1The growth mechanism of the basic magnesium chloride whisker显示文摘Based on the theoretical model of anion coordination polyhedron growth units, the growth mechanism of the basic magnesium chloride whisker was discussed in this paper.It was found that the basic magnesium chloride whisker habits were related to the different environments in which anion coordination polyhedra grew. The growth units of basic magnesium chloride whiskers are [Mg - (OH) 4]2 -and [Mg - Cl 4]2 -. The growth process is the incorporation process of growth units. Growth units will have different incorporations and orientations caused by different system characters or heating. 3Preparation and Characterization of Gd^(3+)-doped Monodisperse TiO_2 Hollow Microsphere显示文摘Gd^(3+)-doped monodisperse TiO_2 hollow microspheres with various molar ratios of Gd^(3+)/TBOT were synthesized via a novel process, which involved the preparation of SiO_2 templates, deposition of Gd^(3+)-doped TiO_2 by sol-gel, SiO_2 coating, heat treatment to induce crystallization of TiO_2, and finally etching away the inner SiO_2 templates and outer SiO_2 layers. The synthesized samples were characterized by transmission electron microscopy(TEM), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD), diffuse reflection spectroscopy(DRS), specific surface area measurement(BET) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS), respectively. The photocatalytic activity of Gd^(3+)-doped samples was evaluated via photocatalytic degradation of Methyl orange under UV irradiation. The results show that the SiO_2 layers prevent aggregation of TiO_2 hollow microspheresand improve the thermal stability of the synthesized samples. 4The role of bacterial signaling networks in antibiotics response and resistance regulation显示文摘Excessive use of antibiotics poses a threat to public health and the environment.In ecosystems,such as the marine environment,antibiotic contamination has led to an increase in bacterial resistance.Therefore,the study of bacterial response to antibiotics and the regulation of resistance formation have become an important research field.Traditionally,the processes related to antibiotic responses and resistance regulation have mainly included the activation of efflux pumps,mutation of antibiotic targets,production of biofilms,and production of inactivated or passivation enzymes.In recent years,studies have shown that bacterial signaling networks can affect antibiotic responses and resistance regulation.Signaling systems mostly alter resistance by regulating biofilms,efflux pumps,and mobile genetic elements.Here we provide an overview of how bacterial intraspecific and interspecific signaling networks affect the response to environmental antibiotics.In doing so,this review provides theoretical support for inhibiting bacterial antibiotic resistance and alleviating health and ecological problems caused by antibiotic contamination.Yuying Li Tao Feng Yan Wang 2022Marine Life Science & Technology2022,4,2:3

The sample preparation and experimental apparatus are described in detail. The quantitative computerized tomography (QCT) of elemental distribution, such as Ca, P, K, Fe, Zn, Sr and Pb in bone slice tissue including cartilage, substantial compact and substantial spongy, is investigated. 6Drug resistance mutation profiles of the drug-nave and first-line regimen-treated HIV-1-infected population of Suzhou, China显示文摘Little is known about the prevalence of drug-resistant mutations in HIV-1-positive individuals in Suzhou, China. To elucidate the transmitted drug resistance(TDR) and acquired drug resistance mutation(ADR) profiles, we collected blood specimens from 127 drug-naive and 117 first-line drugtreated HIV-1-infected individuals sampled from 2014 to 2016 in Suzhou. We successfully amplified po/fragments from 100 drug-naive and 20 drug-treated samples. We then determined the drugresistant mutations to protease(PR) and reverse-transcriptase(RT) inhibitors according to the Stanford drug resistance database. Overall, 11 and 13 individuals had transmitted(drug-naive group) and acquired(treated group) resistance mutations, respectively. Six transmitted drugresistant mutations were found, including two mutations(L33F and L76V) in the protease region and four(K70N/E and V179D/E) in the RT region. Only L76 V was a major mutation, and K70N/E and V179D/E are known to cause low-level resistance to RT inhibitors. All 13 treated participants who had major drug resistance mutations demonstrated intermediate to high resistance to efavirenz and nevirapine, and six had a treatment duration of less than three months. No major mutations to RT inhibitors were found, implying that the epidemic of transmitted resistance mutations was not significant in this area. Our results suggest that more frequent virus load and drug resistance mutation tests should be conducted for individuals receiving antiretroviral treatment, especially for newly treated patients. 8A metabolic intervention strategy to break evolutionary adaptability of tumor for reinforced immunotherapy显示文摘The typical hallmark of tumor evolution is metabolic dysregulation.In addition to secreting immunoregulatory metabolites,tumor cells and various immune cells display different metabolic pathways and plasticity.Harnessing the metabolic differences to reduce the tumor and immunosuppressive cells while enhancing the activity of positive immunoregulatory cells is a promising strategy.We develop a nanoplatform(CLCeMOF)based on cerium metal-organic framework(CeMOF)by lactate oxidase(LOX)modification and glutaminase inhibitor(CB839)loading.The cascade catalytic reactions induced by CLCeMOF generate reactive oxygen species“storm”to elicit immune responses.Meanwhile,LOX-mediated metabolite lactate exhaustion relieves the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment,preparing the ground for intracellular regulation.Most noticeably,the immunometabolic checkpoint blockade therapy,as a result of glutamine antagonism,is exploited for overall cell mobilization.It is found that CLCeMOF inhibited glutamine metabolism-dependent cells(tumor cells,immunosuppressive cells,etc.),increased infiltration of dendritic cells,and especially reprogrammed CD8^(+)T lymphocytes with considerable metabolic flexibility toward a highly activated,long-lived,and memory-like phenotype.Such an idea intervenes both metabolite(lactate)and cellular metabolic pathway,which essentially alters overall cell fates toward the desired situation.Collectively,the metabolic intervention strategy is bound to break the evolutionary adaptability of tumors for reinforced immunotherapy.Qianhua Feng Yutong Hao Shuaiqi Yang Xiaomin Yuan Jing Chen Yuying Mei Lanlan Liu Junbiao Chang Zhenzhong Zhang Lei Wang 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,2:1

16Crystal structures and microwave dielectric properties of Sr_(2)MgWO_(6) ceramics at different sintering temperatures显示文摘Sr_(2)MgWO_(6)(SMW)is a typical perovskite oxide compound,but there has been little research on the effects of processing on its dielectric properties.In this work,SMW ceramics were prepared by solid-state synthesis with sintering at 1450℃,1475℃,1500℃and 1525℃,respectively.XRD results confirmed that the samples possessed double perovskite structure(Fm-3m).The Raman and FTIR spectra were used to study the lattice vibrational modes.The FPSQ model was used to obtain the fitting curves of the FTIR spectra and derive the intrinsic properties of the material that were found to be in agreement with the measured data.The structure-property relationships were successfully established based on the Raman mode results.The optimal sintering temperature of SMW ceramics was identified as 1475℃due to the excellent performances characteristics(ε_(r)=16.97,Q×f=23,872 GHz,τ_(f)=-35.38 ppm/℃)obtained at this temperature.This study explored the relationships among the crystal structures,lattice vibrational characteristics and dielectric properties of SMW ceramics,so as to further understand their dielectric response mechanism and lay a solid theoretical foundation for the development of microwave ceramics.Jiqing Lv Zhikai Cao Yuying Wang Feng Shi Jing Wang 2022Journal of Materiomics2022,8,1:1
17Honokiol alleviated neurodegeneration by reducing oxidative stress and improving mitochondrial function in mutant SOD1 cellular and mouse models of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis显示文摘Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS)is a progressive neurodegenerative disease affecting both upper and lower motor neurons(MNs)with large unmet medical needs.Multiple pathological mechanisms are considered to contribute to the progression of ALS,including neuronal oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction.Honokiol(HNK)has been reported to exert therapeutic effects in several neurologic disease models including ischemia stroke,Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.Here we found that honokiol also exhibited protective effects in ALS disease models both in vitro and in vivo.Honokiol improved the viability of NSC-34 motor neuron-like cells that expressed the mutant G93A SOD1 proteins(SOD1-G93A cells for short).Mechanistical studies revealed that honokiol alleviated cellular oxidative stress by enhancing glutathione(GSH)synthesis and activating the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2(NRF2)-antioxidant response element(ARE)pathway.Also,honokiol improved both mitochondrial function and morphology via fine-tuning mitochondrial dynamics in SOD1-G93A cells.Importantly,honokiol extended the lifespan of the SOD1-G93A transgenic mice and improved the motor function.The improvement of antioxidant capacity and mitochondrial function was further confirmed in the spinal cord and gastrocnemius muscle in mice.Overall,honokiol showed promising preclinical potential as a multiple target drug for ALS treatment.Yujun Zhou Jingshu Tang Jiaqi Lan Yong Zhang Hongyue Wang Qiuyu Chen Yuying Kang Yang Sun Xinhong Feng Lei Wu Hongtao Jin Shizhong Chen Ying Peng 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,2:1
18Dietary lysozyme improves growth performance and intestinal barrier function of weaned piglets显示文摘Lysozyme(LZ)is a purely natural,nonpolluting and nonspecific immune factor,which has beneficial effects on the healthy development of animals.In this study,the influences of LZ on the growth performance and intestinal barrier of weaned piglets were studied.A total of 48 weaned piglets(Landrace×Yorkshire,22 d old)were randomly divided into a control group(basal diet)and a LZ group(0.1%LZ diet)for 19 d.The results showed that LZ could significantly improve the average daily gain(ADG,P<0.05)and average daily feed intake(ADFI,P<0.05).LZ also improved the intestinal morphology and significantly increased the expression of occludin in the jejunum(P<0.05).In addition,LZ down-regulated the expression of interleukin-1β(IL-1β,P<0.05)and tumor necrosis factor-a(TNF-a,P<0.05),and inhibited the expression of the genes in the nuclear factor-k-gene binding(NF-κB,P<0.05)signaling pathway.More importantly,the analysis of intestinal flora showed LZ increased the abundance of Firmicutes(P<0.05)and the ratio of Firmicutes to Bacteroidota(P=0.09)at the phylum level,and increased the abundance of Clostridium_sensu_stricto_1(P<0.05)and reduced the abundance of Olsenella and Prevotella(P<0.05)at the genus level.In short,this study proved that LZ could effectively improve the growth performance,relieve inflammation and improve the intestinal barrier function of weaned piglets.These findings provided an important theoretical basis for the application of LZ in pig production.Yuying Wu Bei Cheng Longxiang Ji Xiangyun Lv Yingying Feng Liu’an Li Xin Wu 2023Animal Nutrition2023,,3:0

20Probing of coupling effect induced plasmonic charge accumulation for water oxidation显示文摘A key issue for redox reactions in plasmon-induced photocatalysis, particularly for water oxidation, is the concentration of surface-accumulating charges(electrons or holes) at a reaction site for artificial photosynthesis. However, where plasmonic charge accumulated at a catalyst’s surface, and how to improve local charge density at active sites, remains unknown because it is difficult to identify the exact spatial location and local density of the plasmon-induced charge, particularly with regard to holes. Herein, we show that at the single particle level, plasmon-coupling-induced holes can be greatly accumulated at the plasmonic Au nanoparticle dimer/TiO_(2) interface in the nanogap region, as directly evidenced by the locally enhanced surface photovoltage. Such an accumulation of plasmonic holes can significantly accelerate the water oxidation reaction(multi-holes involved) at the interfacial reaction site, with nearly one order of magnitude enhancement in photocatalytic activities compared to those of highly dispersed Au nanoparticles on TiO_(2). Combining Kelvin probe force microscopy and theoretical simulation, we further clarified that the local accumulated hole density is proportional to the square of the local near-field enhancement.
