| 3 | Differentiation of Hepatocellular Carcinoma from Hepatic Hemangioma and Focal Nodular Hyperplasia using Computed Tomographic Spectral Imaging显示文摘Background and Aims:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the most common primary hepatic malignancy.This study was designed to investigate the value of computed tomography(CT)spectral imaging in differentiating HCC from hepatic hemangioma(HH)and focal nodular hyperplasia(FNH).Methods:This was a retrospective study of 51 patients who underwent spectral multiple-phase CT at 40–140 keV during the arterial phase(AP)and portal venous phase(PP).Slopes of the spectral curves,iodine density,water density derived from iodine-and water-based material decomposition images,iodine uptake ratio(IUR),normalized iodine concentration,and the ratio of iodine concentration in liver lesions between AP and PP were measured or calculated.Results:As energy level decreased,the CT values of HCC(n=31),HH(n=17),and FNH(n=7)increased in both AP and PP.There were significant differences in IUR in the AP,IUR in the PP,normalized iodine concentration in the AP,slope in the AP,and slope in the PP among HCC,HH,and FNH.The CT values in AP,IUR in the AP and PP,normalized iodine concentration in the AP,slope in the AP and PP had high sensitivity and specificity in differentiating HH and HCC from FNH.Quantitative CT spectral data had higher sensitivity and specificity than conventional qualitative CT image analysis during the combined phases.Conclusions:Mean CT values at low energy(40–90 keV)and quantitative analysis of CT spectral data(IUR in the AP)could be helpful in the differentiation of HCC,HH,and FNH. | Weixia Li Ruokun Li Xiangtian Zhao Xiaozhu Lin Yixing Yu Jing Zhang Kemin Chen Weimin Chai Fuhua Yan | 2021 | Journal of Clinical and Translational Hepatology2021,9,3: | 6 |
| 4 | Macroporous Ni foam-supported Co_3O_4 nanobrush and nanomace hybrid arrays for high-efficiency CO oxidation显示文摘Herein, we reported the synthesis of well-defined Co_3O_4 nanoarrays(NAs) supported on a monolithic three-dimensional macroporous nickel(Ni) foam substrate for use in highefficiency CO oxidation. The monolithic Co_3O_4 NAs catalysts were obtained through a generic hydrothermal synthesis route with subsequent calcination. By controlling the reaction time,solvent polarity and deposition agent, these Co_3O_4 NAs catalysts exhibited various novel morphologies(single or hybrid arrays), whose physicochemical properties were further characterized by using several analytical techniques. Based on the catalytic and characterization analyses, it was found that the Co_3O_4 NAs-6 catalyst with nanobrush and nanomace arrays displayed enhanced catalytic activity for CO oxidation, achieving an efficient 100% CO oxidation conversion at a gas hourly space velocity(GHSV) 10,000 hr^(-1) and 150°C with longterm stability. | 5 | Hybrid Precoder and Combiner Design with Finite Resolution PSs for mmWave MIMO Systems显示文摘Hybrid precoding and combining have been considered as a promising technology, which can provide a compromise between hardware complexity and system performance in millimeter wave multiple-input multiple-output systems. However, most existing hybrid precoder and combiner designs generally assume that infinite resolution phase shifters(PSs) are used to produce the analog beamformers. In a practical scene, the design with accurate PSs can lead to high hardware cost and power consumption. In this paper, we investigate the hybrid precoder and combiner design with finite resolution PSs in millimeter wave systems. We employ alternate optimization as the main strategy to jointly design analog precoder and combiner. In addition, we propose a low complexity algorithm, where the analog beamformers are implemented only by finite resolution PSs to maximize spectral efficiency. Then, the digital precoder and combiner are designed based on the obtained analog beamformers to improve the spectral efficiency. | 6 | Overexpression of miR-101 suppresses collagen synthesis by targeting EZH2 in hypertrophic scar fibroblasts显示文摘Background:MicroRNA-101(miR-101)is a tumor suppressor microRNA(miRNA)and its loss is associated with the occurrence and progression of various diseases.However,the biological function and target of miR-101 in the pathogenesis of hypertrophic scars(HS)remains unknown.Methods:We harvested HS and paired normal skin(NS)tissue samples from patients and cultured their fibroblasts(HSF and NSF,respectively).We used quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR),fluorescence in situ hybridization(FISH),enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays(ELISA)and Western blot analyses to measure mRNA levels and protein expression of miR-101,enhancer of zeste homolog 2(EZH2),collagen 1 and 3(Col1 and Col3)andα-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA)in different in vitro conditions.We also used RNA sequencing to evaluate the relevant signaling pathways and bioinformatics analysis and dual-luciferase reporter assays to predict miR-101 targets.We utilized a bleomycin-induced fibrosis mouse model in which we injected miR-101 mimics to evaluate collagen deposition in vivo.Results:We found low expression of miR-101 in HS and HSF compared to NS and NSF.Overexpressing miR-101 decreased Col1,Col3 andα-SMA expression in HSF.We detected high expression of EZH2 in HS and HSF.Knockdown of EZH2 decreased Col1,Col3 andα-SMA in HSF.Mechanistically,miR-101 targeted the 3-untranslated region(3UTR)of EZH2,as indicated by the decreased expression of EZH2.Overexpressing EZH2 rescued miR-101-induced collagen repression.MiR-101 mimics effectively suppressed collagen deposition in the bleomycin-induced fibrosis mouse model.Conclusions:Our data reveal that miR-101 targets EZH2 in HS collagen production,providing new insight into the pathological mechanisms underlying HS formation. | Jie Li Yan Li Yunchuan Wang Xiang He Jing Wang Weixia Cai Yanhui Jia Dan Xiao Jian Zhang Ming Zhao Kuo Shen Zichao Li Wenbin Jia Kejia Wang Yue Zhang Linlin Su Huayu Zhu Dahai Hu | 2021 | Burns & Trauma2021,9,1: | 3 |
| 7 | The Notch pathway attenuates burn-induced acute lung injury in rats by repressing reactive oxygen species显示文摘Background:Acute lung injury(ALI)is a common complication following severe burns.The underlying mechanisms of ALI are incompletely understood;thus,available treatments are not sufficient to repair the lung tissue after ALI.Methods:To investigate the relationship between the Notch pathway and burn-induced lung injury,we established a rat burn injury model by scalding and verified lung injury via lung injury evaluations,including hematoxylin and eosin(H&E)staining,lung injury scoring,bronchoalveolar lavage fluid and wet/dry ratio analyses,myeloperoxidase immunohistochemical staining and reac-tive oxygen species(ROS)accumulation analysis.To explore whether burn injury affects Notch1 expression,we detected the expression of Notch1 and Hes1 after burn injury.Then,we extracted pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells(PMVECs)and conducted Notch pathway inhibition and activation experiments,via aγ-secretase inhibitor(GSI)and OP9-DLL1 coculture,respectively,to verify the regulatory effect of the Notch pathway on ROS accumulation and apoptosis in burn-serum-stimulated PMVECs.To investigate the regulatory effect of the Notch pathway on ROS accumulation,we detected the expression of oxidative-stress-related molecules such as superoxide dismutase,nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate(NADPH)oxidase(NOX)2,NOX4 and cleaved caspase-3.NOX4-specific small interfering RNA(siRNA)and the inhibitor GKT137831 were used to verify the regulatory effect of the Notch pathway on ROS via NOX4.Results:We successfully established a burn model and revealed that lung injury,excessive ROS accumulation and an inflammatory response occurred.Notch1 detection showed that the expression of Notch1 was significantly increased after burn injury.In PMVECs challenged with burn serum,ROS and cell death were elevated.Moreover,when the Notch pathway was suppressed by GSI,ROS and cell apoptosis levels were significantly increased.Conversely,these parameters were reduced when the Notch pathway was activated by OP9-DLL1.Mechanistically,the inhibition of NOX4 by siRNA and GKT137831 showed that the Notch pathway reduced ROS production and cell apoptosis by downregulating the expression of NOX4 in PMVECs.Conclusions:The Notch pathway reduced ROS production and apoptosis by downregulating the expression of NOX4 in burn-stimulated PMVECs.The Notch-NOX4 pathway may be a novel therapeutic target to treat burn-induced ALI. | Weixia Cai Kuo Shen Peng Ji Yanhui Jia Shichao Han Wanfu Zhang Xiaolong Hu Xuekang Yang Juntao Han Dahai Hu | 2022 | Burns & Trauma2022,10,1: | 2 |
| 8 | Crop Insurance Premium Ratemaking Based on Survey Data:A Case Study from Dingxing County, China显示文摘Premium ratemaking is an important issue to guarantee insurance balance of payments. Most ratemaking methods require large samples of long-term loss data or farm-level yield data, which are often unavailable in developing countries. This study develops a crop insurance ratemaking method with survey data. The method involves a questionnaire survey on characteristic yield information(average yield, high yield, and low yield) of farming households’ cropland. After compensating for random error, the probability distributions of farm-level yields are simulated with characteristic yields based on the linear additive model. The premium rate is calculated based on Monte Carlo yield simulation results. This method was applied to Dingxing County, North China to arrive at the insurance loss cost ratio and calculate the necessary premium rate.
