1Investigation of heavy metal partitioning influenced by flue gas moisture and chlorine content during waste incineration显示文摘The impact of moisture on the partitioning of the heavy metals including Pb,Zn,Cu and Cd in municipal solid waste (MSW) was studied in a laboratory tubular furnace.A thermodynamic investigation using CHEMKIN software was performed to compare the experimental results.Simulated waste,representative of typical MSW with and without chlorine compounds,was burned at the background temperature of 700 and 950°C,respectively.In the absence of chlorine,the moisture content has no evident effect on the volatility of Pb,Zn and Cu at either 700 or 950°C,however,as flue gas moisture increasing the Cd distribution in the bottom ash increased at 700°C and reduced at 950°C,respectively.In the presence of chlorine,the flue gas moisture reduced the volatility of Pb,Zn and Cu due to the transformation of the more volatile metal chlorides into less volatile metal oxides,and the reduction became significant as chlorine content increase.For Cd,the chlorine promotes its volatility through the formation of more volatile CdCl 2.As a result,the increased moisture content increases the Pb,Zn,Cu and Cd concentrations in the bottom ash,which limits the utilization of the bottom ash as a construction material.Therefore,in order to accumulate heavy metals into the fly ash,MSW should be dried before incineration.Qinghai Li,Aihong Meng,Jinyan Jia,Yanguo Zhang Department of Thermal Engineering,Key Laboratory for Thermal Science and Power Engineering of the Ministry of Education of China,Tsinghua University,Beijing 100084,China. 2010Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,5:24
2Genome Characteristics and Evolution of Pseudorabies Virus Strains in Eastern China from 2017 to 2019显示文摘Since late 2011,outbreaks of pseudorabies virus(PRV)have occurred in southern China causing major economic losses to the pig industry.We previously reported that variant PRV forms and recombination in China could be the source of continued epidemics.Here,we analyzed samples from intensive pig farms in eastern China between 2017 and 2019,and sequenced the main glycoproteins(gB,gC,gD,and gE)to study the evolution characteristics of PRV.Based on the gC gene,we found that PRV variants belong to clade 2 and detected a founder effect during by the PRV epidemic.In addition,we detected inter-and intra-clade recombination;in particular,inter-clade recombination in the gB genes of strains FJ-ZXF and FJ-W2,which were recombinant with clade 1 strains.We also found specific amino-acid changes and positively selected sites,possibly associated with functional changes.This analysis of the emergence of PRV in China illustrates the need for continuous monitoring and the development of vaccines against specific variants of PRV.Xiaofeng Zhai Wen Zhao Kemang Li Cheng Zhang Congcong Wang Shuo Su Jiyong Zhou Jing Lei Gang Xing Haifeng Sun Zhiyu Shi Jinyan Gu 2019Virologica Sinica2019,34,6:12
3Late Cretaceous palynology and paleoclimate change:Evidence from the SK1(South) core, Songliao Basin, NE China显示文摘Cretaceous climate was warmer than today.The Songliao Basin contains one of the most important Late Cretaceous non-marine deposits in China for the research of the paleoenvironment and paleoclimate.This research is based on core samples from the SK1(S)borehole.The strata sampled are the upper part of the Quantou Formation to member 2 of the Nenjiang Formation,where spores,pollen,dinoflagellates,and other microfossils are abundantly preserved.Based on analysis of the spores and pollen fossils from the core samples,the following six fossil assemblage zones have been recognized in ascending order:The Cicatricosisporites-Cyathidites-Pinuspollenites,Schizaeoisporites-Cyathidites-Classopollis,Cyathidites-Schizaeoisporites,Schizaeoisporites-Cyathidites-Proteacidites,Proteacidites-Cyathidites-Dictyotriletes,and the Lythraites-Callistipollenites-Schizaeoisporites zones.The six fossil zones range from the late Cenomanian to early Campanian.The Late Cretaceous dinoflagellate cysts in the Songliao Basin are of high abundance and low diversity.Specific phytoplankton types reflect salinity changes of the Songliao Lake.Paleoecology of the dinoflagellates suggests that sediments of members 2 and 3 of the Yaojia Formation(K2y2+3)were deposited in a freshwater environment,whereas members 2 and 3 of the Qingshankou Formation(K2q2+3)and members 1 and 2 of the Nenjiang Formation(K2n1+2)were deposited in freshwater to brackish water environments.Combined with the paleoecology of dinoflagellates and the palynomorph biozones,valuable information of the paleoclimate was provided.The quantitative analyses of spores and pollen fossils,such as vegetation type,climate type,and humidity type,diversity and dominance,indicate a relatively sub-humid,mid-subtropical paleoclimate,with slight climatic fluctuation and/or temporal change.ZHAO Jing WAN XiaoQiao XI DangPeng JING Xia LI Wei HUANG QingHua ZHANG JinYan 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,12:10
4Recent progress of nanogenerators acting as biomedical sensors in vivo显示文摘Since the nanogenerator(NG) was invented in 2006, it has been successfully developed and utilized to harvest various forms of mechanical energy in vivo. The NGs promote the progress of self-powered biomedical devices. Moreover, NGs can also be used as sensors to detect a variety of important physiological signals, which brings us closer to real-time, high-fidelity monitoring of physical and pathological information. This paper summarizes the in vivo applications of NGs as biomedical sensors, including in cardiac sensors, respiration sensors, blood pressure sensors, gastrointestinal sensors and bladder sensors.However, there are still many challenges in using NGs as sensors in vivo. For example, how can we minimize and encapsulate the NGs, how can we increase the stability and reliability during long-term detection, and how can we establish a corresponding relationship between the NG’s electrical output and the physiological signals. It is also critical to follow the medical principles more closely in the development of self-powered sensors in the future. 7Production of Two Elite Glutinous Rice Varieties by Editing Wx Gene显示文摘The waxy gene(Wx) in rice, which encodes the granule bound starch synthase enzyme, is responsible for amylose synthesis. Glutinous(sticky) rice has little or no amylose that can be used in various applications, such as brewing. In this study, knockout of the Wx gene with CRISPR/Cas9 technology was conducted in two elite japonica rice lines, Huaidao 5(HD5) and Suken 118(SK118), aiming to develop elite sticky rice varieties. We achieved six homozygous T_0 plants with more than 200 bp deletion in the Wx gene, as well as 36 wx-HD5 and 18 wx-SK118 homozygous transgene-free plants in the T_1 generation. The seeds of all the mutants were white and opaque, similar to those of sticky rice, and contained only 2.6%–3.2% amylose. Results of scanning electron microscopy showed that the quality of rice did not change. 9Hepatitis B virus X protein enhances hepatocarcinogenesis by depressing the targeting of NUSAP1 mRNA by miR-18b显示文摘Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the underlying mechanism whereby HBx modulates the targeting of NUSAP1 by miR-18b to enhance hepatocarcinogenesis.Methods: We employed an integrated approach of bioinformatics analysis and molecular experiments in hepatoma cells, HBV transgenic mice, and clinical liver cancer tissues to investigate the role of HBx-regulated miR-18b in the development of liver cancer.Results: In this study, we report that the HBx-mediated tumor suppressor miR-18b modulates hepatocarcinogenesis during the host-HBV interaction. The expression levels of miR-18b were lower in clinical HBV-positive liver cancer tissues and liver tissues of HBV-transgenic mice. Interestingly, HBx inhibited miR-18b expression by inducing the methylation of CpG islands in its promoter. Accordingly, we tested the hypothesis that HBx enhanced hepatocarcinogenesis by increasing the expression of target genes of miR-18b. Moreover, we identified nucleolar spindle-associated protein 1(NUSAP1) as one of the target genes of miR-18b.NUSAP1 was expressed at high levels in liver cancer tissues. Interestingly, HBx up-regulated NUSAP1 by suppressing miR-18b.Functionally, miR-18b significantly inhibited the proliferation of hepatoma cells by depressing NUSAP1 levels in vivo and in vitro.Conclusions: Thus, we conclude that the targeting of NUSAP1 mRNA by the tumor suppressor miR-18b is controlled by HBxmodulated promoter methylation during the host-virus interaction, leading to hepatocarcinogenesis. 10Genetic analysis and gene fine mapping of a rolling leaf mutant (rl_(11(t))) in rice (Oryza sativa L.)显示文摘The exploration of new genes controlling rice leaf shape is an important foundation for rice functional genomics and plant architecture improvement. In the present study, we identified a rolling leaf mutant from indica variety Yuefeng B, named rl11(t), which exhibited reduced plant height, rolling and narrow leaves. Leaves in rl11(t) mutant showed abnormal number and morphology of veins compared with those in wild type plants. In addition, rl11(t) mutant was less sensitive to the inhibitory effect of auxin than the wild type. Genetic analysis suggested that the mutant was controlled by a single recessive gene. Gene Rl11(t) was initially mapped between SSR markers RM6089 and RM124 on chromosome 4. Thirty-two new STS markers around the Rl11(t) region were developed for fine mapping. A physical map encompassing the Rl11(t) locus was constructed and the target gene was finally delimited to a 31.6 kb window between STS4-25 and STS4-26 on BAC AL606645. 11Novel constant-cladding tapered-core ytterbium-doped fiber for high-power fiber laser oscillator显示文摘Power scaling based on traditional ytterbium-doped fibers(YDFs)is limited by optical nonlinear effects and transverse mode instability(TMI)in high-power fiber lasers.Here,we propose a novel long tapered fiber with a constant cladding and tapered core(CCTC)along its axis direction.The tapered-core region of the fiber is designed to enhance the stimulated Raman scattering(SRS)threshold and suppress higher-order mode resonance in the laser cavity.The CCTC YDF was fabricated successfully with a modified chemical vapor deposition(MCVD)method combined with solution doping technology,which has a cladding diameter of 400µm and a varying core with a diameter of~24μm at both ends and~31μm in the middle.To test the performance of the CCTC fiber during high-power operation,an all-fiber laser oscillator based on a CCTC YDF was investigated experimentally.As a result,a maximum output power of 3.42 kW was achieved with an optical-to-optical efficiency of 55.2%,although the TMI effect was observed at an output power of~3.12 kW.The measured beam quality(M^(2)factor)was~1.7,and no sign of the Raman component was observed in the spectrum.We believe that CCTC YDF has great potential to simultaneously mitigate the SRS and TMI effects,and further power scaling is promising by optimizing the structure of the YDF.Yun Ye Xianfeng Lin Xiaoming Xi Chen Shi Baolai Yang Hanwei Zhang Xiaolin Wang Jinyan Li Xiaojun Xu 2021High Power Laser Science and Engineering2021,9,2:5
12Traditional Chinese Medicine etiology and pathogenesis of acquired immune deficiency syndrome in simian immunodeficiency virus-infected Chinese rhesus macaques显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) etiology and pathogenesis of acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS) by 18-month observation of Chinese rhesus macaques infected with simian immunodeficiency virus(SIV) mac 239.METHODS:Thirty-five healthy Chinese rhesus macaques were divided into a model group(n=30) and a control group(n=5).The model was established by inoculating monkeys intravenously with SIVmac 239.Changes in TCM symptoms after SIV infection within 18 months were then observed and recorded.Routine blood tests,SIV viral load,T-lymphocyte subsets,plasma triiodothyronine(T3),tetraiodothyronine(T4),adrenocorticotropic hormone(ACTH) and cortisol(Cor) were tested periodically during the experiment.RESULTS:During the acute infection period of SIV,model monkeys temporarily showed clinical symptoms such as diarrhea,dysphoria and slight weight loss.Decrease percentages of CD4+ T-lymphocytes were observed but levels of T3,T4,Cor,and ACTH were relatively unchanged.Monkeys in the model group during the early and middle periods of infection showed no obvious symptoms,except few monkeys exhibited transient diarrhea and reduced food intake.All variables at this stage showed normal fluctuations.In the middle period model group monkeys showed chronic and persistent diarrhea,weight loss,reduced food intake and low levels of T3 and Cor.In the late period,symptoms including emaciation,weight loss,listlessness,crouching in corners and low levels of T3 appeared.CONCLUSION:The results suggest that the rhesus monkey SIV/SAIDS model can be applied to research on TCM etiology and pathogenesis of AIDS.According to this model,the etiology of disease is the SIV virus.The pathogenesis manifests as the invasion of SIV virus,incubation of the virus,balance between virus and healthy 'Qi',damage to spleen and kidney as the disease progressed,exhaustion of vitality and finally the failure of five zang and six fu organs.Maoqing Li Linchun Fu Yinjie Hu Miaomiao Zhang Jinyang He Zhixi Chen Jinyan Chen 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4:5

16Geniposide, the component of the Chinese herbal formula Tongluojiunao, protects amyloid-β peptide(1–42)-mediated death of hippocampal neurons via the non-classical estrogen signaling pathway显示文摘Tongluojiunao(TLJN) is an herbal medicine consisting of two main components, geniposide and ginsenoside Rg1. TLJN has been shown to protect primary cultured hippocampal neurons. However, its mechanism of action remains unclear. In the present study, primary cultured hippocampal neurons treated with Aβ1–42(10 μmol/L) significantly increased the release of lactate dehydrogenase, which was markedly reduced by TLJN(2 μL/mL), specifically by the component geniposide(26 μmol/L), but not ginsenoside Rg1(2.5 μmol/L). The estrogen receptor inhibitor, ICI182780(1 μmol/L), did not block TLJN- or geniposide-mediated decrease of lactate dehydrogenase under Aβ1–42-exposed conditions. However, the phosphatidyl inositol 3-kinase or mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway inhibitor, LY294002(50 μmol/L) or U0126(10 μmol/L), respectively blo cked the decrease of lactate dehydrogenase mediated by TLJN or geniposide. 17Identification of p100 target promoters by chromatin immunoprecipitation-guided ligation and selection (ChIP-GLAS)显示文摘The multifunctional protein p100 is a vital transcriptional regulator that increases gene transcription by forming a physical bridge between promoter-specific transcription factors and the basal transcription machinery.To identify potential signal transduction pathways in which human p100 acts as a coregulator and to find target promoter regions that may interact with p100,we performed a promoter microarray assay called chromatin immunoprecipitation-guided ligation and selection(ChIP-GLAS).From this assay,we determined that a set of promoter fragments,including several factors in the transforming growth factor beta(TGF-β)signaling pathway,exhibited interaction with p100.The ChIP-GLAS data were validated by RT-PCR assessing the mRNA expression of various factors in the TGF-b signaling pathway in cell lines.Xin Liu Lijie Dong Xuejun Zhang Baoya Wang Xinting Wang Hu Li Jinyan He Lin Ge Xiang Jing Zhi Yao Jie Yang 2011Cellular & Molecular Immunology2011,8,1:3
18Synergistic impact of cocatalysts and hole scavenger for promoted photocatalytic H2 evolution in mesoporous TiO2–NiSx hybrid显示文摘Photocatalytic solar energy conversion to hydrogen is sustainable and attractive for addressing the global energy and environmental issue. Herein, a novel photocatalytic system (NiS/Ni3S4 cocatalysts modified mesoporous TiO2) with superior photocatalytic hydrogen evolution capability through the synergistic impact of NiS/Ni3S4 (NiSx) cocatalyst and efficient hole scavenger has been demonstrated. The photocatalytic hydrogen evolution of TiO2-NiSx hybrids with the different content of NiSx and upon different organic hole scavengers was both investigated. The hybrid of TiO2 decorated with 3%(mole ratio of Ni^2+) NiSx cocatalyst in methanol solution showed the optimal photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate of 981.59 μmol h^-1 g^-1 which was about 20 times higher than that of bare mesoporous TiO2. 19Preparation of the Supported Heteropolyacids Catalyst by Ultrasound-plasma Treatment显示文摘Novel catalysts of phosphotungstic heteropolyacids(PW_(12))supported on neutral alumina were prepared by assistance of ultrasound and plasma treatment.The prepared catalysts were characterized by FT-IR pyridine adsorption(Py-IR),temperature programmed desorption of Pyridine(Py-TPD),BET and X-ray diffraction(XRD),and their catalytic performances were evaluated by the cationic polymerization of tetrahydrofuran.The results indicate that plasma treatment remarkably increases the surface acidity of the prepared catalyst while ultrasonic treatment induces PW_(12)to uniformly disperse on the support surface and expose more active sites for the acid catalytic reaction.A higher catalytic activity(69.7%)is obtained on the novel catalyst,which significantly outstripped that on the conventional sample(57.5%).LI Yang CHU Wei CHEN Muhua HU Jinyan 2008Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2008,23,2:3
