| 1 | A complete sequence and comparative analysis of a SARS-associated virus(Isolate BJ01)显示文摘The genome sequence of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)-associated virus provides essential information for the identification of pathogen(s), exploration of etiology and evolution, interpretation of transmission and pathogenesis, development of diagnostics, prevention by future vaccination, and treatment by developing new drugs. We report the complete genome sequence and comparative analysis of an isolate (BJ01) of the coronavirus that has been recognized as a pathogen for SARS. The genome is 29725 nt in size and has 11 ORFs (Open Reading Frames). It is composed of a stable region encoding an RNA-dependent RNA polymerase (composed of 2 ORFs) and a variable region representing 4 CDSs (coding sequences) for viral structural genes (the S, E, M, N proteins) and 5 PUPs (putative uncharacterized proteins). Its gene order is identical to that of other known coronaviruses. The sequence alignment with all known RNA viruses places this virus as a member in the family of Coronaviridae. Thirty putative substitutions have been identified by comparative analysis of the 5 SARS- associated virus genome sequences in GenBank. Fifteen of them lead to possible amino acid changes (non-synonymous mutations) in the proteins. Three amino acid changes, with predicted alteration of physical and chemical features, have been detected in the S protein that is postulated to beinvolved in the immunoreactions between the virus and its host. Two amino acid changes have been detected in the Mprotein, which could be related to viral envelope formation. Phylogenetic analysis suggests the possibility of non-human origin of the SARS-associated viruses but provides noevidence that they are man-made. | 2 | Analysis of Dynamics and Driving Factors of Wetland Landscape in Zoige,Eastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Zoige Wetland is one of the largest plateau wetlands in the world.This paper provides a dynamic analysis of spatial and temporal patterns of the wetland in Zoige, Eastern Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, supported by ERDAS8.7 and ArcGIS9.0.It is the first comparative analysis of a system of rapidly changing wetland with landscape patterns in Zoige, using 3 classified landsat Thematic Mapper images of 1977, 1994 and 2001.The classified images were used to generate wetland distributing maps, and shape index(S), diversity index(H), dominance index(D), evenness index(E), fragmentation index(F) and fractal dimension(Fd) were calculated and analyzed spatiotemporally across pure grazing area in Zoige for each landscape type and in different periods(before 1977, during 1977~1994 and 1994~2001), as well as the driving forces of natural and anthropogenic.The study shows that for a comprehensive understanding of the shapes and trajectories of the shrinking and desertificated land expansion of the wetland, a spatiotemporal landscape metrics analysis in different periods is an improvement than only with landscape changing rates.This type of analysis can also be used to infer underlying social, economic, and political processes that drive the observed wetland forms.The results indicate that wetland patterns can be changed over relatively short periods of time.Thetotal area of lake reduced by 164.86 km2,grassland extended by 141.74 km2,semi-marsh extended by 105.94 km2 , marsh reduced by 86.00 km2;the number of landscape patches reduced by 56, and their average area decreased by 2.68 km2;the successions within lake, marsh, semi-marsh and grassland were found obviously;S decreased stepwise;D and F increased but H decreased;The changing rate after 1994 was 2.3 to 2.9 times greater than that before.The change of the wetland landscape patterns resulted in the interaction between socio-economic and natural forces of positive and negative aspects;and natural factors affected as assistant aspect.Some important human activities in this period led to the change of the landscape patterns in this region directly.Some measurements made by government and NGO delayed the converting process partly. | QIU Pengfei WU Ning LUO Peng WANG Zuyuan LI Maihe | 2009 | Journal of Mountain Science2009,6,1: | 19 |
| 3 | Effect of Cyclocarya paliurus polysaccharides on streptozotocin-induced diabetic nephropathy in rats显示文摘OBJEVTIVE:To investigate the efficacy of Cyclocarya paliurus(C.paliurus)polysaccharides on streptozotocin-induced diabetic nephropathy in rats.METHODS:Rats were divided into 6 groups,including group of normal control,group of diabetic control,group of metformin treatment,low-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment,middle-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment and high-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides treatment.Histological analysis of kidney was analyzed using hematoxilin and eosin.Levels of blood glucose,creatinine,urea,uric acid were determined by spectrophotometry.Anti-oxidative enzymes were measured by real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR)and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Advanced glycation end products(AGEs)and transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1)level was measured by ELISA.RESULTS:Abnormal changes were observed in the group of diabetic control characterized by atrophy of the renal glomeruli with hypercellularity,congestion of glomerular tufts,dilation of the renal spaces,and degeneration of renal tubule.Compared with that of normal group,blood glucose,creatinine,urea,uric acid level was significantly increased in the group of diabetic control.Superoxide dismutase,catalase,glutathione peroxidase,glutathione reductase level was significantly decreased,but AGEs and TGF-β1 level was significantly increased.By contrast,administration of C.paliurus polysaccharides and metformin could reverse the above-mentioned results of the group of diabetic control,especially in the high-dose group of C.paliurus polysaccharides.CONCLUSION:Our findings suggest that C.paliurus polysaccharides may play a protecting role for nephropathy of diabetic rats by lowering glucose,creatinine,urea,uric acid level,enhancing the antioxidative ability,and reducing AGEs and TGF-β1 expression. | Xia Xichao Mao Dongxue Dai Hongmei Wu Xi Zhang Zuyuan Wang Huaying Zhou Wenwen Dong Yanmei Wang Mengqi Li Yuan Shao Xiangyang Ouyang Jingfeng | 2020 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2020,40,6: | 9 |
| 4 | New small-molecule drug design strategies for fighting resistant influenza A显示文摘In fluenza A virus is the major cause of seasonal or pandemic flu worldwide. Two main treatment strategies–vaccination and small molecule anti-in fluenza drugs are currently available. As an effective vaccine usually takes at least 6 months to develop, anti-in fluenza small molecule drugs are more effective for the fi rst line of protection against the virus during an epidemic outbreak, especially in the early stage. Two major classes of anti-in fluenza drugs currently available are admantane-based M2 protein blockers(amantadine and rimantadine) and neuraminidase(NA) inhibitors(oseltamivir, zanamivir, and peramivir). However, the continuous evolvement of in fluenza A virus and the rapid emergence of resistance to current drugs, particularly to amantadine, rimantadine, and oseltamivir, have raised an urgent need for developing new anti-in fluenza drugs against resistant forms of in fluenza A virus. | 5 | Nyström-based spectral clustering using airborne LiDAR point cloud data for individual tree segmentation显示文摘The spectral clustering method has notable advantages in segmentation.But the high computational complexity and time consuming limit its application in large-scale and dense airborne Light Detection and Ranging(LiDAR)point cloud data.We proposed the Nyström-based spectral clustering(NSC)algorithm to decrease the computational burden.This novel NSC method showed accurate and rapid in individual tree segmentation using point cloud data.The K-nearest neighbour-based sampling(KNNS)was proposed for the Nyström approximation of voxels to improve the efficiency.The NSC algorithm showed good performance for 32 plots in China and Europe.The overall matching rate and extraction rate of proposed algorithm reached 69%and 103%.For all trees located by Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)calibrated tape-measures,the tree height regression of the matching results showed an value of 0.88 and a relative root mean square error(RMSE)of 5.97%.For all trees located by GNSS calibrated total-station measures,the values were 0.89 and 4.49%.The method also showed good performance in a benchmark dataset with an improvement of 7%for the average matching rate.The results demonstrate that the proposed NSC algorithm provides an accurate individual tree segmentation and parameter estimation using airborne LiDAR point cloud data. | Yong Pang Weiwei Wang Liming Du Zhongjun Zhang Xiaojun Liang Yongning Li Zuyuan Wang | 2021 | International Journal of Digital Earth2021,14,10: | 2 |

In this investigation, NCD films were successfully deposited on pure Ti substrate by using a novel substrate pretreatment of ultrasonic scratching in a diamond powder-ethanol suspension and by a two-step process at moderate temperature.
