1DeST 3.0:A new-generation building performance simulation platform显示文摘Buildings contribute to almost 30%of total energy consumption worldwide.Developing building energy modeling programs is of great significance for lifecycle building performance assessment and optimization.Advances in novel building technologies,the requirements of high-performance computation,and the demands for multi-objective models have brought new challenges for building energy modeling software and platforms.To meet the increasing simulation demands,DeST 3.0,a new-generation building performance simulation platform,was developed and released.The structure of DeST 3.0 incorporates four simulation engines,including building analysis and simulation(BAS)engine,HVAC system engine,combined plant simulation(CPS)engine,and energy system(ES)engine,connected by air loop and water loop balancing iterations.DeST 3.0 offers numerous new simulation features,such as advanced simulation modules for building envelopes,occupant behavior and energy systems,cross-platform and compatible simulation kernel,FMI/FMU-based co-simulation functionalities,and high-performance parallel simulation architecture.DeST 3.0 has been thoroughly evaluated and validated using code verification,inter-program comparison,and case-study calibration.DeST 3.0 has been applied in various aspects throughout the building lifecycle,supporting building design,operation,retrofit analysis,code appliance,technology adaptability evaluation as well as research and education.The new generation building simulation platform DeST 3.0 provides an efficient tool and comprehensive simulation platform for lifecycle building performance analysis and optimization.Da Yan Xin Zhou Jingjing An Xuyuan Kang Fan Bu Youming Chen Yiqun Pan Yan Gao Qunli Zhang Hui Zhou Kuining Qiu Jing Liu Yan Liu Honglian Li Lei Zhang Hong Dong Lixin Sun Song Pan Xiang Zhou Zhe Tian Wenjie Zhang Ruhong Wu Hongsan Sun Yu Huang Xiaohong Su Yongwei Zhang Rui Shen Diankun Chen Guangyuan Wei Yixing Chen Jinqing Peng 2022Building Simulation2022,15,11:5
2Melatonin alleviates alcoholic liver disease via EGFR-BRG1-TERT axis regulation显示文摘Chronic alcohol consumption causes liver steatosis,cell death,and inflammation.Melatonin(MLT)is reported to alleviate alcoholic liver disease(ALD)-induced injury.However,its direct regulating targets in hepatocytes are not fully understood.In the current study,a cell-based screening model and a chronic ethanol-fed mice ALD model were used to test the protective mechanisms of MLT.MLT ameliorated ethanol-induced hepatocyte injury in both cell and animal models(optimal doses of 10μmol/L and 5 mg/kg,respectively),including lowered liver steatosis,cell death,and inflammation.RNA-seq analysis and loss-of-function studies in AML-12 cells revealed that telomerase reverse transcriptase(TERT)was a key downstream effector of MLT.Biophysical assay found that epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)on the hepatocyte surface was a direct binding and regulating target of MLT.Liver specific knock-down of Tert or Egfr in the ALD mice model impaired MLT-mediated liver protection,partly through the regulation of nuclear brahma-related gene-1(BRG1).Long-term administration(90 days)of MLT in healthy mice did not cause evident adverse effect.In conclusion,MLT is an efficacious and safe agent for ALD alleviation.Its direct regulating target in hepatocytes is EGFR and downstream BRG1-TERT axis.MLT might be used as a complimentary agent for alcoholics.Zhaodi Che Yali Song Chengfang Xu Wei Li Zhiyong Dong Cunchuan Wang Yixing Ren Kwok-Fai So George L.Tipoe Fei Wang Jia Xiao 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,1:2

5Stiffness and toughness of soft/stiff suture joints in biological composites显示文摘Biological composites can overcome the conflict between strength and toughness to achieve unprecedented mechanical properties in engineering materials.The suture joint,as a kind of heterogeneous architecture widely existing in biological tissues,is crucial to connect dissimilar components and to attain a tradeoff of all-sided functional performances.Therefore,the suture joints have attracted many researchers to theoretically investigate their mechanical response.However,most of the previous models focus on the sutural interface between two chemically similar stiff phases with(or without)a thin adhesive layer,which are under the framework of linear elasticity and small deformation.Here,a general model based on the finite deformation framework is proposed to explore the stiffness and toughness of chemically dissimilar suture joints connecting soft and stiff phases.Uniaxial tension tests are conducted to investigate the tensile response of the suture joints,and finite element simulations are implemented to explore the underlying mechanisms,considering both material nonlinearity and cohesive properties of the interface.Two failure modes are quantitively captured by our model.The stored elastic energy in the soft phase competes with the energy dissipation due to the interface debonding,which controls the transition among different failure modes.The toughness of the suture joints depends on not only the intrinsic strengths of the constituent materials and their cohesive strength,but also the interfacial geometry.This work provides the structureproperty relationships of the soft/stiff suture joints and gives a foundational guidance of mechanical design towards high-performance bioinspired composites.Dong WU Yixing HUANG Ming LEI Zeang ZHAO Xiaogang GUO Daining FANG 2022Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2022,43,10:0
