| 2 | Impacts of aerosol chemical compositions on optical properties in urban Beijing,China显示文摘The optical properties of aerosols and their chemical composition,including water-soluble ions,organic carbon(OC),and elemental carbon(EC) in PM_(2.5) and PM_(10),were measured from 26 May to 30 June of 2012 at an urban site in Beijing.The daily average concentrations of PM_(2.5) and PM_(10) were 103.2 and 159.6 μg/m^3,respectively.On average,the OC and EC contributed 20.1% and 4.3% ,respectively,to PM_(2.5) and 16.3% and3.9% ,respectively,to PM_(10).Secondary ions(SO_4^(2-),NO_3^-,and NH_4^+) dominated the water-soluble ions and accounted for 57.9% and 62.6% of PM_(2.5) and PM_(10),respectively.The wind dependence of PM_(2.5),OC,SO_4^(2-),and NO_3^- implied that the pollution sources mainly came from south and southeast of Beijing during the summer.The monthly mean values of the scattering coefficient(σ_(sc)) and absorption coefficient(σ_(ab)) at525 nm were 312.9 and 28.7 Mm^(-1),respectively,and the mean single-scattering albedo(ω) was 0.85.The wind dependence of σ_(sc) revealed that this value was mainly influenced by regional transport during the summer,and the relationship between σ_(ab) and wind indicated that a high σ_(ab) resulted from the joint effects of local emissions and regional transport.The reconstructed σ_(sc) that was derived from the revised IMPROVE equation agreed well with the observations.The contribution of different chemical species toσ_(sc) was investigated under different pollution levels,and it was found that secondary inorganic aerosols accounted for a large part of σ_(sc) during pollution episodes(35.7% ),while organic matter was the main contributor to σ_(sc) under clean conditions(33.6% ). | Ping Tian Guangfu Wang Renjian Zhang Yunfei Wu Peng Yan | 2015 | Particuology2015,13,1: | 5 |

| 4 | The microfacies and sedimentary responses to the mass extinction during the Permian-Triassic transition at Yangou Section, Jiangxi Province, South China显示文摘A Permian-Triassic(P-Tr) boundary section of continuous carbonate facies, which well recorded the biotic and environmental processes through the great P-Tr transition in the shallow non-microbialite carbonate facies, has been studied in Yangou, Leping County, Jiangxi Province. The P-Tr sequence is well correlated with the Meishan section according to the conodont biostratigraphy and the excursion of carbon isotopes. A series of high-resolution thin-sections from the P-Tr boundary carbonate rocks at the Yangou section are studied to explore the interrelation between environmental change and biological evolution during the transitional time. Six microfacies have been identified based upon the observation of the thin-sections under a microscope on the grains and matrix and their interrelation. Combined with the data of fossils and carbon isotopes, Microfacies 4(MF-4), coated-grain-bearing foraminifer oolitic sparitic limestone, and Microfacies 6(MF-6), dark shelly micritic limestone, should be the different responses to the two episodes of mass extinction and environmental events that can be correlated throughout South China and even over the world. The oolitic limestone of MF-4 is the first finding from the latest Permian strata in South China and it might be a proxy of an unusual environmental condition of high pCO2, low sulfate concentration and of microbial blooming in the aftermath of the latest Permian mass extinction. The micritic limestone of MF-6 containing rich micro-gastropods and ostracods probably represents the blooming event of disaster taxa in the earliest Triassic environment. | 9 | SCUBE2 mediates bone metastasis of luminal breast cancer by modulating immune-suppressive osteoblastic niches显示文摘Estrogen receptor (ER)-positive luminal breast cancer is a subtype with generally lower risk of metastasis to most distant organs. However, bone recurrence occurs preferentially in luminal breast cancer. The mechanisms of this subtype-specific organotropism remain elusive. Here we show that an ER-regulated secretory protein SCUBE2 contributes to bone tropism of luminal breast cancer. Single-cell RNA sequencing analysis reveals osteoblastic enrichment by SCUBE2 in early bone-metastatic niches. SCUBE2 facilitates release of tumor membrane-anchored SHH to activate Hedgehog signaling in mesenchymal stem cells, thus promoting osteoblast differentiation. Osteoblasts deposit collagens to suppress NK cells via the inhibitory LAIR1 signaling and promote tumor colonization. SCUBE2 expression and secretion are associated with osteoblast differentiation and bone metastasis in human tumors. Targeting Hedgehog signaling with Sonidegib and targeting SCUBE2 with a neutralizing antibody both effectively suppress bone metastasis in multiple metastasis models. | 15 | Direct Radiative Effects of Dust Aerosols over Northwest China Revealed by Satellite-Derived Aerosol Three-Dimensional Distribution显示文摘Northwest China is recognized as a main source and a major transport channel of dust aerosols in East Asia.With a fragile ecological environment,this region is quite sensitive to global climate change.Based on the satellite-derived aerosol three-dimensional distribution,the direct radiative effects of dust aerosols over Northwest China are evaluated.Aerosols over Northwest China are mainly distributed in the Tarim Basin,Junggar Basin,Gobi Desert,and Loess Plateau.The aerosol extinction coefficients are greater than 0.36 km-1 over the Tarim Basin and 0.16 km^(-1) over the Gobi Desert and Loess Plateau,decreasing with height.Aerosols over Northwest China are mainly composed of pure dust and polluted dust.These dust aerosols can modify the horizontal temperature gradient,vertical thermodynamic structure,and diurnal temperature range by absorbing and scattering shortwave radiation and emitting longwave radiation.For the column atmosphere,the radiative effect of dust aerosols shows heating effect of approximately 0.3 K day^(-1) during the daytime and cooling effect of approximately-0.4 K day^(-1) at night.In the vertical direction,dust aerosols can heat up the lower atmosphere(0.5–1.5 K day^(-1))and cool down the upper atmosphere(about-1.0 K day^(-1))during the daytime,while they cool down the lower atmosphere(-3 to-1.5 K day^(-1))and heat up the upper atmosphere(1–1.5 K day^(-1))at night.There are also significant lateral and vertical variations in the dust radiative effects corresponding to their spatial distributions.This study provides some scientific basis for reducing uncertainty in the investigation of aerosol radiative effects and provides observation evidence for simulation studies. | Rui JIA Yuzhi LIU Yan LI Jun LI Xiaolin HU Ronglu GAO Yunfei TIAN Yanling SUN Nannan MU Minfen ZHAO | 2022 | Journal of Meteorological Research2022,36,5: | 0 |
