| 1 | Anisotropic coding metamaterials and their powerful manipulation of differently polarized terahertz waves显示文摘Metamaterials based on effective media can be used to produce a number of unusual physical properties(for example,negative refraction and invisibility cloaking)because they can be tailored with effective medium parameters that do not occur in nature.Recently,the use of coding metamaterials has been suggested for the control of electromagnetic waves through the design of coding sequences using digital elements‘0’and‘1,'which possess opposite phase responses.Here we propose the concept of an anisotropic coding metamaterial in which the coding behaviors in different directions are dependent on the polarization status of the electromagnetic waves.We experimentally demonstrate an ultrathin and flexible polarization-controlled anisotropic coding metasurface that functions in the terahertz regime using specially designed coding elements.By encoding the elements with elaborately designed coding sequences(both 1-bit and 2-bit sequences),the x-and y-polarized waves can be anomalously reflected or independently diffused in three dimensions.The simulated far-field scattering patterns and near-field distributions are presented to illustrate the dual-functional performance of the encoded metasurface,and the results are consistent with the measured results.We further demonstrate the ability of the anisotropic coding metasurfaces to generate a beam splitter and realize simultaneous anomalous reflections and polarization conversions,thus providing powerful control of differently polarized electromagnetic waves.The proposed method enables versatile beam behaviors under orthogonal polarizations using a single metasurface and has the potential for use in the development of interesting terahertz devices. | Shuo Liu Tie Jun Cui Quan Xu Di Bao Liangliang Du Xiang Wan Wen Xuan Tang Chunmei Ouyang Xiao Yang Zhou Hao Yuan Hui Feng Ma Wei Xiang Jiang Jiaguang Han Weili Zhang Qiang Cheng | 2016 | Light(Science & Applications)2016,5,1: | 36 |

| 3 | Synergistic effect between Sn and K promoters on supported platinum catalyst for isobutane dehydrogenation显示文摘Catalytic dehydrogenation of isobutane has recently received considerable attention because of the increasing demand for isobutene.In this study,the synergistic effect between Sn and K on PtSnK/γ-Al2O3 catalysts has been investigated by changing the content of Sn.It was found that with the presence of potassium,suitable addition of Sn could not only increase the metal dispersion,but also reduce the catalyst acidity.In these cases,the synergistic effect could also strengthen the interactions between the metal and support,which resulted in an increase in both catalytic activity and stability.In our experiments,Pt-0.6SnK/Al catalyst exhibited the lowest deactivation rate (12.4%) and showed a selectivity to isobutene higher than 94% at the isobutane conversion of about 45.3% after running the reaction for 6 h.However,with the excessive loading of Sn,surface property of active sites and the interactions between metal and support were changed.As a result,the initial optimal ratio between the metallic function and acid function would be destroyed,which was disadvantageous to the reaction. | Yiwei Zhang Yuming Zhou Lihui Wan Mengwei Xue Yongzheng Duan Xuan Liu | 2011 | Journal of Natural Gas Chemistry2011,20,6: | 12 |
| 4 | Gastrodin protects H9c2 cardiomyocytes against oxidative injury by ameliorating imbalanced mitochondrial dynamics and mitochondrial dysfunction显示文摘Gastrodin(GAS)is the main bioactive component of Tianma,a traditional Chinese medicine widely used to treat neurological disorders as well as cardio-and cerebrovascular diseases.In the present study,the protective effects of GAS on H9c2 cells against ischemia–reperfusion(IR)-like injury were found to be related to decreasing of oxidative stress.Furthermore,GAS could protect H9c2 cells against oxidative injury induced by H2+O2+.Pretreatment of GAS at 20,50,and 100μM for 4 h significantly ameliorated the decrease in cell viability and increase in apoptosis of H9c2 cells treated with 400μM H2+O2+for 3 h.Furthermore,we showed that H2+O2+treatment induced fragmentation of mitochondria and significant reduction in networks,footprint,and tubular length of mitochondria;H2+O2+treatment strongly inhibited mitochondrial respiration;H2+O2+treatment induced a decrease in the expression of mitochondrial fusion factors Mfn2 and Opa1,and increase in the expression of mitochondrial fission factor Fis1.All these alterations in H2+O2+-treated H9c2 cells could be ameliorated by GAS pretreatment.Moreover,we revealed that GAS pretreatment enhanced the nuclear translocation of Nrf2 under H2+O2+treatment.Knockdown of Nrf2 expression abolished the protective effects of GAS on H2+O2+-treated H9c2 cells.Our results suggest that GAS may protect H9c2 cardiomycytes against oxidative injury via increasing the nuclear translocation of Nrf2,regulating mitochondrial dynamics,and maintaining the structure and functions of mitochondria. | Qiao-qiao Cheng Yu-wei Wan Wei-min Yang Meng-hua Tian Yu-chuan Wang Hai-yan He Wei-dong Zhang Xuan Liu | 2020 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2020,41,10: | 10 |
| 5 | Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. | 6 | Assessment of genetic diversity in the forest musk deer (Moschus berezovskii) using microsatellite and AFLP markers显示文摘Microsatellite genotyping and amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) techniques are often utilized in studies of conservation genetics of endangered animals. To select a more effective marker system for conserving the endangered forest musk deer, we used microsatellite and AFLP markers to estimate levels of genetic diversity of two populations, the pure mother Jinfengshan (JFS) group and the offspring Baisha (BS) group with introduction of new blood. It was expected that JFS would pos- sess significantly higher genetic variability than BS if it is assumed that no new deer were introduced into BS. The results revealed that the 15 microsatellite markers produced 141 alleles and the 22 AFLP primer combinations yielded 908 polymorphic bands, showing that AFLPs had higher resolving power than microsatellites. Nonetheless, compared with other deer, both marker systems indicated that the forest musk deer contains a relatively high level of genetic variation. The 15 microsatellite loci indicated a similar level of genetic diversity was present in the JFS and BS populations, seemingly suggesting that the new blood obviously elevated the level of genetic diversity in BS. However, 22 suites of AFLP markers yielded a significantly higher level of genetic variation in JFS than that in BS, in contrast to the diversity pattern of microsatellites. In view of the difference in resolving power of these two marker systems, we conclude that gene introgression was limited in the BS population, as revealed by the AFLP markers. | 7 | Effect of Ga Addition on Catalytic Performance of PtSnNa/ZSM-5 Catalyst for Propane Dehydrogenation显示文摘PtSnNaGa/ZSM-5 catalysts with different contents of Ga were prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), nitrogen adsorption, hydrogen chemisorption, ammonia temperature-programmed desorption (NH3-TPD), hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction (H2-TPR), and temperature-programmed oxidation (TPO) techniques. The performances of these catalysts for propane dehydrogenation were investigated. The test results indicated that the addition of Ga not only could improve the catalytic stability and propene selectivity, but also could effectively prevent the catalysts from coking. It was found that the PtSnNaGa(0.5 m%)/ZSM-5 catalyst exhibited the best performance in terms of propene selectivity and propane conversion. | 8 | Certificateless key-insulated signature without random oracles显示文摘Leakage of the private key has become a serious problem of menacing the cryptosystem security. To reduce the underlying danger induced by private key leakage, Dodis et al.(2003) proposed the first key-insulated signature scheme. To handle issues concerning the private key leakage in certificateless signature schemes, we devise the first certificateless key-insulated signature scheme. Our scheme applies the key-insulated mechanism to certificateless cryptography, one with neither certificate nor key escrow. We incorporate Waters (2005)’s signature scheme, Paterson and Schuldt (2006)’s identity-based signature scheme, and Liu et al.(2007)’s certificateless signature scheme to obtain a certificateless key-insulated signature scheme. Our scheme has two desirable properties. | 9 | CLASSICAL AND HOMOGENIZED EXPRESSIONS FOR BUCKLING SOLUTIONS OF FUNCTIONALLY GRADED MATERIAL LEVINSON BEAMS显示文摘The relationship between the critical buckling loads of functionally graded material(FGM) Levinson beams(LBs) and those of the corresponding homogeneous Euler-Bernoulli beams(HEBBs) is investigated. Properties of the beam are assumed to vary continuously in the depth direction. The governing equations of the FGM beam are derived based on the Levinson beam theory, in which a quadratic variation of the transverse shear strain through the depth is included.By eliminating the axial displacement as well as the rotational angle in the governing equations,an ordinary differential equation in terms of the deflection of the FGM LBs is derived, the form of which is the same as that of HEBBs except for the definition of the load parameter. By solving the eigenvalue problem of ordinary differential equations under different boundary conditions clamped(C), simply-supported(S), roller(R) and free(F) edges combined, a uniform analytical formulation of buckling loads of FGM LBs with S-S, C-C, C-F, C-R and S-R edges is presented for those of HEBBs with the same boundary conditions. For the C-S beam the above-mentioned equation does not hold. Instead, a transcendental equation is derived to find the critical buckling load for the FGM LB which is similar to that for HEBB with the same ends. The significance of this work lies in that the solution of the critical buckling load of a FGM LB can be reduced to that of the HEBB and calculation of three constants whose values only depend upon the throughthe-depth gradient of the material properties and the geometry of the beam. | 13 | Wikstroelide M potently inhibits HIV replication by targeting reverse transcriptase and integrase nuclear translocation显示文摘AIM:To evaluate the anti-HIV activity and mechanism of action of wikstroelide M,a daphnane diterpene from Daphne acutiloba Rehder(Thymelaeaceae).METHOD:The anti-HIV activities of wikstroelide M against different HIV strains were evaluated by cytopathic effect assay and p24 quantification assay with ELISA.The inhibitory effect of wikstroelide M on HIV reverse transcription was analyzed by real-time PCR and ELISA.The effect of wikstroelide M on HIV-1 integrase nuclear translocation was observed with a cell-based imaging assay.The effect of wikstroelide M on LEDGF/p75-IN interaction was assayed by molecular docking.RESULTS:Wikstroelide M potently inhibited different HIV-1 strains,including HIV-1IIIB,HIV-1A17,and HIV-19495,induced a cytopathic effect,with EC50 values ranging from 3.81 to 15.65 ng·mL-1.Wikstroelide M also had high inhibitory activities against HIV-2ROD and HIV-2CBL-20-induced cytopathic effects with EC50 values of 18.88 and 31.90 ng·mL-1.The inhibitory activities of wikstroelide M on the three HIV-1 strains were further confirmed by p24 quantification assay,with EC50 values ranging from 15.16 to 35.57 ng·mL-1.Wikstroelide M also potently inhibited HIV-1IIIB induced cytolysis in MT-4 cells,with an EC50 value of 9.60 ng·mL-1.The mechanistic assay showed that wikstroelide M targeted HIV-1 reverse transcriptase and nuclear translocation of integrase through disrupting the interaction between integrase and LEDGF/p75.CONCLUSION:Wikstroelide M may be a potent HIV-1 and HIV-2 inhibitor,the mechanisms of action may include inhibition of reverse trascriptase activity and inhibition of integrase nuclear translocation through disrupting the interaction between integrase and LEDGF/p75. | ZHANG Xuan HUANG Sheng-Zhuo GU Wan-Gang YANG Liu-Meng CHEN Huan ZHENG Chang-Bo ZHAO You-Xing WAN David Chi-Cheong ZHENG Yong-Tang | 2014 | Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines2014,12,3: | 3 |
| 14 | Molten Salt Electrolytic Fabrication of TiC-CDC and Its Applications for Supercapacitor显示文摘Titanium carbide derived carbon(TiC-CDC) was prepared by the molten salt electrolytic method in molten salt NaCl–KCl at the potential of 1.3 V using TiC pellets as the anode. X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and Raman spectrum were used to characterize the composition, morphology and microstructure of TiC-CDC. The electrochemical performance of TiC-CDC for supercapacitor was investigated in 0.5 mol L^(-1)Na_2SO_4 by cycle voltammograms, ac impedance spectrum and galvanostatic charge/discharge. TiC-CDC showed excellent electrochemical and capacitive performances and maintained a capacity value of 126.1 F g^(-1)after 1000 cycles with a capacity retention rate of 97% at the current density of 3 Ag^(-1). | 17 | Performance Evaluation of a Self-Developed Ozonesonde and Its Application in an Intensive Observational Campaign显示文摘To make a detailed test on the reliability and detection performance of the electrochemical concentration cell(ECC)type ozonesonde which had been developed and preliminarily evaluated by the authors,an intensive ozonesonde release experiment was held at two sites in Beijing and Changchun in June 2013.The results showed that the mean background current and its standard deviation were 0.03(0.04)μA and 0.02(0.03)μA in Beijing(Changchun).The average response time and its standard deviation were 27.8 s(30.4 s)and 4.0 s(3.7 s)in Beijing(Changchun).The ozone partial pressure profiles at both sites showed a central peak in the stratosphere and a side peak in the boundary layer.Large variation in ozone partial pressure was observed at the middle levels of the atmosphere(10–17 km).A more marked gradient of ozone change was observed in Beijing(3.4 mPa km–1)at the lower atmosphere level,as compared to that in Changchun(0.4 mPa km–1).The results presented in this paper indicate that this self-developed ozonesonde shows a high level of reliability and good performance.The ozonsonde is expected to play an important role in operational observations of ozone profiles. | ZHANG Jin-Qiang XUAN Yue-Jian XIA Xiang-Ao LIU Ming-Yuan YAN Xiao-Lu PANG Li BAI Zhi-Xuan WAN Xiao-Wei | 2014 | Atmospheric and Oceanic Science Letters2014,7,3: | 2 |

| 20 | Sulfur-modified nickel selenide as an efficient electrocatalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction显示文摘The sluggish four-electron transfer of the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)limits the performance of water electrolyzers.Hence,OER electrocatalysts based on earth-abundant elements are urgently needed.Heteroatom doping has been an efficient approach to boost the intrinsic OER activity of the active sites by modifying the electronic structure.Here,a simple anion substitution strategy is reported that increases the OER activity of nickel selenides via a one-step hydrothermal treatment of a metal–organic framework precursor.The resulting S-substituted Ni_(3)Se_(4) nanoparticles display distortion of their crystal lattice.As expected,the sulfur substitution modifies the electronic structure of Ni_(3)Se_(4) and leads to outstanding electrocatalytic activity.All the S-substituted Ni_(3)Se_(4) catalysts exhibit higher OER activities than the original Ni_(3)Se_(4).The optimized catalyst achieves a current density of 10 mA cm^(−2) at an overpotential of 275 mV with a Tafel slope of 64 mV dec^(−1) in 1.0 M KOH.In addition to its electrochemical activity,the S-Ni_(3)Se_(4)-2 catalyst also exhibits good stability with only a 7.5%increase in overpotential at 50 mA cm^(−2) after 100 hours.This work demonstrates one strategy to modify the electronic structure of transition metal compounds by anion regulation. | Kai Wan Jiangshui Luo Xuan Zhang Palaniappan Subramanian Jan Fransaer | 2021 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,11: | 2 |
