2Analysis of floral scent emitted from Syringa plants显示文摘Syringa is an important aromatic woody angiosperm that is widely planted in gardens. Its dry flowers are traditionally used to manufacture infusions and spices in China. In this study, the floral volatiles emitted from nine different Syringa species and varieties, viz.S. chinensis, S. protolaciniata, S. oblata, S. oblata var.giraldii, S. oblata var. plena, S. vulgaris ‘Mrs Harry Bickle', S. vulgaris ‘Bright Centennial', S. vulgaris ‘White Spires', and S. vulgaris ‘President Lincoln' were collected by the dynamic headspace technique, and then identified by automated thermal desorption–gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. There were significant differences incomponents and corresponding contents of floral scent emitted from the nine Syringa species and varieties.Among the detected components, b-ocimene exhibited the highest content, accounting for more than 70 % of the floral scent of S. protolaciniata, S. oblata var. giraldii, and S. vulgaris ‘Bright Centennial'. A significant daytime variation of floral scent emitted from S. pekinensis was recorded, especially for benzaldehyde, whose content first increased and then decreased. We studied the scent emitted from the in vitro flowers of S. vulgaris ‘Pres Lincoln'during the process of natural drying. Alcohol compounds were released in the greatest content, and the content of 2-ethyl-1-hexanol accounted for about 40 % of the total release amount. 3High-efficiency all-dielectric transmission metasurface for linearly polarized light in the visible region显示文摘We propose and numerically investigate an efficient transmission-mode metasurface that consists of quasicontinuous trapezoid-shaped crystalline silicon nanoantennas on a quartz substrate. This metasurface provides a linear phase gradient and realizes both full 2π phase shift and high transmission efficiency in the operating wavelength range from 740 to 780 nm. At the central wavelength around 751 nm, the total transmission efficiency is up to 88.0% and the section of the desired anomalous refraction is 80.4%. The anomalous refraction angle is 29.62°, and larger refraction angle can be achieved by changing the period of the super cell. We demonstrate a refraction angle as large as 38.59°, and the anomalous transmission efficiency reaches 76.6% at wavelength of 741 nm. It is worth mentioning that the structure is much simpler than conventional metasurfaces based on arrays of discrete nanoantennas. 5Monitoring checkpoint inhibitors:predictive biomarkers in immunotherapy显示文摘Immunotherapy has become the fourth cancer therapy after surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. In particular, immune checkpoint inhibitors are proved to be unprecedentedly in increasing the overall survival rates of patients with refractory cancers, such as advanced melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer, and renal cell carcinoma. However, inhibitor therapies are only effective in a small proportion of patients with problems, such as side effects and high costs. Therefore, doctors urgently need reliable predictive biomarkers for checkpoint inhibitor therapies to choose the optimal therapies. 13Analyzing electrostatic modulation of signal transduction efficiency in MoS_(2) nanoelectromechanical resonators with interferometric readout显示文摘Optical interferometry is a highly sensitive method for detecting the miniscule resonant motion in two-dimensional(2D)nanoelectromechanical systems(NEMS).However,the technique to control the interferometry signal strength has not been fully understood.In this work,we present analytical modeling of an effective method for tuning motion-to-signal responsivity in interferometric detection of 2D molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))NEMS resonators.We show that the responsivity can be tuned very efficiently,all the way from maximum to 0,by varying the vacuum gap underneath the 2D membrane electrostatically.We further show that the gate voltage corresponding to 0 responsivity,which means no motion signal can be detected,varies with the MoS_(2)thickness,diameter,pre-strain,and initial vacuum gap.Our findings provide an important guideline for optimizing measurement conditions when detecting motion in 2D NEMS structures using laser interferometry.Jiankai ZHU Pengcheng ZHANG Rui YANG Zenghui WANG 2022Science China(Information Sciences)2022,65,2:0
14Molecular design of recyclable thermosetting polyimide and its composite with excellent mechanical and tribological properties显示文摘Recyclability of thermosetting polymers and their composites is a challenge for alleviating environmental pollution and resource waste.In this study,solvent-recyclable thermosetting polyimide(PI)and its composite were successfully synthesized.The tensile strength,elongation at break,and Young’s modulus of PI are 108.70±7.29 MPa,19.35%±3.89%,and 2336.42±128.00 MPa,respectively.The addition of reduced graphene oxide(RGO)not only enhances the mechanical properties of PI but also endows it with excellent tribological properties.The PI illustrates a high recycling efficiency of 94.15%,but the recycled composite exhibits inferior mechanical properties.The recycling and utilization of PI and its composite are realized through imine bonds(-C=N),which provides new guidance for solving the problem of environmental pollution and resource waste and is potential application in the field of sustainable tribology.Xiaoyue WANG Zenghui YANG Tingmei WANG Qihua WANG Xinrui ZHANG Song LI 2024Friction2024,12,3:0
15Variation in reach-averaged bankfull discharge in the Yellow River Estuary in recent years显示文摘The Yellow River Estuary(YRE)alternatively experienced channel aggradation and degradation during the period 1990-2016.To study the variation in flood discharge capacity during the process of river bed evolution,bankfull characteristic parameters were investigated on the basis of measured hydrological data and surveyed cross-sectional profiles,which was crucial for comprehending the processes and the key factors to cause these rapid changes.A reach-averaged method was presented in this study in order to calculate the characteristic bankfull parameters in the YRE,and this method integrated the geometric mean using the logarithmic transformation with a weighted mean based on the distance between the two successive sections.The reach-averaged bankfull parameters in the tail reach of the Yellow River Estuary(the Lijin-Xihekou reach)during the period 1990-2016 were then calculated.Calculated results indicated that the adoption of a concept of reach-averaged bankfull discharge was much more representative than the cross-sectional bankfull discharge,and the results also indicated that bankfull discharges decreased during the process of channel aggradation,and increased during the process of channel degradation.Finally,an empirical formula and a delayed response function were established between the reach-averaged bankfull discharge and the previous 4-year average fluvial erosion intensity during flood seasons,and both of them were adopted to reproduce the reach-averaged bankfull discharges,and calculated results showed high correlations(R^(2)>0.8)of these two methods.Zhuoyuan YANG Junqiang XIA Meirong ZHOU Shanshan DENG Zenghui WANG Zhiwei LI 2021Frontiers of Earth Science2021,15,3:0

20Frequency-tunable microwave quantum light source based on superconducting quantum circuits显示文摘A non-classical light source is essential for implementing a wide range of quantum information processing protocols,including quantum computing,networking,communication and metrology.In the microwave regime,propagating photonic qubits,which transfer quantum information between multiple superconducting quantum chips,serve as building blocks for large-scale quantum computers.In this context,spectral control of propagating single photons is crucial for interfacing different quantum nodes with varied frequencies and bandwidths.Here a deterministic microwave quantum light source was demonstrated based on superconducting quantum circuits that can generate propagating single photons,time-bin encoded photonic qubits and qudits.In particular,the frequency of the emitted photons can be tuned in situ as large as 200 MHz.Even though the internal quantum efficiency of the light source is sensitive to the working fre-quency,it is shown that the fidelity of the propagating photonic qubit can be well preserved with the time-bin encoding scheme.This work thus demonstrates a versatile approach to realizing a practical quantum light source for future distributed quantum computing.Yan Li Zhiling Wang Zenghui Bao Yukai Wu Jiahui Wang Jize Yang Haonan Xiong Yipu Song Hongyi Zhang Luming Duan 2023Chip2023,2,3:0
