| 2 | Chronic intermittent hypoxia induces cardiac inflammation and dysfunction in a rat obstructive sleep apnea model显示文摘Chronic intermittent hypoxia is considered to play an important role in cardiovascular pathogenesis during the development of obstructive sleep apnea(OSA).We used a well-described OSA rat model induced with simultaneous intermittent hypoxia.Male Sprague Dawley rats were individually placed into plexiglass chambers with air pressure and components were electronically controlled.The rats were exposed to intermittent hypoxia 8 hours daily for 5weeks.The changes of cardiac structure and function were examined by ultrasound.The cardiac pathology,apoptosis,and fibrosis were analyzed by H&E staining,TUNNEL assay,and picosirius staining,respectively.The expression of inflammation and fibrosis marker genes was analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR and Western blot.Chronic intermittent hypoxia/low pressure resulted in significant increase of left ventricular internal diameters(LVIDs),endsystolic volume(ESV),end-diastolic volume(EDV),and blood lactate level and marked reduction in ejection fraction and fractional shortening.Chronic intermittent hypoxia increased TUNNEL-positive myocytes,disrupted normal arrangement of cardiac fibers,and increased Sirius stained collagen fibers.The expression levels of hypoxia induced factor(HIF)-l α,NF-κB,IL-6,and matrix metallopeptidase 2(MMP-2) were significantly increased in the heart of rats exposed to chronic intermittent hypoxia.In conclusion,the left ventricular function was adversely affected by chronic intermittent hypoxia,which is associated with increased expression of HIF-lα and NF-κB signaling molecules and development of cardiac inflammation,apoptosis and fibrosis. | Qin Wei Yeping Bian Fuchao Yu Qiang Zhang Guanghao Zhang Yang Li Songsong Song Xiaomei Ren Jiayi Tong | 2016 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2016,30,6: | 15 |

| 4 | Genetic dissection of maize seedling root system architecture traits using an ultra-high density bin-map and a recombinant inbred line population显示文摘Maize(Zea mays) root system architecture(RSA)mediates the key functions of plant anchorage and acquisition of nutrients and water. In this study,a set of 204 recombinant inbred lines(RILs) was derived from the widely adapted Chinese hybrid ZD958(Zheng58 Chang7-2),genotyped by sequencing(GBS) and evaluated as seedlings for 24 RSA related traits divided into primary,seminal and total root classes. Signi ficant differences between the means of the parental phenotypes were detected for 18 traits,and extensive transgressive segregation in the RIL population was observed for all traits. Moderate to strong relationships among the traits were discovered. A total of 62 quantitative trait loci(QTL) were identi fied that individually explained from1.6% to 11.6%(total root dry weight/total seedling shoot dry weight) of the phenotypic variation. Eighteen,24 and 20 QTL were identi fied for primary,seminal and total root classes of traits,respectively. We found hotspots of 5,3,4 and 12 QTL in maize chromosome bins 2.06,3.02-03,9.02-04,and 9.05-06,respectively,implicating the presence of root gene clusters or pleiotropic effects. | 5 | Sorption of tylosin and sulfamethazine on solid humic acid显示文摘Tylosin(TYL) and sulfamethazine(SMT) are ionizable and polar antimicrobial compounds,which have seeped into the environment in substantial amounts via fertilizing land with manure or sewage. Sorption of TYL and SMT onto humic acid(HA) may affect their environmental fate. In this study, the sorption of TYL and SMT on HA at different conditions(pH, ionic strength) was investigated. All sorption isotherms fitted well to the Henry and Freundlich models and they were highly nonlinear with values of n between 0.5 and 0.8, which suggested that the HA had high heterogeneity. The sorption of TYL and SMT on HA decreased with increasing p H(2.0–7.5), implying that the primary sorption mechanism could be due to cation exchange interactions between TYL^+/SMT^+ species and the functional groups of HA.Increasing ionic strength resulted in a considerable reduction in the K_d values of TYL and SMT,hinting that interactions between H bonds and π–π EDA might be an important factor in the sorption of TYL and SMT on HA. Results of Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) and ~13C-nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) analysis further demonstrated that carboxyl groups and O-alkyl structures in the HA could interact with TYL and SMT via ionic interactions and H bonds,respectively. | 6 | Vertical response of microbial community and degrading genes to petroleum hydrocarbon contamination in saline alkaline soil显示文摘A column microcosm was conducted by amending crude oil into Dagang Oilfield soil to simulate the bioremediation process. The dynamic change of microbial communities and metabolic genes in vertical depth soil from 0 to 80 cm were characterized to evaluate the petroleum degradation potential of indigenous microorganism. The influence of environmental variables on the microbial responds to petroleum contamination were analyzed. Degradation extent of 42.45% of n-alkanes(C8–C40) and 34.61% of 16ΣPAH were reached after 22 weeks. Relative abundance of alkB, nah, and phe gene showed about 10-fold increment in different depth of soil layers. Result of HTS profiles demonstrated that Pseudomonas, Marinobacter and Lactococcus were the major petroleum-degrading bacteria in0–30 and 30–60 cm depth of soils. Fusarium and Aspergillus were the dominant oil-degrading fungi in the 0–60 cm depth of soils. | 7 | Upgrading of Yi'an gas coal by low temperature pyrolysis under different atmospheres显示文摘The quality of Yi'an gas coal before and after low temperature upgrading under either a N 2 or H 2 atmosphere was examined by thermogravimetric and infrared analyses. The effect of upgrading on the prepared coke quality was analyzed. The results show that the carboxyl and phenolic hydroxyls in the coal molecular structure are removed after upgrading by low temperature pyrolysis under either N 2 or H 2 atmospheres. This improves coal caking properties to a certain extent. The upgrading effect under a H 2 atmosphere is remarkably better than the effect observed after upgrading under N 2 . Compared to coke obtained from raw coal, the compressiveand micro-strength of the cokes obtained from upgraded coal are greatly improved. The effect on coke reactivity with CO 2 is not significant. | 12 | Biochar-mediated regulation of greenhouse gas emission and toxicity reduction in bioremediation of organophosphorus pesticide-contaminated soils显示文摘Organophosphorus pesticides(OPPs) are a set of toxic persistent organic pollutants(POPs) present in the environment. Recently, biochar-mediated bioremediation has exhibited many advantages over conventional methods for the remediation of pesticide-contaminated soil. In the present study, biochar and nitrogen fertilizer(NH_4NO_3)were employed to remediate OPP-contaminated soil and the greenhouse gas(GHG) emission during 90 days of incubation was investigated. After thermal desorption treatment, the content of organophosphorus pesticides reduced from 175.61 μg·kg^(-1) to 62.68 μg·kg^(-1). The addition of NH_4NO_3 in the following bioremediation led to larger reduction(34.35%) of the pesticide concentration than that of biochar(31.90%) for the contaminated soils with thermal desorption treatment, while the simultaneous addition of biochar and NH_4NO_3 led to the largest reduction of pesticide concentration(11.07%) for the soil without thermal desorption treatment. The addition of biochar and NH_4NO_3 only slightly increased the emission rate of GHGs from the soil without thermal treatment,but remarkably increased the emission rate of GHGs from the soil after thermal treatment. In most cases, the addition of NH_4NO_3 is more effective than biochar to promote the degradation of pesticide, but also exhibited higher GHG emission.
