History and possible mechanisms of prehistoric human migration to the Tibetan Plateau显示文摘Prehistoric human history on the Tibetan Plateau is a hotly debated topic. Archaeological research on the plateau during the past few decades has enormously improved our understanding of the topic and makes it possible for us to consider the processes and mechanisms of prehistoric human migration to the region. By reviewing the published archaeological research on the Tibetan Plateau, we propose that the first people on the plateau initially spread into the He-Huang region from the Chinese Loess Plateau, and then moved to the low elevation Northeastern Tibetan Plateau and perhaps subsequently to the entire plateau. This process consisted of four stages.(1) During the climatic amelioration of the Last Deglacial period(15–11.6 ka BP), Upper Paleolithic hunter-gatherers with a developed microlithic technology first spread into the Northeastern Tibetan Plateau.(2) In the early-mid Holocene(11.6–6 ka BP), Epipaleolithic microlithic hunter-gatherers were widely distributed on the northeastern plateau and spread southwards to the interior plateau, possibly with millet agriculture developed in the neighboring low elevation regions.(3) In the mid-late Holocene(6–4 ka BP), Neolithic millet farmers spread into low elevation river valleys in the northeastern and southeastern plateau areas.(4) In the late Holocene(4–2.3 ka BP), Bronze Age barley and wheat farmers further settled on the high elevation regions of the Tibetan Plateau, especially after 3.6 ka BP. Finally, we suggest that all of the reported Paleolithic sites earlier than the LGM on the Tibetan Plateau need further examination. | ZHANG DongJu DONG GuangHui WANG Hui REN XiaoYan HA PiPu'u QIANG MingRui CHEN FaHui | 2016 | Science China Earth Sciences2016,59,9: | 20

Rational use of mesenchymal stem cells in the treatment of autism spectrum disorders显示文摘Autism and autism spectrum disorders(ASD) refer to a range of conditions characterized by impaired social and communication skills and repetitive behaviors caused by different combinations of genetic and environmental influences. Although the pathophysiology underlying ASD is still unclear, recent evidence suggests that immune dysregulation and neuroinflammation play a role in the etiology of ASD. In particular, there is direct evidence supporting a role for maternal immune activation during prenatal life in neurodevelopmental conditions. Currently, the available options of behavioral therapies and pharmacological and supportive nutritional treatments in ASD are only symptomatic. Given the disturbing rise in the incidence of ASD, and the fact that there is no effective pharmacological therapy for ASD, there is an urgent need for new therapeutic options. Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) possess immunomodulatory properties that make them relevant to several diseases associated with inflammation and tissue damage. The paracrine regenerative mechanisms of MSCs are also suggested to be therapeutically beneficial for ASD.Thus the underlying pathology in ASD, including immune system dysregulation and inflammation, represent potential targets for MSC therapy. This review willfocus on immune dysfunction in the pathogenesis of ASD and will further discuss the therapeutic potential for MSCs in mediating ASD-related immunological disorders. | Qiang Liu Mo-Xian Chen Lin Sun Chloe U Wallis Jian-Song Zhou Li-Juan Ao Qi Li Pak C Sham | 2019 | World Journal of Stem Cells2019,11,2: | 5
Nanosecond photoelectric effects in all-oxide p-n junction of La_(0.9)Sr_(0.1)MnO_(3)/SrNb_(0.01)Ti_(0.99)O_(3)显示文摘Nanosecond (ns) photoelectric effects have been observed in all-oxide p-n junctions of La0.9Sr0.1MnO3/SrNb0.01Ti0.99O3 for the first time. The rise time was about 23 ns and the full width at half maximum was about 125 ns for the open-circuit photovoltaic pulse when the La0.9Sr0.1MnO3 thin film in the p-n junction was irradiated by a laser of ~20 ns pulse duration and 308 nm wavelength. The photovoltaic sensitivity was 80 mV/mJ for a 308 nm laser pulse. | HUANG Yanhong L(U) Huibin HE Meng ZHAO Kun CHEN Zhenghao CHENG Bolin ZHOU Yueliang JIN Kuijuan DAI Shouyu YANG Guozhen | 2005 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2005,48,3: | 4
Increased circulating level of interleukin-6 and CD8+T cell exhaustion are associated with progression of COVID-19显示文摘Background: Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)is pandemic. It is critical to identify COVID-19 patients who are most likely to develop a severe disease. This study was designed to determine the clinical and epidemiological features of COVID-19 patients associated with the development of pneumonia and factors associated with disease progression.Methods:: Seventy consecutive patients with etiologically confirmed COVID-19 admitted to PLA General Hospital in Beijing,China from December 27,2019 to March 12,2020 were enrolled in this study and followed-up to March 16,2020.Differences in clinical and laboratory findings between COVID-19 patients with pneumonia and those without were determined by theχ2 test or the Fisher exact test(categorical variables)and independent group t test or Mann–Whitney U test(continuous variables). The Cox proportional hazard model and Generalized Estimating Equations were applied to evaluate factors that predicted the progression of COVID-19.Results: The mean incubation was 8.67(95%confidence interval,6.78–10.56)days.Mean duration from the first test severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2-positive to conversion was 11.38(9.86–12.90)days.Compared to pneumonia-free patients, pneumonia patients were 16.5 years older and had higher frequencies of having hypertension, fever, and cough and higher circulating levels of neutrophil proportion,interleukin-6,low count(<190/µl)of CD8+T cells, and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio.Thirteen patients deteriorated during hospitalization.Cox regression analysis indicated that older age and higher serum levels of interleukin-6,C-reactive protein, procalcitonin, and lactate at admission significantly predicted the progression of COVID-19.During hospitalization, circulating counts of T lymphocytes,CD4+T cells, and CD8+T cells were lower, whereas neutrophil proportion,neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio, and the circulating levels of interleukin-6,C-reactive protein, and procalcitonin were higher,in pneumonia patients than in pneumonia-free patients.CD8+lymphocyte count in pneumonia patients did not recover when discharged. Conclusions: Older age and higher levels of C-reactive protein,procalcitionin,interleukin-6,and lactate might predict COVID-19 progression.T lymphocyte, especially CD8+cell-mediated immunity is critical in recovery of COVID-19.This study may help in predicting disease progression and designing immunotherapy for COVID-19. | Peng-Hui Yang Yi-Bo Ding Zhe Xu Rui Pu Ping U Jin Yan Ji-Luo Liu Fan-Ping Meng Lei Huang Lei Shi Tian-Jun Jiang En-Qiang Qin Min Zhao Da-Wei Zhang Peng Zhao Ling-Xiang Yu Zhao-Hai Wang Zhi-Xian Hong Zhao-Hui Xiao Qing Xi De-Xi Zhao Peng Yu Cai-Zhong Zhu Zhu Chen Shao-Geng Zhang Jun-Sheng Ji Fu-Sheng Wang Guang-Wen Cao | 2020 | Infectious Diseases of Poverty2020,9,6: | 3
Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. It was designed to perform pointing, scanning and gamma-ray burst(GRB)observations and, based on the Direct Demodulation Method (DDM), the image of the scanned sky region can be reconstructed. Here we give an overview of the mission and its progresses, including payload, core sciences, ground calibration/facility, ground segment, data archive, software, in-orbit performance, calibration, background model, observations and some preliminary results. | Shuang-Nan Zhang TiPei Li FangJun Lu LiMing Song YuPeng X u CongZhan Liu Yong Chen XueLei Cao QingCui Bu Zhi Chang Gang Chen Li Chen TianXiang Chen YiBao Chen YuPeng Chen Wei Cui WeiWei Cui JingKang Deng YongWei Dong Yuan Yuan Du MinXue Fu GuanHua Gao He Gao Min Gao MingYu Ge YuDong Gu Ju Guan Can Gungor ChengCheng Guo DaWei Han Wei Hu Yue Huang Jia Huo ShuMei Jia LuHua Jiang WeiChun Jiang Jing Jin YongJie Jin Bing Li ChengKui Li Gang Li MaoShun Li Wei Li Xian Li XiaoBo Li XuFang Li YanGuo Li ZiJian Li ZhengWei Li XiaoHua Liang JinYuan Liao GuoQing Liu HongWei Liu ShaoZhen Liu XiaoJing Liu Yuan Liu YiNong Liu Bo Lu XueFeng Lu Tao Luo Xiang Ma Bin Meng Yi Nang JianYin Nie Ge Ou JinLu Qu Na Sai RenCheng Shang GuoHong Shen Liang Sun Ying Tan Lian Tao YouLi Tuo Chen Wang ChunQin Wang GuoFeng Wang HuanYu Wang Juan Wang WenShuai Wang YuSa Wang XiangYang Wen BaiYang Wu BoBing Wu Mei Wu GuangCheng Xiao ShaoLin Xiong LinLi Yan JiaWei Yang Sheng Yang YanJi Yang QiBin Yi Bin Yuan AiMei Zhang ChunLei Zhang ChengMo Zhang Fan Zhang HongMei Zhang Juan Zhang Qiang Zhang ShenYi Zhangs Shu Zhang Tong Zhang WanChang Zhang Wei Zhang WenZhao Zhang Yi Zhang YiFei Zhang YongJie Zhang Yue Zhang Zhao Zhang Zhi Zhang ZiLiang Zhang HaiSheng Zhao XiaoFan Zhao ShiJie Zheng JianFeng Zhou YuXuan Zhu Yue Zhu RenLin Zhuang | 2020 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2020,63,4: | 2
