Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction for treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy:a meta-analysis of 16 randomized controlled trials显示文摘OBJECTIVE:This meta-analysis was performed to systematically assess the efficacy and safety of the Chinese herbal medicine Huangqi Guizhi Wuwu Decoction(HGWWD) for treating diabetic peripheral neuropathy.DATA SOURCES:Six electronic databases, including the Cochrane Library,MEDLINE database,Chinese Biomedical Database,Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,Chinese Science and Technique Journals Database, and the Wanfang Database, were search ed on the internet for randomized controlled trials published up until 1 December 2015.The search terms included 'Chinese herbal medicine','diabetic peripheral neuropathy' and 'randomized controlled trials' in Chinese and in English.DATA SELECTION:We included randomized controlled trials using HGWWD/modified HGWWD for the treatment group, without restriction for the control group. We assessed literature quality in accordance with the Cochrane Review Handbook.A random or a fixed effects model was used to analyze outcomes using Rev Man 5.2 software.OUTCOME MEASURES:The primary outcomes were changes in symptoms and nerve conduction velocities. The secondary outcomeswere fasting blood glucose and hemorheological indexes.RESULTS:Sixteen randomized controlled trials, with a total of 1,173 patients, were included.Meta-analysis revealed that the efficacy of HGWWD for diabetic peripheral neuropathy was significantly superior compared with the control treatment(i.e.,control group)(risk ratio = 0.36,95% confidence interval(CI):0.29–0.46,Z =8.33,P < 0.00001) Compared with the control group, there was an increase in median motor nerve conduction velocity(mean difference(MD) = 3.46,95%CI:1.88–5.04,Z = 4.30,P < 0.01) and median sensory nerve conduction velocity(MD = 3.30,95%CI:2.04–4.56,Z = 5.14,P < 0.01).There was also an increase in peroneal motor nerve conduction velocity(MD = 3.22,95%CI:2.45–3.98,Z = 8.21,P < 0.01) and peroneal sensory nerve conduction velocity(MD = 3.05,95%CI:2.01–4.09,Z = 5.75,P < 0.01) in the treatment groups. No significant difference in fasting blood glucose was found between the treatment groups and the control groups(MD =-0.12,95%CI:-0.42–0.19,Z = 0.76,P = 0.45).Plasma viscosity was significantly decreased after treatment(MD =-0.11,95%CI:-0.21 to-0.02,Z = 2.30,P = 0.02).No significant difference in fibrinogen was detectable(MD =-0.53,95%CI:-1.28–0.22,Z = 1.38,P = 0.17).Four trials reported that treatment groups experienced no adverse reactions.Adverse events were not mentioned in the other 12 trials. No trial reported the incidence of complications, quality of life outcomes,or health economics.CONCLUSION:HGWWD treatment improves diabetic neurologic symptoms and ameliorates nerve conduction velocities. Our study suggests that HGWWD may have significant therapeutic efficacy for the treatment of diabetic peripheral neuropathy. However, the methodological quality of the randomized controlled trials was generally low.Larger and better-designed randomized controlled trials are required to more reliably assess the clinical effectiveness of HGWWD. | Bing Pang Tian-yu Zhao Lin-hua Zhao Fang Wan Ru Ye Qiang Zhou Feng Tian Xiao-lin Tong | 2016 | Neural Regeneration Research2016,11,8: | 32
Xiangshaliujunzi Decoction for the treatment of diabetic gastroparesis: A systematic review显示文摘AIM:To assess the current clinical evidence of the effectiveness of Xiangshaliujunzi Decoction(XSLJZD)for the treatment of diabetic gastroparesis(DGP).METHODS:Randomized controlled trials(RCTs)were retrieved from seven major electronic databases including Medline, the Cochrane Library,Embase,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database(CBM),Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure,Chinese Scientific Journal Database(VIP),and Wanfang Databases, using search dates from the beginning of the databases to May 2013.No language limitations were applied. We included RCTs that used XSLJZD or a modified XSLJZD compared with a control group for the treatment of DGP.The control groups included conventional treatment(Western medicinal treatment),placebo, and no treatment(blank),but not acupuncture. The main outcome index was clinical effectiveness, which was based on the gastric emptying test and variations in the gastrointestinal(GI)symptoms between the treatment and control groups after intervention.Data extraction, analysis, and quality assessment were conducted according to the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Review of Interventions,Version 5.1.0.RESULTS:Ten RCTs involving 867 patients(441 in the experimental groups, and 426 in the control groups)were identified, and the overall methodological quality was evaluated as generally low.In the treatment groups, all 10 trials used herbs alone as the treatment, whereas all control groups used prokinetic medicine. The period of intervention ranged from 2 to 8 wk.Three classes were used to evaluate treatment efficacy:significant effective, effective, and ineffective, and all trials used the clinical effective rate(based on the gastric emptying test and changes in GI symptoms)to evaluate efficacy. The data showed that the effects of XSLJZD for the treatment of DGP were superior to the control group(n=867,RR=1.33,95%CI:1.24-1.42,Z=8.11,P<0.00001).Two trials recorded adverse events, and one trial reported follow-up.CONCLUSION:XSLJZD could restore the gastric emptying rate and improve symptoms. However, the evidence remains weak due to the poor methodological quality of the included studies. | Jia-Xing Tian Min Li Jiang-Quan Liao Wen-Ke Liu Xiao-Lin Tong | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,2: | 18

Defecation function and quality of life in patients with slow-transit constipation after colectomy显示文摘BACKGROUND Although total or subtotal colectomy for slow-transit constipation(STC)has been proven to be a definite treatment, the associated defecation function and quality of life(QOL)are rarely studied.AIM To evaluate the effectiveness of surgery for STC regarding defecation function and QOL.METHODS From March 2013 to September 2017,30 patients undergoing surgery for STC in our department were analyzed.Preoperative,intra-operative,and postoperative 3-mo,6-mo,1-year,and 2-year follow-up details were recorded.Defecation function was assessed by bowel movements, abdominal pain, bloating, straining, laxative, enema use, diarrhea, and the Wexner constipation and incontinence scales.QOL was evaluated using the gastrointestinal QOL index and the 36-item short form survey.RESULTS The majority of patients(93.1%,27/29)stated that they benefited from the operation at the 2-year follow-up.At each time point of the follow-up,the number of bowel movements per week significantly increased compared with that of the preoperative conditions(P<0.05).Similarly,compared with the preoperative values,a marked decline was observed in bloating, straining, laxative, and enema use at each time point of the follow-up(P<0.05).Postoperative diarrhea could be controlled effectively and notably improved at the 2-year follow-up.The Wexner incontinence scores at 6-mo,1-year,and 2-year were notably lower than those at the 3-mo follow-up(P<0.05).Compared with those of the preoperative findings, the Wexner constipation scores significantly decreased following surgery(P<0.05).Thus,it was reasonable to find that the gastrointestinal QOL index scores clearly increase(P<0.05)and that the 36-item short form survey results displayed considerable improvements in six spheres(role physical, role emotional, physical pain, vitality, mental health, and general health)following surgery.CONCLUSION Total or subtotal colectomy for STC is not only effective in alleviating constipation-related symptoms but also in enhancing patients’QOL. | Yue Tian Li Wang Jing-Wang Ye Yong Zhang Hui-Chao Zheng Hao-De Shen Fan Li Bao-Hua Liu Wei-Dong Tong | 2020 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,10: | 13
Combination of symptoms, syndrome and disease: Treatment of refractory diabetic gastroparesis显示文摘AIM:To assess effect of combination of symptoms, syndrome and disease on treatment of diabetic gastroparesis with severe nausea and vomiting.METHODS:Professor Tong Xiaolin’s clinical electronic medical records of patients who were treated between January 1,2006 and October 1,2012 were used as a database.Patients who met the inclusion criteria were enrolled.General information(name, sex and age),symptoms and blood glucose levels were obtained from the clinic electronic medical record, which was supplemented by a telephone interview. The patient-rated Gastroparesis Cardinal Symptom Index(GCSI)was used to evaluate the severity of the symptoms of gastroparesis. The effects of the treatment were assessed by the change in the severity of the symptoms of gastroparesis and the change in blood glucose between the baseline levels and the post-treatment levels at 1,2,4,8 and 12 wk.RESULTS:Forty-five patients had a mean GCSI nausea and vomiting severity score of 4.21±0.67 and a total GCSI score of 2.77±0.63 before treatment. There was a significant improvement in the nausea and vomiting score at every return visit compared with the baseline score(1 wk:3.02±1.04 vs 4.18±0.71,P<0.001;2wk:2.32±1.25 vs 4.16±0.73,P<0.001;4 wk:2.12±1.26 vs 4.12±0.73,P<0.001;8 wk:1.79±1.09vs 4.24±0.77,P<0.001;12 wk:0.69±0.92 vs 4.25±0.70,P<0.001).Twenty-five of the 45 patients had complete resolution of vomiting during the observation period(mean time to resolution was 37.9±27.3 d).The postprandial fullness and early satiety subscale, bloating subscale and total GCSI scores were also improved. Finally, the blood glucose levels improved after treatment, although the change was not significant.CONCLUSION:Use of the combination of symptoms, syndrome and disease to treat diabetic gastroparesis with refractory nausea and vomiting may be a new treatment option. | Jun-Ling Li Min Li Bing Pang Qiang Zhou Jia-Xing Tian Hong-Xing Liu Xi-Yan Zhao Xiao-Lin Tong | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,26: | 13
Sequence Stratigraphy of the Jurassic Coal Measures in Northwestern China显示文摘The sequence stratigraphy of the Jurassic coal measures of northwestern China has been studied based on data from outcrop and borehole sections. Because of the geological background and the diversity of basin types, such as isochronisms of coal seams and recognition of key sequence boundaries, it is rare to summarize and correlate sequence structure and framework. The types and recognition characteristics of the sequence boundaries of the Jurassic coal measures are revealed by comparing climatic characteristics, structural styles and the base level cycle. A total of five third-order sequences and 15 systems tracts have been subdivided and the sequence stratigraphic framework has been reconstructed confirming that the thick coals accumulated in the late stage of transgression system tracts of sequence I (SQ I) and sequence III (SQ III). This idea is of important academic significance for instructing coal resources exploration, and enhancing geological effects of prospecting engineering. It is also of practical significance for guaranteeing construction of the large-scale coal production base in northwestern China, accelerating the westward development of the coal industry stratagem. | WANG Tong SHAO Longyi TIAN Ye LU Jing WANG Wenlong | 2012 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2012,86,3: | 11
The large increase of δ^(13)C_(carb)-depth gradient and the end-Permian mass extinction显示文摘Carbonate carbon isotope δ(13Ccarb) has received considerable attention in the Permian-Triassic transition for its rapid negative shift coinciding with the great end-Permian mass extinction event. The mechanism has long been debated for such a δ13Ccarb negative excursion through the end-Permian crisis and subsequent large perturbations in the entire Early Triassic.A δ13Ccarb depth gradient is observed at the Permian-Triassic boundary sections of different water-depths,i.e.,the Yangou,Meishan, and Shangsi sections, and such a large δ13Ccarb-depth gradient near the end-Permian mass extinction horizon is believed to result from a stratified Paleotethys Ocean with widespread anoxic/euxinic deep water. The evolution of δ13Ccarb-depth gradient combined with paleontological and geochemical data suggests that abundant cyanobacteria and vigorous biological pump in the immediate aftermath of the end-Permian extinction would be the main cause of the large δ13Ccarb-depth gradient, and the enhanced continental weathering with the mass extinction on land provides a mass amount of nutriment for the flourishing cyanobacteria.Photic zone anoxia/euxinia from the onset of chemocline upward excursion might be the direct cause for the mass extinction whereas the instability of chemocline in the stratified Early Triassic ocean would be the reason for the delayed and involuted biotic recovery. | SONG HaiJun TONG JinNan XIONG YanLin SUN DongYing TIAN Li SONG HuYue | 2012 | Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,7: | 11
Changes in Plasma Angiotensin II and Circadian Rhythm of Blood Pressure in Hypertensive Patients with Sleep Apnea Syndrome Before and After Treatment显示文摘Objective To explore the changes in plasma angiotensin II (Ang II) and circadian rhythm of blood pressure among hypertensive patients with sleep apnea syndrome (SAS) before and after continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) or surgical treatment. Methods A total of 180 essential hypertension patients were enrolled in our study. The determination of plasma Ang II concentration, ambulatory blood pressure (ABP),and polysomnography (PSG) monitoring were performed before and 3 months after CPAP or surgical treatment. Results Patients were classified into three groups by their apnea-hypopnea index (AHI):essential hypertension group (EH group,n=72;AHI<5),essential hypertension with mild SAS group (EH+mild SAS group,n=60,5≤AHI<20),and essential hypertension with moderate and severe SAS group (EH+moderate-severe SAS group,n=48,AHI≥20).The concentrations of plasma AngⅡ in the above three groups were 13.42±3.27,16.17±3.82,and 18.73±4.05 ng/mL respectively before treatment, and AngⅡ concentration in EH patients combined with SAS was significantly higher than that in EH group (all P<0.05).After treatment the values in the latter two groups significantly decreased to 14.67±2.56 and 15.03±3.41 ng/mL respectively (P<0.05).The incidence of non-dipper blood pressure curve in EH patients was 31.9%,and those in hypertensive patients with mild SAS and moderate-severe SAS were 51.7% and 58.3%,respectively before treatment. The incidence of non-dipper blood pressure curve in the EH patients with mild SAS was significantly higher than that of patients with EH alone (P<0.05).After CPAP treatment or surgery, the incidence of non-dipper blood pressure curve in the two SAS groups was significantly decreased to 38.3% and 39.6%,respectively (P<0.05).Conclusions Ang II might play a role in blood pressure variability in patients with obstructive SAS.CPAP or surgical treatment can improve blood pressure disorder and decrease plasma Ang II level in patients with obstructive SAS. | Hai-ling Wang Yu Wang Ying Zhang Yun-dai Chen Xin-chun Wang Zhi-xuan Liu Guo-li Jing Hai-feng Tong Yuan Tian Qing-zeng Liu | 2011 | Chinese Medical Sciences Journal2011,26,1: | 10
Effect of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine Therapy on Severe Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Trial显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Chinese medicine(CM) plus Western medicine(WM) in the treatment of pediatric patients with severe hand, foot and mouth disease(HFMD) by conducting a prospective, controlled, and randomized trial. Methods: A total of 451 pediatric patients with severe HFMD were randomly assigned to receive WM therapy alone(224 cases, WM therapy group) or CM [Reduning Injection(热毒宁注射液) or Xiyanping Injection(喜炎平注射液)] plus WM therapy(227 cases, CM plus WM therapy group) for 7–10 days, according to a web-based randomization system. The primary outcome was fever clearance time, which was presented as temperature decreased half-life time. The secondary outcomes included the rate of rash/herpes disappearance within 120 h, as well as the rate for cough, runny nose, lethargy and weakness, agitation or irritability, and vomiting clearance within 120 h. The drug-related adverse events were also recorded. Results: The temperature decreased half-life time was 40.4 h in the WM therapy group, significantly longer than 27.2 h in the CM plus WM therapy group(P<0.01). Moreover, the rate for rash/herpes disappearance within 120 h was 43.6%(99/227) in the CM plus WM therapy group, significantly higher than 29.5%(66/224) in the WM therapy group(P<0.01). In addition, the rate for cough, lethargy and weakness, agitation or irritability disappearance within 120 h was 32.6%(74/227) in the CM plus WM therapy group, significantly higher than 19.2%(43/224) in the WM therapy group(P<0.01). No drug-related adverse events were observed during the course of the study. Conclusions: The combined CM and WM therapy achieved a better therapeutic efficacy in treating severe HFMD than the WM therapy alone. Reduning or Xiyanping Injections may become an important complementary therapy to WM for relieving the symptoms of severe HFMD. | LI Xiu-hui LI Shuang-jie XU Yi WEI Dan SHI Qing-sheng ZHU Qing-xiong YANG Tong DING Jian-bo TIAN Yi-mei HUANG Ji-han WANG Kun WEN Tao ZHANG Xi | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2017,23,12: | 10
Notoginsenoside Ft1 acts as a TGR5 agonist but FXR antagonist to alleviate high fat diet-induced obesity and insulin resistance in mice显示文摘Obesity and its associated complications are highly related to a current public health crisis around the world.A growing body of evidence has indicated that G-protein coupled bile acid(BA) receptor TGR5(also known as Gpbar-1) is a potential drug target to treat obesity and associated metabolic disorders. We have identified notoginsenoside Ftl(Ftl) from Panax notoginseng as an agonist of TGR5 in vitro. However, the pharmacological effects of Ftl on diet-induced obese(DIO) mice and the underlying mechanisms are still elusive. Here we show that Ftl(100 mg/100 diet) increased adipose lipolysis, promoted fat browning in inguinal adipose tissue and induced glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1) secretion in the ileum of wild type but not Tgr5^(-/-) obese mice.In addition,Ftl elevated serum free and taurineconjugated bile acids(BAs) by antagonizing Fxr transcriptional activities in the ileum to activate Tgr5 in the adipose tissues. The metabolic benefits of Ftl were abolished in Cyp27 al^(-/-) mice which have much lower BA levels. These results identify Ftl as a single compound with opposite activities on two key BA receptors to alleviate high fat diet-induced obesity and insulin resistance in mice. | Lili Ding Qiaoling Yang Eryun Zhang Yangmeng Wang Siming Sun Yingbo Yang Tong Tian Zhengcai Ju Linshan Jiang Xunjiang Wang Zhengtao Wang Wendong Huang Li Yang | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,6: | 10
THE FLOW ANALYSIS OF FLUIDS IN FRACTAL RESERVOIR WITH THE FRACTIONAL DERIVATIVE显示文摘In this paper, fractional order derivative, fractal dimension and spectral dimension are introduced into the seepage flow mechanics to establish the flow models of fluids in fractal reservoirs with the fractional derivative. The flow characteristics of fluids through a fractal reservoir with the fractional order derivative are studied by using the finite integral transform, the discrete Laplace transform of sequential fractional derivatives and the generalized Mittag-Leffler function. Exact solutions are obtained for arbitrary fractional order derivative. The long-time and short-time asymptotic solutions for an infinite formation are also obtained. The pressure transient behavior of fluids flow through an infinite fractal reservoir is studied by using the Stehfest’s inversion method of the numerical Laplace transform. It shows that the order of the fractional derivative affect the whole pressure behavior, particularly, the effect of pressure behavior of the early-time stage is larger The new type flow model of fluid in fractal reservoir with fractional derivative is provided a new mathematical model for studying the seepage mechanics of fluid in fractal porous media. | TIAN Ji TONG Deng-ke | 2006 | Journal of Hydrodynamics2006,18,3: | 10

Surface modification of small intestine submucosa in tissue engineering显示文摘With the development of tissue engineering, the required biomaterials need to have the ability to promote cell adhesion and proliferation in vitro and in vivo.Especially, surface modification of the scaffold material has a great influence on biocompatibility and functionality of materials. The small intestine submucosa(SIS)is an extracellular matrix isolated from the submucosal layer of porcine jejunum, which has good tissue mechanical properties and regenerative activity, and is suitable for cell adhesion, proliferation and differentiation. In recent years,SIS is widely used in different areas of tissue reconstruction, such as blood vessels, bone, cartilage, bladder and ureter, etc. This paper discusses the main methods for surface modification of SIS to improve and optimize the performance of SIS bioscaffolds, including functional group bonding, protein adsorption, mineral coating, topography and formatting modification and drug combination. In addition, the reasonable combination of these methods also offers great improvement on SIS surface modification. This article makes a shallow review of the surface modification of SIS and its application in tissue engineering. | Pan Zhao Xiang Li Qin Fang Fanglin Wang Qiang Ao Xiaohong Wang Xiaohong Tian Hao Tong Shuling Bai Jun Fan | 2020 | Regenerative Biomaterials2020,7,4: | 9
Correlation of Seven Biological Factors(Hsp90α,p53,MDM2,Bcl-2,Bax,Cytochrome C,and Cleaved caspase3)with Clinical Outcomes of ALK+ Anaplastic Large-cell Lymphoma显示文摘Objective To explore correlation of seven apoptosis‐related proteins (Hsp90α,p53,MDM2,Bcl‐2,Bax,Cytochrome C,and Cleaved caspase3) with clinical outcomes of ALK+ anaplastic large‐cell lymphoma (ALCL).Methods Using immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence double staining methods, the expressions of these seven apoptosis‐associated proteins were studied to clarify their relationship with clinical outcomes of 36 ALK+ and 25 ALK‐ systemic ALCL patients enrolled between 1996 and 2006.The relationship of these apoptosis‐regulating proteins with NPM‐ALK status was also evaluated with the tyrosine inhibitor herbimycin A (HA) in vitro by immunocytochemistry,Western blotting and flow cytometric assays. Results The presence of Hsp90α‐,MDM2‐,Bax‐,Cytochrome C,and Cleaved caspase3‐positive tumor cells was found significantly different in ALK+ and ALK‐ ALCLs ,which was correlated with highly favorable clinical outcome. The Bcl‐2‐ and p53‐positive tumor cells were found in groups of patients with unfavorable prognosis.Inhibition of NPM‐ALK by HA could reactivate the p53 protein and subsequent apoptosis‐related proteins and therefore induced apoptosis in ALK+ ALCL cells. Conclusion Our results suggest that these seven proteins might be involved in apoptosis regulation and associated with clinical outcome of ALK+ systemic ALCLs.We also reveal a dynamic chain relation that NPM‐ALK regulates p53 expression and subsequent apoptosis cascade in ALK+ ALCLs. | LI Hui Ling HUANG Xue Ping ZHOU Xin Hua JI Tian Hai WU Zi Qing WANG Zhi Qiang JIANG Hui Yong LIU Fan Rong ZHAO Tong | 2011 | Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,6: | 9
The gut microbial metabolite, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid, alleviates hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury via mitigation of macrophage pro-inflammatory activity in mice显示文摘Hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury(HIRI) is a serious complication that occurs following shock and/or liver surgery. Gut microbiota and their metabolites are key upstream modulators of development of liver injury. Herein, we investigated the potential contribution of gut microbes to HIRI.Ischemia/reperfusion surgery was performed to establish a murine model of HIRI. 16 S r RNA gene sequencing and metabolomics were used for microbial analysis. Transcriptomics and proteomics analysis were employed to study the host cell responses. Our results establish HIRI was significantly increased when surgery occurred in the evening(ZT12, 20:00) when compared with the morning(ZT0, 08:00);however, antibiotic pretreatment reduced this diurnal variation. The abundance of a microbial metabolite3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid was significantly higher in ZT0 when compared with ZT12 in the gut and this compound significantly protected mice against HIRI. Furthermore, 3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid suppressed the macrophage pro-inflammatory response in vivo and in vitro. This metabolite inhibits histone deacetylase activity by reducing its phosphorylation. Histone deacetylase inhibition suppressed macrophage pro-inflammatory activation and diminished the diurnal variation of HIRI. Our findings revealed a novel protective microbial metabolite against HIRI in mice. The potential underlying mechanism was at least in part, via 3,4-dihydroxyphenylpropionic acid-dependent immune regulation and histone deacetylase(HDAC) inhibition in macrophages. | Rui Li Li Xie Lei Li Xiaojiao Chen Tong Yao Yuanxin Tian Qingping Li Kai Wang Chenyang Huang Cui Li Yifan Li Hongwei Zhou Neil Kaplowitz Yong Jiang Peng Chen | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,1: | 8

Optimization of food deprivation and sucrose preference test in SD rat model undergoing chronic unpredictable mild stress显示文摘Background:The chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS)model has long been considered the best model for exploring the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying depression. However, there are no widely recognised standards for strategies for modeling and for behavioral testing. The present study aimed to optimize the protocols for food deprivation and the sucrose preference test(SPT)for the CUMS model. Methods:We first evaluated the effects of different long periods of food deprivation on the body weight of Sprague Dawley(SD)rats by testing food deprivation for 24 hours(8:00-8:00^+),food deprivation for 12 hours during the daytime(8:00-20:00)and food deprivation for 12 hours at night(20:00-8:00^+).Next,we established a SD rat CUMS model with 15 different stimulations, and used body weight measurement,SPT,forced swim test(FST),open field test(OFT)and Morris water maze(MWM)test to verify the success of the modeling. In the SPT,consumption of sucrose and pure water within 1 and 12 hours was measured. Results:Twelve hours of food deprivation during the daytime(8:00-20:00)had no effect on body weight, while 12 hours of food deprivation at night(20:00-8:00^+)and 24 hours of food deprivation(8:00-8:00^+)significantly reduced the mean body weight of the SD rats. When SPT was used to verify the successful establishment of the CUMS rat model, sucrose consumption measured within 12 hours was less variable than that measured within 1 hour. Conclusions:Twelve hours of food deprivation in the daytime(8:00-20:00)may be considered a mild stimulus for the establishment of a CUMS rat model.Measuring sucrose consumption over 12 hours is recommended for SPT. | Li-Wen He Li Zeng Na Tian Yi Li Tong He Dong-Mei Tan Qian Zhang Yi Tan | 2020 | Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2020,3,1: | 7
| 19 | A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%.
