| 1 | Collagen-binding basic fibroblast growth factor improves functional remodeling of scarred endometrium in uterine infertile women: a pilot study显示文摘Intrauterine adhesion(IUA) is a common cause of uterine infertility and one of the most severe clinical features is endometrial fibrosis namely endometrial scarring for which there are few cures currently. Blocked angiogenesis is the main pathological change in the scarred endometrium. The fibroblast growth factor 2(b FGF), a member of FGF family, is usually applied to promote healing of refractory ulcer and contributes to angiogenesis of tissues. In this study, the sustained-release system of b FGF100 μg was administrated around scarred endometrium guiding by ultrasound every 4 weeks in 18 patients(2–4 times). Results showed that after treatment, the menstrual blood volume, endometrial thickness and the scarred endometrial area were improved.Histological study showed blood vessel density increased obviously. Three patients(3/18) achieved pregnancy over 20 gestational weeks. | 5 | Effects of exergaming on motor skill competence,perceived competence,and physical activity in preschool children显示文摘Background: Few school settings offer opportunities for preschool children to engage in structured physical activity, and only a few studies have been conducted examining exergaming's effectiveness on health outcomes in this age group. This study's purpose, therefore, was to examine a school-based exergaming intervention's effect on preschool children's perceived competence(PC), motor skill competence(MSC), and physical activity versus usual care(recess), as well as to examine gender differences for these outcomes.Methods: A total of 65 preschool children from 2 underserved urban schools were assigned to 1 of 2 conditions, with the school as the experimental unit:(1) usual care recess group(8 weeks of 100 min of recess/week(5 days ￡ 20 min)) and(2) exergaming intervention group(8 weeks of100 min of exergaming/week(5 days ￡ 20 min) at school). All children underwent identical assessments of PC, MSC, and moderate-to-vigorous physical activity(MVPA) at baseline and at the end of the 8 th week.Results: A significant Group ￡ Time effect was observed for MVPA, F(1, 52) = 4.37, p = 0.04, h2 p= 0.04, but not for PC, F(1, 52) = 0.83, p = 0.37,h2 p= 0.02, or MSC, F(1, 52) = 0.02, p = 0.88, h2 p= 0.00. Specifically, the intervention children displayed significantly greater increased MVPA after8 weeks than the comparison children. Additionally, there was a significant time effect for MSC, F(1, 52) = 15.61, p < 0.01, h2 p= 0.23, and gender effect for MVPA, F(1, 52) = 5.06, p = 0.02, h2 p= 0.09. Although all preschoolers' MSC improved across time, boys demonstrated greater MVPA than girls at both time points.Conclusion: Exergaming showed a positive effect in promoting preschool children's MVPA at school and has the potential to enhance PC and MSC. | 6 | The Association of Socioeconomic Status with the Burden of Cataract-related Blindness and the Effect of Ultraviolet Radiation Exposure: An Ecological Study显示文摘Objective To assess the association of socioeconomic status with the burden of cataract blindness in terms of year lived with disability(YLD) rates and to determine whether ultraviolet radiation(UVR) levels modify the effect of socioeconomic status on this health burden.Methods National and subnational age-standardized YLD rates associated with cataract-related blindness were derived from the Global Burden of Disease(GBD) study 2017. The human development index(HDI) from the Human Development Report was used as a measure of socioeconomic status.Estimated ground-level UVR exposure was obtained from the Ozone Monitoring Instrument(OMI)dataset of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA).Results Across 185 countries, socioeconomic status was inversely associated with the burden of cataract blindness. Countries with a very high HDI had an 84% lower age-standardized YLD rate [95%confidence interval(CI): 60%–93%, P < 0.001] than countries with a low HDI;for high-HDI countries, the proportion was 76%(95% CI: 53%–88%, P < 0.001), and for medium-HDI countries, the proportion was48%(95% CI: 15%–68%, P = 0.010;P for trend < 0.001). The interaction analysis showed that UVR exposure played an interactive role in the association between socioeconomic status and cataract blindness burden(P value for interaction = 0.047).Conclusion Long-term high-UVR exposure amplifies the association of poor socioeconomic status with the burden of cataract-related blindness. | 8 | Microstructural and textural evolutions in multilayered Ti/Cu composites processed by accumulative roll bonding显示文摘Ti/Cu multilayered composites were fabricated via accumulative roll bonding(ARB). During codeformation of the constituent metals, the hard Ti layers necked preferentially and then fragmented with the development of shear bands. Transmission electron microscopy showed that with increasing ARB cycles, grains in Ti were significantly refined even though dynamic recrystallization has occurred. For Cu the significant grain refinement was only found within the shear banded region when the composite was processed after five ARB cycles. Due to the diffusion of Cu atoms into Ti at the heterophase interfaces, amorphization with a width less than 10 nm was identified even in the composite processed by one cycle. At higher ARB cycles, the width of amorphous region increased and intermetallic compounds CuTi appeared from the region. The lattice defects introduced at the heterophase interfaces under roll bonding was responsible for the formation of the nano-scaled compounds. X-ray diffraction showed that an abnormal {1120} fiber texture was developed in Ti layers, while significant brass-type textures were developed in Cu layers. Some orientations along the {1120} fiber favored the prismatic < a> slip for Ti.Tensile tests revealed the elevated strength without a substantial sacrifice of ductility in the composites during ARB. | 20 | Per-oral endoscopic myotomy is safe and effective for pediatric patients with achalasia:A long-term follow-up study显示文摘BACKGROUND Per-oral endoscopic myotomy(POEM)is emerging as a prefer treatment option for pediatric achalasia.However,data are limited on the long-term efficacy of POEM in children and adolescents with achalasia.AIM To evaluate the safety and long-term efficacy of POEM for pediatric patients with achalasia and compare those outcomes with adult patients.METHODS This retrospective cohort study was conducted in patients with achalasia who underwent POEM.Patients aged under 18 years were included in the pediatric group;patients aged between 18 to 65 years who underwent POEM in the same period were assigned to the control group.For investigation of long-term followup,the pediatric group were matched with patients from the control group in a 1:1 ratio.The procedure-related parameters,adverse events,clinical success,gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD)after POEM,and quality of life(QoL)were evaluated.RESULTS From January 2012 to March 2020,POEM was performed in 1025 patients aged under 65 years old(48 in the pediatric group,1025 in the control group).No significant differences were observed in the occurrence of POEM complications between the two groups(14.6%vs 14.6%;P=0.99).Among the 34 pediatric patients(70.8%)who underwent follow-up for 5.7 years(range 2.6-10.6 years),clinical success was achieved in 35 patients(35/36;97.2%).No differences were observed in post-POEM GERD occurrence(17.6%vs 35.3%;P=0.10).QoL was significantly improved in both groups after POEM.CONCLUSION POEM is safe and effective for pediatric patients with achalasia.It can achieve significant symptoms relief and improve QoL. | Ya-Wei Bi Xiao Lei Nan Ru Long-Song Li Nan-Jun Wang Bo Zhang Yi Yao En-Qiang Linghu Ning-Li Chai | 2023 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2023，29，22： | 0 |
