1Mechanical properties and corrosion behavior of selective laser melted 316L stainless steel after different heat treatment processes显示文摘Irregular grains, high interfacial stresses and anisotropic properties widely exist in 3D-printed metallic materials, and this paper investigated the effects of heat treatment on the microstructural, mechanical and corrosion properties of 316 L stainless steel fabricated by selective laser melting. Sub-grains and low-angle boundaries exist in the as-received selective laser melted(SLMed) 316 L stainless steel. After heat treatment at 1050℃, the sub-grains and low-angle boundaries changed slightly, and the stress state and strength decreased to some extent due to the decrease of dislocation density. After heat treatment at 1200℃, the grains became uniform, and the dislocation cells vanished, which led to a sharp decline in the hardness and strength. However, the ductility was improved after recrystallization heat treatment.The passive film thickness and corrosion potential of the SLMed 316 L stainless steel decreased after heat treatment, and the pitting potential also decreased due to the accelerated transition from metastable to steady-state pitting;this accelerated transition was caused by the presence of weak passive films at the enlarged pores after heat treatment, especially for an adequate solid solution treatment.Decheng Kong Chaofang Dong Xiaoqing Ni Liang Zhang Jizheng Yao Cheng Man Xuequn Cheng Kui Xiao Xiaogang Li 2019Journal of Materials Science & Technology2019,35,7:23

5Investigation of quality of life in patients with lung cancer by the EORTC QLQ-C30(V3.0) Chinese version显示文摘Objective To explore quality of life(QOL) and its influencing factors in patients with lung cancer.Methods A QOL questionnaire(European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer [EORTC] Quality of Life Questionnaire-Core 30 [QLQ-C30] Chinese version) was used with 138 patients with lung cancer participating in the study. A statistical description of the general characteristics of the patients with lung cancer was performed. The patients' QLQ-C30 scores were compared with the reference value for each dimension. To analyze the influence of QOL in different genders, age groups, and cancer stages, ttests and rank sum tests were used to compare the differences in QOL using a 5% significance level. Results The QLQ-C30 function scores in PF(physical functioning), EF(emotional functioning), SF(social functioning), and GH(global functioning), and symptom scales in NV(nausea and vomiting), DY(dyspnea), SL(insomnia), and FI(financial difficulties) were significantly different(P < 0.05) in comparison to the reference values. Female patients were worse than males(P < 0.05) in EF, NV, and DI(diarrhea). The later the stage of lung cancer, the worse the quality of life became; the functional scales in RF(role functioning), EF, CF, SF, and GH, and symptom scales in PA(pain), AP(appetite), and SL differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05). 6Therapeutic approaches to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease: past achievements and future challenges显示文摘BACKGROUND: Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a leading cause of chronic liver injury and mortality in Western countries and China. However, as to date, there is no direct and effective therapy for this disease. The aim of this review is to analyze the key progress and challenges of main current therapeutic approaches in NAFLD. DATA SOURCE: We carried out a PubMed search of English-language articles relevant to NAFLD therapy. RESULTS: There are two major therapeutic strategies for NAFLD treatment: (1) lifestyle interventions (including weight reduction, dietary modification and physical exercise) and (2) pharmaceutical therapies. Lifestyle interventions, particularly chronic and moderate intensity exercise, are the most effective and recognized clinical therapies for NAFLD. For pharmaceutical therapies, although their effects and mechanisms have been extensively investigated in laboratory studies, they still need further tests and investigations in clinical human trials. 7Effect of high-molecular-weight glutenin subunit deletion on soft wheat quality properties and sugar-snap cookie quality estimated through near-isogenic lines显示文摘High-molecular-weight glutenin subunits(HMW-GSs) play a critical role in determining the viscoelastic properties of wheat dough. The HMW-GSs are encoded by Glu-A1, Glu-B1, and Glu-D1 loci on the long arms of chromosomes 1A, 1B, and 1D, respectively. In the present study, four near-isogenic lines with different HMW-GS deletions and compositions at the Glu-A1 and Glu-D1 loci in Yangmai 18 background were used for quality analysis. Deletion in Glu-D1 showed much weaker gluten quality and dough strength than null Glu-A1 genotype and wild genotype(WT), based on the measurements of sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS)-sedimentation, lactic acid solvent retention capacity(SRC), gluten index, development time, stability time, and alveograph P and L values. The deletion of Glu-D1 did not significantly affect grain hardness, grain protein content, water SRC, sodium carbonate SRC, and sucrose SRC. Double null genotype in Glu-A1 and Glu-D1 and single null genotype in Glu-D1 showed significantly higher cookie diameter, crispness, and lower cookie height compared with single null genotype in Glu-A1 and WT. 8The seasonal dependence of cycle slip occurrence of GPS data over China low latitude region显示文摘The relationship of daily accumulated cycle slip occurrence with the season is analyzed using the GPS data observed in six GPS stations located in China low latitude region in 2001. It is found that the seasonal dependence of cycle slip oc-currence is evident. The cycle slip mainly occurs during the periods of two equinox months (March to May and September to October), and some correlative changes of the cycle slip occurrences over all six stations are exhibited in some special days. 9Metformin promotes microglial cells to facilitate myelin debris clearance and accelerate nerve repairment after spinal cord injury显示文摘Spinal cord injury(SCI)is one kind of severe trauma for central nervous system.Myelin debris clearance and axon regeneration are essential for nerve regeneration after SCI.Metformin,a glucose-lowering drug,has been demonstrated to promote the locomotor functional recovery after SCI.In this study,we investigated the role and molecular mechanism of metformin on myelin preservation in a rat SCI model.SCI was induced in rats by compression at T9 level using a vascular clip.We showed that administration of metformin(50 mg·kg^(-1)·d^(-1),ip)for 28 days significantly improved locomotor function in SCI rats.Metformin also ameliorated SCI-induced neuronal apoptosis and promoted axon regeneration in the spinal cord.Using co-immunofluorescence of IBa-1 and MBP,and luxol fasting blue(LFB)staining,we demonstrated that metformin promoted the transformation of M1 to M2 phenotype polarization of microglial cells,then greatly facilitated myelin debris clearance and protected the myelin in SCI rats.Furthermore,metformin ameliorated SCI-induced blockade of autophagic flux in the spinal cord,and enhanced the fusion of autophagosome and lysosome by inhibiting the AMPK-mTOR signaling pathway.Moreover,metformin significantly attenuated inflammatory responses in the spinal cord.In LPS-treated BV2 cells,pretreatment with metformin(2 mM)significantly enhanced autophagy level,suppressed inflammation and cell apoptosis.The protective effects were blocked in the presence of an autophagy inhibitor 3-methyladenine(3-MA,5 mM),suggesting that the effect of metformin on autophagy in microglial cells is essential for the myelin preservation during nerve recovery.This study reveals a novel therapeutic effect of metformin in SCI recovery by regulating the activation of microglial cells and enhancing its autophagy level.Yan-qing Wu Jun Xiong Zi-li He Yuan Yuan Bei-ni Wang Jing-yu Xu Man Wu Su-su Zhang Shu-fang Cai Jia-xin Zhao Ke Xu Hong-yu Zhang Jian Xiao 2022Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2022,43,6:8
10Highly efficient,genotype-independent transformation and gene editing in watermelon(Citrullus lanatus)using a chimeric ClGRF4-GIF1 gene显示文摘Efficient genetic transformation has the potential to advance research and breeding in watermelon(Citrullus lanatus),but regeneration from tissue culture remains challenging.Previous work showed that expressing a fusion of two interacting transcription factors,GROWTH-REGULATING FACTOR4(GRF4)and GRF-INTERACTING FACTOR1(GIF1),improved regeneration in wheat(Triticum aestivum).By overexpressing a chimeric fusion of Cl GRF4 and Cl GIF1,we achieved highly efficient transformation in watermelon.Mutating the mi396 micro RNA target site in Cl GRF further boosted the transformation efficiency up to 67.27%in a genotype-independent manner.Cl GRF4-GIF1 can also be combined with clustered regularly interspaced palindromic repeats(CRISPR)/CRISPR-associated protein 9(Cas9)genome editing tools to achieve highly efficient gene editing in watermelon,which we used to successfully create diploid seedless watermelon.This research thus puts forward a powerful transformation tool for future watermelon research and breeding.Qin Feng Ling Xiao Yizhen He Man Liu Jiafa Wang Shujuan Tian Xian Zhang Li Yuan 2021Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2021,63,12:8
11Research and application of a power-flow-calculation method in multiterminal VSC-HVDC power grid显示文摘For demonstrating a multiterminal voltage-source converter(VSC)-based high-voltage DC(HVDC)(VSCHVDC) project, this study puts forward a technical route for calculating the power flow in a 500-kV VSC-HVDC power grid in comparison with that of an AC power grid. The Jacobian matrix used in the power-flow calculation was deduced through methods such as Newton–Laphson iteration and Taylor series expansion. Further, the operation effect of powerflow calculation on a true bipolar VSC-HVDC power grid was analyzed briefly. The elements of the Jacobian matrix corresponding to VSC were studied under the mode of droop control and the control strategy of VSC-HVDC power grid was analyzed in detail. The power-flow calculation model for VSC-HVDC power grid of the master–slave control mode was simplified using the PQ decomposition method of the power-flow calculation of an AC power grid. Moreover, a four-terminal model of the Zhangbei VSC-HVDC demonstration project was established and tested on MATLAB. The simulation results under two kinds of operating conditions were analyzed and compared to the results of BPA; the deviation between the power-flow results was studied. 13IL-17 sustains the plasma cell response via p38-mediated Bcl-xL RNA stability in lupus pathogenesis显示文摘Recent studies have demonstrated a central role for plasma cells in the development of autoimmune diseases,such as systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE).Currently,both the phenotypic features and functional regulation of autoreactive plasma cells during SLE pathogenesis remain largely unclear.In this study,we first found that a major subset of IL-17 receptor-expressing plasma cells potently produced anti-dsDNA IgG upon IL-17A(IL-17)stimulation in SLE patients and lupus mice.Using a humanized lupus mouse model,we showed that the transfer of Th17 cell-depleted PBMCs from lupus patients resulted in a significantly reduced plasma cell response and attenuated renal damage in recipient mice compared to the transfer of total SLE PBMCs.Moreover,long-term BrdU incorporation in lupus mice detected highly enriched long-lived BrdU+subsets among IL-17 receptor-expressing plasma cells.Lupus mice deficient in IL-17 or IL-17 receptor C(IL-17RC)exhibited a diminished plasma cell response and reduced autoantibody production with attenuated renal damage,while the adoptive transfer of Th17 cells triggered the plasma cell response and renal damage in IL-17-deficient lupus mice.In reconstituted chimeric mice,IL-17RC deficiency resulted in severely impaired plasma cell generation but showed no obvious effect on germinal center B cells.Further mechanistic studies revealed that IL-17 significantly promoted plasma cell survival via p38-mediated Bcl-xL transcript stabilization.Together,our findings identified a novel function of IL-17 in enhancing plasma cell survival for autoantibody production in lupus pathogenesis,which may provide new therapeutic strategies for the treatment of SLE.Kongyang Ma Wenhan Du Fan Xiao Man Han Enyu Huang Na Peng Yuan Tang Chong Deng Lixiong Liu Yulan Chen Jingjing Li Shiwen Yuan Qin Huang Xiaoping Hong Dajun Hu Xiaoyan Cai Quan Jiang Dongzhou Liu Liwei Lu 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,7:6

16Superior de/hydrogenation performances of MgH2 catalyzed by 3D flower-like TiO2@C nanostructures显示文摘Magnesium hydride has been seen as a potential material for solid state hydrogen storage,but the kinetics and thermodynamics obstacles have hindered its development and application.Three-dimensional flower-like TiO2@C and TiO2 were synthesized as the catalyst for MgH2 system and great catalytic activities are acquired in the hydrogen sorption properties.Experiments also show that the flower-like TiO2@C is superior to flower-like TiO2 in improving the hydrogen storage properties of MgH2.The hydrogen desorption onset and peak temperatures of flower-like TiO2 doped MgH2 is reduced to 199.2℃and 245.4℃,while the primitive MgH2 starts to release hydrogen at 294.6℃and the rapid dehydrogenation temperature is even as high as 362.6℃.The onset and peak temperatures of flower-like TiO2@C doped MgH2 are further reduced to 180.3℃and 233.0℃.The flower-like TiO2@C doped MgH2 composite can release6.0 wt%hydrogen at 250℃within 7 min,and 4.86 wt%hydrogen at 225℃within 60 min,while flowerlike TiO2 doped MgH2 can release 6.0 wt%hydrogen at 250℃within 8 min,and 3.89 wt%hydrogen at225℃within 60 min.Hydrogen absorption kinetics is also improved dramatically.Moreover,compared with primitive MgH2 and the flower-like TiO2 doped MgH2,the activation energy of flower-like TiO2@C doped MgH2 is significantly decreased to 67.10 kJ/mol.All the improvement of hydrogen sorption properties can be ascribed to the flower-like structure and the two-phase coexistence of TiO2 and amorphous carbon.Such phase composition and unique structure are proved to be the critical factor to improve the hydrogen sorption properties of MgH2,which can be considered as the new prospect for improving the kinetics of light-metal hydrogen storage materials.Meng Zhang Xuezhang Xiao Bosang Luo Meijia Liu Man Chen Lixin Chen 2020Journal of Energy Chemistry2020,29,7:5

20Cell cycle-related kinase reprograms the liver immune microenvironment to promote cancer metastasis显示文摘The liver is an immunologically tolerant organ and a common metastatic site of multiple cancer types.Although a role for cancer cell invasion programs has been well characterized,whether and how liver-intrinsic factors drive metastatic spread is incompletely understood.Here,we show that aberrantly activated hepatocyte-intrinsic cell cycle-related kinase(CCRK)signaling in chronic liver diseases is critical for cancer metastasis by reprogramming an immunosuppressive microenvironment.Using an inducible liverspecific transgenic model,we found that CCRK overexpression dramatically increased both B16F10 melanoma and MC38 colorectal cancer(CRC)metastasis to the liver,which was highly infiltrated by polymorphonuclear-myeloid-derived suppressor cells(PMNMDSCs)and lacking natural killer T(NKT)cells.Depletion of PMN-MDSCs in CCRK transgenic mice restored NKT cell levels and their interferon gamma production and reduced liver metastasis to 2.7% and 0.7%(metastatic tumor weights)in the melanoma and CRC models,respectively.Mechanistically,CCRK activated nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)signaling to increase the PMN-MDSC trafficking chemokine C-X-C motif ligand 1(CXCL1),which was positively correlated with liver-infiltrating PMN-MDSC levels in CCRK transgenic mice.Accordingly,CRC liver metastasis patients exhibited hyperaaivation of hepatic CCRK/NF-κB/CXCL1 signaling,which was associated with accumulation of PMN-MDSCs and paucity of NKT cells compared to healthy liver transplantation donors.In summary,this study demonstrates that immunosuppressive reprogramming by hepatic CCRK signaling undermines antimetastatic immunosurveillance.Our findings offer new mechanistic insights and therapeutic targets for liver metastasis intervention.Xuezhen Zeng Jingying Zhou Zhewen Xiong Hanyong Sun Weiqin Yang Myth T.S.Mok Jing Wang Jingqing Li Man Liu Wenshu Tang Yu Feng Hector Kwong-Sang W ang Shun-Wa Tsang King-Lau Chow Philip Chun Yeung John Wong Paul Bo-San Lai Anthony Wing-Hung Chan Ka Fai To Stephen Lam Chan Qiang Xia Jing Xue Xiao Chen Jun Yu Sui Peng Joseph Jao-Yiu Sung Ming Kuang Alfred Sze-Lok Cheng 2021Cellular & Molecular Immunology2021,18,4:5
