One-year clinical study of NeuroR egen scaffold implantation following scar resection in complete chronic spinal cord injury patients显示文摘The objective of this clinical study was to assess the safety and feasibility of the collagen scaffold, Neuro Regen scaffold, one year after scar tissue resection and implantation. Scar tissue is a physical and chemical barrier that prevents neural regeneration. However, identification of scar tissue is still a major challenge. In this study, the nerve electrophysiology method was used to distinguish scar tissue from normal neural tissue, and then different lengths of scars ranging from 0.5–4.5 cm were surgically resected in five complete chronic spinal cord injury(SCI) patients. The NeuroR egen scaffold along with autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells(BMMCs), which have been proven to promote neural regeneration and SCI recovery in animal models, were transplanted into the gap in the spinal cord following scar tissue resection. No obvious adverse effects related to scar resection or Neuro Regen scaffold transplantation were observed immediately after surgery or at the 12-month follow-up. In addition, patients showed partially autonomic nervous function improvement, and the recovery of somatosensory evoked potentials(SSEP) from the lower limbs was also detected. The results indicate that scar resection and Neuro Regen scaffold transplantation could be a promising clinical approach to treating SCI. | Zhifeng Xiao Fengwu Tang Jiaguang Tang Huilin Yang Yannan Zhao Bing Chen Sufang Han Nuo Wang Xing Li Shixiang Cheng Guang Han Changyu Zhao Xiaoxiong Yang Yumei Chen Qin Shi Shuxun Hou Sai Zhang Jianwu Dai | 2016 | Science China(Life Sciences)2016,59,7: | 18
NASICON-structured Na3.1Zr1.95Mg0.05Si2PO12 solid electrolyte for solid-state sodium batteries显示文摘Using stable inorganic solid electrolyte to replace organic liquid electrolyte could significantly reduce potential safety risks of rechargeable batteries. Na-superionic conductor(NASICON)-structured solid electrolyte is one of the most promising sodium solid electrolytes and can be employed in solid-state sodium batteries. In this work, a NASICONstructured solid electrolyte Na_(3.1)Zr_(1.95)Mg_(0.05)Si_2PO_(12) was synthesized through a facile solid-state reaction, yielding high sodium-ionic conductivity of 1.33×10^(-3) S·cm^(-1) at room temperature. The results indicate that Mg^(2+)is a suitable and economical substitution ion to replace Zr^(4+), and this synthesis route can be scaled up for powder preparation with low cost. In addition to electrolyte material preparation, solid-state batteries with Na_(3.1)Zr_(1.95)Mg_(0.05)Si_2PO_(12) as electrolyte were assembled. A specific capacity of 57.9 mAh·g^(-1) is maintained after 100 cycles under a current density of 0.5 C rate at room temperature. The favorable cycling performance of the solid-state battery suggests that Na_(3.1)Zr_(1.95)Mg_(0.05)Si_2PO_(12) is an ideal electrolyte candidate for solid-state sodium batteries. | Jing Yang HongLi Wan ZhiHua Zhang GaoZhan Liu XiaoXiong Xu YongSheng Hu Xia-Yin Yao | 2018 | Rare Metals2018,37,6: | 10
Application of Analytic Redundancy-based Fault Diagnosis of Sensors to Onboard Maintenance System显示文摘Analytic redundancy-based fault diagnosis technique (ARFDT) is applied to onboard maintenance system (OMS). The principle of the proposed ARFDT scheme is to design a redundancy configuration using ARFDT to enhance the functions of redundancy management and built in test equipment (BITE) monitor. Redundancy configuration for dual-redundancy and analytic redundancy is proposed, in which, the fault diagnosis includes detection and isolation. In order to keep the balance between rapid diagnosis and binary hypothesis, a filter together with an elapsed time limit is designed for sequential probability ratio test (SPRT) in the process of isolation. Diagnosis results would be submitted to central maintenance computer (CMC) together with BITE information. Moreover, by adopting reconstruction, the designed method not only provides analytic redundancy to help redundancy management, but also compensates the output when both of the sensors of the same type are faulty. Our scheme is applied to an aircraft's sensors in a simulation experiment, and the results show that the proposed filter SPRT (FSPRT) saves at least 50% of isolation time than Wald SPRT (WSPRT). Also, effectiveness, practicability and rapidity of the proposed scheme can be successfully achieved in OMS. | CHI Chengzhi ZHANG Weiguo LIU Xiaoxiong | 2012 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2012,25,2: | 8
COMPARISON OF GRANULAR MATERIAL BEHAVIOUR UNDER DRAINED TRIAXIAL AND PLANE STRAIN CONDITIONS USING 3D DEM SIMULATIONS显示文摘Three dimensional (3D) DEM (discrete element method) simulations of drained triaxial compression and plane strain tests are presented for both dense and loose assemblies of polydisperse spheres using a periodic cell. In the work reported, drained tests were modelled by deforming the samples under constant mean stress conditions. The drained behaviour is shown to be qualitatively similar to published physical experimental results. The Bishop's formula for the estimation of the intermediate principal stress is evaluated. The existence of critical density is shown to be independent of initial packing densities and strain conditions. Different failure criteria have been compared based on the DEM simulation results, and the Lade criterion is found to be the most appropriate one. A new microscopic fabric parameter is introduced to give insight to structural anisotropy under general 3D fabric conditions. It is found that two parameters characterize the evolution of the stress and fabric respectively independent of strain conditions. | Guobin Gong Xiaoxiong Zha Jun Wei | 2012 | Acta Mechanica Solida Sinica2012,25,2: | 6
Experimental investigation of a counter-rotating compressor with boundary layer suction显示文摘This paper presents the aspirated modification of a dual-stage counter-rotating compressor which contains inlet guide vanes(IGVs), two counter-rotating rotors(R1, R2), and outlet guide vanes(OGVs).Uniform circular holes are circumferentially distributed over the rotors' tips on the shroud casing which are designed to remove the low-energy fluid near the shroud casing.OGVs are hollow blades with two slots designed on the suction side which can better control the flow on the suction surface through boundary layer suction.Related works about the experiments have been carried out since June 2012 and the effect of flow suction on the performance of the compressor is investigated in detail.Characteristic lines at a 70% corrected rotating speed are tested and those with higher rotating speeds will be studied in the near future.Experimental results indicate that boundary layer suction can improve the compressor characteristics and the best suction methodology varies along the operating line.At the near stall condition, suction from the R2 tip region can obviously increase the efficiency and the total pressure ratio, as well as improve the flow capacity.Isentropic efficiency can be maximally increased by 4.24% with an increase of 1.94% in massflow under a suction flow of 160 m3/h.Suction at the R1 position with a suction rate below 0.35% in a high flow situation can make the performance of the compressor better than others.Around the peak efficiency point, boundary layer suction from the slots of OGVs is the best choice in improving the efficiency, but it causes a 0.1% loss in the total pressure ratio. | Shi Lei Liu Bo Na Zhenzhe Wu Xiaoxiong Lu Xiaofeng | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2015,28,4: | 6
Ecological risk assessment of Cd and other heavy metals in soil-rice system in the karst areas with high geochemical background of Guangxi,China显示文摘Karst areas are widely distributed in China, and the soil derived in these areas is enriched with trace elements and has the typical characteristics of high geochemical background. Therefore, soil ecological risk has gradually attracted extensive attention. In this study,1090 sets of rice grains and paired rhizosphere soils were collected as research objects from the outcropped karst areas of carbonate rocks in Guangxi, and the concentration characteristics and influencing factors of heavy metals, such as Cd and As,in rice grains and the corresponding soils were studied.According to the Chinese Soil Environmental Quality Standard(GB 15618-2018),the proportion of karstic soil samples in Guangxi with heavy metal(As,Cd,Cr,Cu,Hg,Ni,Pb and Zn)concentrations that exceed the standard risk screening values was generally greater than that of surface soils in China or non-karstic soils in Guangxi.Notably,Cd and As were the most prominently enriched heavy metals in soils.According to the Chinese Food Safety Standard(GB 2762-2017),Pb in rice grains from the studied area did not exceed the standard;the exceedance rates of Cr,Hg,and inorganic As were only about 1%;and the exceedance rate of Cd was 12.5%.Soil Cd concentration increased gradually whereas the concentration and exceedance rate of Cd in rice grains decreased gradually with the increase of soil pH.Specifically, the exceedance rate of Cd in rice grains was only 4%when soil pH>6.5.The results indicated that the risk screening values of Cd element in the Chinese Soil Environmental Quality Standard are not satisfactorily applicable to the ecological risk assessment of Cd in karstic soils. Therefore, the recommended threshold values for the safe utilization and risk control of Cd in karstic soils was proposed so as to provide a basis for soil environmental quality hierarchization, pollution risk control and land safety zoning of agricultural land in karst areas in China. | Qiong YANG Zhongfang YANG Qizuan ZHANG Xu LIU Xiaoxiong ZHUO Tiansheng WU Lei WANG Xueji WEI Junfeng JI | 2021 | Science China Earth Sciences2021,64,7: | 5
Research on allocation efficiency of the redistributed pseudo inverse algorithm显示文摘Allocation efficiency is an important performance index to measure the quality of the allocation algorithm. In order to compute the efficiency, the volume of the subset of attainable moments must be solved. The efficiency of the redistributed pseudo inverse (RPI) algorithm depends on the choice of the pseudo-inverse matrix. The subset of attainable moments of RPI is a complex non-convex polyhedron. By analyzing twodimensional and three-dimensional allocation problems with a 'micro-element' method, here we propose an approximate calculation algorithm to compute the volume of the non-convex polyhedron. In order to improve the allocation efficiency of RPI, genetic algorithm is used to find the best pseudo-inverse matrix. The simulation results show that the best pseudo-inverse matrix can be easily chosen by the proposed method and the high allocation efficiency is achieved. | SHI JingPing , ZHANG WeiGuo, LI GuangWen & LIU XiaoXiong School of Automation, Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an 710072, China | 2010 | Science China(Information Sciences)2010,53,2: | 4
Fermentation characteristics and probiotic activity of a purified fraction of polysaccharides from Fuzhuan brick tea显示文摘Polysaccharides from Fuzhuan brick tea(FBTPS),one of most important bioactive components in tea, showed various health-promoting functions. Our previous work demonstrated that the crude FBTPS(CFBTPS)could modulate the gut microbiota. However, which purified fraction in CFBTPS contributing to the modulation of gut microbiota remains unclear. Thus, the fermentation characteristics and probiotic activity of a purified fraction(FBTPS-2-1)of CFBTPS were evaluated in this work. The results showed that gut microbiota could utilize FBTPS-2-1 to produce short-chain fatty acids including acetic,propionic,n-butyric and n-valeric acids.FBTPS-2-1 could modulate the structure and metabolic pathways of gut microbiota.FBTPS-2-1 could increase the health-promoting gut microbiota such as Prevotellaceae and Bifidobacteriaceae, and decreased the harmful bacteria such as Enterobacteriaceae and Fusobacteriaceae. The results of metagenomics showed that Prevotella copri and Megamonas funiformis were the dominant bacteria after fermentation of FBTPS-2-1.Furthermore,FBTPS-2-1 could regulate the biosynthesis and metabolism pathways of gut microbiota. Thus, the enrichment of food with FBTPS-2-1 is expected as a potential strategy for promoting human health due to modulation of gut microbiota. | Guijie Chen Ziqi Zeng Minhao Xie Yujia Peng Wangting Zhou Weiqi Xu Yi Sun Xiaoxiong Zeng Zhonghua Liu | 2022 | Food Science and Human Wellness2022,11,3: | 4
Cyclin Cyc2p is required for micronuclear bouquet formation in Tetrahymena thermophila显示文摘Meiotic bouquet formation(known as crescent formation in Tetrahymena thermophila) is indispensable for homologous pairing and recombination, but the regulatory mechanism of bouquet formation remains largely unknown. As a conjugation specific cyclin gene, CYC2 knockout mutants failed to form an elongated crescent structure and aborted meiosis progress in T. thermophila. γ-H2 A.X staining revealed fewer micronuclear DNA double-strand breaks(DSBs) in cyc2Δ cells than in wild-type cells. Furthermore, cyc2Δ cells still failed to form a crescent structure even though DSBs were induced by exogenous agents, indicating that a lack of DSBs was not completely responsible for failure to enter the crescent stage. Tubulin staining showed that impaired perinuclear microtubule structure may contribute to the blockage in micronuclear elongation. At the same time, expression of microtubule-associated kinesin genes, KIN11 and KIN141, was significantly downregulated in cyc2Δ cells. Moreover, micronuclear specific accumulation of heterochromatin marker trimethylated H3 K23 abnormally increased in the cyc2Δ mutants. Together, these results show that cyclin Cyc2 p is required for micronuclear bouquet formation via controlling microtubule-directed nuclear elongation in Tetrahymena. | Jing Xu Xiaoxiong Li Weibo Song Wei Wang Shan Gao | 2019 | Science China(Life Sciences)2019,62,5: | 4

Entropy correction of charged black hole via fermions tunneling beyond semi-classical approximation显示文摘Motivated by the idea of tunneling beyond semi-classical approximation of Majhi et al., we discuss entropy correction of Dirac particles tunneling from the Reissner-Nordstrm black hole with a global monopole. To get the corrections correctly, we regard the proportionality constants of quantum correction terms to the semi-classical term of action as the inverse of the square of the Planck Length but not that of the Planck Mass. Our study shows that corrections to the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy, namely the logarithmic term and the inverse area term, may be reproduced as the quantum effect is considered. | ZENG XiaoXiong 1 , LI Ling 2 & HU XinYun 3 1 Journal of Sichuan University of Arts and Science, Dazhou 635000, China 2 Department of Maths and Finance-Economics, Sichuan University of Arts and Science, Dazhou 635000, China 3 Library of Sichuan University of Arts and Science, Dazhou 635000, China | 2010 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2010,53,1: | 3
Multi-population and diffusion UMDA for dynamic multimodal problems显示文摘In dynamic environments,it is important to track changing optimal solutions over time.Univariate marginal distribution algorithm(UMDA) which is a class algorithm of estimation of distribution algorithms attracts more and more attention in recent years. In this paper a new multi-population and diffusion UMDA(MDUMDA) is proposed for dynamic multimodal problems. The multi-population approach is used to locate multiple local optima which are useful to find the global optimal solution quickly to dynamic multimodal problems. The diffusion model is used to increase the diversity in a guided fashion, which makes the neighbor individuals of previous optimal solutions move gradually from the previous optimal solutions and enlarge the search space. This approach uses both the information of current population and the part history information of the optimal solutions. Finally experimental studies on the moving peaks benchmark are carried out to evaluate the proposed algorithm and compare the performance of MDUMDA and multi-population quantum swarm optimization(MQSO) from the literature. The experimental results show that the MDUMDA is effective for the function with moving optimum and can adapt to the dynamic environments rapidly. | Yan Wu Yuping Wang Xiaoxiong Liu Jimin Ye | 2010 | Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2010,21,5: | 3

A Knowledge-Enriched and Span-Based Network for Joint Entity and Relation Extraction显示文摘The joint extraction of entities and their relations from certain texts plays a significant role in most natural language processes. For entity and relation extraction in a specific domain,we propose a hybrid neural framework consisting of two parts:a span-based model and a graph-based model. The span-based model can tackle overlapping problems compared with BILOU methods, whereas the graph-based model treats relation prediction as graph classification. Our main contribution is to incorporate external lexical and syntactic knowledge of a specific domain, such as domain dictionaries and dependency structures from texts, into end-to-end neural models. We conducted extensive experiments on a Chinese military entity and relation extraction corpus. The results show that the proposed framework outperforms the baselines with better performance in terms of entity and relation prediction. The proposed method provides insight into problems with the joint extraction of entities and their relations. | Kun Ding Shanshan Liu Yuhao Zhang Hui Zhang Xiaoxiong Zhang Tongtong Wu Xiaolei Zhou | 2021 | Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,7: | 3
