| 1 | New omega vortex identification method显示文摘A new vortex identification criterion called W-method is proposed based on the ideas that vorticity overtakes deformation in vortex.The comparison with other vortex identification methods like Q-criterion and λ_2-method is conducted and the advantages of the new method can be summarized as follows:(1) the method is able to capture vortex well and very easy to perform;(2) the physical meaning of W is clear while the interpretations of iso-surface values of Q and λ_2 chosen to visualize vortices are obscure;(3)being different from Q and λ_2 iso-surface visualization which requires wildly various thresholds to capture the vortex structure properly, W is pretty universal and does not need much adjustment in different cases and the iso-surfaces of W=0.52 can always capture the vortices properly in all the cases at different time steps, which we investigated;(4) both strong and weak vortices can be captured well simultaneously while improper Q and λ_2 threshold may lead to strong vortex capture while weak vortices are lost or weak vortices are captured but strong vortices are smeared;(5) W=0.52 is a quantity to approximately define the vortex boundary. Note that, to calculate W, the length and velocity must be used in the non-dimensional form. | 3 | New dammarane-type saponins from the leaves of Panax notoginseng显示文摘Two new triterpenoid saponins named notoginsenoside-Ng3(1) and notoginsenoside-Ng4(2) along with three known saponins (3-5), were isolated from a water extract of the leaves of Panax notoginseng. Their structures were elucidated by HRESIMS, NMR, X-ray techniques and acid hydrolysis. Moreover,compound 2 was characterized with the conjugated double bonds side-chain, which was rarely found in this plant. The absolute configuration of notoginsenoside Fa (3) with five sugars was confirmed by the single-crystal X-ray diffraction for the first time. | 15 | Sequential vigilance is unpredictable in reproductive Black-necked Cranes显示文摘Background:Vigilance refers to the behavior of animals scanning their surroundings with a main purpose of antipredation.Whether vigilance can serve the function of anti-predation depends on its unpredictability,meaning instantaneous randomness,sequential randomness,and independence,the three assumptions from Pulliam model(J Theor Biol 38:419,1973).Here we tested two of these three assumptions in reproductive Black-necked Cranes(Grus nigricollis) in Tibetan Plateau:instantaneous randomness and sequential randomness.Methods:Observations were carried out in July and September of 2014,July and August in 2017 in Selincuo National Nature Reserve,Tibet,with the help of focal sampling method.For instantaneous randomness,we used Kolmogorov–Smirnov test for its negative exponential distribution;for sequential randomness,we used Run test,correlation analysis,and generalized linear model to see if an inter-scan and its previous scan were correlated.Results:Not similar to some recent studies,we did not find a significant predictable vigilance in this crane.Most inter-scan intervals(86/100,86.0%) passed negative exponential distribution test,meaning vigilance sequences with instantaneous randomness;most inter-scan intervals(91/100,91.0%) passed sequential random test,showing vigilance sequences were random organized.Conclusion:Our results suggest that keeping a vigilance pattern with unpredictability is beneficial to the survival of the Black-necked Cranes,which are facing with both cruel natural environments and high predation risks. | Yuhang Li Le Yang Yunchao Luo Yiqian Wu Zhongqiu Li | 2019 | Avian Research2019,10,1: | 0 |

| 17 | Processing Nomex Nanofibers by Ionic Solution Blow‑Spinning for Efficient High‑Temperature Exhausts Treatment显示文摘Hard-to-dissolve polymers provide next-generation alternatives for high-performance filter materials owing to their intrin-sically high chemical stability,superior mechanical performance,and excellent high-temperature resistance.However,the mass production of hard-to-dissolve nanofibers still remains a critical challenge.A simple,scalable,and low-cost ionic solu-tion blow-spinning method has herein been provided for the large-scale preparation of hard-to-dissolve Nomex polymeric nanofibers with an average diameter of nearly 100 nm.After rapidly dissolving Nomex microfibers in the lithium chloride/dimethylacetamide(LiCl/DMAc)solution system,the conductive solution can be stably and conductivity-independently processed into nanofibers.The method optimizes electrospinning and avoids spinnability degradation and potential safety hazards caused by high electrical conductivity.Owing to nanofibrous structure and high dipole moment,Nomex nanofibrous filters show a stable high filtration efficiency of 99.92%for PM_(0.3) with a low areal density of 4.6 g m^(-2),as well as a low-pressure drop of 189.47 Pa.Moreover,the flame-retardant filter can work at 250°C and 280°C for a long and short time without shrinking or burning,respectively,exhibiting a high filtration efficiency of 99.50%for PM_(0.3-10.0).The outstanding properties and low cost enable the efficient capture of PM from various high-temperature exhausts,making Nomex nanofi-brous membrane an even more ideal industrial-grade air filter than polypropylene,polytetrafluoroethylene,polyimide,and ceramic nanofibrous filters. | Zekun Cheng Haiyang Wang Ziwei Li Chong Yang Baopu Zhang Yiqian Zhou Yuxuan Wang Chao Jia Lei Li Hui Wu | 2023 | Advanced Fiber Materials2023,5,2: | 0 |
| 18 | Breath-by-breath measurement of exhaled ammonia by acetonemodifier positive photoionization ion mobility spectrometry via online dilution and purging sampling显示文摘Exhaled ammonia(NH_(3))is an essential noninvasive biomarker for disease diagnosis.In this study,an acetone-modifier positive photoionization ion mobility spectrometry(AM-PIMS)method was developed for accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of exhaled NH_(3)with high selectivity and sensitivity.Acetone was introduced into the drift tube along with the drift gas as a modifier,and the characteristic NH_(3)product ion peak of(C_(3)H_(6)O)_(4)NH_(4)^(+)(K_(0)=1.45 cm^(2)/V·s)was obtained through the ion-molecule reaction with acetone reactant ions(C_(3)H_(6)O)_(2)H^(+)(K_(0)=1.87 cm^(2)/V·s),which significantly increased the peak-to-peak resolution and improved the accuracy of exhaled NH_(3)qualitative identification.Moreover,the interference of high humidity and the memory effect of NH_(3)molecules were significantly reduced via online dilution and purging sampling,thus realizing breath-by-breath measurement.As a result,a wide quantitative range of 5.87-140.92μmol/L with a response time of 40 ms was achieved,and the exhaled NH_(3)profile could be synchronized with the concentration curve of exhaled CO_(2).Finally,the analytical capacity of AM-PIMS was demonstrated by measuring the exhaled NH_(3)of healthy subjects,demonstrating its great potential for clinical disease diagnosis. | Lu Wang Dandan Jiang Lei Hua Chuang Chen Dongming Li Weiguo Wang Yiqian Xu Qimu Yang Haiyang Li Song Leng | 2023 | Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2023,13,4: | 0 |
