3Molecular Epidemiological Characteristics of Streptococcus pyogenes Strains Involved in an Outbreak of Scarlet Fever in China,2011显示文摘Objective To investigate molecular characterization of streptococcus pyogenes isolates involved in an outbreak of scarlet fever in China in 2011.Methods Seventy-four Streptococcal pyogenes involved in an outbreak of scarlet fever were isolated from pediatric patients in the areas with high incidence in China from May to August of 2011.Emm genotyping,pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE),superantigen (SAg) genes and antimicrobial susceptibility profiling were analyzed for these isolates.Results A total of 4 different emm types were identified.Emm12 was the most prevalent type which contained four predominating PFGE patterns corresponding to four different virulence and superantigen profiles.Emm12 (79.7%) and emml (14.9%) accounted for approximately 94%of all the isolates.The speA gene was all negative in emm12 isolates and positive in emml isolates.All strains were resistant to erythromycin,and 89.4%of them were resistant to erythromycin,tracycline,and clindamycin simultaneously.Conclusion Several highly diversified clones with a high macrolide resistance rate comprise a predominant proportion of circulating strains,though no new emm type was found in this outbreak.The data provide a baseline for further surveillance of scarlet fever,which may contribute to the explanation of the outbreak and development of a GAS vaccine in China.YOU Yuan Hai SONG Yan Yan YAN Xiao Mei WANG Hai Bin ZHANG Meng Han TAO Xiao Xia Li Lei Lei ZHANG Yu Xin JIANG Xi Hong ZHANG Bing Hua ZHOU Hao XIAO Di JIN Lian Mei FENG Zi Jian LUO Feng Ji ZHANG Jian Zhong 2013Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2013,26,11:15
4Evaluating the Nutritional Status of Oncology Patients and Its Association with Quality of Life显示文摘Objective The primary aim of the study was to compare two nutritional status evaluation tools: the Patient-Generated Subjective Global Assessment(PG-SGA) and Nutritional Risk Screening(NRS-2002). Using the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Core Questionnaire 30(EORTC QLQ-C30), the second aim was to provide constructive advice regarding the quality of life of patients with malignancy. Methods This study enrolled 312 oncology patients and assessed their nutritional status and quality of life using the PG-SGA, NRS-2002, and EORTC QLQ-C30. Results The data indicate that 6% of the cancer patients were well nourished. The SGA-A had a higher sensitivity(93.73%) but a poorer specificity(2.30%) than the NRS-2002(69.30% and 25.00%, respectively) after comparison with albumin. There was a low negative correlation and a high similarity between the PG-SGA and NRS-2002 for evaluating nutritional status, and there was a significant difference in the median PG-SGA scores for each of the SGA classifications(P < 0.001). The SGA-C group showed the highest PG-SGA scores and lowest body mass index. The majority of the target population received 2 points for each item in our 11-item questionnaire from the EORTC QLQ-C30. Conclusion The data indicate that the PG-SGA is more useful and suitable for evaluating nutritional status than the NRS-2002. 6One-pot synthesis and characterization of a new, branched polycarbosilane bearing allyl groups显示文摘A highly branched polycarbosilane bearing allyl groups has been prepared by a one-pot synthesis with chloromethyltrichlor-osilane, chloromethylmethyldichlorosilane and allyl chloride as the starting materials. The resultant polymer, with the approximate formula [SiH1.2(CH3)0.71(CH2CH=CH2)0.09CH2]n, has been characterized by 1H, 13C, and 29Si NMR, GPC, TG and elemental analysis. It could be cross-linked thermally at 170℃in the absence of oxygen. 8Association of Overlapped and Un-overlapped Comorbidities with COVID-19 Severity and Treatment Outcomes: A Retrospective Cohort Study from Nine Provinces in China显示文摘Objective Several COVID-19 patients have overlapping comorbidities. The independent role of each component contributing to the risk of COVID-19 is unknown, and how some non-cardiometabolic comorbidities affect the risk of COVID-19 remains unclear.Methods A retrospective follow-up design was adopted. A total of 1,160 laboratory-confirmed patients were enrolled from nine provinces in China. Data on comorbidities were obtained from the patients’ medical records. Multivariable logistic regression models were used to estimate the odds ratio(OR) and 95% confidence interval(95% CI) of the associations between comorbidities(cardiometabolic or non-cardiometabolic diseases), clinical severity, and treatment outcomes of COVID-19.Results Overall, 158(13.6%) patients were diagnosed with severe illness and 32(2.7%) had unfavorable outcomes. Hypertension(2.87, 1.30–6.32), type 2 diabetes(T2 DM)(3.57, 2.32–5.49),cardiovascular disease(CVD)(3.78, 1.81–7.89), fatty liver disease(7.53, 1.96–28.96), hyperlipidemia(2.15, 1.26–3.67), other lung diseases(6.00, 3.01–11.96), and electrolyte imbalance(10.40, 3.00–26.10)were independently linked to increased odds of being severely ill. T2 DM(6.07, 2.89–12.75), CVD(8.47,6.03–11.89), and electrolyte imbalance(19.44, 11.47–32.96) were also strong predictors of unfavorable outcomes. Women with comorbidities were more likely to have severe disease on admission(5.46,3.25–9.19), while men with comorbidities were more likely to have unfavorable treatment outcomes(6.58, 1.46–29.64) within two weeks.Conclusion Besides hypertension, diabetes, and CVD, fatty liver disease, hyperlipidemia, other lung diseases, and electrolyte imbalance were independent risk factors for COVID-19 severity and poor treatment outcome. 9Genetic Relationship between Francisella Tularensis Strains from China and from Other Countries显示文摘Objective To study the types of subspecies of Francisella tularensis from China and to investigate the genetic relationships between F.tularensis strains from China and from other countries.Methods Ten strains of F.tularensis isolated from China were amplified by using typing primers C1/C4 and RD1.On the basis of the lengths of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) products,it was concluded that these strains of F.tularensis belonged to the same subspecies.At the same time,the fopA,tul4,and 16S rRNA genes of the 10 strains were amplified,and a three‐gene based phylogenetic analysis was performed using the Molecular Evolutionary Genetics Analysis software version 4.0.Results The 10 strains of F.tularensis from China were all identified as belonging to subspecies holarctica (type B).We found no direct relationship between the genotypes of F.tularensis subsp.holarctica and the geographical area from where they were isolated.Conclusion The F.tularensis strains isolated from North China mainly belong to subspecies holarctica (type B).The strains of F.tularensis subsp.holarctica from China may have evolved earlier than those from Europe and North America.WANG YanHua HAI Rong ZHANG ZhiKai XIA LianXu CAI Hong LIANG Ying SHEN XiaoNa YU DongZheng 2011Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2011,24,3:7

12PTPL1 suppresses lung cancer cell migration via inhibiting TGF-β1-induced activation of p38 MAPK and Smad 2/3 pathways and EMT显示文摘Epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)enables dissemination of neoplastic cells and onset of distal metastasis of primary tumors.However,the regulatory mechanisms of EMT by microenvironmental factors such as transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)remain largely unresolved.Protein tyrosine phosphatase L1(PTPL1)is a non-receptor protein tyrosine phosphatase that plays a suppressive role in tumorigenesis of diverse tissues.In this study we investigated the role of PTPL1/PTPN13 in metastasis of lung cancer and the signaling pathways regulated by PTPL1 in terms of EMT of non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)cells.We showed that the expression of PTPL1 was significantly downregulated in cancerous tissues of 23 patients with NSCLC compared with adjacent normal tissues.PTPL1 expression was positively correlated with overall survival of NSCLC patients.Then we treated A549 cells in vitro with TGF-β1(10 ng/mL)and assessed EMT.We found that knockdown of PTPL1 enhanced the migration and invasion capabilities of A549 cells,through enhancing TGF-β1-induced EMT.In nude mice bearing A549 cell xenografts,knockdown of PTPL1 significantly promoted homing of cells and formation of tumor loci in the lungs.We further revealed that PTPL1 suppressed TGF-β-induced EMT by counteracting the activation of canonical Smad2/3 and non-canonical p38 MAPK signaling pathways.Using immunoprecipitation assay we demonstrated that PTPL1 could bind to p38 MAPK,suggesting that p38 MAPK might be a direct substrate of PTPL1.In conclusion,these results unravel novel mechanisms underlying the regulation of TGF-βsignaling pathway,and have implications for prognostic assessment and targeted therapy of metastatic lung cancer.Ning Zhu Xiu-juan Zhang Hai Zou Yuan-yuan Zhang Jing-wen Xia Peng Zhang You-zhi Zhang Jing Li Liang Dong Gulinuer Wumaier Sheng-qing Li 2021Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,8:5
13Polypropylene non-woven supported fibronectin molecular imprinted calcium alginate/polyacrylamide hydrogel film for cell adhesion显示文摘Fibronectin(FN) imprinted polypropylene(PP) non-woven supported calcium alginate/polyacrylamide hydrogel film(PP-s-CA/PAM MIP) was prepared using non-woven PP fiber as matrix, FN as template molecule, sodium alginate(SA) and acrylamide(AM) as functional monomers, via UV radiation-reduced polymerization. The PP-s-CA/PAM MIP exhibited an obvious improvement in terms of adsorption capacity for FN compared with non-imprinted polymer(NIP). 18The first data release(DR1) of the LAMOST regular survey显示文摘The Large sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope(LAMOST) general survey is a spectroscopic survey that will eventually cover approximately half of the celestial sphere and collect 10 million spectra of stars, galaxies and QSOs. Objects in both the pilot survey and the first year regular survey are included in the LAMOST DR1. The pilot survey started in October 2011 and ended in June 2012, and the data have been released to the public as the LAMOST Pilot Data Release in August 2012. The regular survey started in September 2012, and completed its first year of operation in June 2013. The LAMOST DR1 includes a total of 1202 plates containing 2 955 336 spectra, of which 1 790 879 spectra have observed signalto-noise ratio(SNR) ≥ 10. All data with SNR ≥ 2 are formally released as LAMOST DR1 under the LAMOST data policy. This data release contains a total of 2 204 696 spectra, of which 1 944 329 are stellar spectra, 12 082 are galaxy spectra and 5017 are quasars. The DR1 not only includes spectra, but also three stellar catalogs with measured parameters: late A,FGK-type stars with high quality spectra(1 061 918 entries), A-type stars(100 073 entries), and M-type stars(121 522 entries). This paper introduces the survey design, the observational and instrumental limitations, data reduction and analysis, and some caveats. 19Formation mechanism of multi-functional black silicon based on optimized deep reactive ion etching technique with SF_6/C_4F_8显示文摘This paper reports a controllable multi-functional black silicon surface with nanocone-forest structures fabricated by an optimized deep reactive ion etching(DRIE)technique using SF6/C4F8 in cyclic etching-passivation process,which is maskless,effective and controllable.The process conditions are investigated by systematically comparative experiments and core parameters have been figured out,including etching process parameters,pre-treatment,patterned silicon etching and inclined surface etching.Based on the experimental data,the formation mechanism of nanocone shape is developed,which provides a novel view for in-depth understanding of abnormal phenomena observed in the experiments under different process situations.After the optimization of the process parameters,the black silicon surfaces exhibit superhydrophobicity with tunable reflectance.Additionally,the quantitative relationship between nanocones aspect ratio and surface reflectance and static contact angle is obtained,which demonstrates that black silicon surfaces with unique functional properties(i.e.,cross-combination of reflectance and wettability)can be achieved by controlling the morphology of nanostructures.ZHU Fu Yun ZHANG Xiao Sheng ZHANG Hai Xia 2015Science China(Technological Sciences)2015,58,2:2
20Age-related Infection with Cryptosporidium Species and Genotype in Pigs in China显示文摘Objective Pigs, as hosts of zoonotic Cryptosporidium species/genotypes, are domestic animals with public health significance. The present study was to characterize the infection rate and species/genotype of Cryptosporidium in pre-weaned and post-weaned pigs from Shanghai and Shaoxing, China. Methods A total of 208 fecal samples (42 from pre-weaned piglets, and 166 from post-weaned pigs) were examined by nested PCR of the 18S rRNA gene and analyzed by phylogenetic DNA fragment sequencing of secondary PCR products. Results Infection was detected in 79 samples (19/42 pre-weaned piglets, and 60/166 post-weaned pigs). C. suis (14/79) and Cryptosporidium pig genotype II (65/79) were identified; piglets were more susceptible to the former (13/14) and post-weaned pigs to the latter (59/65). Conclusion Infection of Cryptosporidium spp. in pigs was age-specific; piglets weremore susceptible to C. suis while pigs were more susceptible to Cryptosporidium pig genotype II. These findings combined with the isolation of the two Cryptosporidium from water suggest that pigs may be a source of zoonotic Cryptosporidium water pollution.
