2Cropland cover change in Northeast China during the past 300 years显示文摘Land use/cover change induced by human activities has emerged as a 'global' phenomenon with Earth system consequences. Northeast China is an area where the largest land cultivation activities by migrants have happened in China during the past 300 years. In this paper, methods including documentary data calibration and multi-sourced data conversion model are used to reconstruct historical cropland cover change in Northeast China during the past 300 years. It is concluded that human beings have remarkably changed the natural landscape of the region by land cultivation in the past 300 years. Cropland area has increased almost exponentially during the past 300 years, especially during the past 100 years when the ratio of cropland cover changed from 10% to 20%. Until the middle of the 19th century, the agricultural area was still mainly restricted in Liaoning Province. From the late 19th century to the early 20th century, dramatic changes took place when the northern boundary of cultivation had extended to the middle of Heilongjiang Province. During the 20th century, three agricultural regions with high ratio of cropland cover were formed after the two phases of spatial expansion of cropland area in 1900s—1930s and 1950s—1980s. 4Transgenic rhesus monkeys carrying the human MCPH1 gene copies show human-like neoteny of brain development显示文摘Brain size and cognitive skills are the most dramatically changed traits in humans during evolution and yet the genetic mechanisms underlying these human-specific changes remain elusive.Here,we successfully generated 11 transgenic rhesus monkeys(8 first-generation and 3 second-generation)carrying human copies of MCPH1,an important gene for brain development and brain evolution.Brain-image and tissue-section analyses indicated an altered pattern of neural-cell differentiation,resulting in a delayed neuronal maturation and neural-fiber myelination of the transgenic monkeys,similar to the known evolutionary change of developmental delay(neoteny)in humans.Further brain-transcriptome and tissue-section analyses of major developmental stages showed a marked human-like expression delay of neuron differentiation and synaptic-signaling genes,providing a molecular explanation for the observed brain-developmental delay of the transgenic monkeys.More importantly,the transgenic monkeys exhibited better short-term memory and shorter reaction time compared with the wild-type controls in the delayed-matching-to-sample task.The presented data represent the first attempt to experimentally interrogate the genetic basis of human brain origin using a transgenic monkey model and it values the use of non-human primates in understanding unique human traits.Lei Shi Xin Luo Jin Jiang Yongchang chen Cirong Liu Ting Hu Min Li Qiang Lin Yanjiao Li Jun Huang Hong Wang Yuyu Niu Yundi Shi Martin Styner Jianhong Wang Yi Lu Xuejin Sun Hualin Yu Weizhi Ji Bing Su 2019National Science Review2019,6,3:12
5Potential influence of water level changes on energy flows in a lake food web显示文摘Large seasonal water-level fluctuations may influence isotopic signatures of primary producers and the types and amounts of these potential food sources accessible to aquatic fauna of Poyang Lake,the largest freshwater lake in China.In this study,the isotopic signatures of primary producers and consumers were determined,stable carbon and nitrogen isotope analysis and mixing models were combined to investigate the influence of water levels on the diet and isotopic composition of Poyang Lake fish and invertebrates.Five potential food sources (seston,benthic organic matter,aquatic macrophytes,attached algae,and terrestrial plants),4 species of invertebrates,and 10 species of fish were collected from the lake area during dry and wet seasons between January 2009 and April 2010.The δ 13C values of invertebrates and most fish were within the range of δ 13C values of the potential food sources for both seasons.The δ 13C values of invertebrates and most fish were lower in the dry season than in the wet season,whereas the δ 15N values exhibited different patterns for different species.Mixing models indicated that the most important food sources for common lake fauna were seston in the dry season and aquatic macrophytes and terrestrial plants in the wet season.The fauna were more omnivorous in the wet season than in the dry season.The food web dynamics of Poyang Lake are strongly influenced by changes in the abundance and accessibility of different basal food sources that occur because of seasonal flood pulses.The trophic links within the aquatic communities of Poyang Lake are modified by water-level fluctuations.WANG YuYu YU XiuBo LI WenHua XU Jun CHEN YuWei FAN Na 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,26:11
6Generation of a Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome monkey model by base editing显示文摘Many human genetic diseases,including Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome(HGPS),are caused by single point mutations.HGPS is a rare disorder that causes premature aging and is usually caused by a de novo point mutation in the LMNA gene.Base editors(BEs)composed of a cytidine deaminase fused to CRISPR/Cas9 nickase are highly efficient at inducing C to T base conversions in a programmable manner and can be used to generate animal disease models with single amino-acid substitutions.Here,we generated the first HGPS monkey model by delivering a BE mRNA and guide RNA(gRNA)targeting the LMNA gene via microinjection into monkey zygotes.Five out of six newborn monkeys carried the mutation specifically at the target site.HGPS monkeys expressed the toxic form of lamin A,progerin,and recapitulated the typical HGPS phenotypes including growth retardation,bone alterations,and vascular abnormalities.Thus,this monkey model genetically and clinically mimics HGPS in humans,demonstrating that the BE system can efficiently and accurately generate patient-specific disease models in non-human primates.Fang Wang Weiqi Zhang Qiaoyan Yang Yu Kang Yanling Fan Jingkuan Wei Zunpeng Liu Shaoxing Dai Hao Li Zifan Li Lizhu Xu Chu Chu Jing Qu Chenyang Si Weizhi Ji Guang-Hui Liu Chengzu Long Yuyu Niu 2020Protein & Cell2020,11,11:11
7Global land-surface air temperature change based on the new CMA GLSAT data set显示文摘The China Meteorological Administration(CMA)has recently developed a new global monthly homogenized land-surface air temperature data set.Based on this data set,we reanalyzed the change in global annual mean land-surface air temperature(LSAT)during three time periods(1901–2014,1979–2014 and 1998–2014).The results show that the linear trends of global annual mean LSAT were 0.104°C/decade,0.247°C/decade and 0.098°C/decade for the three periods,respectively.The trends were statistically significant except for the period 1998–2014,the period thatXiubao Sun Guoyu Ren Wenhui Xu Qingxiang Li Yuyu Ren 2017Science Bulletin2017,62,4:10

10Analysis on Nutrient Compositions and Nutritional Quality of Lota lota( Linnaeus) Muscle显示文摘In order to evaluate the nutritional quality of Lota lota(Linnaeus) muscle,the common nutrient components,amino acid composition and fatty acid composition in muscle of wild Lota lota(captured in Hailang reaches of Mudan River) were determined by routine methods. The results showed that the contents of moisture,crude protein,crude fat and ash were 81. 82%,15. 93%,0. 44% and 1. 06% in fresh muscle of Lota lota,respectively. Totally 17 amino acids,including seven kinds of essential amino acids(EAA),were detected in dry muscle of Lota lota(Linnaeus),accounting for 72. 43% of total dry muscle. The content of EAA was 29. 82%,accounting for 41. 17% of TAA,meeting the amino acid composition of high-quality protein standard required by Food and Agriculture Organization /Word Health Organization(FAO /WHO). There were four delicious amino acids(DAA) in dry muscle,accounting for 28. 34% of total dry weight.The percentage of DAA to TAA was 39. 13% in dry muscle. The contents of C20:5n- 3(EPA) and C22:6n- 3(DHA) in dry muscle were 8. 65% and 20. 32%respectively,which were significantly higher than that of the artificially cultured fish species,such as Oxyeleotris marmorata(EPA:2. 24%,DHA:4. 74%),Spinibarbus sinensis(EPA:0. 87%,DHA:3. 08%) and Glossogobius giuris(EPA: 3. 94%,DHA: 8. 10%). Based on the amino acids score(AAS) and chemical score(CS),the first limited amino acid in Lota lota(Linnaeus) was sulfur-containing amino acid(methionine + cysteine). The essential amino acids index(EAAI) of Lota lota(Linnaeus) was 62.58. It is concluded that Lota lota(Linnaeus) is abundant in amino acids and high-unsaturated fatty acids,and rational in composition of amino acids. 11Parathyroid hormone increases alveolar bone homoeostasis during orthodontic tooth movement in rats with periodontitis via crosstalk between STAT3 and β-catenin显示文摘Periodontitis patients are at risk of alveolar bone loss during orthodontic treatment.The aim of this study was to investigate whether intermittent parathyroid hormone(1–34)treatment(iPTH)could reduce alveolar bone loss during orthodontic tooth movement(OTM)in individuals with periodontitis and the underlying mechanism.A rat model of OTM in the context of periodontitis was established and alveolar bone loss was observed.The control,iPTH and iPTH+stattic groups received injections of vehicle,PTH and vehicle,or PTH and the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3)inhibitor stattic,respectively.iPTH prevented alveolar bone loss by enhancing osteogenesis and suppressing bone resorption in the alveolar bone during OTM in rats with periodontitis.This effect of iPTH was along with STAT3 activation and reduced by a local injection of stattic.iPTH promoted osteoblastic differentiation and might further regulate the Wnt/β-catenin pathway in a STAT3-dependent manner.The findings of this study suggest that iPTH might reduce alveolar bone loss during OTM in rats with periodontitis through STAT3/β-catenin crosstalk.Cheng Zhang Tiancheng Li Chenchen Zhou Li Huang Yuyu Li Han Wang Peipei Duan Shujuan Zou Li Mei 2020International Journal of Oral Science2020,12,4:4
12Effects of cerium doping position on physicochemical properties and catalytic performance in methanol total oxidation显示文摘The physicochemical properties of Pd and Pd-Pt catalysts which possess different Ce doping position were investigated by techniques of TEM, XRD, N2 adsorption-desorption, XPS and FT-IR. The catalytic performance for methanol total oxidation was examined to study the effects of Ce adding position.CeO_2-Al_2 O_3-TiO_2(CAT) catalysts that Ce is directly introduced into support show higher reactivity and CO_2 selectivity than CeO_2/Al_2 O_3-TiO_2(Ce/AT) samples in which Ce is loaded by impregnation method.The characterization results reveal that the Ce doping position does not cause obvious otherness of basic crystalline phase and mesoporous structure of support. However, the Ce doping position affects the pore shapes of support and then influences the pore diameter. CAT catalysts possess more abundant adsorbed oxygen and more Ti3+ can transform the more gaseous oxygen into the active oxygen species on the catalyst surface, which is beneficial to the reaction. 13Highly stable and antifouling graphene oxide membranes prepared by bio-inspired modification for water purification显示文摘Graphene oxide(GO)membranes show great potential in molecular separation for water treatment.However,the inferior stability of GO membranes is a major bottleneck for practical applications.In this study,bio-inspired polydopamine(PDA)deposition is reported for enhancing the stability of GO membranes.Through simple and mild immersion,PDA is self-polymerized on GO membranes.The blocking of PDA chains to membrane defects improves the rejections for various molecules.Because the inherently strong adhesion and crosslinking of PDA greatly strengthen the interactions of substrates to GO layers and the binding force of GO nanosheets,the prepared PDA-GO membranes exhibit impressive long-te rm stability in cross-flow filtration,and maintain good nanofiltration perfo rmance at various feed pressures,tangential velocities,and eve n after external scratching.Moreover,because the deposited PDA layers obstruct the direct contact between GO and contaminants,the antifouling property of the PDA-GO membranes increases substantially,with recovery ratio about 98%.Weiming Zhong Yuyu Zhang Ling Zhao Wanbin Li 2020Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,10:3

16DEEPEYE: An Automatic Big Data Visualization Framework显示文摘Data visualization transforms data into images to aid the understanding of data; therefore, it is an invaluable tool for explaining the significance of data to visually inclined people. Given a(big) dataset, the essential task of visualization is to visualize the data to tell compelling stories by selecting, filtering, and transforming the data, and picking the right visualization type such as bar charts or line charts. Our ultimate goal is to automate this task that currently requires heavy user intervention in the existing visualization systems. An evolutionized system in the field faces the following three main challenges:(1) Visualization verification: to determine whether a visualization for a given dataset is interesting, from the viewpoint of human understanding;(2) Visualization search space: a 'boring' dataset may become interesting after an arbitrary combination of operations such as selections,joins, and aggregations, among others;(3) On-time responses: do not deplete the user's patience. In this paper,we present the DEEPEYE system to address these challenges. This system solves the first challenge by training a binary classifier to decide whether a particular visualization is good for a given dataset, and by using a supervised learning to rank model to rank the above good visualizations. It also considers popular visualization operations, such as grouping and binning, which can manipulate the data, and this will determine the search space. 17Reconfigurable photovoltaic effect for optoelectronic artificial synapse based on ferroelectric p-n junction显示文摘Neuromorphic machine vision has attracted extensive attention on wide fields.However,both current and emerging strategies still suffer from power/time inefficiency,and/or low compatibility,complex device structure.Here we demonstrate a driving-voltage-free optoelectronic synaptic device using non-volatile reconfigurable photovoltaic effect based on MoTe_(2)/α-In_(2)Se_(3) ferroelectric p-n junctions.This function comes from the non-volatile reconfigurable built-in potential in the p-n junction that is related to the ferroelectric polarization inα-In_(2)Se_(3).Reconfigurable rectification behavior and photovoltaic effect are demonstrated firstly.Notably,the figure-of-merits for photovoltaic effect like photoelectrical conversion efficiency non-volatilely increases more than one order.Based on this,retina synapse-like vision functions are mimicked.Optoelectronic short-term and long-term plasticity,as well as basic neuromorphic learning and memory rule are achieved without applying driving voltage.Our work highlights the potential of ferroelectric p-n junctions for enhanced solar cell and low-power optoelectronic synaptic device for neuromorphic machine vision.Yanrong Wang Feng Wang Zhenxing Wang Junjun Wang Jia Yang Yuyu Yao Ningning Li Marshet Getaye Sendeku Xueying Zhan Congxin Shan Jun He 2021Nano Research2021,14,11:2
18Raindrop energy-powered autonomous wireless hyetometer based on liquid-solid contact electrification显示文摘Triboelectric nanogenerators(TENGs)can directly harvest energy via solid-liquid interface contact electrification,making them very suitable for harvesting raindrop energy and as active rainfall sensors.This technology is promising for realizing a fully self-powered system for autonomous rainfall monitoring combined with energy harvesting/sensing.Here,we report a raindrop energy-powered autonomous rainfall monitoring and wireless transmission system(R-RMS),in which a raindrop-TENG(R-TENG)array simultaneously serves as a raindrop energy harvester and rainfall sensor.At a rainfall intensity of 71 mm/min,the R-TENG array can generate an average short-circuit current,open-circuit voltage,and maximum output power of 15 pA,1800 V,and 325 pW,respectively.The collected energy can be adjusted to act as a stable 2.5 V direct-current source for the whole system by a power management circuit.Meanwhile,the R-TENG array acts as a rainfall sensor,in which the output signal can be monitored and the measured data are wirelessly transmitted.Linder a rainfall intensity of 71 mm/min,the R-RMS can be continuously powered and autonomously transmit rainfall data once every 4 min.This work has paved the way for raindrop energy-powered wireless hyetometers,which have exhibited broad prospects in unattended weather monitoring,field surveys,and the Internet of Things.Chaoqun Xu Xianpeng Fu Chengyu Li Guoxu Liu Yuyu Gao Youchao Qi Tianzhao Bu Yuanfen Chen Zhong Lin Wang Chi Zhang 2022Microsystems & Nanoengineering2022,8,2:2
19Changes of crop climate risk degree:a case study on cotton in Henan Province显示文摘The agricultural climate risk in the geographical transitional zones is very sensitive to climate change. Based on previous researches, this article established the cotton climate suitability model and the risk index to analyze the cotton climate risk degree in Henan Province. The result shows that, in the last 40 years, the cotton climate risk degree has a gradual increasing trend in which the precipitation plays a very important role, and the climate suitability and its deviation have different performances in the influence on the risk change in different phases; the increase rate of risk degree has significant regional and transitional characteristics, for example, from the eastern plain to the western mountains, the risk change rate becomes slower and slower, so the contrast between the central-southern Huang-Huai plain and the Funiu mountains is the most remarkable; and in the north-south direction, the contrast between the fast increase belt from the central-southern Huang-Huai plain to the middle Yellow River and the slow increase belt near the Yellow River is particularly remarkable, which is possibly the results of topographic and climatic transitional belt; and the risk change process also has obvious regional difference. For instance, abrupt change is an important characteristic in eastern Henan where this sudden change type has notable latitudinal difference, while in the western mountainous area it is very rare.
