| 2 | Prognostic factors of refractory NSCLC patients receiving anlotinib hydrochloride as the third-or further-line treatment显示文摘Objective:Anlotinib hydrochloride is a multitarget tyrosine kinase inhibitor that targets vascular endothelial growth factor receptor,fibroblast growth factor receptor,platelet-derived growth factor receptor,c-Kit,and c-MET;therefore,it exhibits both antitumor and anti-angiogenetic activities.A phase III trial has shown that anlotinib improved progression-free survival(PFS)and overall survival(OS)in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC),who presented with progressive disease or intolerance after standard chemotherapy.This study aimed to analyze the characteristics of patients receiving anlotinib treatment to determine the dominant populations who are fit for the treatment.Methods:Data were collected from March 2015 to January 2017 from a randomized,double-blind,placebo-controlled,multicenter,phase III trial of anlotinib(ALTER0303).A total of 437 patients were enrolled and randomly allocated(2:1)to the anlotinib and placebo groups.Kaplan–Meier analysis and log-rank test were performed to compare PFS and OS.Cox proportional hazards model was adopted for multivariate prognostic analysis.Results:Multivariate analysis indicated that high post-therapeutic peripheral blood granulocyte/lymphocyte ratio and elevated alkaline phosphatase levels were independent risk factors for PFS.Meanwhile,elevated thyroid-stimulating hormone,blood glucose,and triglyceride levels;hypertension;and hand–foot syndrome were independent protective factors of PFS.High posttherapeutic peripheral blood granulocyte/lymphocyte ratio,an Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group(ECOG)score≥2,and the sum of the maximal target lesion length at baseline were independent risk factors of OS,and hypertriglyceridemia was an independent protective factor of OS.Conclusions:This study preliminarily explored the possible factors that affected PFS and OS after anlotinib treatment in patients with advanced refractory NSCLC,and the baseline characteristics of the therapeutically dominant populations were then identified. | Jing Wang Yizhuo Zhao Qiming Wang Li Zhang Jianhua Shi Zhehai Wang Ying Cheng Jianxing He Yuankai Shi Hao Yu Yang Zhao Weiqiang Chen Yi Luo Xiuwen Wang Kejun Nan Faguang Jin Jian Dong Baolan Li Zhujun Liu Baohui Han Kai Li | 2018 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2018,15,4: | 46 |
| 3 | Intelligent and connected vehicles: Current status and future perspectives显示文摘Intelligent connected vehicles(ICVs) are believed to change people's life in the near future by making the transportation safer,cleaner and more comfortable. Although many prototypes of ICVs have been developed to prove the concept of autonomous driving and the feasibility of improving traffic efficiency, there still exists a significant gap before achieving mass production of high-level ICVs. The objective of this study is to present an overview of both the state of the art and future perspectives of key technologies that are needed for future ICVs. It is a challenging task to review all related works and predict their future perspectives, especially for such a complex and interdisciplinary area of research. This article is organized to overview the ICV key technologies by answering three questions: what are the milestones in the history of ICVs; what are the electronic components needed for building an ICV platform; and what are the essential algorithms to enable intelligent driving? To answer the first question, the article has reviewed the history and the development milestones of ICVs. For the second question, the recent technology advances in electrical/electronic architecture, sensors, and actuators are presented. For the third question, the article focuses on the algorithms in decision making, as the perception and control algorithm are covered in the development of sensors and actuators. To achieve correct decision-making, there exist two different approaches: the principle-based approach and data-driven approach. The advantages and limitations of both approaches are explained and analyzed. Currently automotive engineers are concerned more with the vehicle platform technology, whereas the academic researchers prefer to focus on theoretical algorithms. | 5 | An in vivo study with an MRI tracer method reveals the biophysical properties of interstitial fluid in the rat brain显示文摘The nature of brain interstitial fluid (ISF) has long been a subject of controversy. Most of the previous studies on brain ISF were carried out in vitro. In the present study, a novel method was developed to characterize ISF in the living rat brain by magnetic resonance (MR) imaging using gadolinium-diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (Gd-DTPA) as a tracer. Sprague Dawley rats (n=8) were subjected to MR scanning before and after the introduction of Gd-DTPA into the caudate nucleus. A one-way drainage of brain ISF was demonstrated on the dynamic MR images. According to the traditional diffusion model, the diffusion and clearance rate constants of the tracer within brain extracellular space (ECS) were derived as (3.38±1.07)×10-4 mm 2 s-1 and (7.60±4.18)×10-5 s-1 . Both diffusion and bulk flow contributed to the drainage of ISF from the caudate nucleus, which demonstrated an ISF-cerebrospinal fluid confluence in the subarachnoid space at the lateral and ventral surface of the brain cortex at 3 h after the injection. | 6 | Psychometric hepatic encephalopathy score for diagnosis of minimal hepatic encephalopathy in China显示文摘AIM:To construct normal values for the tests of the psychometric hepatic encephalopathy score(PHES)and to evaluate its usefulness in the diagnosis of minimal hepatic encephalopathy(MHE)among Chinese individuals with cirrhosis.METHODS:The five tests of PHES,number connection test-A(NCT-A),number connection test-B,serial dotting test,line tracing test and digit symbol test(DST),were administered to all enrolled subjects in a quiet room with sufficient light.Cirrhotic subjects with overt HE were excluded by the West-Haven criteria and a detailed neurological examination.Based on the nomograms of healthy volunteers,the patients were classified as having MHE when their PHES was less than-4.RESULTS:In total,146 healthy volunteers completed all the PHES tests.Age and education years were confirmed to be predictors of all five tests.In total,53patients with liver cirrhosis completed the PHES.Of the patients with liver cirrhosis,24(45.3%),22(41.5%)and 7(13.2%)had Child-Pugh grades A,B and C,respectively.MHE was diagnosed in 26 patients(49.1%).Compared with compensated cirrhotic patients(Child A),decompensated cirrhotic patients(Child B and C)had a higher proportion of MHE(65.5%vs 29.2%).No differences in age and education years were found between the MHE and non-MHE groups.NCT-A and DST were able to diagnose MHE with a sensitivity of 76.9%and a specificity of 96.3%(AUC=0.866,K=0.735).CONCLUSION:The proportion of MHE is associated with liver function.NCT-A and DST are simple tools that can be used for the diagnosis of MHE in China. | Su-Wen Li Kai Wang Yong-Qiang Yu Hai-Bao Wang Yuan-Hai Li Jian-Ming Xu | 2013 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,46: | 21 |

| 8 | Targeting ferroptosis suppresses osteocyte glucolipotoxicity and alleviates diabetic osteoporosis显示文摘Diabetic osteoporosis(DOP) is the leading complication continuously threatening the bone health of patients with diabetes. A key pathogenic factor in DOP is loss of osteocyte viability. However, the mechanism of osteocyte death remains unclear. Here, we identified ferroptosis, which is iron-dependent programmed cell death, as a critical mechanism of osteocyte death in murine models of DOP. The diabetic microenvironment significantly enhanced osteocyte ferroptosis in vitro, as shown by the substantial lipid peroxidation, iron overload, and aberrant activation of the ferroptosis pathway. RNA sequencing showed that heme oxygenase-1(HO-1) expression was notably upregulated in ferroptotic osteocytes. Further findings revealed that HO-1 was essential for osteocyte ferroptosis in DOP and that its promoter activity was controlled by the interaction between the upstream NRF2 and c-JUN transcription factors. Targeting ferroptosis or HO-1 efficiently rescued osteocyte death in DOP by disrupting the vicious cycle between lipid peroxidation and HO-1 activation, eventually ameliorating trabecular deterioration. | 12 | NH_3-SCR denitration catalyst performance over vanadium–titanium with the addition of Ce and Sb显示文摘Selective catalytic reduction technology using NH3 as a reducing agent(NH3-SCR) is an effective control method to remove nitrogen oxides. TiO2-supported vanadium oxide catalysts with different levels of Ce and Sb modification were prepared by an impregnation method and were characterized by X-ray diffractometer(XRD), Brunauer–Emmett–Teller(BET), Transmission electron microscopy(TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR), UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy(UV–Vis DRS), Raman and Hydrogen temperature-programmed reduction(H2-TPR). The catalytic activities of V5 CexS by/TiO2 catalysts for denitration were investigated in a fixed bed flow microreactor. The results showed that cerium, vanadium and antimony oxide as the active components were well dispersed on TiO2, and the catalysts exhibited a large number of d–d electronic transitions, which were helpful to strengthen SCR reactivity. The V5 CexS by/TiO2 catalysts exhibited a good low temperature NH3-SCR catalytic activity. In the temperature range of 210 to 400℃, the V5 CexS by/TiO2 catalysts gave NO conversion rates above 90%. For the best V5Ce35Sb2/TiO2 catalyst, at a reaction temperature of 210℃, the NO conversion rate had already reached 90%. The catalysts had different catalytic activity with different Ce loadings. | 14 | Biological properties of neural progenitor cells isolated from the hippocampus of adult cynomolgus monkeys显示文摘Background The existence of neurogenesis in the hippocampus of adult nonhuman primates has been confirmed in recent years, however, the biological properties of adult neural stem cells or neural progenitor cells (NPCs) from this region remain to be extensively explored. The present work was to investigate on the expansion of NSCs/NPCs from the hippocampus of adult cynomolgus monkeys and the examination of their characteristics in vitro. Methods NPCs isolated from the hippocampus of adult cynomolgus monkeys were expanded in vitro in serum-free media containing growth factors, and were then allowed to differentiate by removing mitotic factors. The expansion capacity of NPCs and their differentiation potential were assayed by immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical analysis. Results During primary culture, NPCs underwent cell division, proliferation and aggregation to form neurospheres that were growing in suspension. Without mitotic stimulation, most neurospheres adhered to the culture dish and started to differentiate. Eventually, nearly 12% of the differentiated cells expressed neuron specific marker-βIII-tubulin (Tuj1) and 84% expressed astrocyte specific marker-fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP). In addition, the expression of a neural stem cell marker, nestin, was found both in NPCs and in the subgranular zone of adult monkey hippocampus, where NPCs were originally derived. Conclusions NPCs from the hippocampus of adult cynomolgus monkeys can be expanded to some extent in vitro and are capable of differentiating into neurons and astrocytes. | 15 | Effect of Dongchongxiacao(Cordyceps) therapy on contrast-induced nephropathy in patients with type 2 diabetes and renal insufficiency undergoing coronary angiography显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To study the protective effects of Dongchongxiacao(Cordyceps)(DCXC) on contrast-induced nephropathy(CIN) in patients with type 2 diabetes and renal insufficiency undergoing coronary angiography.METHODS: A total of 120 patients with type 2 diabetes whose estimated glomerular filtration rate(e GFR) was ≤ 60 m L/minee grou·1.73 m2,were divided randomly into thrps,basic treatment group(n = 41),standard DCXC therapy group(n = 39,2-g corbrin capsules,3 times/d,3 days before and after angiography),and intensive DCXC therapy group(n = 40,3-g corbrin capsules,3 times/d,3 days before and after angiography). Serum creatinine(Scr)and e GFR were assessed at the time of admission to hospital,and on days 1,2 and 3 after angiography. Urine neutrophil-gelatinase-associated-lipocalin(NGAL),kidney injury molecule-1(KIM-1) and interleukin-18(IL-18) were measured before angiography and at day 1 after angiography for all patients. The primary end point was the prevalence of CIN. The secondary end point was a 25% or greater reduction in e GFR.RESULTS: CIN occurred in 11 of 120 patients(9.17 %). The prevalence of CIN was lower in the DCXC treatment groups than in the basic treatment group(P < 0.05),with a more significant decrease in the prevalence of CIN in the intensive DCXC therapy group(P < 0.01). Compared with the basic treatment group,a lower proportion of patients in the DCXC treatment groups had an e GFR decrease of 25% or greater(P < 0.05); patients with an e GFR decrease of 25% or greater accounted for an even lower proportion in the intensive DCXC therapy group(P < 0.01). | 16 | Clinical profiles and outcomes of acute type A aortic dissection and intramural hematoma in the current era: lessons from the first registry of aortic dissection in China显示文摘Background::Acute type A aortic dissection(ATAAD)and acute type A intramural hematoma(ATAIMH)are life-threatening diseases with high mortality.To better understand their clinical features in the Chinese population,we analyzed the data from the first Registry of Aortic Dissection in China(Sino-RAD)to promote the understanding and management of the diseases.Methods::All patients with ATAAD and ATAIMH enrolled in Sino-RAD from January 1,2012 to December 31,2016 were involved.The data of patients’selection,history,symptoms,management,outcomes,and postoperation complications were analyzed in the study.The continuous variables were compared using the Student’s t test for normal distributions and the Mann-Whitney U test for non-normal distributions.Categorical variables were compared using the Chi-square test or Fisher exact test.Results::A total of 1582 patients with ATAAD and 130 patients with ATAIMH were included.The mean age of all patients was 48.4 years.Patients with ATAAD were significantly younger than patients with ATAIMH(48.9 years vs.55.6 years,P<0.001).For the total cohort,males were dominant,but the male ratio of patients with ATAAD was significantly higher compared to those with ATAIMH(P=0.01).The time range from the onset of symptom to hospitalization was 2.0 days.More patients of ATAIMH had hypertension than that of ATAAD(82.3%vs.67.6%,P<0.05).Chest and back pain were the most common clinical symptoms.Computerized tomography(CT)was the most common initial diagnostic imaging modality.84.7%received surgical treatment and in-hospital mortality was 5.3%.Patients with ATAAD mainly received surgical treatment(89.6%),while most patients with ATAIMH received medical treatment(39.2%)or endovascular repair(35.4%).Conclusions::Our study suggests that doctors should comprehensively use clinical examination and genetic background screening for patients with ATAAD and ATAIMH and further shorten the time range from symptoms onset to intervention,achieving early diagnosis and treatment,thereby reducing the mortality rate of patients with aortic dissection in China.We should standardize the procedures of aortic dissection treatment and improve people’s understanding.Meanwhile,the curing and transferring efficiency should also be improved. | Wei-Xun Duan Wei-Guang Wang Lin Xia Chao Xue Bo Yu Kai Ren Wei Yi Hong-Liang Liang Xiao-Chao Dong Jian Zuo Jin-Cheng Liu Shi-Qiang Yu Ding-Hua Yi | 2021 | Chinese Medical Journal2021,,8: | 15 |

| 19 | Spatial distribution and focal mechanism solutions of the Wenchuan earthquake series:Results and implications显示文摘We relocate the spatial distribution of the devastating 12 May 2008 Wenchuan earthquake and its aftershocks.The relocation database is obtained from 89 stations deployed by the China Earthquake Administration,including 54 525 seismograms from 1 376 local earthquakes over MS3.5 between 12 May 2008 and 3 August 2008.The cross-correlation technique used in this paper has greatly improved the relocation precision by giving much more accurate P-wave differential travel-time measurements than those obtained from routinely picked phase onsets.At the same time,we pick P-wave polarity observations of the Wenchuan earthquake series (hereafter referred to as WES) from 1 023 stations in China and 59 IRIS (Incorporated Research Institutions of Seismology) stations.Then,employing a newly developed program CHNYTX,we obtain 83 well-determined focal mechanism solutions (hereafter referred to as FMSs).Based on spatial distribution and FMSs of the WES,we draw following conclusions:(1) The region near the main shock exhibits a buried low-angle northwest-dipping seismic zone with the main shock at its upper end and two conjugated seismic zones dipping southeast with roughly equal dip-angle;(2) The compressional directions of all kinds of FMSs of the WES are subhorizontal,which reflects the dominant stress in this area is compressional;(3) The principal compressional direction of the regional stress around Wenchuan is roughly perpendicular to the strike of Beichuan-Yingxiu fault,while around Qingchuan it is roughly parallel to the strike of Qingchuan fault.In intermediate part of the Longmenshan area,the principal compressional direction of the stress should be in-between;(4) The possibly existed molten materials in the lower crust of Songpan-Garze terrain have small contribution to the local stress state in Longmenshan area.The listric geometries of the Longmenshan faults most probably resulted from subhorizontal compression along NW-SE direction in history. | Chen Cai Chunquan Yu Kai Tao Xingping Hu Yuan Tian Hao Zhang Xiaofeng Cui Jieyuan Ning | 2011 | Earthquake Science2011,24,1: | 13 |
