,respectively.At week 12,the new bone of Mg group remodelled to laminar bone,but those of the control group remained woven bone-like.Fixation of transverse patellar fracture with Mg pins and its degradation enhanced new bone formation and mechanical properties of the repaired patella compared to the Control group. | Dick Ho Kiu Chow Jiali Wang Peng Wan Lizhen Zheng Michael Tim Yun Ong Le Huang Wenxue Tong Lili Tan Ke Yang Ling Qin | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,11: | 3 |

| 14 | Effect of hydrogen combustion in the primary pump compartment显示文摘Hydrogen combustion in a nuclear power plant may threaten the integrity of some important systems and components.In this paper,the effect of hydrogen combustion in the primary pump compartment is analyzed by different initial hydrogen concentration and igniter locations using Computational Fluid Dynamics method.The results show that the combustion is confined to a limited area without pump damage at about 6.6%hydrogen volume fraction.Once igniting the hydrogen,the combustion affects the whole compartment at the 12%hydrogen volume fraction.The stress caused by the great temperature gradient or high temperature may damage the primary pump. | 18 | Vapor film collapse triggered by external pressure pulse and the fragmentation of melt droplet in FCIs显示文摘The fragmentation process of high-temperature molten drop is a key factor to determine the ratio heat transferred to power in FCIs,which estimates the possible damage degree during the hypothetical severe accident in the nuclear reactors. In this paper,the fragmentation process of melt droplet in FCIs is investigated by theoretic analysis. The fragmentation mechanism is studied when an external pressure pulse applied to a melt droplet,which is surrounded by vapor film. The vapor film collapse which induces fragmentation of melt droplet is analyzed and modeled. And then the generated pressure is calculated. The vapor film collapse model is introduced to fragmentation correlation,and the predicted fragment size is calculated and compared with experimental data.
