1Isolation,characterization,and phylogenic analysis of three new severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome bunyavirus strains derived from Hubei Province,China显示文摘Hubei Province is a major epidemic area of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome bunyavirus(SFTSV) in China. However, to date, a few SFTSV strains have been isolated from Hubei Province, preventing effective studies of epidemic outbreaks. Here, we report three confirmed patients(2015–2016) with typical symptoms of severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome disease(SFTS) who were farmers resident in different regions in Hubei Province. Three new SFTSV strains were isolated from the serum samples of each patient. Characterization of viral growth properties showed that there were no significant differences in virus production. All strains were completely sequenced, and phylogenetic analysis showed that unlike the other strains from Hubei province, which belonged to the SFTSV C3 genotype, one of the three strains belonged to the SFTSV C2 genotype. 2Composition-dependent micro-structure and photocatalytic performance of g-C_(3)N_(4) quantum dots@SnS2 heterojunction显示文摘Semiconductor combination is one of the most common strategies to obtain high-efficiency photocatalysts;however, the effect mechanism of composition ratio on micro-structure and photocatalytic activity is remaining unclear. In this study, a case of g-C_(3)N_(4) quantum dots@SnS_(2) (CNQDn@SnS_(2)) heterojunction with different ratio of CNQD is used to uncover the origin of optimum and excess composition for photocatalysts. Research on the functional mechanism of the optimum composition shows that 0.8 wt.% CNQD are completely attached to the non-(001) facets of SnS_(2), which benefits the formation of type-II heterojunction, resulting in an optimal pollutant degradation and mineralization efficiency. For the excess composition, both experiments and theoretical calculations confirm that excess CNQD (the part exceeding of 0.8 wt.%) located on the (001) facet of SnS_(2), leading to the type-I band alignment of this heterojunction, which severely restricts the separation of photo-induced charge carriers, and thus reduces their lifetime. This work makes the functional mechanism of composition ratio on micro-structure and photocatalytic activity clearer. 4Photocatalytic nitrogen reduction to ammonia:Insights into the role of defect engineering in photocatalysts显示文摘Engineering of defects in semiconductors provides an effective protocol for improving photocatalytic N_(2) conversion efficiency.This review focuses on the state-of-the-art progress in defect engineering of photocatalysts for the N_(2) reduction toward ammonia.The basic principles and mechanisms of thermal catalyzed and photon-induced N_(2) reduction are first concisely recapped,including relevant properties of the N_(2) molecule,reaction pathways,and NH3 quantification methods.Subsequently,defect classification,synthesis strategies,and identification techniques are compendiously summarized.Advances of in situ characterization techniques for monitoring defect state during the N_(2) reduction process are also described.Especially,various surface defect strategies and their critical roles in improving the N_(2) photoreduction performance are highlighted,including surface vacancies(i.e.,anionic vacancies and cationic vacancies),heteroatom doping(i.e.,metal element doping and nonmetal element doping),and atomically defined surface sites.Finally,future opportunities and challenges as well as perspectives on further development of defect-engineered photocatalysts for the nitrogen reduction to ammonia are presented.It is expected that this review can provide a profound guidance for more specialized design of defect-engineered catalysts with high activity and stability for nitrogen photochemical fixation.Huidong Shen Mengmeng Yang Leiduan Hao Jinrui Wang Jennifer Strunk Zhenyu Sun 2022Nano Research2022,15,4:3
5Modeling,analysis,and simulation of X-shape quasi-zero-stiffness-roller vibration isolators显示文摘Existing quasi-zero stiffness(QZS)isolators are reviewed.In terms of their advantages,a novel X-shape QZS isolator combined with the cam-roller-spring mechanism(CRSM)is proposed.Different from the existing X-shape isolators,oblique springs are used to enhance the negative stiffness of the system.Meanwhile,the CRSM is used to eliminate the gravity of the loading mass,while the X-shape structure leaves its static position.The existing QZS isolators are demonstrated and classified according to their nonlinearity mechanisms and classical shapes.It is shown that the oblique spring can realize negative stiffness based on the simplest mechanism.The X-shape has a strong capacity of loading mass,while the CRSM can achieve a designed restoring force at any position.The proposed isolator combines all these advantages together.Based on the harmonic balance method(HBM)and the simulation,the displacement transmissibilities of the proposed isolator,the X-shape isolators just with oblique springs,and the X-shape isolators in the traditional form are studied.The results show that the proposed isolator has the lowest beginning isolation frequency and the smallest maximum displacement transmissibility.However,it still has some disadvantages similar to the existing QZS isolators.This means that its parameters should be designed carefully so as to avoid becoming a bistable system,in which there are two potential wells in the potential energy curve and thus the isolation performance will be worsened.Xiaoye MAO Mengmeng YIN Hu DING Xiaofeng GENG Yongjun SHEN Liqun CHEN 2022Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2022,43,7:2
6Curcumin alleviates TGF-β1-induced fibrosis in NRK-49F cells via suppression of miR-21 expression,and regulation of the TGF-β1/smad3 signaling pathway显示文摘Objective:Overexpression of microRNA-21(miR-21)has been well-recognized during fibrosis in a wide range of tissue types through regulation of fibrogenesis via diverse pathways.Curcumin exhibits antifibrotic effects in various organs.We and others have previously demonstrated that curcumin has positive effects on the protection against fibrosis.However,the effect of curcumin on miR-21 expression has not been reported.Methods:In this study,transforming growth factor-b1(TGF-b1)-stimulated rat renal fibroblast cells(NRK-49F)were transfected with miR-21 inhibitors,then the expression of Smad3,a-smooth muscle actin(a-SMA),type I collagen(COL1A1),and type III collagen(COL3A1)was determined using quantitative real-time-PCR(qRT-PCR)and western blot analysis.The effect of curcumin on production of the extracellular matrix was evaluated using immunofluorescence,qRT-PCR,and western blot analysis.Results:TGF-b1 stimulation upregulated the expression of miR-21 and induced fibrogenesis in NRK-49F cells.Transfection with miR-21 inhibitors selectively decreased smad3 activity,and noticeably reduced the expression of a-SMA,COL1A1,and COL3A1.Curcumin treatment significantly inhibited the expressions of smad3,a-SMA,COL1A1,COL3A1,as well as miR-21 expression in NRK-49F cells in a dosedependent manner.Conclusion:Curcumin exerted its anti-fibrotic effects by targeting the TGF-b1/smad3 signaling pathway and suppressing miR-21 expression,thereby provides novel insight in the protective effects of curcumin against fibrosis in various organs.Lan Zhang Yi Liu Xiting Wang Cheng Li Mengmeng Shen Liming Di Shuangshuang He Yu Li 2020Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2020,7,1:2
7Novel SFTSV Phylogeny Reveals New Reassortment Events and Migration Routes显示文摘Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus(SFTSV),the causative agent of a febrile human disease,was first identified from central and eastern provinces in China,and later in Japan and South Korea.Hubei Province is one of the major SFTS epidemic areas in the central part of China.This study reported the isolation of 11 new SFTSV strains from patients in Hubei Province collected in 2017.Extensive phylogenetic analyses were conducted based on the complete coding sequences of SFTSV segments including the new strains.It was suggested that five different SFTSV genotypes were circulating in Hubei,and 15 reassortment patterns and migration pathways correlated with each genotype were identified,which was more than previously recognized.Hubei Province was more involved in the evolutionary events of SFTSV than that previously thought in which the evolutionary events of SFTSV were reported to be independent from those in other epidemic regions.Further divergence of SFTSV strains was suggested by pairwise comparison of SFTSV sequences from each genotype and sequence identity normalized to representative strain in genotype C1.Subsequently,amino acid variations specific for genotype(s),strain(s),or cluster(s)were inspected,which may be related to differential biological activity of SFTSV strains/genotypes.In conclusion,we analyzed the current status of SFTSV phylogeny in Hubei Province and discussed the possible events correlated to SFTSV evolution.It provided an in-depth insight into SFTSV evolution,raising concerns for the use of proper SFTSV strains in future studies.Xiaoli Wu Mingyue Li Yanfang Zhang Boyun Liang Junming Shi Yaohui Fang Zhengyuan Su Mengmeng Li Wenjing Zhang Ling Xu Jun Wang Qiaoli Wu Shuang Tang Hualin Wang Tao Zhang Cheng Peng Xin Zheng Fei Deng Shu Shen 2021Virologica Sinica2021,36,2:2
8Suitable lithium polysulfides diffusion and adsorption on CNTs@TiO_(2)-bronze nanosheets surface for high-performance lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘The shuttle effect of lithium polysulfides(UPSs)in lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)has been hampered their commercialization.Metal oxides as separator modifications can suppress the shuttle effect.Since there is no direct electron transport between metal oxides and UPSs,absorbed UPSs should be diffused from the surface of metal oxides to the carbon matrix to go through redox reactions.If diffusivity of UPSs from metal oxides surface to carbon substrate is poor,it would hinder the redox reactions of LiPSs.Nevertheless,researchers tend to focus on the adsorption and overlook the diffusion of UPSs.Herein,same morphology and different crystal phase of TiO_(2) nanosheets grown on carbon nanotubes(CNTs@TiO_(2)-bronze and CNTs@TiO_(2)-anatase)have been designed via a simple approach.Compared with CNTs and CNTs@TiO_(2)-anatase composites,the battery with CNTs@TiO_(2)-bronze modified separator delivers higher specific capacities and stronger cycling stability,especially at high current rates(~472 mAh·g^(-1) at 2.0 C after 1,000 cycles).Adsorption tests,density functional theory calculations and electrochemical performance evaluations indicate that suitable diffusion and adsorption for LiPSs on the CNTs@TiO_(2)-B surface can effectively capture LiPSs and promote the redox reaction,leading to the superior cycling performances.Mengmeng Zhen Keliang Jiang Sheng-Qi Guo Boxiong Shen Huiling Liu 2022Nano Research2022,15,2:2

12Propagation properties of foreshock cavitons: Cluster observations显示文摘Foreshock cavitons are transient phenomena observed in the terrestrial foreshock region.They are characterized by a simultaneous depression of magnetic field magnitude and plasma density,which are bounded with enhancements of these two parameters and surrounded by ultralow frequency(ULF)waves.Previous studies focused on the interplanetary magnetic field(IMF)conditions,solar wind(SW)conditions,and the growth of the foreshock waves related to the generation of foreshock cavitons.Previously,a multipoint spacecraft analysis method using Cluster data was applied to analyze only two foreshock cavitons,and this method did not consider uncertainties.In this study,multipoint spacecraft analysis methods,including the timing method,the minimum directional derivative(MDD)method,and the spatiotemporal difference(STD)method are applied to determine the velocity in both spacecraft and solar wind frames.The propagation properties show good agreement with previous results from simulations and observations that most cavitons move sunward in the solar wind frame,with the velocities larger than the Alfvén speed.The propagation properties of foreshock cavitons support the formation mechanism of cavitons in previous simulations,which suggested that cavitons are formed due to the nonlinear evolution of compressive ULF waves.We find that there is clear decreasing trend between the size of cavitons and their velocity in the solar wind frame.In addition,the timing method considering errors has been applied to study the evolution properties by comparing the velocities with errors of the leading and trailing edges,and we identify three stable cavitons and one contracting caviton,which has not been studied before.Most cavitons should remain stable when they travel toward the Earth’s bow shock.The relationship between the size of foreshock cavitons and their distance from the bow shock is also discussed.WANG MengMeng YAO ShuTao SHI QuanQi ZHANG Hui TIAN AnMin DEGELING Alexander William ZHANG Shuai GUO RuiLong SUN WeiJie LIU Ji BAI ShiChen SHEN XiaoChen ZHU XiaoQiong FU SuiYan PU ZuYin 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,1:1

17Landscape of cell heterogeneity and evolutionary trajectory in ulcerative colitis-associated colon cancer revealed by single-cell RNA sequencing显示文摘Objective:The goal of this study was to get preliminary insight on the intra-tumor heterogeneity in colitisassociated cancer(CAC)and to reveal a potential evolutionary trajectory from ulcerative colitis(UC)to CAC at the single-cell level.Methods:Fresh samples of tumor tissues and adjacent UC tissues from a CAC patient with pT3N1M0 stage cancer were examined by single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq).Data from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)and The Human Protein Atlas were used to confirm the different expression levels in normal and tumor tissues and to determine their relationships with patient prognosis.Results:Ultimately,4,777 single-cell transcriptomes(1,220 genes per cell)were examined,of which 2,250(47%)and 2,527(53%)originated from tumor and adjacent UC tissues,respectively.We defined the composition of cancer-associated stromal cells and identified six cell clusters,including myeloid,T and B cells,fibroblasts,endothelial and epithelial cells.Notable pathways and transcription factors involved in these cell clusters were analyzed and described.Moreover,the precise cellular composition and developmental trajectory from UC to UCassociated colon cancer were graphed,and it was predicted that CD74,CLCA1,and DPEP1 played a potential role in disease progression.Conclusions:scRNA-seq technology revealed intra-tumor cell heterogeneity in UC-associated colon cancer,and might provide a promising direction to identify novel potential therapeutic targets in the evolution from UC to CAC.Quan Wang Zhu Wang Zhen Zhang Wei Zhang Mengmeng Zhang Zhanlong Shen Yingjiang Ye Kewei Jiang Shan Wang 2021Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2021,33,2:1
