| 1 | Chronology and geochemistry of the volcanic rocks in Woruo Mountain region,Northern Qiangtang depression:Implications to the Late Triassic volcanic-sedimentary events显示文摘A suite of sedimentary-volcaniclastic rocks intercalated with the volcanic rocks unconformably overlies the Triassic Xiaochaka Formation in the Woruo Mountain region, Qiangtang Basin, northern Tibet. The vitric tuff from the base of these strata gives a SHRIMP zircon U-Pb age of 216 ± 4.5 Ma, which represents the age of the Late Triassic volcanic-sedimentary events in the Woruo Mountain region, and is consistent with that of the formation of the volcanic rocks from the Nadi Kangri Formation in the Nadigangri-Shishui River zone. There is a striking similarity in geochemical signatures of the volcanic rocks from the Woruo Mountain region and its adjacent Nadigangri-Shishui River zone, indicating that all the volcanic rocks from the Qiangtang region might have the same magmatic source and similar tectonic setting during the Late Triassic. | 3 | A Comparative Analysis of Evaporate Sediments on Earth and Mars: Implications for the Climate Change on Mars显示文摘The knowledge of Martian salts has gone through substantial changes during the past decades. In the 70th of last century, Viking landers have noticed the existence of salts on Mars. Several salt species have been suggested from then on, such as sulfates and chlorides. However, their origin was a mystery due to the lack of observations. The recent explorations and related studies at the beginning of this century revealed that the crustal composition of Mars is similar to that of Earth, and it was hypothesized that almost one third of Martian surface was covered by oceans and lakes in the early stage of Mars. The huge water bodies may have dissolved a large quantity of ions from Martian primary rocks during the whole Noachian and Hesperian epoch. After the enormous drought event happened during the late Hesperian and the early Amazonian, these dissolved ions have formed huge salts deposits and most of them were preserved on Mars until today. To date, carbonates, sulfates, chlorides have all been detected by orbital remote sensing and by landers and rovers. However, the salt mineral assemblages on Mars seems to have some differences from those on Earth, e.g., rich in sulfates and lack of massive carbonates. To explain this difference, we propose that most of the surface carbonates precipitated from the ancient oceans may have been dissolved by the later ubiquitous acidic fluids originated from the global volcanism in the Hesperian era, and formed the enormous sulfate deposits as detected, and this hypothesis seems to be supported by the evidence that most of the sulfate deposits distribute around the Tharsis volcanic province while the survived carbonates located far from it. This process can release most of the carbon on Mars to the atmosphere in the form of CO2 and then be erased by the late heavy bombardments, which might have profound influence on the climate change happened in the Hesperian age. | 4 | GLUT1-mediated effective anti-miRNA21 pompon for cancer therapy显示文摘Oncogenic microRNAs are essential components in regulating the gene expression of cancer cells. Especially miR21, which is a major player involved of tumor initiation, progression, invasion and metastasis in several cancers. The delivery of anti-miR21 sequences has significant potential for cancer treatment. Nevertheless, since anti-miR21 sequences are extremely unstable and they need to obtain certain concentration to function, it is intensely difficult to build an effective delivery system for them.The purpose of this work is to construct a self-assembled glutathione(GSH)-responsive system with tumor accumulation capacity for effective anti-miR21 delivery and cancer therapy. A novel drug delivery nanosphere carrying millions of anti-miR21 sequences was developed through the rolling circle transcription(RCT) method. GSH-responsive cationic polymer polyethyleneimine(pOEI) was synthesized to protect the nanosphere from degradation by Dicer or other RNase in normal cells and optimize the pompon-like nanoparticle to suitable size. Dehydroascorbic acid(DHA), a targeting molecule, which is a substrate of glucose transporter 1(GLUT 1) and highly expressed on malignant tumor cells, was connected to pOEI through PEG, and then the polymer was used for contracting a RNA nanospheres into nanopompons. | 5 | Carbon Storage Capacity of Different Plantation Types Under Sandstorm Source Control Program in Hebei Province, China显示文摘Afforestation and reforestation are effective and ecological ways of mitigating elevated atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO2) concentration and increasing carbon(C) storage in terrestrial ecosystems. In this study, we measured the above-ground(tree, herbaceous plants and litter) and below-ground(root and soil) C storage in an aspen plantation(Populus davidiana) monoculture(PD), a larch plantation(Larix pincipis-rupprechtii) monoculture(LP), a pine plantation(Pinus tabulaeformis) monoculture(PT), a larch and birch mixed plantation(L. pincipis-rupprechtii and Betula platyphlla mixed)(MLB), and an apricot plantation(Armeniaca sibirica) monoculture(AS) under the Desertification Combating Program in Hebei Province, the northern China. The objective was to assess the effect of afforestation species on ecosystem C pools of different plantation types. Results showed that C storage of LP stand(258.0 Mg/ha) and MLB(163.4 Mg/ha) were significantly higher than the C storage in PD(45.5 Mg/ha), PT(58.9 Mg/ha) and AS(49.4 Mg/ha), respectively. Soil C was the main carbon pool of the ecosystem C storage in the five plantation stands, ranging from 31.4 Mg/ha to 232.5 Mg/ha, which accounted for 69.0%–90.1% of the total ecosystem C storage. The C storage in tree layer was about 5.2%–23.2% of ecosystem C storage. The herbaceous plants and litter layers contained 1.0%–6.0% and 1.5%–3.3% of ecosystem C storage, respectively. | 6 | Cardiac fibroblast heat shock protein 47 aggravates cardiac fibrosis post myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury by encouraging ubiquitin specific peptidase 10 dependent Smad4 deubiquitination显示文摘Despite complications were significantly reduced due to the popularity of percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) in clinical trials, reperfusion injury and chronic cardiac remodeling significantly contribute to poor prognosis and rehabilitation in AMI patients. We revealed the effects of HSP47 on myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury(IRI) and shed light on the underlying molecular mechanism.We generated adult mice with lentivirus-mediated or miRNA(mi1/133TS)-aided cardiac fibroblastselective HSP47 overexpression. Myocardial IRI was induced by 45-min occlusion of the left anterior descending(LAD) artery followed by 24 h reperfusion in mice, while ischemia-mediated cardiac remodeling was induced by four weeks of reperfusion. Also, the role of HSP47 in fibrogenesis was evaluated in cardiac fibroblasts following hypoxia-reoxygenation(HR). Extensive HSP47 was observed in murine infarcted hearts, human ischemic hearts, and cardiac fibroblasts and accelerated oxidative stress and apoptosis after myocardial IRI. Cardiac fibroblast-selective HSP47 overexpression exacerbated cardiac dysfunction caused by chronic myocardial IRI and presented deteriorative fibrosis and cell proliferation.HSP47 upregulation in cardiac fibroblasts promoted TGFβ1-Smad4 pathway activation and Smad4 deubiquitination by recruiting ubiquitin-specific peptidase 10(USP10) in fibroblasts. However, cardiac fibroblast specific USP10 deficiency abolished HSP47-mediated fibrogenesis in hearts. Moreover, blockage of HSP47 with Col003 disturbed fibrogenesis in fibroblasts following HR. | 7 | Efficacy of Chaihu Jisang decoction on post-infection cough and its effect on cough reflex sensitivity显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To investigate the efficacy of Chaihu Ji Sang Decoction(CJSD),(a modification of Xiao Chaihu Tang(Minor Decoction of Bupleurum) was evaluated in patients with post-infection cough(PIC).Its effect on cough reflex sensitivity(CRS) was also described.METHODS:One hundred and eighteen patients with PIC were enrolled and randomly divided into an experimental group and control group(54 patients in each group).The experimental group was given CJSD orally,and the control group was given cetirizine hydrochloride for 7 d.Cough symptom scores and TCM symptom scores were compared before and after treatment.Efficacy,cough onset time,recurrence,and adverse drug reactions were additionally evaluated.Finally,CRS was evaluated before and after treatment of PIC patients in the experimental group.RESULTS:Fifty-two patients in the experimental group and fifty control patients completed the study.Cough symptom scores and the TCM symptom scores of the two groups were significantly improved after treatment,however cough symptoms in the experimental group 1(0,2) were significantly lower than the control group 2(1,2) after treatment(P < 0.05).Similarly,TCM symptom scores 4(0,7) in the experimental group were significantly lower than the control group 6(3,12)(P < 0.01).Overall,the effective rate of the experimental treatment(84.60%) was significantly higher than that of the control treatment(68.00%)(P < 0.01).The onset time of efficacy of the experimental treatment was one day faster than the control treatment [2(2,3) d vs 3(2,3) d,P < 0.01].The relapse rate in the experimental group(9.09%) was lower than that of the control group(29.41%)(P < 0.05).39 PIC patients in the experimental group completed a capsaicin cough challenge test before treatment.The lgC2 and lg C5 of the experimental group prior to treatment was 1.19(0.59,1.49) and 1.80(1.49,2.10),respectively.The lgC2,lg C5 of the healthy control group was 1.49(0.89,2.40) and 2.70(2.40,3.00),respectively.The differences in lgC2 and lg C5 between experimental group and healthy groups were significant at this time point(both P < 0.01).After treatment,34 patients in the experimental group received re-examination.lg C5 increased from 1.80(1.49,2.10) to 2.10(1.49,3.00).CRS after treatment/re-examination was significantly lower than those of baseline in the experimental group(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:CJSD could effectively improve the clinical symptoms of PIC patients,with demonstrable low recurrence and safety.CJSD also significantly decreased the CRS in patients with PIC. | Hong Minli Huang Baopei Hong Chunlin Chen Huinuan Chen Wenxi Liu Chaohui Li Xinjian Li Candong | 2018 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,4: | 2 |
| 8 | High VHL Expression Reverses Warburg Phenotype and Enhances Immunogenicity in Kidney Tumor Cells显示文摘Clear cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC)is a frequently occurring renal cancer.The Von Hippel-Lindau disease tumor suppressor VHL,a known tumor suppressor gene,is frequently mutated in about 50%of patients with ccRCC.However,it is unclear whether VHL influences the progression of ccRCC tumors expressing wild-type VHL.In the present study,we found that higher expression of VHL was correlated with the better disease-free survival(DFS)in ccRCC patients using The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA)datasets.We revealed that VHL overexpression in ccRCC cells inhibited epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT),sterol regulatory elementbinding protein 1(SREBP1)-regulated triglyceride synthesis,and cell proliferation.Proteomic analysis provided us a global view that VHL regulated four biological processes,including metabolism,immune regulation,apoptosis,and cell movement.Importantly,we found that VHL overexpression led to up-regulated expression of proteins associated with antigen processing and interferonresponsive proteins,thus rendering ccRCC cells more sensitive to interferon treatment.We defined an interferon-responsive signature(IRS)composed of ten interferon-responsive proteins,whose m RNA expression levels were positively correlated with DFS in ccRCC patients.Taken together,our results propose that the subset of ccRCC patients with high VHL expression benefit from immunotherapy. | Songbiao Zhu Wenxi Ding Yuling Chen Weixuan Wang Renhua Xu Chongdong Liu Xiaohui Liu Haiteng Deng | 2022 | Genomics, Proteomics & Bioinformatics2022,20,4: | 1 |
