1Lushan M_S7.0 earthquake:A blind reserve-fault event显示文摘In the epicenter of the Lushan MS7.0 earthquake there are several imbricate active reverse faults lying from northwest to southeast,namely the Gengda-Longdong,Yanjing-Wulong,Shuangshi-Dachuan and Dayi faults.Emergency field investigations have indicated that no apparent earthquake surface rupture zones were located along these active faults or their adjacent areas.Only brittle compressive ruptures in the cement-covered pavements can be seen in Shuangshi,Taiping,Longxing and Longmen Townships,and these ruptures show that a local crustal shortening occurred in the region during the earthquake.Combining spatial distribution of the relocated aftershocks and focal mechanism solutions,it is inferred that the Lushan earthquake is classified as a typical blind reverse-fault earthquake,and it is advised that the relevant departments should pay great attention to other historically un-ruptured segments along the Longmenshan thrust belt and throughout its adjacent areas.XU XiWei WEN XueZe HAN ZhuJun CHEN GuiHua LI ChuanYou ZHENG WenJun ZHNAG ShiMin REN ZhiQun XU Chong TAN XiBin WEI ZhanYu WANG MingMing REN JunJie HE ZhongTai LIANG MingJian 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28:35
2Pressure sintering of W-15wt.%Cu alloys prepared by mechanical alloying as a subsequent densification treatment method显示文摘The sintered W-15wt.%Cu alloys fabricated by mechanical alloying were re-sintered under pressure to increase the density and improve the properties of these alloys. The pressure was applied vertically along the axis of the sintered sample. Properties such as density, hardness, and bending strength were measured. The microstructures of the sintered bod- ies were observed. The results showed that the subsequent pressure sintering could increase the density of the sintered W-15wt.%Cu alloys. 4Burden of pancreatitis and associated risk factors in China,1990 to 2019:a systematic analysis for the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019显示文摘Background: Pancreatitis is a common disease of the digestive system. Acute pancreatitis is one of the most common reasons for gastrointestinal hospital admission, and chronic pancreatitis significantly reduces quality of life. However, national epidemiological data on pancreatitis in China are lacking. This study aimed to quantify the disease burden of pancreatitis in China from 1990 to 2019.Methods: This study was based on the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019 dataset. Age-standardized rates of incidence (ASIR), prevalence (ASPR), mortality (ASMR), and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) were used to describe the disease burden of pancreatitis, and estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) was used to indicate the average change in age-standardized rates. We also described the trend of pancreatitis-related mortality and DALYs, which are attributable to alcohol use by age and sex.Results: From 1990 to 2019, the ASIR, ASPR, ASMR, and age-standardized DALYs of pancreatitis in China decreased by 10.90, 1.50, 0.49, and 15.54 per 100,000, respectively, with EAPCs of -1.35 (95% uncertainty interval [UI]: -1.67, -1.02) and -0.37 (95% UI: -0.43, -0.31), -2.01 (95% UI: -2.07, -1.94) and -2.32 (95% UI: -2.37, -2.28), respectively. Recently, the numbers of incident and prevalent cases have risen, with estimates of 380,018 (95% UI: 308,669-462,767) and 493,765 (95% UI: 416,705-578,675), respectively, in 2019. Among men, the disease burden of pancreatitis was more severe than among women, and with variances in the distribution among different age groups. Age-standardized DALYs caused by alcohol-related pancreatitis have gradually worsened in the past decade, accounting for 34.09% of the total in 2019.Conclusions: The disease burden of pancreatitis in China has declined in the past 30 years, but the exacerbation of population aging poses a challenge to prevention and control of pancreatitis. 5Information environment,market-wide sentiment and IPO initial returns:Evidence from analyst forecasts before listing显示文摘Measuring the information environment of firms using analyst(price)forecast bias and forecast dispersion before listing,we empirically examine the interactive influence of the information environment and market-wide sentiment on the initial returns of initial public offerings(IPOs).We find the smaller the analyst forecast bias/dispersion,the lower the effect market-wide sentiment has on IPO initial returns.This finding indicates that information asymmetry is a basic reason for noise trading occurs and demonstrates the positive effect of financial analysts during IPOs.In addition,the effect of analyst forecasts is more pronounced during periods of rising markets and when IPO prices are not regulated.Hongjun Zhu Cheng Zhang He Li Shimin Chen 2015China Journal of Accounting Research2015,,3:2
6Current status,trends,and predictions in the burden of gallbladder and biliary tract cancer in China from 1990 to 2019显示文摘Background:Gallbladder and biliary tract cancer(GBTC)has greatly damaged the health of patients and is accompanied by a dismal prognosis.The worldwide distribution of GBTC shows extensive variance and the updated data in China is lacking.This study was to determine the current status,trends,and predictions in the burden of GBTC over the past 30 years in China.Methods:This was a descriptive,epidemiological,secondary analysis of the Global Burden of Disease,Injuries,and Risk Factor Study 2019 data.Data including incidence,prevalence,mortality,and disability-adjusted life years(DALYs)of GBTC in China by year,age,and sex were assessed.Joinpoint regression analysis was conducted to evaluate trends of disease burden due to GBTC from 1990 to 2019.Nordpred age-period-cohort analysis was applied for the projection of mortality and incidence due to GBTC from 2019 to 2044.Results:Nationally,there were 38,634(95%uncertainty interval[UI]:27,350-46,512)new cases and 47,278(95%UI:32,889-57,229)patients due to GBTC,causing 34,462(95%UI:25,220-41,231)deaths,and 763,584(95%UI:566,755-920,493)DALYs in 2019.Both cases and rates of burden owing to GBTC were heavier among males and at old age.From 1990 to 2019,the age-standardized rates of incidence,prevalence,mortality,and DALYs of GBTC generally increased from 1990 to 2019,with average annual percentage change at 0.8%(95%confidential interval[CI]:0.6-1.0%),1.3%(95%CI:1.1-1.5%),0.4%(95%CI:0.2-0.6%),and 0.2%(95%CI:0.1-0.4%),respectively.Even though the age-standardized incidence rate and agestandardized mortality rate in both sexes were predicted to decline gradually from 2019 to 2044,the number of new cases and deaths were expected to grow steadily.Conclusions:GBTC is becoming a major health burden in China,particularly among males and older individuals.Given the aging population and increasing burden,effective strategies and measurements are urged to prevent or reduce the number of new cases and deaths of GBTC.Shimin Chen Ke Han Yang Song Shaohua Liu Xuehang Li Shengshu Wang Haowei Li Rongrong Li Jianhua Wang Yao He Miao Liu 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,14:2

8Chinese herbal dose in ancient and modern times:a comparative study显示文摘OBJECTIVE:Appropriate dose guarantees Chinese herb's safety and effectiveness.There are adult dose criteria for Chinese herbs in decoction in the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China(2010 Edition) at present.But Chinese herbs have been frequently used in much higher doses than the dose criteria.This study has been conducted to test the dependability of the dose criteria.METHODS:Twenty Chinese herbs were selected as representatives and their adult doses in decoction in Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang,a famous ancient literature,have been reviewed and compared with those in the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic ofChina(2010 Edition).RESULTS:The adult dose criteria for all these 20 Chinese herbs in the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China(2010 Edition) haven't covered those in Bei Ji Qian Jin Yao Fang.Furthermore,maximal adult doses in the dose criteria are much lower than those in BeiJiQianJinYaoFang.CONCLUSION:The dose criteria in the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China(2010 Edition) are not comprehensive enough.Studying ancient literatures is an effective method to gain precious Chinese herbs' dose data and helps for new dose criteria's establishment in the future.Shimin He 2013Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,2:1
9Role of blood pressure on stroke-related mortality:a 45-year follow-up study in China显示文摘Background:Hypertension is associated with stroke-related mortality.However,the long-term association of blood pressure(BP)and the risk of stroke-related mortality and the influence path of BP on stroke-related death remain unknown.The current study aimed to estimate the long-term causal associations between BP and stroke-related mortality and the potential mediating and moderated mediating model of the associations.Methods:This is a 45-year follow-up cohort study and a total of 1696 subjects were enrolled in 1976 and 1081 participants died by the latest follow-up in 2020.COX proportional hazard model was used to explore the associations of stroke-related death with baseline systolic blood pressure(SBP)/diastolic blood pressure(DBP)categories and BP changes from 1976 to 1994.The mediating and moderated mediating effects were performed to detect the possible influencing path from BP to stroke-related deaths.E value was calculated in the sensitivity analysis.Results:Among 1696 participants,the average age was 44.38±6.10 years,and 1124 were men(66.3%).After a 45-year follow-up,a total of 201(11.9%)stroke-related deaths occurred.After the adjustment,the COX proportional hazard model showed that among the participants with SBP≥160 mmHg or DBP≥100 mmHg in 1976,the risk of stroke-related death increased by 217.5%(hazard ratio[HR]=3.175,95%confidence interval[CI]:2.297-4.388),and the adjusted HRs were higher in male participants.Among the participants with hypertension in 1976 and 1994,the risk of stroke-related death increased by 110.4%(HR=2.104,95%CI:1.632-2.713),and the adjusted HRs of the BP changes were higher in male participants.Body mass index(BMI)significantly mediated the association of SBP and stroke-related deaths and this mediating effect was moderated by gender.Conclusions:In a 45-year follow-up,high BP and persistent hypertension are associated with stroke-related death,and these associations were even more pronounced in male participants.The paths of association are mediated by BMI and moderated by gender.Shengshu Wang Shanshan Yang Wangping Jia Ke Han Yang Song Jing Zeng Wenzhe Cao Shaohua Liu Shimin Chen Zhiqiang Li Xuehang Li Penggang Tai Fuyin Kou Yao He Miao Liu 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,4:1

14Deformation control criterion of shield tunnel under lateral relaxation of soft soil显示文摘Metro shield tunnels under the lateral relaxation of soil(LRS)are susceptible to significant lateral deformations,which jeopardizes the structural safety and waterproofing.However,deformation control standards for such situations have not been clearly defined.Therefore,based on a specific case,a model test is conducted to realize the LRS of a shield tunnel in a sandy stratum to reveal its effect on segment liners.Subsequently,a deformation control criterion is established.The LRS is simulated by linearly reducing the loads applied to the lateral sides of the segment structure.During lateral unloading,the lateral earth pressure coefficient on the segment decreases almost exponentially,and the structural deformation is characterized by horizontal expansion at the arch haunches and vertical shrinkage at the arch vault and arch bottom.Based on the mechanical pattern of the segment structure and the acoustic emission,the deformation response of a segment can be classified into three stages:elastic and quasi-elastic,damage,and rapid deformation development.For a shield tunnel with a diameter of approximately 6 m and under the lateral relaxation of sandy soil,when the ellipticity of the segment is less than 2.71%,reinforcement measures are not required.However,the segment deformation must be controlled when the ellipticity is 2.71%to 3.12%;in this regard,an ellipticity of 3%can be used as a benchmark in similar engineering projects.Shimin WANG Xiaoyu PENG Hang ZHOU Xuhu HE Anqi ZHOU Bing CHEN 2023Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2023,17,5:0

17Overshoot phenomena:Observation and simulation显示文摘High-power O-mode radio waves can excite artificial instabilities in the F region,according to experiments conducted at the European Incoherent Scatter Science Association(EISCAT)heating facility.The main instabilities include the parametric decay instability(PDI),oscillating two-stream instability(OTSI),and thermal parametric instability(TPI).The PDI and OTSI not only compete with each other,but also compete with the TPI,leading to a two-stage overshoot phenomenon:a miniovershoot occurs on a millisecond time scale after pump-on,followed by the main overshoot.We gain insight into the miniovershoot via a generalized Zakharov model,whereas the main overshoot can be observed as an enhanced plasma line overshoot phenomenon in incoherent scatter radar spectra.We can also observe that the zero-frequency ion line exists only in the initial heating period after a cold start and that the upshifted and downshifted ion lines behave irregularly in the spectra.The simulation results show that competition between the PDI and OTSI leads to an initial peak,which we named the pre-miniovershoot.The following processes,namely ion density caviton generation,and collapse and cascade in the development of the PDI,contribute to the miniovershoot phenomenon.Ting Feng MoRan Liu ShiMin He Xiang Wang Chen Zhou 2024Earth and Planetary Physics2024,8,2:0

20Regulating the conductance of tungsten diselenide by oxygen plasma and improving its electrical stability by encapsulation显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)tungsten selenide(WSe_(2))is promising candidate material for future electronic applications,owing to its potential for ultimate device scaling.For improving the electronic performance of WSe_(2)-based field-effect transistors(FETs),the modification of surface properties is essential.In this study,the seamless structural phase transition in WSe_(2) lattice is achieved by soft oxygen plasma,regulating the electrical conductance of WSe_(2)-based FETs.We found that during the soft oxygen plasma treatment with optimal processing time,the generated oxygen ions can substitute some selenium atoms and thus locally modify the bond length,inducing 2H→1T phase transition in WSe_(2) with seamless interfaces.The mosaic structures have been proven to tailor the electronic structure and increase the hole carrier concentration inside WSe_(2),significantly increasing the channel conductance of WSe_(2) FETs.With the further increase of the oxygen plasma treatment time,the creation of more selenium vacancy defects leads to the electronic doping,resulting in the reduction of conductance.Benefiting from the hexagonal boron nitride(h-BN)encapsulation to interrupt the partial structural relaxation from 1T to 2H phase,our WSe_(2) FET exhibits high electronic stability with conductance of 6.8×10^(-4) S,which is about four orders of magnitude higher than 2H WSe_(2)(5.8×10^(-8) S).This study could further broaden the WSe_(2) FETs in applications for functionalization and integration in electronics.Zhaofang Cheng Shaodan He Shimin Zhang Shijun Duan Min Wang Ziyu Liu Rong Zhang Wenya Qiang Xudong Zhang Minggang Xia 2024Nano Research2024,17,4:0
