| 1 | Fractional partial differential equation denoising models for texture image显示文摘In this paper,a set of fractional partial differential equations based on fractional total variation and fractional steepest descent approach are proposed to address the problem of traditional drawbacks of PM and ROF multi-scale denoising for texture image.By extending Green,Gauss,Stokes and Euler-Lagrange formulas to fractional field,we can find that the integer formulas are just their special case of fractional ones.In order to improve the denoising capability,we proposed 4 fractional partial differential equation based multiscale denoising models,and then discussed their stabilities and convergence rate.Theoretic deduction and experimental evaluation demonstrate the stability and astringency of fractional steepest descent approach,and fractional nonlinearly multi-scale denoising capability and best value of parameters are discussed also.The experiments results prove that the ability for preserving high-frequency edge and complex texture information of the proposed denoising models are obviously superior to traditional integral based algorithms,especially for texture detail rich images. | PU YiFei SIARRY Patrick ZHOU JiLiu LIU YiGuang ZHANG Ni HUANG Guo LIU YiZhi | 2014 | Science China(Information Sciences)2014,57,7: | 13 |
| 2 | Significance of Axial Length Monitoring in Children with Congenital Cataract and Update of Measurement Methods显示文摘Congenital cataract is the main cause of blindness in children, with significantly varying treatment effects. The development of axial length is an important factor that affects the prognosis of these children.However,when compared with the eyes of normal children,the mechanism of growth of the axial length is so complicated that the reported findings differ significantly in terms of the measuring apparatus,assessment methods,and statistical outcome,making the rule of axial length development still unclear. In this paper, we first review the process of axial length development in normal healthy children and compare different hypotheses about certain factors that could affect the development of axial length. The results of some current research about the characteristics of axial length development in congenital cataract children are then reviewed. | 3 | Satellite UV-Vis spectroscopy:implications for air quality trends and their driving forces in China during 2005-2017显示文摘Abundances of a range of air pollutants can be inferred from satellite UV-Vis spectroscopy measurements by using the unique absorption signatures of gas species.Here,we implemented several spectral fitting methods to retrieve tropospheric NO_(2),SO_(2),and HCHO from the ozone monitoring instrument(OMI),with radiative simulations providing necessary information on the interactions of scattered solar light within the atmosphere.We analyzed the spatial distribution and temporal trends of satellite-observed air pollutants over eastern China during 2005-2017,especially in heavily polluted regions.We found significant decreasing trends in NO_(2) and SO_(2) since 2011 over most regions,despite varying temporal features and turning points.In contrast,an overall increasing trend was identified for tropospheric HCHO over these regions in recent years.Furthermore,generalized additive models were implemented to understand the driving forces of air quality trends in China and assess the effectiveness of emission controls.Our results indicated that although meteorological parameters,such as wind,water vapor,solar radiation and temperature,mainly dominated the day-to-day and seasonal fluctuations in air pollutants,anthropogenic emissions played a unique role in the long-term variation in the ambient concentrations of NO_(2),SO_(2),and HCHO in the past 13 years.Generally,recent declines in NO_(2) and SO_(2) could be attributed to emission reductions due to effective air quality policies,and the opposite trends in HCHO may urge the need to control anthropogenic volatile organic compound(VOC)emissions. | Chengxin Zhang Cheng Liu Qihou Hu Zhaonan Cai Wenjing Su Congzi Xia Yizhi Zhu Siwen Wang Jianguo Liu | 2019 | Light(Science & Applications)2019,8,1: | 11 |
| 4 | A Robust Fault Detection Algorithm for the GNSS/INS Integrated Navigation Systems显示文摘Integrity is an important index for GNSS-based navigation and positioning, and the receiver autonomous integrity monitoring (RAIM) algorithm has been presented for integrity applications. In the integrated navigation systems of a global navigation satellite system (GNSS) and inertial navigation system (INS),the conventional RAIM algorithm has been developed to extended receiver autonomous integrity monitoring (ERAIM). However, the ERAIM algorithm may fail and a false alarm may generate once the measurements are contaminated by significant outliers, and this problem is rarely discussed in the existing literatures. In this paper, a robust fault detection and the corresponding data processing algorithm are proposed based on the ERAIM algorithm and the robust estimation. In the proposed algorithm, weights of the measurements are adjusted with the equivalent weight function, and the efficiency of the outlier detection and identification is improved, therefore, the estimates become more reliable, and the probability of the false alarm is decreased. | 5 | Reliability Evaluation of IEEE 802.11p-Based Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communication in an Urban Expressway显示文摘IEEE 802.11p/DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communication) is considered to be a promising wireless communication standard for enhancing transportation safety and efficiency. However, IEEE 802.11p-based Vehicleto-Vehicle(V2V) communication is still unreliable because of the complicating factors of high vehicle speed and complex radio environments. In this paper, we performed a data-based evaluation of V2 V communication reliability,using real-world measurements in a typical urban expressway in Beijing. With respect to the characteristics of the urban expressway and our experimental data, we found road slope and traffic density to be the major environmental factors having a significant impact on the V2 V communication's Line-Of-Sight(LOS) conditions. On the basis of these two factors, we propose a fuzzy classification method for the LOS conditions, and separate the realtime communication environments into different LOS cases. For each LOS case, we quantify the metrics as received signal strength indication, packet delivery rate, and communication latency. The results reveal that the communication reliability in urban expressways is very unstable because of the changing LOS conditions. | 7 | Impact of diabetes on promoting the growth of breast cancer显示文摘Background:Type Ⅱ diabetes mellitus(DM2)is a significant risk factor for cancers,including breast cancer.However,a proper diabetic breast cancer mouse model is notwell-established for treatment strategy design.Additionally,the precise diabetic signaling pathways that regulate cancer growth remain unresolved.In the present study,we established a suitable mouse model and demonstrated the pathogenic role of diabetes on breast cancer progression.Methods:We successfully generated a transgenic mouse model of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 positive(Her2^(+) or ERBB2)breast cancer with DM2 by crossing leptin receptor mutant(Lepr^(db/+))mice with (MMTV-ErbB2/neu)mice.Themousemodelswere administrated with antidiabetic drugs to assess the impacts of controlling DM2 in affecting tumor growth.Magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging was employed to analyze the tumor metabolism.Results:Treatment with metformin/rosiglitazone in MMTV-ErbB2/Lepr^(db/db) mousemodel reduced serum insulin levels,prolonged overall survival,decreased cumulative tumor incidence,and inhibited tumor progression.Anti-insulin resistance medications also inhibited glycolytic metabolism in tumors in vivo as indicated by the reduced metabolic flux of hyperpolarized ^(13)C pyruvate-to-lactate reaction.The tumor cells from MMTV-ErbB2/Lepr^(db/db) transgenic mice treated with metformin had reprogrammed metabolism by reducing levels of both oxygen consumption and lactate production.Metformin decreased the expression of Myc and pyruvate kinase isozyme 2(PKM2),leading to metabolism reprogramming.Moreover,metformin attenuated the mTOR/AKT signaling pathway and altered adipokine profiles.Conclusions:MMTV-ErbB2/Lepr^(db/db) mouse model was able to recapitulate diabetic HER2^(+) human breast cancer.Additionally,our results defined the signaling pathways deregulated in HER2^(+) breast cancer under diabetic condition,which can be intervened by anti-insulin resistance therapy. | Ping-Chieh Chou Hyun Ho Choi Yizhi Huang Enrique Fuentes-Mattei Guermarie Velazquez-Torres Fanmao Zhang Liem Phan Jaehyuk Lee Yanxia Shi James A.Bankson Yun Wu Huamin Wang Ruiying Zhao Sai-Ching Jim Yeung Mong-Hong Lee | 2021 | Cancer Communications2021,41,5: | 4 |
| 8 | A compact design of four-degree-of-freedom transmission electron microscope holder for quasi-four-dimensional characterization显示文摘Electron tomography(ET) has been demonstrated to be a powerful tool in addressing challenging problems, such as understanding 3 D interactions among various microstructures. Advancing ET to broader applications requires novel instrumentation design to break the bottlenecks both in theory and in practice. In this work, we built a compact four-degree-of-freedom(threedirectional positionings plus self-rotation) nano-manipulator dedicated to ET applications, which is called X-Nano transmission electron microscope(TEM) holder. All the movements of the four degrees of freedom are precisely driven by built-in piezoelectric actuators, minimizing the artefacts due to vibration and drifting of the TEM stage. Full 360° rotation is realized with an accuracy of 0.05° in the whole range, which solves the missing wedge problem. Meanwhile, the specimen can move to the rotation axis with an integrated 3D nano-manipulator, greatly reducing the effort in tracking sample locations during tilting.Meanwhile, in-situ stimulation function can be seamlessly integrated into the X-Nano TEM holder so that dynamic information can be uncovered. | 10 | A hybrid deep neural network based prediction of 300 MW coalfired boiler combustion operation condition显示文摘In power generation industries,boilers are required to be operated under a range of different conditions to accommodate demands for fuel randomness and energy fluctuation.Reliable prediction of the combustion operation condition is crucial for an in-depth understanding of boiler performance and maintaining high combustion efficiency.However,it is difficult to establish an accurate prediction model based on traditional data-driven methods,which requires prior expert knowledge and a large number of labeled data.To overcome these limitations,a novel prediction method for the combustion operation condition based on flame imaging and a hybrid deep neural network is proposed.The proposed hybrid model is a combination of convolutional sparse autoencoder(CSAE)and least support vector machine(LSSVM),i.e.,CSAE-LSSVM,where the convolutional sparse autoencoder with deep architectures is utilized to extract the essential features of flame image,and then essential features are input into the least support vector machine for operation condition prediction.A comprehensive investigation of optimal hyper-parameter and dropout technique is carried out to improve the performance of the CSAE-LSSVM.The effectiveness of the proposed model is evaluated by 300 MW tangential coal-fired boiler flame images.The prediction accuracy of the proposed hybrid model reaches 98.06%,and its prediction time is 3.06 ms/image.It is observed that the proposed model could present a superior performance in comparison to other existing neural network models. | HAN ZheZhe HUANG YiZhi LI Jian ZHANG Biao HOSSAIN Md.Moinul XU ChuanLong | 2021 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,10: | 3 |

It is worthy of noting that this technique may be a potential way for the purification of refractory and highly toxic organics in water for hydrogen production. Hazardous organics (such as phenol, aniline, nitrobenzene, tetrahydrofuran (THF), toluene, N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and cyclohexanol) in water could be completely de-graded into H2 and CO2 with high selectivity over Raney Ni, and Sn-modified Raney Ni (Sn-Raney-Ni) or Pd/C catalyst under mild conditions. The experimental results operated in tubular and autoclave reactors, indicated that the degradation degree of organics and H2 selectivity could reach 100% under the optimal reaction conditions. | 14 | Sphingosine kinase 1 promotes growth of glioblastoma by increasing inflammation mediated by the NF-κB/IL-6/STAT3 and JNK/PTX3 pathways显示文摘Glioblastoma(GBM)is the most challenging malignant tumor of the central nervous system because of its high morbidity,mortality,and recurrence rate.Currently,mechanisms of GBM are still unclear and there is no effective drug for GBM in the clinic.Therefore,it is urgent to identify new drug targets and corresponding drugs for GBM.In this study,in silico analyses and experimental data show that sphingosine kinase 1(SPHK1)is up-regulated in GBM patients,and is strongly correlated with poor prognosis and reduced overall survival.Overexpression of SPHK1 promoted the proliferation,invasion,metastasis,and clonogenicity of GBM cells,while silencing SPHK1 had the opposite effect.SPHK1 promoted inflammation through the NF-κB/IL-6/STAT3 signaling pathway and led to the phosphorylation of JNK,activating the JNK-JUN and JNK-ATF3 pathways and promoting inflammation and proliferation of GBM cells by transcriptional activation of PTX3.SPHK1 interacted with PTX3 and formed a positive feedback loop to reciprocally increase expression,promote inflammation and GBM growth.Inhibition of SPHK1 by the inhibitor,PF543,also decreased tumorigenesis in the U87-MG and U251-MG SPHK1 orthotopic mouse models.In summary,we have characterized the role and molecular mechanisms by which SPHK1 promotes GBM,which may provide opportunities for SPHK1-targeted therapy. | Wan Li Hongqing Cai Liwen Ren Yihui Yang Hong Yang Jinyi Liu Sha Li Yizhi Zhang Xiangjin Zheng Wei Tan Guanhua Du Jinhua Wang | 2022 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,12: | 2 |
