Hydrogel-Based Stimuli-Responsive Micromotors for Biomedicine显示文摘The rapid development of medical micromotors draws a beautiful blueprint for the noninvasive or minimally invasive diagnosis and therapy.By combining stimuli-sensitive hydrogel materials, micromotors are bestowed with new characteristics such as stimuli-responsive shape transformation/morphing.excellent biocompatibility and biodegradability, and drug loading ability.Actuated by chemical fuels or external fields(eg,magnetic field, ultrasound, light, and electric field),hydrogel-based stimuli-responsive(HBSR)micromotors can be utilized to load therapeutic agents into the hydrogel networks or directly grip the target cargos(eg.,drug-loaded partides, cells, and thrombus),transport them to sites of interest(e.g.,tumor area and diseased tissues),and unload the cargos or execute a specific task(e.g.,cell capture, targeted sampling, and removal of blood dots)in response to a stimulus(eg.,change of temperature,pH,ion strength, and chemicals)in the physiological environment. The high flexibility, adaptive capacity, and shape morphing property enable the H BSR micromotors to complete specific medical tasks in complex physiological scenarios, especially in confined, hard to-reach tissues, and vessels of the body.Herein, this review summarizes the current progress in hydrogel-based medical micromotors with stimuli responsiveness. The thermo-responsive,photothermal-responsive,magnetocaloric-responsive,pH-responsive,ionic strength-responsive,and chemoresponsive micromotors are discussed in detail. Finally, curent challenges and future perspectives for the development of HBSR micromotors in the biomedical field are discussed.Huaijuan Zhou Guozhao Dong Ge Gao Ran Du Xiaoying Tang Yining Ma Jinhua Li 2022Cyborg and Bionic Systems2022,,1:0
Heat Shock Factor A1s are required for phytochrome-interacting factor 4-mediated thermomorphogenesis in Arabidopsis显示文摘Thermomorphogenesis and the heat shock(HS)response are distinct thermal responses in plants that are regulated by PHYTOCHROME-INTERACTING FACTOR 4(PIF4)and HEAT SHOCK FACTOR A1s(HSFA1s),respectively.Little is known about whether these responses are interconnected and whether they are activated by similar mechanisms. An analysis of transcriptome dynamics in response to warm temperature(28℃)treatment revealed that 30 min of exposure activated the expression of a subset of HSFA1 target genes in Arabidopsis thaliana.Meanwhile,a loss-of-function HSFA1 quadruple mutant(hsfa1-cq)was insensitive to warm temperature-induced hypocotyl growth. In hsfa1-cq plants grown at 28℃,the protein and transcript levels of PIF4 were greatly reduced, and the circadian rhythm of many thermomorphogenesis-related genes(including PIF4)was disturbed.Additionally, the nuclear localization of HSFA1s and the binding of HSFA1d to the PIF4 promoter increased following warm temperature exposure, whereas PIF4 overexpression in hsfa1-cq partially rescued the altered warm temperature-induced hypocotyl growth of the mutant.Taken together, these results suggest that HSFA1s are required for PIF4 accumulation at a warm temperature, and they establish a central role for HSFA1s in regulating both thermomorphogenesis and HS responses in Arabidopsis.Bingjie Li Shimeng Jiang Liang Gao Wenhui Wang Haozheng Luo Yining Dong Zhihua Gao Shuzhi Zheng Xinye Liu Wenqiang Tang 2024Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2024,66,1:0
The Economic Effect of Mineral Resources Exploitation in Bijie Prefecture in Guizhou显示文摘The exploitation of mineral resources plays an important role in promoting national economic development. Mining is an essential component of China's industrial economy. Using grey correlation method to analyze the correlative effect of mineral resources exploitation to relevant industries, using national income method to calculate the pulling effect of mineral resources exploitation to economic growth and using graphs as well as tables to analyze the income distribution effect, the article obtains active economic effect of mineral resources development in Bijie, Guizhou. Moreover, from the view of resources-cored effect, the article analyzes negative effects such as single industrial structure brought by mineral resource development. Through analysis, we find that mineral resources exploitation to some extent brings active effects including gross domestic product growth, local financial revenue growth and relevant industries development; however, its negative effects should not be ignored. The negative effect can be lightened by diversifying industrial structure and prolonging industrial chain.Lu Jinping Zhang Xinhua Dong Dekun Wang Yining Gu Shuzhong 2009Chinese Journal of Population,Resources and Environment2009,7,2:0
A chromosome-level genome assembly for Erianthus fulvus provides insights into its biofuel potential and facilitates breeding for improvement of sugarcane显示文摘Erianthus produces substantial biomass, exhibits a good Brix value, and shows wide environmental adaptability, making it a potential biofuel plant. In contrast to closely related sorghum and sugarcane,Erianthus can grow in degraded soils, thus releasing pressure on agricultural lands used for biofuel production. However, the lack of genomic resources for Erianthus hinders its genetic improvement, thus limiting its potential for biofuel production. In the present study,we generated a chromosome-scale reference genome for Erianthus fulvus Nees. The genome size estimated by flow cytometry was 937 Mb,and the assembled genome size was 902 Mb,covering 96.26%of the estimated genome size.A total of 35065 proteincoding genes were predicted, and 67.89%of the genome was found to be repetitive.A recent wholegenome duplication occurred approximately 74.10 million years ago in the E.fulvus genome.Phylogenetic analysis showed that E.fulvus is evolutionarily closer to S.spontaneum and diverged after S.bicolor.Three of the 10 chromosomes of E.fulvus formed through rearrangements of ancestral chromosomes.Phylogenetic reconstruction of the Saccharum complex revealed a polyphyletic origin of the complex and a sister relationship of E.fulvus with Saccharum sp.,excluding S.arundinaceum.On the basis of the four amino acid residues that provide substrate specificity, the E.fulvus SWEET proteins were classified as monoand disaccharide sugar transporters.Ortho-QTL genes identified for 10 biofuel-related traits may aid in the rapid screening of E.fulvus populations to enhance breeding programs for improved biofuel production. The results of this study provide valuable insights for breeding programs aimed at improving biofuel production in E.fulvus and enhancing sugarcane introgression programs.Ling Kui Aasim Majeed Xianhong Wang Zijiang Yang Jian Chen Lilian He Yining Di Xuzhen Li Zhenfeng Qian Yinming Jiao Guoyun Wang Lufeng Liu Rong Xu Shujie Gu Qinghui Yang Shuying Chen Hongbo Lou Yu Meng Linyan Xie Fu Xu Qingqing Shen Amit Singh Karl Gruber Yunbing Pan Tingting Hao Yang Dong Fusheng Li 2023Plant Communications2023,4,4:0
Optimizing techno-functionality of germinated whole wheat flour steamed bread via glucose oxidase(Gox)and pentosanase(Pn)enzyme innovation显示文摘Germination,a powerful biofortification technique, holds immense potential in bolstering the micronutrient profile of essential staple grains, thereby paving the way for optimal nutritional enhancement. The primary goal of this study was to improve the technological functionality of germinated wheat flour by incorporating pentosanase(Pn)and glucose oxidase(Gox)enzymes, with particular emphasis on the evolutionary changes in its components. The inclusion of Gox did not produce any substantial impact on the volumetric characteristics of the steamed bread. The incorporation of Pn and Gox has been seen to enhance the overall excellence of steamed bread by optimizing loaf volume and textural characteristics while also improving the thermal stability of the dough. The existence of two endothermic peaks could be attributed to bound water or alterations in the granules within the starch crystallization region.Adding Pn and Gox reduced and increased the formation and stability time of the dough, respectively.A certain ratio was employed to assess alternations in the crystallinity of starch granules over a limited range. After steaming,a significant decrease in IR1047/1022 was observed, indicating that the elevated temperature partially disrupted the internal starch crystal structure, leading to a gelatinization reaction with water. The ratio of tensile resistance(R)and elongation(E)of dough increased significantly compared to the control. The results obtained from this study indicate that the simultaneous inclusion of enzymes(Pn+Gox)holds significant promise for expanding the technological functionality of germinated wheat flour dough and improving the quality attributes of steamed bread.Muhammad Bilal Yining Zhang Dandan Li Chong Xie Runqiang Yang Zhenxin Gu Dong Jiang Pei Wang 2023Grain & Oil Science and Technology2023,6,4:0
Can PAPE-Induced Increases in Jump Height Be Explained by Jumping Kinematics?显示文摘The aim of this study was to investigate whether kinematic data during a countermovement jump(CMJ)could explain the post-activation performance enhancement(PAPE)effects following acute resistance exercise.Twenty-four male participants with resistance training and jumping experience were recruited and randomly assigned to either the experimental group(PAPE-stimulus)(n=12)or the control group(n=12).In the experimental group, participants performed 5 reps of squats at 80%1RM to induce PAPE,while the control group received no inter-vention.Both groups performed three CMJ tests before(PRE)and at immediate(POST0),4(POST4),8(POST8),and 12(POST12)min after the intervention, with kinematic data recorded during the CMJ.Kinematic parameters analyzed in this study included jump height,hip-knee-ankleflexion angles at the lowest position of the counter-movement,eccentric and concentric time durations, and the temporal changes of hip-knee-ankleflexion angles during the entire jumping phase. The presence of PAPE was determined by the change in jump height. The results showed that in the experimental group, jump height significantly increased at POST4(p<0.001)and POST8(p<0.001)and significantly decreased at POST0(p=0.008),with no significant change at POST12.The control group showed no significant changes at any measured time point.Kinematic parameters showed that there was no significant difference in jointflexion angle of the lower body during the CMJ between pre-and post-intervention,regardless of PAPE or fatigue. However, eccentric time significantly decreased at 4 and 8 min(p=0.013 and p=0.001,respectively)after the intervention.Thesefindings suggest that PAPE-induced increases in jump height after acute resistance exercise can be attributed to the decrease in eccentric phase duration, but not jointflexion angle.Additionally, the fatigue-induced decrease in jump height cannot be reflected by jumping kinematics.Based on thesefindings, coaches may use complex training to utilize the PAPE effects to increase jump height while reducing the eccentric time during vertical jumps. This method can enhance an athlete’s eccentric ability to gen-erate force in a short amount of time which is crucial for performance enhancement.Xiaojie Jiang Xin Li Yining Xu Dong Sun Julien SBaker Yaodong Gu 2023Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics2023,20,2:0
Genetic and histological relationship between pheromone-secreting tissues of the musk gland and skin of juvenile Chinese forest musk deer(Moschus berezovskii Flerov,1929)显示文摘Background The musk glands of adult male Chinese forest musk deer(Moschus berezovskii Flerov,1929)(FMD),which are considered as special skin glands, secrete a mixture of sebum, lipids, and proteins into the musk pod.Together, these components form musk, which plays an important role in attracting females during the breeding season. However, the relationship between the musk glands and skin of Chinese FMD remains undiscovered. Here, the musk gland and skin of Chinese FMD were examined using histological analysis and RNA sequencing(RNA-seq),and the expression of key regulatory genes was evaluated to determine whether the musk gland is derived from the skin. Methods A comparative analysis of musk gland anatomy between juvenile and adult Chinese FMD was conducted. Then, based on the anatomical structure of the musk gland, skin tissues from the abdomen and back as well as musk gland tissues were obtained from three juvenile FMD.These tissues were used for RNA-seq,hematoxylin-eosin(HE)staining,immunohistochemistry(IHC),western blot(WB),and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)experiments.Results Anatomical analysis showed that only adult male FMD had a complete glandular organ and musk pod, while juvenile FMD did not have any well-developed musk pods.Transcriptomic data revealed that 88.24%of genes were co-expressed in the skin and musk gland tissues.Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)signaling pathway analysis found that the genes co-expressed in the abdomen skin, back skin, and musk gland were enriched in biological development, endocrine system, lipid metabolism, and other pathways.Gene Ontology(GO)enrichment analysis indicated that the genes expressed in these tissues were enriched in biological processes such as multicellular development and cell division. Moreover, the Metascape predictive analysis tool demonstrated that genes expressed in musk glands were skin tissue-specific.qRT-PCR and WB revealed that sex-determining region Y-box protein 9(Sox9),Caveolin-1(Cav-1),and androgen receptor(AR)were expressed in all three tissues, although the expression levels differed among the tissues.According to the IHC results,Sox9 and AR were expressed in the nuclei of sebaceous gland, hair follicle, and musk gland cells, whereas Cav-1 was expressed in the cell membrane. Conclusions The musk gland of Chinese FMD may be a derivative of skin tissue, and Sox9,Cav-1,and AR may play significant roles in musk gland development.Long LI Heran CAO Jinmeng YANG Tianqi JIN Yuxuan MA Yang WANG Zhenpeng LI Yining CHEN Huihui GAO Chao ZHU Tianhao YANG Yalong DENG Fangxia YANG Wuzi DONG 2023Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2023,24,9:0
