The Association of Maternal Body Composition and Dietary Intake with the Risk of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus during the Second Trimester in a Cohort of Chinese Pregnant Women显示文摘Objective To investigate the association of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM). Methods A total 154 GDM subjects and 981 controls were enrolled in a prospective cohort study in 11 hospitals from May 20, 2012 to December 31, 2013. Bioelectrical impedance analysis and dietary surveys were used to determine body composition and to evaluate the intake of nutrients in subjects at 21-24 weeks' gestation(WG). Logistic regression analysis was applied to explore the relationships of maternal body composition and dietary intake with the risk of GDM morbidity. Results Age, pre-pregnant body weight(BW), and body mass index(BMI) were associated with increased risk of GDM. Fat mass(FM), fat mass percentage(FMP), extracellular water(ECW), BMI, BW, energy, protein, fat, and carbohydrates at 21-24 WG were associated with an increased risk of GDM. In contrast, fat free mass(FFM), muscular mass(MM), and intracellular water(ICW) were associated with a decreased risk of GDM. Conclusion Maternal body composition and dietary intake during the second trimester of pregnancy were associated with the risk of GDM morbidity.Xu Qing Gao Zhi Ying Li Li Ming Wang Lu Zhang Qian Teng Yue Zhao Xia Ge Sheng Jing Hong Jiang Yang Yong Tao Liu Xiao Jun Lyu Chun Jian Mao Lun Yu Xiao Ming Liu Ying Hua Kong Ai Jing Yang Xue Yan Liu Zhao Zhang Yong Wang Jin Zhang Xin Sheng Xue Chang Yong Lu Yan Ping 2016Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2016,29,1:29
C-reactive Protein Level,Apolipoprotein B-to-apolipoprotein A-1 Ratio, and Risks of Ischemic Stroke and Coronary Heart Disease among Inner Mongolians in China显示文摘Objective We aimed to investigate the cumulative effect of high CRP level and apolipoprotein B-to-apolipoprotein A-1(ApoB/ApoA-1) ratio on the incidence of ischemic stroke(IS) or coronary heart disease(CHD) in a Mongolian population in China. Methods From June 2003 to July 2012,2589 Mongolian participants were followed up for IS and CHD events based on baseline investigation. All the participants were divided into four subgroups according to C-reactive protein(CRP) level and ApoB/ApoA-1 ratio.Cox proportional hazard models were used to estimate the hazard ratios(HRs) and 95% confidence intervals(CIs) for the IS and CHD events in all the subgroups. Results The HRs(95% CI) for IS and CHD were 1.33(0.84-2.12),1.14(0.69-1.88),and 1.91(1.17-3.11) in the ‘low CRP level with high ApoB/ApoA-1',‘high CRP level with low ApoB/ApoA-1',and ‘high CRP level with high ApoB/ApoA-1' subgroups, respectively,in comparison with the ‘low CRP level with low ApoB/ApoA-1' subgroup. The risks of IS and CHD events was highest in the ‘high CRP level with high ApoB/ApoA-1' subgroup, with statistical significance. Conclusion High CRP level with high ApoB/ApoA-1 ratio was associated with the highest risks of IS and CHD in the Mongolian population. This study suggests that the combination of high CRP and ApoB/ApoA-1 ratio may improve the assessment of future risk of developing IS and CHD in the general population.TIAN Yun Fan ZHOU Yi Peng ZHONG Chong Ke BUREN Batu XU Tian LI Hong Mei ZHANG Ming Zhi WANG Ai Li ZHANG Yong Hong 2016Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2016,29,7:12

Handgrip Strength as a Predictor of Nutritional Status in Chinese Elderly Inpatients at Hospital Admission显示文摘Objective To assess nutritional status and define gender-and age-specific handgrip strength(HGS) cut-point values for malnutrition or nutritional risk in elderly inpatients. Methods A cross-sectional study of 1,343 elderly inpatients was conducted in the Chinese PLA General Hospital. Nutrition Risk Screening(NRS 2002) and Subjective Global Assessment(SGA) were administered. Anthropometric measurements and blood biochemical indicators were obtained using standard techniques. The gender-and age-specific receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curves were constructed to evaluate the HGS for nutritional status by SGA and NRS 2002. Sensitivity, specificity, and areas under the curves(AUCs) were calculated. Results According to NRS 2002 and SGA, 63.81% of elderly inpatients were at nutritional risk and 28.22% were malnourished. Patients with higher HGS had an independently decreased risk of malnutrition and nutritional risk. The AUCs varied between 0.670 and 0.761. According to NRS 2002, the optimal HGS cut-points were 27.5 kg(65-74 years) and 21.0 kg(75-90 years) for men and 17.0 kg(65-74 years) and 14.6 kg(75-90 years) for women. According to SGA, the optimal HGS cut-points were 24.9 kg(65-74 years) and 20.8 kg(75-90 years) for men and 15.2 kg(65-74 years) and 13.5 kg(75-90 years) for women. Conclusion Elderly inpatients had increased incidence of malnutrition or nutritional risk. HGS cut-points can be used for assessing nutritional status in elderly inpatients at hospital admission in China.ZHANG Xin Sheng LIU Ying Hua ZHANG Yong XU Qing YU Xiao Ming YANG Xue Yan LIU Zhao LI Hui Zi LI Feng XUE Chang Yong 2017Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2017,30,11:9
Overexpression of the Watermelon Ethylene Response Factor ClERF069 in Transgenic Tomato Resulted in Delayed Fruit Ripening显示文摘Watermelon fruit undergoes distinct development stages with dramatic changes during fruit ripening. To date, the molecular mechanics of watermelon ripening remain unclear.Genetic and transcriptome evidences suggested that the ethylene response factor(ERF)gene ClERF069 may be an important candidate factor affecting watermelon fruit ripening. To dissect the roles of ClERF069 in fruit ripening, structure and phylogenetic analysis were performed using the amplified full-length sequence.Normal-ripening watermelon 97103,non-ripening watermelon PI296341-FR and the RIL population were used to analyze ClERF069 expression dynamics and the correlation with fruit ripening indexs. The results indicated that ClERF069 belongs to ERF family group VI and show high homology(83%identity)to melon ERF069-like protein.ClERF069 expression in watermelon flesh was negatively correlated with fruit lycopene content and sugar content during fruit ripening progress.Further transgenic evidences indicated that overexpression of 35S:ClERF069 in tomato noticeably delayed the ripening process up to 5.2 days.Lycopene,β-carotenoid accumulation patterns were altered and ethylene production patterns in transgenic fruits was significantly delayed during fruit ripening.Taken together, watermelon ethylene response factor ClERF069 was concluded to be a negative regulator of fruit ripening.Ming Zhou Shaogui Guo Shouwei Tian Jie Zhang Yi Ren Guoyi Gong Changbao Li Haiying Zhang Yong Xu 2020Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,4:9

Medium-Chain Triglyceride Activated Brown Adipose Tissue and Induced Reduction of Fat Mass in C57BL/6J Mice Fed High-fat Diet显示文摘Objective To investigate activation of brown adipose tissue(BAT) stimulated by medium-chain triglyceride(MCT). Methods 30 Male C57BL/6J obese mice induced by fed high fat diet(HFD) were divided into 2 groups, and fed another HFD with 2% MCT or long-chain triglyceride(LCT) respectively for 12 weeks. Body weight, blood biochemical variables, interscapular brown fat tissue(IBAT) mass, expressions of m RNA and protein of beta 3-adrenergic receptors(β3-AR), uncoupling protein-1(UCP1), hormone sensitive lipase(HSL), protein kinase A(PKA), and adipose triglyceride lipase(ATGL) in IBAT were measured. Results Significant decrease in body weight and body fat mass was observed in MCT group as compared with LCT group(P<0.05) after 12 weeks. Greater increases in IBAT mass was observed in MCT group than in LCT group(P<0.05). Blood TG, TC, LDL-C in MCT group were decreased significantly, meanwhile blood HDL-C, ratio of HDL-C/LDL-C and norepinephrine were increased markedly. Expressions of m RNA and protein of β3-AR, UCP1, PKA, HSL, ATGL in BAT were greater in MCT group than in LCT group(P<0.05). Conclusion Our results suggest that MCT stimulated the activation of BAT, possible via norepinephrine pathway, which might partially contribute to reduction of the body fat mass in obese mice fed high fat diet.ZHANG Yong XU Qing LIU Ying Hua ZHANG Xin Sheng WANG Jin YU Xiao Ming ZHANG Rong Xin XUE Chao YANG Xue Yan XUE Chang Yong 2015Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2015,28,2:8
Prospective prediction and exploration situation of marine Mesozoic-Paleozoic oil and gas in the South Yellow Sea显示文摘The South Yellow Sea Basin is a large sedimentary basin superimposed by the Mesozoic-Paleozoic marine sedimentary basin and the Mesozoic-Cenozoic terrestrial sedimentary basin, where no oil and gas fields have been discovered after exploration for 58 years. After the failure of oil and gas exploration in terrestrial basins, the exploration target of the South Yellow Sea Basin turned to the marine Mesozoic- Paleozoic strata. After more than ten years' investigation and research, a lot of achievements have been obtained. The latest exploration obtained effective seismic reflection data of deep marine facies by the application of seismic exploration technology characterized by high coverage, abundant low-frequency components and strong energy source for the deep South Yellow Sea Basin. In addition, some wells drilled the Middle-Upper Paleozoic strata, with obvious oil and gas shows discovered in some horizons. The recent petroleum geological research on the South Yellow Sea Basin shows that the structure zoning of the marine residual basin has been redetermined, the basin structure has been defined, and 3 seismic reflection marker layers are traceable and correlatable in the residual thick Middle-Paleozoic strata below the continental Meso-Cenozoic strata in the South Yellow Sea Basin. Based on these, the seismic sequence of the marine sedimentary strata was established. According to the avaliable oil and gas exploration and research, the marine Mesozoic-Paleozoic oil and gas prospects of the South Yellow Sea were predicted as follows.(1) The South Yellow Sea Basin has the same sedimentary formation and evolution history during the sedimentary period of the Middle-Paleozoic marine basin with the Sichuan Basin.(2) There are 3 regional high-quality source rocks.(3) The carbonate and clastic reservoirs are developed in the Mesozoic- Paleozoic strata.(4) The three source-reservoir-cap assemblages are relatively intact.(5) The Laoshan Uplift is a prospect area for the Lower Paleozoic oil and gas, and the Wunansha Uplift is one for the marine Upper Paleozoic oil and gas.(6) The Gaoshi stable zone in the Laoshan Uplift is a favorable zone.(7) The marine Mesozoic-Paleozoic strata in the South Yellow Sea Basin has the geological conditions required to form large oil and gas fields, with remarkable oil and gas resources prospect. An urgent problem to be addressed now within the South Yellow Sea Basin is to drill parametric wells for the Lower Paleozoic strata as the target, to establish the complete stratigraphic sequence since the Paleozoic period, to obtain resource evaluation parameters, and to realize the strategic discovery and achieve breakthrough in oil and gas exploration understanding.Jian-wen Chen Ming Xu Bao-hua Lei Jie Liang Yin-guo Zhang Shu-yu Wu Jian Shi Yong Yuan Jian-qiang Wang Yu-xi Zhang Gang Li Wen-juan Wang 2019China Geology2019,2,1:8
Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear. Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks. Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease, while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes.MA Yan ZHU Dong Shan CHEN Ren Bo SHI Nan Nan LIU Si Hong FAN Yi Pin WU Gui Hui YANG Pu Ye BAI Jiang Feng CHEN Hong CHEN Li Ying FENG Qiao GUO Tuan Mao HOU Yong HU Gui Fen HU Xiao Mei HU Yun Hong HUANG Jin HUANG Qiu Hua HUANG Shao Zhen JI Liang JIN Hai Hao LEI Xiao LI Chun Yan LI Min Qing LI Qun Tang LI Xian Yong LIU Hong De LIU Jin Ping LIU Zhang MA Yu Ting MAO Ya MO Liu Fen NA Hui WANG Jing Wei SONG Fang Li SUN Sheng WANG Dong Ting WANG Ming Xuan WANG Xiao Yan WANG Yin Zhen WANG Yu Dong WU Wei WU Lan Ping XIAO Yan Hua XIE Hai Jun XU Hong Ming XU Shou Fang XUE Rui Xia YANG Chun YANG Kai Jun YUAN Sheng Li ZHANG Gong Qi ZHANG Jin Bo ZHANG Lin Song ZHAO Shu Sen ZHAO Wan Ying ZHENG Kai ZHOU Ying Chun ZHU Jun Teng ZHU Tian Qing ZHANG Hua Min WANG Yan Ping WANG Yong Yan 2020Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2020,33,12:8
Heat Stress Upregulates the Expression of TLR4 and Its Alternative Splicing Variant in Bama Miniature Pigs显示文摘Alternative splicing is a cellular mechanism in eukaryotes that results in considerable diversity of gene products. It plays an important role in several diseases and cellular signal regulation. Heat stress is a major factor that induces immunosuppression in pigs. Little is known about the correlation between alternative splicing and heat stress in pigs. Therefore, this study aimed to clone, sequence and quantify the alternative splicing variant of toll-like receptor 4(TLR4) in Bama miniature pigs(Sus scrofa domestica) following exposure to heat stress. The results showed that the second exon of TLR4 was spliced and 167 bp shorter in the alternative splicing variant, and the protein was putatively identified as a type of truncated membrane protein consisting of extramembrane, transmembrane and intramembrane regions lacking a signal peptide. Further, it was not a nonclassical secretory protein. Five potential reference genes were screened for their potential as reliable standards to quantify the expression of TLR4 alternative spliced variants by real-time quantitative reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(q RT-PCR). The stability of these reference genes was ranked using the ge Norm and Norm Finder programs, and ribosomal protein L4(RPL4) and TATA box-binding protein(TBP) were found to be the two genes showing the most stable expression in the in vitro cultured peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs) during heat shock. The m RNA level of the TLR4 gene(both classical and spliced) in stressed pigs increased significantly(P<0.05). Further, the expression levels of the alternative spliced variant of TLR4(TLR4-ASV) showed a 2-3 folds increase in heat-stressed PBMCs as compared to control pigs. The results of the present study suggested that heat shock might modulate the host immune response by regulating the expressions of TLR4 and its alternative splicing variant.JU Xiang-hong XU Han-jin YONG Yan-hong AN Li-long XU Ying-mei JIAO Pei-rong LIAO Ming 2014Journal of Integrative Agriculture2014,13,11:7
Alcohol Drinking, Dyslipidemia, and Diabetes: A Population-based Prospective Cohort Study among Inner Mongolians in China显示文摘Objective No previous studies have evaluated the association between dyslipidemia, alcohol drinking, and diabetes in an Inner Mongolian population. We aimed to evaluate the co-effects of drinking and dyslipidemia on diabetes incidence in this population. Methods The present study was based on 1880 participants from a population-based prospective cohort study among Inner Mongolians living in China.Participants were classified into four subgroups according to their drinking status and dyslipidemia.Multivariate logistic regression analysis and receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curves were used to evaluate the association between alcohol drinking, dyslipidemia, and diabetes. Results During the follow-up period,203 participants were found to have developed diabetes. The multivariable-adjusted odds ratios(95% confidence interval) for the incidence of non-dyslipidemia/drinkers,dyslipidemia/non-drinkers,and dyslipidemia/drinkers in diabetic patients were 1.40(0.82-2.37),1.73(1.17-2.55),and 2.31(1.38-3.87),respectively,when compared with non-dyslipidemia/non-drinkers.The area under the ROC curve for a model containing dyslipidemia and drinking status along with conventional factors(AUC=0.746) was significantly(P=0.003) larger than the one containing only conventional factors(AUC=0.711).Conclusion The present study showed that dyslipidemia was an independent risk factor for diabetes, and that drinkers with dyslipidemia had the highest risk of diabetes in the Mongolian population. These findings suggest that dyslipidemia and drinking status may be valuable in predicting diabetes incidence.LIANG Zhu QIU Qiao Yan WU Jia Hui ZHOU Jing Wen XU Tian ZHANG Ming Zhi ZHANG Yong Hong ZHANG Shao Yan 2016Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2016,29,8:7
Hydrocarbon Geological Conditions and Exploration Potential of Mesozoic–Paleozoic Marine Strata in the South Yellow Sea Basin显示文摘No substantial breakthroughs have been made in hydrocarbon exploration of the South Yellow Sea Basin. It is believed that the Mesozoic-Paleozoic marine sedimentary formation in the South Yellow Sea Basin is similar to that in the Sichuan Basin. Therefore, outcrop, drilling, and seismic data were determined and compared with the research results on petroleum geological conditions in the Yangtze land area, and the hydrocarbon geological conditions were analyzed comprehensively from multiple aspects, such as basin evolution and main source rocks, reservoir characteristics, preservation conditions, and structural traps. The results show that two main stages in the South Yellow Sea Basin(the stable evolution stage of the Mesozoic-Paleozoic marine basin and the Mesozoic-Cenozoic tectonic reformation and basin formation stage)were important for the development and evolution of four sets of main source rocks.Reservoirs dominated by carbonate rocks, three sets of capping beds with good sealing capability, relatively weak magmatic activity, and multiple types of structural traps jointly constituted relatively good hydrocarbon-reservoir-forming conditions. There were four sets of main source-reservoir-cap assemblages and three possible hydrocarbon reservoir types(primary residual-type hydrocarbon reservoir, shallow reformed-type hydrocarbon reservoir, and composite-type hydrocarbon reservoir)developed in the marine strata. It is concluded that the marine strata in the South Yellow Sea Basin have relatively good hydrocarbon potential. The Laoshan Uplift is characterized by stable structure, complete preserved source reservoir cap assemblage, and large structural traps, and thus it is the preferred prospect zone for marine Paleozoic hydrocarbon exploration in this area.YUAN Yong CHEN Jianwen LIANG Jie XU Ming LEI Baohua ZHANG Yuxi CHENG Qingsong WANG Jianqiang 2019Journal of Ocean University of China2019,18,6:7
Transarterial chemoembolization with PD-(L)1 inhibitors plus molecular targeted therapies for hepatocellular carcinoma(CHANCE001)显示文摘There is considerable potential for integrating transarterial chemoembolization(TACE),programmed death-(ligand)1(PD-[L]1)inhibitors,and molecular targeted treatments(MTT)in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).It is necessary to investigate the therapeutic efficacy and safety of TACE combined with PD-(L)1 inhibitors and MTT in real-world situations. In this nationwide, retrospective, cohort study,826 HCC patients receiving either TACE plus PD-(L)1 blockades and MTT(combination group,n=376)or TACE monotherapy(monotherapy group,n=450)were included from January 2018 to May 2021.The primary endpoint was progression-free survival(PFS)according to modified RECIST.The secondary outcomes included overall survival(OS),objective response rate(ORR),and safety. We performed propensity score matching approaches to reduce bias between two groups. After matching,228 pairs were included with a predominantly advanced disease population.Median PFS in combination group was 9.5 months(95%confidence interval[CI],8.4-11.0)versus 8.0 months(95%CI,6.6-9.5)(adjusted hazard ratio[HR],0.70,P=0.002).OS and ORR were also significantly higher in combination group(median OS,19.2[16.1-27.3]vs.15.7 months[13.0-20.2];adjusted HR,0.63,P=0.001;ORR,60.1%vs.32.0%;P<0.001).Grade 3/4 adverse events were observed at a rate of 15.8%and 7.5%in combination and monotherapy groups, respectively. Our results suggest that TACE plus PD-(L)1 blockades and MTT could significantly improve PFS,OS,and ORR versus TACE monotherapy for Chinese patients with predominantly advanced HCC in real-world practice, with an acceptable safety profile.Hai-Dong Zhu Hai-Liang Li Ming-Sheng Huang Wei-Zhu Yang Guo-Wen Yin Bin-Yan Zhong Jun-Hui Sun Zhi-Cheng Jin Jian-Jian Chen Nai-Jian Ge Wen-Bin Ding Wen-Hui Li Jin-Hua Huang Wei Mu Shan-Zhi Gu Jia-Ping Li Hui Zhao Shu-Wei Wen Yan-Ming Lei Yu-Sheng Song Chun-Wang Yuan Wei-Dong Wang Ming Huang Wei Zhao Jian-Bing Wu Song Wang Xu Zhu Jian-Jun Han Wei-Xin Ren Zai-Ming Lu Wen-Ge Xing Yong Fan Hai-Lan Lin Zi-Shu Zhang Guo-Hui Xu Wen-Hao Hu Qiang Tu Hong-Ying Su Chuan-Sheng Zheng Yong Chen Xu-Ya Zhao Zhu-Ting Fang Qi Wang Jin-Wei Zhao Ai-Bing Xu Jian Xu Qing-Hua Wu Huan-Zhang Niu Jian Wang Feng Dai Dui-Ping Feng Qing-Dong Li Rong-Shu Shi Jia-Rui Li Guang Yang Hai-Bin Shi Jian-Song Ji Yu-E Liu Zheng Cai Po Yang Yang Zhao Xiao-Li Zhu Li-Gong Lu Gao-Jun Teng 2023Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,3:7

Since 1990s, two lineages of H9N2 virus, A/Duck/HK/Y280/97 (Y280-like)and A/Quail/HK/G1/97 (G1) have established in domestic poultry in China and are now widespread in theJianan Xu Shuang Li Yong Yang Bing Liu Huiping Yang Tiansu Li Lin Zhang Wei Li Xiaohu Luo Liquan Zhang Ming Pan 2018Science China(Life Sciences)2018,61,5:7
The preoperative serum cystatin-C as an independent prognostic factor for survival in upper tract urothelial carcinoma显示文摘Cystatin-C(Cys-C)has been reported as a valuable prognostic biomarker in various malignancies. However, its effect on upper tract urothelial carci noma(UTUC)patie nts has not bee n investigated before. Thus,to explore the impact of Cys-C on survival outcomes in patients undergoing radical nephroureterectomy(RNU),a total of 538 patients with UTUC who underwent RNU between 2005 and 2014 in our center(West China Hospital,Chengdu,China)were included in this study.Kaplan-Meier method and Cox regressi on an a lyses were performed to assess the relationship betwee n Cys-C and survival outcomes using SPSS versi on 22.0.The cutoff value of Cys-C was set as 1.4 mg I1 using the receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves and Youden index. The mean age of patients included was 66.1±11.1 years, and the media n follow-up durati on was 38(interquartile ran ge:19-56)mon ths.Overall,162(30.1%)patients had elevated Cys-C,and they were much older and had worse renal function than those with Cys-C<1.4 mg I^-1(both P<0.001).Meanwhile,Kaplan-Meier analysis revealed that the group with elevated Cys-C had worse cancer-specific survival(CSS,P=0.001),disease recurrence-free survival(RFS,P=0.003),and overall survival(OS,P<0.001).Multivariable Cox analysis suggested that the elevated Cys-C was identified as an independent prognostic predictor of CSS(hazard ratio[HR]:1.997,95%confidential interval[CI]:1.331-2.996),RFS(HR:1.429,95%CI:1.009-2.023),and OS(HR:1.989,95%CI:1.366-2.896).In conclusion, our result revealed that the elevated preoperative serum Cys-C was significantly associated with worse outcomes in UTUC patients undergoing RNU.Ping Tan Ming Shi Jie Chen Hang Xu Nan Xie Huan Xu Yong Jiang Jian-Zhong Ai Liang-Ren Liu Lu Yang Qiang Wei 2019Asian Journal of Andrology2019,21,2:7
Validity of the Chinese Version of the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) in Lung Cancer Patients显示文摘The prevalence of malnutrition is high among oncology patients in China. Although the Patient- Generated Subjective Global Assessment (PG-SGA) is widely recognized as an important nutritional assessment tool, it has not been validated for Chinese cancer patients. The purpose of this study was to conduct an analysis of nutrition screening and assessment data to validate the Chinese version of the PG-SGA in Chinese patients with lung cancer. This was an observational, cross-sectional study of 2,000 consecutive adult patients with lung cancer treated at several tertiary hospitals in China. Anthropometric and patient descriptive data were collected. The PG-SGA generated a score for the nutritional risk and a global rating for the nutritional status. The internal consistency, external consistency, and construct validity were evaluated, and a known-groups comparison and principal component analyses were conducted to evaluate the reliability and validity of the PG-SGA. The known-groups comparison demonstrated the ability of the PG-SGA to differentiate lung cancer patients of different nutritional and body mass index (BMI) groups. A confirmatory factor analysis supported the original four-factor structure of the PG-SGA. In terms of the internal and external consistency, the PG-SGA demonstrated intra-class correlation coefficients (ICC) up to 0.987. Alternative form validity was also demonstrated between Box 4 of the PG-SGA and the Karnofsky Performance Status score, with excellent external consistency (r = 0.972, P < 0.001). The construct validity was supported, and selected questionnaire dimensions were evident in the principal component analysis. Significant Spearman correlations (P < 0.001) were demonstrated. The Chinese version of the PG-SGA demonstrated significant reliability and sufficient exploratory properties to support its validity. It seems to be a valid tool that can be used to access the nutritional status of Chinese lung cancer patients. The validity of the PG-SGA in Chinese cancer patients warrants further investigation in other cancer types.Zhen Ming Fu Hong Xia Xu Chun Hua Song Wei Li Zeng Qing Guo Yuan Lin Ying Ying Shi Wen Hu Yi Ba Su Yi Li Zeng Ning Li Kun Hua Wang Jing Wu Ying He Jia Jun Yang Cong Hua Xie Xin Xia Song Gong Yan Chen Wen Jun Ma Su Xia Luo Zi Hua Chen Ming Hua Cong Hu Ma Chun Ling Zhou Wei Wang Qi Luo Yong Mei Shi Yu Mei Qi Hai Ping Jiang Wen Xian Guan Jun Qiang Chen Jia Xin Chen Yu Fang Lan Zhou Yong Dong Feng Rong Shao Tan Tao Li Jun Wen Ou Qing Chuan Zhao Jian Xiong Wu Chang Wang Han Ping Shi The Investigation on Nutrition Status and Clinical Outcome of Common Cancers (INSCOC) Group 2016Journal of Nutritional Oncology2016,1,1:7
