1Nitrogen-doped graphene nanosheets as high efficient catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘It is of great significance in exploring alternative catalysts to platinum (Pt)-based materials for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR),because this reaction is invariably involved in various fuel cells and metal-air batteries.We herein reported the nitrogen doped graphene nanosheets (NGNSs) with pore volume of as high as 3.42 m 3 /g and investigated their potential application as ORR catalysts,it was demonstrated the NGNSs featured high activity,improved kinetics and excellent long-term stability for ORR.The NGNSs were successfully used as cathode catalysts of microbial fuel cells (MFCs) and performed even better than the commercial Pt/C (Pt 10%) catalysts at the maximum power output.CI SuQin WU YongMin ZOU JianPing TANG LongHua LUO ShengLian LI JingHong WEN ZhenHai 2012Chinese Science Bulletin2012,57,23:7

7Pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma of the spermatic cord and a secondary hydrocele testis:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Pleomorphic rhabdomyosarcoma(RMS)of the spermatic cord is a group of rare neoplasms,and a secondary hydrocele testis occasionally occurs.The misdiagnosis of paratesticular mass may lead to a therapeutic delay.CASE SUMMARY A 79-year-old man presented to our clinic complaining of a 1-mo history of painless scrotal swelling.Physical examination revealed approximately a 15 cm×10 cm×5 cm inguinal mass with limited mobility.Contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging showed a hydrocele testis,several enlarged inguinal lymph nodes,and a heterogeneously enhanced lesion with a relatively well-defined margin in the left inguinal region.Due to the imaging findings,he was diagnosed with pleomorphic RMS and received a wide resection of the mass,an inguinal incision with a high section of the left spermatic cord,and a left radical orchiectomy.He experienced local relapse 1 mo postoperatively and received radiotherapy and anlotinib hydrochloride-based immunotherapy as adjuvant therapy.The patient died 3 mo after the surgery.CONCLUSION The optimal interventions for advanced-stage pleomorphic RMS patients should be investigated by more preclinical studies and clinical trials.Physicians need to be aware of the occurrence of pleomorphic RMS in unusual locations,especially when accompanied by a hydrocele testis.Xin Chen Ci Zou Chao Yang Liang Gao Liang-Kuan Bi Dong-Dong Xie De-Xin Yu 2020World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,12:1
8Transmission risk of asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection:a systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Background:Global evidence on the transmission of asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection needs to be synthesized.Methods:A search of 4 electronic databases(PubMed,EMBASE,Cochrane Library,and Web of Science databases)as of January 24,2021 was performed.Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)guidelines were followed.Studies which reported the transmission rate among close contacts with asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 cases were included,and transmission activities occurred were considered.The trans-mission rates were pooled by zero-inflated beta distribution.The risk ratios(RRs)were calculated using random-effects models.Results:Of 4923 records retrieved and reviewed,15 studies including 3917 close contacts with asymptomatic indexes were eligible.The pooled transmission rates were 1.79 per 100 person-days(or 1.79%,95%confidence interval[CI]0.41%-3.16%)by asymptomatic index,which is significantly lower than by presymptomatic(5.02%,95%CI 2.37%-7.66%;p<0.001),and by symptomatic(5.27%,95%CI 2.40%-8.15%;p<0.001).Subgroup anal-yses showed that the household transmission rate of asymptomatic index was(4.22%,95%CI 0.91%-7.52%),four times significantly higher than non-household transmission(1.03%,95%CI 0.73%-1.33%;p=0.03),and the asymptomatic transmission rate in China(1.82%,95%CI 0.11%-3.53%)was lower than in other countries(2.22%,95%CI 0.67%-3.77%;p=0.01).Conclusions:People with asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection are at risk of transmitting the virus to their close contacts,particularly in household settings.The transmission potential of asymptomatic infection is lower than symptomatic and presymptomatic infections.This meta-analysis provides evidence for predict-ing the epidemic trend and promulgating vaccination and other control measures.Registered with PROS-PERO International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews,CRD42021269446;https://www.crd.york.ac.uk/prospero/display_record.php?RecordID=269446.Ci Zhang Chao Zhou Wanqing Xu Shimin Zheng Yanxiao Gao Peiqi Li Luojia Deng Xuezhixing Zhang Qianxue Jiang Frank Qian Xianhong Li Honghong Wang Huachun Zou Yinglin Xia Tao Wang Hui Lu Han-Zhu Qian 2023Infectious Medicine2023,2,1:0
