| 2 | Self-organized phase-transition lithography for all-inorganic photonic textures显示文摘Realizing general processing applicable to various materials by one basic tool has long been considered a distant dream.Fortunately,ultrafast laser-matter interaction has emerged as a highly universal platform with unprecedented optical phenomena and provided implementation paths for advanced manufacturing with novel functionalities.Here,we report the establishment of a three-dimensional(3D)focal-area interference field actively induced by a single ultrafast laser in transparent dielectrics.Relying on this,we demonstrate a radically new approach of self-organized phase-transition lithography(SOPTL)to achieve super-resolution construction of embedded all-inorganic photonic textures with extremely high efficiency.The generated textures exhibit a tunable photonic bandgap(PBG)in a wide range from〜1.3 to〜2 pm.More complicated interlaced textures with adjustable structural features can be fabricated within a few seconds,which is not attainable with any other conventional techniques.Evidenee suggests that the SOPTL is extendable to more than one material system.This study augments light-matter interaction physics,offers a promising approach for constructing robust photonic devices,and opens up a new research direction in advaneed lithography. | Bo Zhang Dezhi Tan Zhuo Wang Xiaofeng Liu Beibei Xu Min Gu Limin Tong Jianrong Qiu | 2021 | Light(Science & Applications)2021,10,6: | 3 |

| 4 | Lanthanide-doped nanocrystals in high-Q microtoroids for stable on-chip white-light lasers显示文摘The plentiful energy states of lanthanide(Ln^(3+))-doped nanomaterials make them very promising for on-chip integrated white-light lasers.Despite the rapid progresses,the Ln^(3+)-based white upconversion emissions are strongly restricted by their low upconversion quantum efficiency and the color stability.Herein,we combine the CaF_(2):Yb_(35)Tm_(1.5)Er_(0.5)nanocrystals and the high-Q microtoroids,and experimentally demonstrate the chip-integrated stable white-light laser.By optimizing the sizes,density,and distributions of Ln^(3+)-doped nanocrystals,the Q factors of Ln^(3+)-doped microtoroids are maintained as high as 5×10^(5).The strong light matter interaction in high-Q microtoroids greatly enhances the upconversion emission and dramatically reduces the laser thresholds at 652 nm,545 nm,and 475 nm to similarly low values(1.89-2.10 m J cm^(-2)).Consequently,robust white-light microlaser has been experimentally achieved from a single microtoroid.This research has paved a solid step toward the chip-scale integrated broadband microlasers. | LIMIN JIN ZHUO LIU YUQI ZHANG YUNKAI WU YILIN LIU HUACHUN DENG QINGHAI SONG SHUMIN XIAO | 2022 | Photonics Research2022,10,7: | 1 |

| 7 | Zichong granules(资冲颗粒)promote differentiation of ovarian granulosa-like cells from human embryonic stem cells in vitro显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate whether Zichong granules(资冲颗粒,ZCKL),a very effective herbal formula for treating infertility,have an impact on the differentiation of ovarian granulosa cells from human embryonic stem cells(hESCs)in vitro,and to explore the cellular mechanisms of its clinical effects.METHODS:Serum from ZCKL-medicated rats was prepared and used to treat mesoderm cells derived from hESCs for 6 d.Normal rat serum and a set of growth factors were used as negative and positive controls,respectively.RESULTS:ZCKL-medicated rat serum,but not normal rat serum,induced hESCs-derived mesoderm cells to differentiate into functional ovarian granulosa-like cells(OGLCs)in a similar manner to defined growth factors.The induced OGLCs resembled the morphology of native human granulosa cells,expressed granulosa cell-specific markers at both the mRNA and protein levels,produced high levels of estradiol and strongly responded to follicle-stimulating hormone stimulation.Furthermore,mRNA levels of follistatin,mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 8 and bone morphogenetic protein 6 were dynamically changed during the process.CONCLUSION:In the ZCKL treatment of infertility,one mechanism by which ZCKL may act is by influencing ovarian granulosa cell differentiation and development,possibly through the follistatin and BMP/SMAD signaling pathways. | YAO Zouying WANG Jing LU Hua LI Limin ZHUO Tianxiu WAN Qian YIE Shangmian | 2021 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,2: | 0 |
| 8 | Efficacy and mechanisms of Dingxian pill(定痫丸)combined with valproic acid on pentylenetetrazol-induced chronic epilepsy in rats显示文摘OBJECIVE:To investigate the efficacy and mechanisms of Dingxian pill(定痫丸)combined with valproic acid(VPA)on pentylenetetrazol-induced chronical epilepsy in rats.METHODS:A rat model of epilepsy was established by administering pentylenetetrazol(PTZ)water solution(35 mg/kg).Rats were divided into 4 groups,among which three groups were treated with different drugs once a day for 28 d including Dingxian pill(2.4 g/kg),VPA(0.2 g/kg),or a combination of Dingxian pill(2.4 g/kg)and VPA(0.2 g/kg)respectively,and the control group was given the same volume of saline.Rats in different groups were compared based on animal behavior,electroencephalograms,Morris water maze,immunohistochemistry,transcriptomics and real-time polymerase chain reaction.RSULTS:The combination therapy of Dingxian pill and VPA inhibited PTZ-induced seizure-like behavior and reduced seizure grades more significantly than VPA alone.Compared with the control group,the learning and memory ability of chronic PTZ-induced epileptic rats was improved in all the drug treatment groups,especially in the group that received both Dingxian pill and VPA.Similar to the results of MWM tests,expression of the neuroexcitability marker gene c-Fos was reduced after Dingxian pill and/or VPA treatment,and the effect was most pronounced in the combined treatment group.Transcriptomic analysis revealed that gene expression in the rodent hippocampus,which is involved in epilepsy,was upregulated by combined treatment with Dingxian pill and VPA,compared with VPA treatment alone.CONCLUSION:Our results not only highlight the antiepileptic effects of combined Dingxian pill and VPA treatment,but also shed light on the underlying molecular mechanisms and provide a way to apply Traditional Chinese Medicine in the treatment of epilepsy. | QU Dongxiao GE Yiqin ZHUO Limin CHEN Liji XUE Yonghua CHENG Jiwei TAO Jie LI Guoyi ZHU Yudan XIAO Qian | 2023 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,2: | 0 |
