1Using a mesoscale ensemble to predict forecast error and perform targeted observation显示文摘Using NCEP short range ensemble forecast(SREF)system,demonstrated two fundamental on-going evolutions in numerical weather prediction(NWP)are through ensemble methodology.One evolution is the shift from traditional single-value deterministic forecast to flow-dependent(not statistical)probabilistic forecast to address forecast uncertainty.Another is from a one-way observation-prediction system shifting to an interactive two-way observation-prediction system to increase predictability of a weather system.In the first part,how ensemble spread from NCEP SREF predicting ensemble-mean forecast error was evaluated over a period of about a month.The result shows that the current capability of predicting forecast error by the 21-member NCEP SREF has reached to a similar or even higher level than that of current state-of-the-art NWP models in predicting precipitation,e.g.,the spatial correlation between ensemble spread and absolute forecast error has reached 0.5 or higher at 87 h(3.5 d)lead time on average for some meteorological variables.This demonstrates that the current operational ensemble system has already had preliminary capability of predicting the forecast error with usable skill,which is a remarkable achievement as of today.Given the good spread-skill relation,the probability derived from the ensemble was also statistically reliable,which is the most important feature a useful probabilistic forecast should have.The second part of this research tested an ensemble-based interactive targeting(E-BIT)method.Unlike other mathematically-calculated objective approaches,this method is subjective or human interactive based on information from an ensemble of forecasts.A numerical simulation study was performed to eight real atmospheric cases with a 10-member,bred vector-based mesoscale ensemble using the NCEP regional spectral model(RSM,a sub-component of NCEP SREF)to prove the concept of this E-BIT method.The method seems to work most effective for basic atmospheric state variables,moderately effective for convective instabilities and least effective for precipitations.Precipitation is a complex result of many factors and,therefore,a more challenging field to be improved by targeted observation.DU Jun LI Jun YU Rucong CUI Chunguang 2014Acta Oceanologica Sinica2014,33,1:7
2HPLC–MS and HPLC–MS/MS analysis of seven active constituents of Xiao-Xu-Ming decoction and application to a pharmacokinetic study after oral administration to rat显示文摘Xiao-xu-ming decoction(XXMD)is a traditional Chinese medicine that has been widely used to treat theoplegia and its sequelae.This paper reports the development of three separate assays based on reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry(HPLC–MS)and HPLC–MS/MS for the determination of seven active constituents of XXMD viz oroxylin A-7-O-glucuronide,wogonoside,liquiritigenin,cimifugin,5-O-methylvisammiol,glycyrrhizic acid and glycyrrhetinic acid in rat plasma.All calibration curves were linear(r >0.99)with lower limits of quantitation(LLOQs)<12.4 ng/mL.Intra-and inter-day precisions(as relative standard deviation)were all <10.7% with recoveries in the range of 88.7–113%.In addition,the seven analytes were shown to be stable in rat plasma samples under relevant storage conditions.The validated methods were successfully applied to a pharmacokinetic study in rat after oral administration of XXMD.Yilin Wang Chunguang Ding Caisheng Wu Kehe Du Jinlan Zhangn Hailin Qin Jinfeng Hou Guanhua Du 2012Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2012,2,2:6
3Polyconchoecia commixtus gen. et sp. nov. (Ostracoda: Myodocopa: Halocyprididae) from the South China Sea显示文摘Planktonic ostracods are small crustaceans abundant in marine ecosystem worldwide as appreciable part of marine zooplankton.Family Halocyprididae is a large group of halocyprid ostracods,and the tribe Conchoeciini has contained 21 genera previously.We described a further genus with a species Polyconchoecia commixtus gen.et sp.nov.from the middle of South China Sea in this study.The new species can be distinguished from related genera and species in having a unique combination of these characteristics:a lateral gland placed over right asymmetric gland and open near posterior margin;dense edge glands placed along ventral margin of carapace in line;shape of frontal organ;e-seta of first antenna is bare;endopod of second antenna has one small oval hump with central concave on mid-ventral margin,instead of processus mamillaris,exopod 1 has a small disto-dorsal spine,exopod 1 and 2 are fused,exopod 3 and 4 are bare;endopod 1 of mandible has one long ventral seta,endopod 2 has one ventral seta;maxillary endopod 1 has two basal setae;endopod 1 of fifth limb has only one ventral seta;endopod 1 of sixth limb and endopod 2 have no ventral seta.The definite distinctions in locations of major glands are the key characteristics of the new genus.DU Feiyan XIANG Peng CHEN Ruixiang WANG Lianggen WANG Yu WANG Chunguang LIN Mao 2018Acta Oceanologica Sinica2018,37,10:1
4Systematical analysis of sludge treatment and disposal technologies for carbon footprint reduction显示文摘This study aims to comprehensively analyze the Greenhouse Gases(GHGs)emissions from current sewage sludge treatment and disposal technologies(buildingmaterial,landfill,land spreading,anaerobic digestion,and thermochemical processes)based on the database of Science Citation Index(SCI)and Social Science Citation Index(SSCI)from 1998 to 2020.The general patterns,spatial distribution,and hotspotswere provided by bibliometric analysis.A comparative quantitative analysis based on life cycle assessment(LCA)put forward the current emission situation and the key influencing factors of different technologies.The effective GHG emissions reduction methods were proposed to mitigate climate change.Results showed that incineration or building materials manufacturing of highly dewatered sludge,and land spreading after anaerobic digestion have the best GHG emissions reduction benefits.Biological treatment technologies and thermochemical processes have great potential for reducing GHGs.Enhancement of pretreatment effect,co-digestion,and newtechnologies(e.g.,injection of carbon dioxide,directional acidification)are major approaches to facilitate substitution emissions in sludge anaerobic digestion.The relationship between the quality and efficiency of secondary energy in thermochemical process and GHGs emission still needs further study.Solid sludge products generated by bio-stabilization or thermochemical processes are considered to have a certain carbon sequestration value and can improve the soil environment to control GHG emissions.The findings are useful for future development and processes selection of sludge treatment and disposal facing carbon footprint reduction.Yingxin Zhao Zhifan Yang Jiaojiao Niu Zihan Du Conti Federica Zhe Zhu Kaichao Yang Yan Li Baofeng Zhao Thomas Helmer Pedersen Chunguang Liu Mutabazi Emmanuel 2023Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,6:1

8Dynamics and entanglement of a membrane-in-the-middle optomechanical system in the extremely-large-amplitude regime显示文摘The study of optomechanical systems has attracted much attention, most of which are concentrated in the physics in the smallamplitude regime. While in this article, we focus on optomechanics in the extremely-large-amplitude regime and consider both classical and quantum dynamics. Firstly, we study classical dynamics in a membrane-in-the-middle optomechanical system in which a partially reflecting and flexible membrane is suspended inside an optical cavity. We show that the membrane can present self-sustained oscillations with limit cycles in the shape of sawtooth-edged ellipses and exhibit dynamical multistability. Then, we study the dynamics of the quantum fluctuations around the classical orbits. By using the logarithmic negativity, we calculate the evolution of the quantum entanglement between the optical cavity mode and the membrane during the mechanical oscillation. 9Theoretical study on stability and nonlinear optical properties of tetrahydropyrrole diradical and its isoelectronic systems in different electronic states显示文摘The polarizabilities and hyperpolarizabilities of the tetrahydropyrrole diradical in different electronic states have been investigated using ab initio and density functional theory(DFT) methods combined with the finite field(FF) approach.The polarizability average value αs is a maximum for the singlet state,while that for the closed-shell is a minimum.The trend in second hyperpolarizability average value γ is in good agreement with that for αs.The γ values of the singlet and triplet states are,respectively,about 3 and 2 times larger than that of the closed-shell.The order of the first hyperpolarizability total effective value βtot is βtot(closed-shell) > βtot(singlet) > βtot(triplet).The αs,βtot,and γ values of different electronic states obtained using the B3LYP and MP4SDQ methods are close to those obtained using the reliable CCSD method.The nonlinear optical(NLO) properties of two systems isoelectronic with the tetrahydropyrrole diradical - cyclopentane and tetrahydrofuran diradicals - show that the polarizabilities and hyperpolarizabilities of these systems are all smaller than those of the tetrahydropyrrole diradical in the three electronic states.SUN XiaoNa QIU YongQing SUN ShiLing LIU ChunGuang DU YanQing SU ZhongMin 2011Science China Chemistry2011,54,7:0

12Strong in-plane optical anisotropy in 2D van der Waals antiferromagnet VOCl显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)van der Waals(vdW)magnetic materials with strong in-plane anisotropy can make possible novel applications such as optospintronics and strain sensors.In this work,the strong in-plane optical anisotropy in 2D vdW antiferromagnet VOCl has been systematically investigated.The optical brightness and absorption coefficient exhibit evident periodic variation with the change of incident polarization,unveiling the strong in-plane anisotropic optical absorption.The Raman intensity in this material shows obvious dependence on the polarization angle of incident laser,demonstrating that the phonon properties possess strong in-plane anisotropy.Besides,we have also realized in-situ visualization of in-plane optical reflection anisotropy in this material.Moreover,the strong second harmonic generation(SHG)signal can only be detected when the incident polarization is along specific in-plane crystal orientations,illustrating the presence of strong in-plane nonlinear optical anisotropy.These findings will benefit the applications of VOCl in the field of polarization-dependent electronics and spintronics.Tianle Zhang Jiantao Du Wenjun Wang Keming Wu Shuai Yue Xinfeng Liu Wanfu Shen Chunguang Hu Minghui Wu Zhe Qu Shengxue Yang Chengbao Jiang 2023Nano Research2023,16,5:0
13Optimization of Key Predistribution Protocol Based on Supernetworks Theory in Heterogeneous WSN显示文摘This work develops an equilibrium model for finding the optimal distribution strategy to maximize performance of key predistribution protocols in terms of cost, resilience, connectivity, and lifetime. As an essential attribute of wireless sensor networks, heterogeneity and its impacts on random key predistribution protocols are first discussed. Using supernetworks theory, the optimal node deployment model is proposed and illustrated. In order to find the equilibrium performance of our model, all optimal performance functions are changed into variational inequalities so that this optimization problem can be solved. 15Genome resources for the elite bread wheat cultivar Aikang 58 and mining of elite homeologous haplotypes for accelerating wheat improvement显示文摘Despite recent progress in crop genomics studies,the genomic changes brought about by modern breeding selection are still poorly understood,thus hampering genomics-assisted breeding,especially in polyploid crops with compound genomes such as common wheat(Triticum aestivum).In this work,we constructed genome resources for the modern elite common wheat variety Aikang 58(AK58).Comparative genomics between AK58 and the landrace cultivar Chinese Spring(CS)shed light on genomic changes that occurred through recent varietal improvement.We also explored subgenome diploidization and divergence in common wheat and developed a homoeologous locus-based genome-wide association study(HGWAS)approach,which was more effective than single homoeolog-based GWAS in unraveling agronomic trait-associated loci.A total of 123 major HGWAs loci were detected using a genetic population derived from AK58 and cs.Elite homoeologous haplotypes(HHs),formed by combinations of subgenomic homoeologs of the associated loci,were found in both parents and progeny,and many could substantially improve wheat yield and related traits.We built a website where users can download genome assembly sequence and annotation data for AK58,perform blast analysis,and run JBrowse.Our work enriches genome resources for wheat,provides new insights into genomic changes during modern wheat improve-.ment,and suggests that efficientmining of elite HHs can make a substantial contribuutionto genomics-assisted breeding in common wheat and other polyploid crops.Jizeng Jia Guangyao Zhao Danping Li Kai Wang Chuizheng Kong Pingchuan Deng Xueqing Yan Xueyong Zhang Zefu Lu Shujuan Xu Yuannian Jiao Kang Chong Xu Liu Dangqun Cui Guangwei Li Yijing Zhang Chunguang Du Liang Wu Tianbao Li Dong Yan Kehui Zhan Feng Chen Zhiyong Wang Lichao Zhang Xiuying Kong Zhengang Ru Daowen Wang Lifeng Gao 2023Molecular Plant2023,16,12:0
