| 1 | Study and use of the probiotic Lactobacillus reuteri in pigs:a review显示文摘Probiotics are living microorganisms that provide a wide variety of health benefits to the host when ingested in adequate amounts.The bacterial strains most frequently used as probiotic agents are lactic acid bacteria,such as Lactobacillus reuteri,which is one of the few endogenous Lactobacillus species found in the gastrointestinal tract of vertebrates,including humans,rats,pigs and chickens.L reuteri is one of the most well documented probiotic species and has been widely utilized as a probiotic in humans and animals for many years.Initially,L reuteri was used in humans to reduce the incidence and the severity of diarrhea,prevent colic and necrotic enterocolitis,and maintain a functional mucosal barrier.As interest in alternatives to in-feed antibiotics has grown in recent years,some evidence has emerged that probiotics may promote growth,improve the efficiency of feed utilization,prevent diarrhea,and regulate the immune system in pigs.In this review,the characteristics of L reuteri are described,in order to update the evidence on the efficacy of using L.reuteri in pigs. | Chengli Hou Xiangfang Zeng Fengjuan Yang Hong Liu Shiyan Qiao | 2016 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2016,7,1: | 19 |

| 4 | Extraction Process Optimization and Moisturizing Performance of Fucoidan from Sargassum fusiforme显示文摘[Objectives] The research aimed to optimize extraction process of fucoidan from Sargassum fusiforme( FSF) and study its moisturizing performance. [Methods]Extracting condition of FSF by cellulase hydrolysis-ultrasonic assisted extraction method was optimized. The influences of solvent p H,enzyme dosage,extraction temperature,cellulose hydrolysis time,ultrasonication time,and the ratio of material to liquid on FSF were investigated by single factor and orthogonal experiments. [Results] The optimum extraction conditions were as followings:p H,4. 5; enzyme dosage,1%; extraction temperature,40℃; cellulose hydrolysis time,2 h; ultrasonic time,15 min; and the ratio of material to liquid,1∶ 10( g∶ m L). Under the optimal condition,the extraction yield of FSF was 8. 50%,RSD = 2. 74%. The short-time hygroscopicity( within 8 h) of crude extract of fucoidan from S. fusiforme( CEFSF) was better than glycerin,butanediol,and sodium alginate,and the moisture retention capacity of 1% CEFSF aqueous solution was better than 1% butanediol or 1% sodium alginate,and was equal to 5% glycerin under relative humidity of 43% and 81%. The determination results of skin moisture content and transepidermal water loss rate( TEWL)showed that: 5% CEFSF solution had good moisturizing effect. | 9 | Use of Real- time RT-PCR Analysis for mRNA Expression of Tobacco Ferritin Gene (NtFer1)显示文摘To understand the use of real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (real-time RT-PCR) for detecting the relative abundance of mRNA, the expression of a tobacco ferritin gene (NtFer1) was detected by Northern blot and real-time RT-PCR. The results indicated that both of the two methods were able to detect mRNA expression of NtFer1 clearly and similarly, namely NtFer1 expression was responsive to iron-overload, and the abundance of NtFer1 mRNA was greatly increased after iron loaded for 6 h. To compare the effect and sensitivity of two methods, results revealed that Northern blot need 30 ?滋g of total RNA and at least 3 days for the total protocol performance, whereas real-time RT-PCR only need 2 ?滋g of total RNA and 1.5 h. The real-time RT-PCR is rather sensitive and effective than Northern blot. | 17 | RNA-sequencing analysis reveals novel genes involved in the different peel color formation in eggplant显示文摘Eggplant(Solanum melongena L.)is a highly nutritious vegetable.Here,the molecular mechanism of color formation in eggplants was determined using six eggplant cultivars with different peel colors and two SmMYB113-overexpressing transgenic eggplants with a purple peel and pulp.Significant differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified by RNA-sequencing analysis using the following criteria:log2(sample1/sample2)≥0.75 and q-value≤0.05.Two analytical strategies were used to identify genes related to the different peel color according to the peel color,flavonoids content,delphinidins/flavonoids ratio,and the content of anthocyanins.Finally,27 novel genes were identified to be related to the color difference among eggplant peels and 32 novel genes were identified to be related to anthocyanin biosynthesis and regulated by SmMYB113.Venn analysis revealed that SmCytb5,SmGST,SmMATE,SmASAT3,and SmF3′5’M were shared among both sets of novel genes.Transient expression assay in tobacco suggested that these five genes were not sufficient for inducing anthocyanin biosynthesis alone,but they play important roles in anthocyanin accumulation in eggplant peels.Yeast one-hybrid,electrophoretic mobility shift assay and dual-luciferase assays indicated that the expression of the five genes could be directly activated by SmMYB113 protein.Finally,a regulatory model for the mechanism of color formation in eggplant was proposed.Overall,the results of this study provide useful information that enhances our understanding of the molecular mechanism underlying the different color formation in eggplant. | Jing Li Senlin Jiang Guobin Yang Yanwei Xu Lujun Li Fengjuan Yang | 2023 | Horticulture Research2023,10,10: | 0 |
| 18 | Adipose-derived stem cells show hepatic differentiation potential and therapeutic effect in rats with acute liver failure显示文摘Hepatocyte transplantation contributes to the repair of liver damage,but hepatocyte resources are limited,making it difficult for this to become a routine treatment.Previous studies have confirmed that mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)can be induced to differentiate into hepatocyte-like cells(HLCs)by adding different cytokine combinations in vitro,and they then play some roles of hepatocytes.Our previous studies found that the differentiation ability of stem cells is closely related to the origin of the tissue.To identify the mesenchymal stem cells that are most suitable for hepatic differentiation and the treatment of liver failure,we use a three-phase induction process in which human adipose-derived stem cells(hADSCs)and umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells(hUCMSCs)are induced to differentiate towards HLCs in vitro,and rats with acute liver failure(ALF)induced by D-gal are cured by MSCs and MSC-derived HLCs(MSCs-HLC),respectively.We find that hADSCs are stronger than hUCMSCs in hepatic differentiation ability,and they have a better curative effect when using hADSCs-HLC or jointly using hADSCs and hADSCs-HLC,which has positive significance for hepatocyte regeneration,recovery of liver function and reduction of systemic inflammatory reaction,finally improving the survival rate of rats with acute liver failure. | Yinpeng Jin Rongfeng Shi Tangkai Qi Qiang Li Cong Chen Shane Gao Fengjuan Gao Danjing Yang Guangxi Sun Jianqing Xu Qingchun Fu Jun Xu Xiaoyan Zhang | 2023 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,4: | 0 |
