3Intermetallic Cu_(5)Zr Clusters Anchored on Hierarchical Nanoporous Copper as Efficient Catalysts for Hydrogen Evolution Reaction显示文摘Designing highly active and robust platinum-free electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction is vital for large-scale and efficient production of hydrogen through electrochemical water splitting.Here,we report nonprecious intermetallic Cu_(5)Zr clusters that are in situ anchored on hierarchical nanoporous copper(NP Cu/Cu_(5)Zr)for efficient hydrogen evolution in alkaline medium.By virtue of hydroxygenated zirconium atoms activating their nearby Cu-Cu bridge sites with appropriate hydrogenbinding energy,the Cu_(5)Zr clusters have a high electrocatalytic activity toward the hydrogen evolution reaction.Associated with unique architecture featured with steady and bicontinuous nanoporous copper skeleton that facilitates electron transfer and electrolyte accessibility,the self-supported monolithic NP Cu/Cu_(5)Zr electrodes boost violent hydrogen gas release,realizing ultrahigh current density of 500mAcm^(-2) at a low potential of-280mV versus reversible hydrogen electrode,with exceptional stability in 1M KOH solution.The electrochemical properties outperform those of state-of-the-art nonprecious metal electrocatalysts and make them promising candidates as electrodes in water splitting devices.Hang Shi Yi-Tong Zhou Rui-Qi Yao Wu-Bin Wan Qing-Hua Zhang Lin Gu Zi Wen Xing-You Lang Qing Jiang 2020Research2020,,1:4
4Comparison of survival between adolescent and young adult vs older patients with hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘BACKGROUND Due to the special clinical features and biologic characteristics of adolescent and young adult(AYA)cancers,AYA cancers are different from cancers in children and elderly individuals.However,there are few reports on AYA hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).AIM To investigate the overall survival(OS)of AYA(15-39 years)and elderly(40-74 years)patients with HCC.METHODS The data of all the HCC cases were extracted from the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results database from 2004 to 2015 and were then divided into two groups based on age:AYA group(15-39 years)and older group(40-74 years).Kaplan-Meier curves and log-rank tests were used to compare the OS of the two groups.Propensity score matching(PSM)was employed to analyze the OS difference between the two groups.The Cox proportional hazards regression model was used to perform multivariate analysis to explore the risk factors for OS of HCC patients.RESULTS Compared to elderly cancer patients,AYA patients with HCC had a worse Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results stage,including the distant stage(22.1%vs 15.4%,P<0.001),and a more advanced American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC)stage,including AJCC III and IV(49.2%vs 38.3%,P<0.001),and were more likely to receive surgery(64.5%vs 47.5%,P<0.001).Before PSM,the AYA group had a longer survival in months(median:20.00,interquartile range[IQR]:5.00-62.50)than the older group(median:15.00,IQR:4.00-40.00)(P<0.001).After PSM,the AYA group still had a longer survival in months(median:21.00,IQR:5.00-64.50)than the older group(median:18.00,IQR:6.00-53.00)(P<0.001).The Cox proportional hazards regression model showed that advanced age(hazard ratio[HR]=1.405,95%CI:1.218-1.621,P<0.001)was a risk factor for OS of HCC patients.In the subgroup analysis,the Cox proportional hazards regression model showed that in AJCC I/II HCC patients,advanced age(HR=1.749,95%CI:1.352-2.263,P<0.001)was a risk factor for OS,while it was not a risk factor in AJCC III/IV HCC patients(HR=1.186,95%CI:0.997-1.410,P=0.054)before PSM.After PSM,advanced age(HR=1.891,95%CI:1.356-2.637,P<0.001)was still a risk factor for OS in AJCC I/II HCC patients,but was not a risk factor for OS in AJCC III/IV HCC patients(HR=1.192,95%CI:0.934-1.521,P=0.157)after PSM.CONCLUSION AYA patients with HCC have different clinical characteristics from older adults.In different AJCC stages,the two groups of patients have different OS:In AJCC I/II HCC patients,advanced age is a risk factor for OS,but it is not a risk factor for OS in the AJCC III/IV HCC patient group.Jie Ren Ying-Mu Tong Rui-Xia Cui Zi Wang Qing-Lin Li Wei Liu Kai Qu Jing-Yao Zhang Chang Liu Yong Wan 2020World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2020,12,12:3

6Psychological burden prediction based on demographic variables among infertile men with sexual dysfunction显示文摘There has been increasing interest in the psycho-socio-relational and sexual disorders of infertility,as the risk of psychological burden among in fertile men with sexual dysf un ctio ns is sign ifica nt.The purpose of this study was to develop and to validate a predictive model to estimate in dividual psychological burde n among in fertile men with sexual dysf unction and study the associati on betwee n them.Comprehe nsive data were collected for in fertile men(n=480)who sought treatme nt for infertility in a reproductive medici ne center between June 2012 and December 2013.Using independent predictors of psychological burden from the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator,univariable and multivariable analyses were developed into two models.Predictive accuracy was compared between the models.We explored the association between sexual dysfunction and psychological burden.A total of 480 patie nts were an a lyzed using 10-fold cross-validatio n.In depende nt predictors of psychological burde n were incorporated into a model to measure anxiety(corrected-area under curve(AUC):77.3%)and a model to measure depression(corrected-AUC:70.2%).Anxiety and depression were both associated with erectile dysfunction(P<0.05),with anxiety demonstrating the strongest association.Only anxiety was associated with premature ejaculation(P>0.05).Premature ejaculation was not found to be associated with depression(P>0.05).Predictive models for psychological burden among infertile men with sexual dysfunction are presented,and we found that there is an association between psychological burden and sexual dysfunction.According to the models,proper counseling and treatment of sexual dysfunction in infertile men may reduce the psychological burden,help attain natural pregnancy,and improve the quality of life.Hai-Ming Cao Zi Wan Yong Gao Jun-Long Zhang Yan Zhang Hai-Peng Xiao Xiang-An Tu Xiang-Zhou Sun Chun-Hua Deng 2019Asian Journal of Andrology2019,21,2:3
7Weldability of Low Carbon Transformation Induced Plasticity Steel显示文摘Transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) steel exhibited high or rather high carbon equivalent (CE) because of its chemical composition, which was a particularly detrimental factor affecting weldability of steels. Thus the weldability of a TRIP steel (grade 600) containing (in mass percent, %) 0.11C-1.19Si-1.67Mn was extensively studied. The mechanical properties and impact toughness of butt joint, the welding crack susceptibility of weld and heat affected zone (HAZ) for tee joint, control thermal severity (CTS) of the welded joint, and Y shape 60° butt joint were measured after the gas metal arc welding (GMAW) test. The tensile strength of the weld was higher than 700 MPa. Both in the fusion zone (FZ) and HAZ for butt joint, the impact toughness was much higher than 27 J, either at room temperature or at -20 ℃, indicating good low temperature impact ductility of the weld of TRIP 600 steel. In addition, welding crack susceptibility tests revealed that weldments were free of surface crack and other imperfection. All experimental results of this steel showed fairly good weldability. 8The Influence of Diabetes, Hypertension, and Hyperlipidemia on the Onset of Age-Related Macular Degeneration in North China: The Kailuan Eye Study显示文摘Objective To analyze the prevalence of dry and wet age-related macular degeneration(AMD)in patients with diabetes,hypertension and hyperlipidemia,and to analyze the risk factors for AMD.Methods A population-based cross-sectional epidemiologic study was conducted involving 14,440 individuals.We assessed the prevalence of dry and wet AMD in diabetic and non-diabetic subjects and analyzed the risk factors for AMD.Results The prevalence of wet AMD in diabetic and non-diabetic patients was 0.3%and 0.5%,respectively,and the prevalence of dry AMD was 17%and 16.4%,respectively.The prevalence of wet AMD in healthy,hypertensive,hyperlipidemic,and hypertensive/hyperlipidemic populations was 0.5%,0.3%,0.2%,and 0.7%,respectively.The prevalence of dry AMD in healthy,hypertensive,hyperlipidemic,and hypertensive/hyperlipidemic populations was 16.6%,16.2%,15.2%,and 17.2%,respectively.Age,sex,body mass index,and use of hypoglycemic drugs or lowering blood pressure drugs were corrected in the risk factor analysis of AMD.Diabetes,diabetes/hypertension,diabetes/hyperlipidemia,and diabetes/hypertension/hyperlipidemia were analyzed.None of the factors analyzed in the current study increased the risk for the onset of AMD.Conclusion There was no significant difference in the prevalence of wet and dry AMD among diabetic and non-diabetic subjects.Similarly,there was no significant difference in the prevalence of wet and dry AMD among subjects with hypertension and hyperlipidemia.Diabetes co-existing with hypertension and hyperlipidemia were not shown to be risk factors for the onset of dry AMD.ZHANG Yong Peng WANG Ya Xing ZHOU Jin Qiong WANG Qian YAN Yan Ni YANG Xuan YANG Jing Yan ZHOU Wen Jia WANG Ping SHEN Chang YANG Ming LUAN Ya Nan WANG Jin Yuan WU Shou Ling CHEN Shuo Hua WANG Hai Wei FANG Li Jian WAN Qian Qian ZHU Jing Yuan NIE Zi Han CHEN Yu Ning XIE Ying JONAS JB WEI Wen Bin 2022Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2022,35,7:2
9An alternative surgical technique for varicoceles:a preliminary experience of the microsurgical spermatic(distal end)-inferior or superficial epigastric vein anastomosis in symptomatic varicoceles associated with perineal pain显示文摘Many therapies are effective in treating varicoceles,including dilation of the pampiniform plexus in males.The most common method of treatment is varicocelectomy.We aimed to assess an alternative technique(microsurgical spermatic[distal end]-superficial or inferior epigastric vein anastomosis)that preserves the normal blood flow pattern for varicocele treatment.We retrospectively analyzed 27 men with varicocele between October 2019 and July 2020.All patients underwent microsurgical spermatic(distal end)-superficial or inferior epigastric vein anastomosis.The prognosis was reviewed retrospectively with an additional survey conducted 3 months after surgery.The mean±standard deviation of the age was 26.1±7.3 years in patients with microsurgical spermatic(distal end)-superficial or inferior epigastric vein anastomosis.The maximum diameter of the varicocele vein,perineal pain score,sperm density,and forward movement of sperm improved over 3 months after surgery.Microsurgical spermatic(distal end)-superficial or inferior epigastric vein anastomosis is a safe and efficient surgical treatment for varicoceles.Zi Wan Hai-Ming Cao Bi-Cheng Yang Yong Gao Li Ding Peng Luo Guang-Wen Yang Lin Ma Chun-Hua Deng 2022Asian Journal of Andrology2022,24,6:2

14Ultrahigh-energy and-power aqueous rechargeable zinc-ion microbatteries based on highly cation-compatible vanadium oxides显示文摘Aqueous multivalent-metal-ion intercalation chemistries hold genuine promise to develop safe and powerful microbatteries for potential use in many miniaturized electronics.However,their development is beset by state-of-the-art electrode materials having practical capacities far below their theoretical values.Here we demonstrate that high compatibility between layered transition-metal oxide hosts and hydrated cation guests substantially boost their multi-electron-redox reactions to offer higher capacities and rate capability,based on typical bipolar vanadium oxides preintercalated with hydrated cations(M_(x)V_(2)O_(5)).When seamlessly integrated on Au current microcollectors with a three-dimensional bicontinuous nanoporous architecture that offers high pathways of electron transfer and ion transport,the constituent Zn_(x)V_(2)O_(5) exhibits specific capacity of as high as∼527 mAh g^(−1) at 5 mV s^(−1) and retains∼300 mAh g^(−1) at 200 mV s^(−1) in 1 M ZnSO_(4) aqueous electrolyte,outperforming the M_(x)V_(2)O_(5)(M=Li,Na,K,Mg).This allows aqueous rechargeable zinc-ion microbatteries constructed with symmetric nanoporous Zn_(x)V_(2)O_(5)/Au interdigital microelectrodes as anode and cathode to show high-density energy of∼358 mWh cm^(−3)(a value that is forty-fold higher than that of 4 V/500μAh Li thin film battery)at high levels of power delivery.Sheng-Bo Wang Qing Ran Wu-Bin Wan Hang Shi Shu-Pei Zeng Zi Wen Xing-You Lang Qing Jiang 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,25:1
15Improvement of the SST γ-Re_(θt) transition model for flows along a curved hydrofoil显示文摘The transition in the boundary-layer flow affects the hydrodynamic performances of hydraulic machineries,as the key components in the ship propulsion system.The shear stress transfer(SST)γ-Re_(θt) transition model is an important prediction tool in the boundary layer simulation for hydrofoils.The present paper improves the prediction accuracy of the SST γ-Re_(θt) model for the boundary layers along a curved hydrofoil.The SST γ-Re_(θt) transition model for the flows along a curved hydrofoil is improved by introducing a correction to the transition onset Reynolds number Reθt.First,the transition onset locations for the flows along the hydrofoils of different curvatures are obtained by the large eddy simulation and by using the SST γ-Re_(θt) model.Then,the transition onset Reynolds numbers Reθt in the SST γ-Re_(θt) model is modified to ensure that the predicted boundary layer parameters are consistent with the large eddy simulation(LES)results.The correlation function between the curvature ratio and the modified transition onset Reynolds number is obtained and subsequently used as a correction function in the original SST γ-Re_(θt) model.Three test cases are used to evaluate the performance of the improved SST γ-Re_(θt) model.For the NACA0035 hydrofoil with a large curvature,the predicted results obtained by using the improved SST γ-Re_(θt) model are quite consistent with the experimental data,which indicates the advantages of the improved model in predicting the boundary layer transition along a hydrofoil.In the test cases of the NACA0016 hydrofoil with a mild curvature and the NACA66(mod)-312 hydrofoil,the prediction results of the improved model are in good agreement with the experimental results in terms of the wake region and the boundary layer parameters,which indicates that the improved SST γ-Re_(θt) model can serve as a powerful tool in the design and the optimization of hydraulic machineries such as the waterjet pumps or the naval propellers.Chang-liang Ye Chao-yue Wang Dan Zi Yuan Tang Bart.P.M.van Esch Fu-jun Wan 2021Journal of Hydrodynamics2021,33,3:1
