| 1 | GBSS-BINDING PROTEIN,encoding a CBM48 domain-containing protein,affects rice quality and yield^∞显示文摘The percentage of amylose in the endosperm of rice(Oryza sativa)largely determines grain cooking and eating qualities.Granule-bound starch synthase I(GBSSI)and GBSSII are responsible for amylose biosynthesis in the endosperm and leaf,respectively.Here,we identified OsGBP,a rice GBSS-binding protein that interacted with GBSSI and GBSSII in vitro and in vivo.The total starch and amylose contents in osgbp mutants were significantly lower than those of wild type in leaves and grains,resulting in reduced grain weight and quality.The carbohydrate-binding module 48(CBM48)domain present in the C-terminus of OsGBP is crucial for OsGBP binding to starch.In the osgbp mutant,the extent of GBSSI and GBSSII binding to starch in the leaf and endospermwas significantly lower than wild type.Our data suggest that OsGBP plays an important role in leaf and endosperm starch biosynthesis by mediating the binding of GBSS proteins to developing starch granules.This elucidation of the function of OsGBP enhances our understanding of the molecular basis of starch biosyn-thesis in rice and contributes information that can be potentially used for the genetic improvement of yield and grain quality. | Wei Wang Xiangjin Wei Guiai Jiao Wenqiang Chen Yawen Wu Zhonghua Sheng Shikai Hu Lihong Xie Jiayu Wang Shaoqing Tang Peisong Hu | 2020 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,7: | 12 |

| 3 | Experimental and numerical investigation on opposing plasma synthetic jet for drag reduction显示文摘Experimental and numerical studies are carried out to validate the potential of opposing Plasma Synthetic Jet(PSJ)for drag reduction for a hemisphere.Firstly,flow field changes of opposing PSJ are analyzed by comparing the experimental schlieren images and simulation results in a supersonic free stream of Mach number 3.As PSJ is a kind of unsteady pulsed jet,the shock standoff distance increases initially and then decreases under the control of PSJ,which corresponds to the change of the strength of PSJ.Accordingly,the amount of drag reduction of the hemisphere increases initially and then decreases.It is found that there is a short period of“drag rise”during the formation of PSJ before the drag reduction,which is induced by the generation of normal shock waves and the area difference of the cavity wall of PSJ Actuator(PSJA).Secondly,the effects of five parameters,including exit diameter,discharge energy of PSJA,Mach number,static pressure of incoming flow and angle of attack,on drag reduction of opposing PSJ were studied in detail by using numerical method.It is found that the Maximum Pressure Ratio(MPR)has a significant impact on the average drag reduction for a configuration-determined PSJA.For the configuration selected in this study,the flow field of opposing PSJ shows typical Short Penetration Mode(SPM)in a control cycle of PSJ when the MPR is less than 0.89.However,the flow field shows typical Long Penetration Mode(LPM)at some time when the MPR is bigger than 0.89.Relatively better drag reduction is achieved in this case. | Wei XIE Zhenbing LUO Yan ZHOU Wenqiang PENG Qiang LIU Dengpan WANG | 2022 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2022,35,8: | 4 |
| 4 | Efficacy of endoscopic treatment on patients with severe dysplasia/carcinoma in situ of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma: A prospective cohort study显示文摘Objective: To explore the natural history of severe dysplasia/carcinoma in situ(SD/CIS) patients and to evaluate the efficacy of endoscopic treatment to SD/CIS patients.Methods: Between January 2005 and December 2009, a population-based prospective screening program on esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) was performed in Linzhou, China, with endoscopic screening plus iodine staining. All the eligible histologically confirmed SD/CIS patients were followed up through the door-todoor follow-up and local cancer registry. The endpoint was diagnosed as ESCC or the December 31 st, 2016.Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and Log-rank test were used to compare the survival rates among treated and untreated patients.Results: A total of 175 SD/CIS patients were enrolled and grouped by whether they received endoscopic treatment. Eleven-year cumulative incidence rates for untreated and treated SD/CIS patients were 10.7% [95%confidence interval(95% CI): 6.9-16.1] and 3.2%(95% CI: 1.4-7.0), respectively. The ESCC incidence free survival rate, and all-cause incidence and mortality free survival rates were all significantly higher in the treated patients vs. untreated patients(P=0.043, P=0.008 and P=0.015, respectively). The ESCC mortality free survival rate showed no significant differences between the two groups(P=0.847).Conclusions: The cumulative incidence rate of SD/CIS patients to ESCC was much lower than previously reported. | 5 | Approach and potential of replacing oil and natural gas with coal in China显示文摘China’s fossil energy is characterized by an abundance of coal and a relative lack of oil and natural gas.Developing a strategy in which coal can replace oil and natural gas is,therefore,a necessary and practical approach to easing the excessive external dependence on oil and natural gas.Based on the perspective of energy security,this paper proposes a technical framework for defining the substitution of oil and natural gas with coal in China.In this framework,three substitution classifications and 11 industrialized technical routes are reviewed.Then,three scenarios(namely,the cautious scenario,baseline scenario,and positive scenario)are developed to estimate the potential of this strategy for 2020 and 2030.The results indicate that oil and natural gas replaced by coal will reach 67 to 81 Mt and 8.7 to 14.3 Gm^3 in 2020 and reach 93 to 138 Mt and 32.3 to 47.3 Gm^3 in 2030,respectively.By implementing this strategy,China’s external dependence on oil,natural gas,and primary energy is expected to be curbed at approximately 70%,40%,and 20%by 2030,respectively.This paper also demonstrates how coal,as a substitute for oil and natural gas,can contribute to carbon and pollution reduction and economic cost savings.It suggests a new direction for the development of the global coal industry and provides a crucial reference for energy transformation in China and other countries with similar energy situations. | Junjie LI Yajun TIAN Xiaohui YAN Jingdong YANG Yonggang WANG Wenqiang XU Kechang XIE | 2020 | Frontiers in Energy2020,14,2: | 3 |
| 6 | Mapping the potential distribution suitability of 16 tree species under climate change in northeastern China using Maxent modelling显示文摘Knowledge on the potential suitability of tree species to the site is very important for forest management planning.Natural forest distribution provides a good reference for afforestation and forest restoration.In this study,we developed species distribution model(SDM)for 16 major tree species with 2,825 permanent sample plots with natural origin from Chinese National Forest Inventory data collected in Jilin Province using the Maxent model.Three types of environmental factors including bioclimate,soil and topography with a total of 33 variables were tested as the input.The values of area under the curve(AUC,one of the receiver operating characteristics of the Maxent model)in the training and test datasets were between 0.784 and 0.968,indicating that the prediction results were quite reliable.The environmental factors affecting the distribution of species were ranked in terms of their importance to the species distribution.Generally,the climatic factors had the greatest contribution,which included mean diurnal range,annual mean temperature,temperature annual range,and iosthermality.But the main environmental factors varied with tree species.Distribution suitability maps under current(1950-2000)and future climate scenarios(CCSM4-RCP 2.6 and RCP 6.0 during 2050)were produced for 16 major tree species in Jilin Province using the model developed.The predicted current and future ranges of habitat suitability of the 16 tree species are likely to be positively and negatively affected by future climate.Seven tree species were found to benefit from future climate including B etula costata,Fraxinus mandshurica,Juglans mandshurica,Phellodendron amurense,Populus ussuriensis,Quercus mongolica and Ulmus pumila;five tree species will experience decline in their suitable habitat including B.platyphylla,Tilia mongolica,Picea asperata,Pinus sylvestris,Pinus koraiensis;and four(Salix koreensis,Abies fabri,Pinus densiflora and Larix olgensis)showed the inconsistency under RCP 2.6 and RCP 6.0 scenarios.The maps of the habitat suitability can be used as a basis for afforestation and forest restoration in northeastern China.The SDMs could be a potential tool for forest management planning. | Dan Liu Xiangdong Lei Wenqiang Gao Hong Guo Yangsheng Xie Liyong Fu Yuancai Lei Yutang Li Zhuoli Zhang Shouzheng Tang | 2022 | Journal of Forestry Research2022,33,6: | 2 |

| 8 | A comprehensive profile of TCF1^(+)progenitor and TCF1−terminally exhausted PD-1^(+)CD8^(+)T cells in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma:implications for prognosis and immunotherapy显示文摘The heterogeneity of exhausted T cells(Tex)is a critical determinant of immune checkpoint blockade therapy efficacy.However,few studies have explored exhausted T cell subpopulations in human cancers.In the present study,we examined samples from two cohorts of 175 patients with head and neck squamous cell cancer(HNSCC)by multiplex immunohistochemistry(mIHC)to investigate two subsets of Tex,CD8+PD1+TCF1+progenitor exhausted T cells(TCF1+Texprog)and CD8+PD1+TCF1−terminally exhausted T cells(TCF1−Texterm).Moreover,fresh tumor samples from 34 patients with HNSCC were examined by flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry to further investigate their properties and cytotoxic capabilities and their correlation with regulatory T cells(Tregs)in the tumor immune microenvironment(TIME).mIHC and flow cytometry analysis showed that TCF1−Texterm represented a greater proportion of CD8+PD1+Tex than TCF1+Texprog in most patients.TCF1+Texprog produced abundant TNFα,while TCF1−Texterm expressed higher levels of CD103,TIM-3,CTLA-4,and TIGIT.TCF1−Texterm exhibited a polyfunctional TNFα+GZMB+IFNγ+phenotype;and were associated with better overall survival and recurrence-free survival.The results also indicated that larger proportions of TCF1−Texterm were accompanied by an increase in the proportion of Tregs.Therefore,it was concluded that TCF1−Texterm was the major CD8+PD1+Tex subset in the HNSCC TIME and that these cells favor patient survival.A high proportion of TCF1−Texterm was associated with greater Treg abundance. | Dikan Wang Juan Fang Shuqiong Wen Qunxing Li Jinming Wang Lisa Yang Wenxiao Dai Huanzi Lu Junyi Guo Zhongyan Shan Wenqiang Xie Xiangqi Liu Liling Wen Jie Shen Anxun Wang Qianming Chen Zhi Wang | 2022 | International Journal of Oral Science2022,14,1: | 0 |
| 9 | Preparation and electronic characteristics of anionic perylene bisimide films显示文摘Neutral perylene bisimides(PBI) are well-known n-type organic semiconductors, with number of challenging electronic properties in their neutral and reduced states. We report the characteristic electronic properties of PBI anionic films. We unexpectedly discovered that pristine PBI dianion film showed p-type character, while oxidized dianion film(dominant neutral state with few radical anions) showed normal n-type semiconductor character based on Seebeck effect measurements. Both kinds of films exhibit high electrical conductivity with a potential for thermoelectric applications. | 10 | Long-range ordering of composites for organic electronics:TIPS-pentacene single crystals with incorporated nano-fibers显示文摘Multi-component active materials are widely used for organic electronic devices, with every component contributing complementary and synergistic optoelectronic functions. Mixing these components generally leads to lowered crystallinity and weakened charge transport. Therefore, preparing the active materials without substantially disrupting the crystalline lattice is highly desired. Here, we show that crystallization of TIPS-pentacene from solutions in the presence of fluorescent nanofibers of a perylene bisimide derivative(PBI) leads to formation of composites with nanofiber guest incorporated in the crystal host. In spite of the binary composite structure, the TIPS-pentacene maintains the singlecrystalline nature. As a result, the incorporation of the PBI guest introduces additional fluorescence function but does not significantly reduce the charge transport property of the TIPS-pentacene host,exhibiting field-effect mobility as high as 3.34 cm^2 V^(-1) s^(-1) even though 26.4% of the channel area is taken over by the guest. | 13 | Armigeres subalbatus is a potential vector for Zika virus but not dengue virus显示文摘Background:Zika virus (ZIKV) and dengue virus (DENV) are closely related flaviviruses primarily transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes. Armigeres subalbatus is an emerging and widely distributed mosquito, and ZIKV has been detected and isolated from it. However, it is not clear whether Ar. subalbatus could be a vector for ZIKV and DENV or not. In this study, we investigated the infection and transmission of Ar. subalbatus to ZIKV and DENV.Methods:A line of Ar. subalbatus was isolated from Guangdong, China, and further identified by the mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase subunit 1 (COI) gene. The adults of Ar. subalbatus were fed with blood meal containing ZIKV or DENV-2. At 4, 7, 10, 14, and 21 days post-inoculation (dpi), the infections of ZIKV or DENV-2 in the midguts, ovaries and salivary glands were detected and quantified by RT-PCR and RT-qPCR. To assess the transmissibility, suckling mice were exposed to bites of ZIKV-infected mosquitoes, and ZIKV was detected in brain tissue by RT-qPCR and plaque assays. Furthermore, the larvae of Ar. subalbatus were reared in artificial urine containing ZIKV or DENV-2. The infection rates and viral titers of larvae and adults were analyzed by RT-PCR and RT-qPCR, and the viral distribution in larval tissues was observed by immunohistochemistry. Chi-square test and one-way ANOVA analysis were used for assessing the infection rate and viral titer in varied tissues and different time points, respectively.Results:Following oral inoculation, ZIKV but not DENV-2 could be detected in Ar. subalbatus midguts at 4 dpi, ovaries at 7 dpi and salivary glands at 10 dpi. The highest infection rate (IR) of ZIKV was 27.8% in midgut at 7 dpi, 9.7% in ovary and 5.6% in salivary gland at 21 dpi. Eight days after being bitten by ZIKV-positive mosquitoes, ZIKV was detected in three brain tissues out of four suckling mice exposed to bites. ZIKV could be detected in the larvae reared in artificial urine contained ZIKV at a high concentration of 105 pfu/ml and various tissues of adults with a low infection rate (0.70–1.35%). ZIKV could be observed in anal papillae and midgut of larvae at 4 dpi under laboratory conditions.Conclusions:ZIKV but not DENV-2 can infect Ar. subalbatus by blood meal and artificial urine, and the infected mosquitoes can transmit ZIKV to suckling mice by bite. | 16 | Roles of light transmission aggregometry and CYP2C19 genotype in predicting ischaemic complications during interventional therapy for intracranial aneurysms显示文摘Background and purpose Light transmission aggregometry(LTA)and CYP2C19 genotype analysis are commonly used to evaluate the antiplatelet effects of clopidogrel during the interventional treatment of intracranial aneurysms.The aim of this study was to determine which test can predict ischaemic events during these treatments.Methods Patient demographic information,imaging data,laboratory data and ischaemic complications were recorded.LTA and CYP2C19 genotype results were compared,and multiple linear regression was performed to examine factors related to platelet reactivity.Multivariate regression analysis was performed to determine whether LTA and CYP2C19 could predict ischaemic complications and to identify other clinical risk factors.Receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was conducted to calculate the cut-off value for predicting ischaemic complications.A subgroup analysis was also performed for different CYP2C19 genotype metabolisers,as well as for patients with flow diverters and traditional stents.Results A total of 379 patients were included,of which 22 developed ischaemic events.Maximum platelet aggregation induced by ADP(ADP-MPA)could predict ischaemic events(p<0.001;area under the curve,0.752(95%CI 0.663 to 0.842)),and its cut-off value was 41.5%.ADP-MPA(p=0.001)and hypertension duration>10 years(p=0.022)were independent risk factors for ischaemic events,while the CYP2C19 genotype was not associated with ischaemic events.In the subgroup analysis,ADP-MPA could predict ischaemic events in fast metabolisers(p=0.004)and intermediate metabolisers(p=0.003).The cut-off value for ischaemic events was lower in patients with flow diverters(ADP-MPA=36.4%)than in patients with traditional stents(ADP-MPA=42.9%).Conclusions ADP-MPA can predict ischaemic complications during endovascular treatment of intracranial aneurysms.Patients with flow diverters require stronger antiplatelet medication than patients with traditional stents. | Yangyang Zhou Wenqiang Li Chao Wang Ruhang Xie Yongnan Zhu Qichen Peng Limin Zhang Hongqi Zhang Yuxiang Gu Shiqing Mu Jian Liu Xinjian Yang | 2023 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2023,8,4: | 0 |
