| 2 | Monitoring urban land cover and vegetation change by multi-temporal remote sensing information显示文摘In order to analyze changes in human settlement in Xuzhou city during the past 20 years, changes in land cover and vegetation were investigated based on multi-temporal remote sensing Landsat TM images. We developed a hierarchical classifier system that uses different feature inputs for specific classes and conducted a classification post-processing approach to improve its accuracy. From our statistical analysis of changes in urban land cover from 1987 to 2007, we conclude that built-up land areas have obviously increased, while farmland has seen in a continuous loss due to urban growth and human activities. A NDVI difference approach was used to extract information on changes in vegetation. A false change information elimination approach was developed based on prior knowledge and statistical analysis. The areas of vegetation cover have been in continuous decline over the past 20 years, although some measures have been adopted to protect and maintain urban vegetation. | 3 | A review of the most recent progresses of state-of-art gallium oxide power devices显示文摘Until very recently, gallium oxide(Ga_2O_3) has aroused more and more interests in the area of power electronics due to its ultra-wide bandgap of 4.5–4.8 eV, estimated critical field of 8 MV/cm and decent intrinsic electron mobility limit of250 cm2/(V·s), yielding a high Baliga's figures-of-merit(FOM) of more than 3000, which is several times higher than GaN and SiC.In addition to its excellent material properties, potential low-cost and large size substrate through melt-grown methodology also endows β-Ga_2O_3 more potential for future low-cost power devices. This article focuses on reviewing the most recent advances ofβ-Ga_2O_3 based power devices. It will be starting with a brief introduction to the material properties of β-Ga_2O_3 and then the growth techniques of its native substrate, followed by the thin film epitaxial growth. The performance of state-of-art β-Ga_2O_3 devices, including diodes and FETs are fully discussed and compared. | 6 | Activation of Toll-like receptors signaling in non-small cell lung cancer cell line induced by tumor-associated macrophages显示文摘Background:Inflammation is often linked with the progress and poor outcome of lung cancer.The understanding of the relationship between tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs) and lung cancer cells involves in the underlying mechanism of inflammatory cytokine production.Toll-like receptors(TLRs) are engaged in promoting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and play an important role in tumor immunology.Methods:To investigate the mechanisms by which TAMs influence the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines in lung cancer cells,we established an in vitro coculture system using TAMs and human nonsmall cell lung cancer(NSCLC) cell line SPC-A1.Levels of interleukin(IL)-1β,IL-6 and IL-8 in SPC-A1 were evaluated by RT-PCR and cytometric bead array assay after being cocultured with TAMs.Expression changes of TLRs and TLRs signaling pathway proteins in SPC-A1 were further confirmed by RT-PCR and western blot.The level changes of IL-1β,IL-6 and IL-8 in SPC-A1 were also detected after the stimulation of TLRs agonists.Results:We found that the phenotype markers of TAMs were highly expressed after stimulating human monocyte cell line THP-1 by phorbol-12-myristate-13-acetate(PMA).Higher mRNA and supernate secretion levels of IL-1β,IL-6 and IL-8 were detected in SPC-A1 after being cocultured with TAMs.We also found that TLR1,TLR6 and TLR7 were up-regulated in SPC-A1 in the coculture system with TAMs.Meanwhile,TLRs signaling pathway proteins were also significantly activated.Moreover,pre-treatment with agonist ligands for TLR1,TLR6 and TLR7 could dramatically promote inductions of IL-1β,IL-6 and IL-8.Conclusions:These findings demonstrated that TAMs may enhance IL-1β,IL-6 and IL-8 expressions via TLRs signaling pathway.We conclude that TAMs contribute to maintain the inflammation microenvironment and ultimately promote the development and progression of lung cancer. | Xing Ke Meng Wu Jianfang Lou Shuping Zhang Peijun Huang Ruihong Sun Lei Huang Erfu Xie Fang Wang Bing Gu | 2015 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2015,27,2: | 6 |
| 7 | Hydrogen production from coke oven gas over LiNi/γ-Al_2O_3 catalyst modified by rare earth metal oxide in a membrane reactor显示文摘The performance of LiNi/γ-Al2O3 catalysts modified by rare earth metal oxide(La2O3 or CeO2 ) packed on BCFNO membrane reactor was discussed for the partial oxidation of methane(POM) in coke oven gas(COG) at 875 C. The NiO/γ-Al2O3 catalysts with different amounts of La2O3 and CeO2 were prepared with the same preparation method and under the same condition in order to compare the reaction performance(oxygen permeation,CH 4 conversion,H 2 and CO selectivity) on the membrane reactor. The results show that the oxygen permeation flux increased significantly with LiNiREO x /γ-Al2O3(RE = La or Ce) catalysts by adding the element of rare earth especially the Ce during the POM in COG. Such as,the Li15wt%CeO2 9wt%NiO/γ-Al2O3 catalyst with an oxygen permeation flux of 24.71 ml cm 2 min 1 and a high CH 4 conversion was obtained in 875 C. The resulted high oxygen permeation flux may be due to the added Ce that inhibited the strong interaction between Ni and Al2O3 to form the NiAl2O4 phase. | 8 | The IBI1 Receptor ofβ-Aminobutyric Acid Interacts with VOZ Transcription Factors to Regulate Abscisic Acid Signaling and Callose-Associated Defense显示文摘Extemal and internal signals can prime the plant immune system for a faster and/or stronger response to pathogen attack.β-aminobutyric acid(BABA)is an endogenous stress metabolite that induces broad-spectrum disease resistance in plants.BABA perception in Arabidopsis is mediated by the aspartyl tRNA synthetase IBI1,which activates priming of multiple immune responses,including callose-associated cell wall defenses that are under control by abscisic acid(ABA).However,the immediate signaling components after BABA perception by IBI1,as well as the regulatory role of ABA therein,remain unknown.Here,we have studied the early signaling events controlling IBI1-dependent BABA-induced resistance(BABAIR),using untargeted transcriptome and protein interaction analyses.Transcriptome analysis revealed that IBI1-dependent expression of BABA-IR against the biotrophic oomycete Hyaloperonospora arabidopsidis is associated with suppression of ABA-inducible abiotic stress genes.Protein interaction studies identified the VOZ1 and VOZ2 transcription factors(TFs)as IBI1-interacting partners,which are transcrip-tionally induced by ABA but suppress pathogen-induced expression of ABA-dependent genes.Furthermore,we show that VOZ TFs require nuclear localization for their contribution to BABA-IR by mediating augmented expression of callose-associated defense.Collectively,our study indicates that the IBI1-VOZ signaling module channels pathogen-induced ABA signaling toward cell wall defense while simultaneously suppressing abiotic stress-responsive genes. | Roland E.Schwarzenbacher Grace Wardell Joost Stassen Emily Guest Peijun Zhang Estrella Luna Jurriaan Ton | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,10: | 4 |
| 9 | Discovery of the ancient Ordovician oil-bearing karst cave in Liuhuanggou,North Tarim Basin,and its significance显示文摘A typical ancient karst cave is found in the Yijianfang Formation of Ordovician at Liuhuanggou,North Tarim Basin.With an entrance of 4.8 m wide and 20 m high,the Liuhuanggou ancient karst cave extends to NW 315° and has been filled by sediments,which can be classified into three types according to their nature and origin:clastic sediments(gravels),chemical sediments(palaeotravertine),and mixed sediments.Among them,the Paleotravertine and gravels are most common.The palaeotravertine is laminated type and yellowish brown or black in color due to oil inside.When saturated with oil,the palaeotravertine is black.Under microscope,oil mainly accumulates in the cracks between calcite crystals.The filling period of the Liuhuanggou karst cave can be divided into three stages:mixed filling,chemical filling,and clastic(palaeotravertine breccia) filling.Numerous fractures are distributed on one side of the karst cave.The fractures can be as wide as 40 cm and over 40 m long.Fractures of different periods and sizes constitute a fracture network and are all filled with calcite veins.Oil can be found inside the fractures.In the chemical fillings,sulfur is also found,which can indicate the magma influence on karst caves.The existence of sulfur also confirms that the Liuhunggou karst cave was formed in ancient times rather than recently or nowadays.Different from normal sedimentary limestone,the ancient Liuhuanggou karst cave has a distinct isotope fractionation and the depletion of heavy carbon and oxygen isotope.Controlled by the northwest oriented vertical strike-slip shear fault,the karst cave is actually a dissolved vertical fault belt. | ZHONG JianHua MAO Cui LI Yong LI Yang YUAN XiangChun NIU YongBin CHEN Xin HuANG ZhiJuan SHAO ZhuFu WANG PeiJun LI Jia ZHANG DanFeng | 2012 | Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,9: | 4 |

| 12 | Spatiotemporal Changes of Hazard Intensity-Adjusted Population Exposure to Multiple Hazards in Tibet During 1982–2015显示文摘The dynamic changes of population exposure to hazards in high-altitude areas are an important factor in the scientific evaluation of environmental risks. In this study,the hazards of hypoxia, earthquakes, and snowstorms in Tibet were respectively described by the percentage of oxygen at sea level, earthquake intensity, and mean annual maximum snow depth. The rates of population affected by hypoxia, earthquakes, and snowstorms were calculated by chronic mountain sickness and historical disaster data.Based on these, the study examined the change in population exposure to the three hazards and their combinations by hazard intensity level at the 1 km 9 1 km grid scale in1982–2015. The results show that population exposures to hypoxia, earthquakes, and snowstorms were about 745 thousand, 97 thousand, and 168 thousand in 2015,respectively, among a total population in Tibet of 3.24 million. These exposures were mainly concentrated in the3400–5000 m above sea level zone. The population exposed to hypoxia and earthquakes showed a rising trend from 1982 to 2015, while the population exposed tosnowstorms decreased after 2000 due to reduced snowstorm intensity. Hypoxia-earthquake and hypoxia-snowstorm are the main multiple hazard combinations that people in Tibet suffered from and their personátime exposures were estimated at around 842 thousand and 913 thousand in 2015, respectively, with an average annual increase of 1.7% and 1.3%. Hypoxia is the most important health risk in Tibet. | 13 | Genetic analysis of meio-and mito-gynogenetic stocks of Paralichthys olivaceus with microsatellite markers显示文摘Twenty microsatellite markers (Po1, Po13, Po33, Po35, Po42, Po48, Po56, Po89, Po91, kop6, kop7, kop8, kop12, kop15, kop18, kop21, kop22, kop23, kop26, Po-str1) were used to assess the meiogynogenetic and mitogynogenetic stocks of the left-eyed flounder, Paralichthys olivaceus, which were derived from single pair crossing. Twelve of the 20 loci utilized showed heterozygosity in the female and were mapped in relation to their centromeres in the meiogynogenetic diploid flounder. Microsatellite-centromere map distance, calculated under the assumption of complete interference, ranged from 15.8 cM for kop22 to 50 cM for Po13, Po56 and Po89. Excluding the kop22, the heterozygosities of the rest of the loci were close to 100%, suggesting the occurrence of near complete interference on the chromosome arms that carried these loci. In the mitogynogenetic diploid flounder, each individual showed exact homozygousity and the segregation profiles did not deviate from the Mendelian 1∶1 pattern. The results indicated that there was no lethal gene linked with the loci analyzed. Such high interference accounted for the high recombination rates and large map distances. | 15 | Surface Rainfall and Cloud Budgets Associated with Mei-yu Torrential Rainfall over Eastern China during June 2011显示文摘Surface rainfall and cloud budgets associated with three heavy rainfall events that occurred over eastern China during the mei-yu season in June 2011 were analyzed using 2D cumulus ensemble model simulation data. Model domain mean rainfall showed three peaks in response to three prescribed ascending motion maxima, primarily through the mean moisture convergence during the torrential rainfall period. Prescribed ascending motion throughout the troposphere produced strong convective rainfall during the first(9 June) and third(17–18 June) rainfall events, whereas strong prescribed ascending motion in the mid and upper troposphere and weak subsidence near the surface generated equally important stratiform and convective rainfall during the second rainfall event(14 June). The analysis of surface rainfall budgets reveals that convective rainfall was associated with atmospheric drying during the first event and moisture convergence during the third event. Both stratiform and convective rainfall responded primarily to moisture convergence during the second event. Real- time collision detection algorithm based on spatial partition and time coherence is utilized to enable fast contact determination. Proxy-based collision response algorithm is proposed to compute surface contact point. Cutting force model based on piecewise contact transition model is proposed for dental drilling simulation during tooth preparation. Velocity-driven levels of detail haptic rendering algorithm is proposed to maintain high update rate for complex scenes with a large number of triangles. Haptic- visual collocated dental training prototype is established using half-mirror solution. Typical dental op- erations have been realized including dental caries exploration, detection of boundary within dental cross-section plane, and dental drilling during tooth preparation. | 18 | Identifying the composition and atomic distribution of Pt-Au bimetallic nanoparticle with machine learning and genetic algorithm显示文摘Bimetallic nanoparticles(AmBn)usually exhibit rich catalytic chemistry and have drawn tremendous attention in heterogeneous catalysis.However,challenged by the huge configuration space,the understanding toward their composition and distribution of A/B element is known little at the atomic level,which hinders the rational synthesis.Herein,we develop an on-the-fly training strategy combing the machine learning model(SchNet)with the genetic algorithm(GA)search technique,which achieve the fast and accurate energy prediction of complex bimetallic clusters at the DFT level.Taking the 38-atom PtmAu38-mnanoparticle as example,the element distribution identification problem and the stability trend as a function of Pt/Au composition is quantitatively re solved.Specifically,results show that on the Pt-rich cluster Au atoms prefer to occupy the low-coordinated surface corner sites and form patch-like surface segregation patte rns,while for the Au-rich ones Pt atoms tend to site in the co re region and form the co re-shell(Pt@Au)configuration.The thermodynamically most stable PtmAu38-mcluster is Pt6 Au32,with all the core-region sites occupied by Pt,rationalized by the stronger Pt-Pt bond in comparison with Pt-Au and Au-Au bonds.This work exemplifies the potent application of rapid global sea rch enabled by machine learning in exploring the high-dimensional configuration space of bimetallic nanocatalysts. | Jiawei Zhang Jianfu Chen Peijun Hu Haifeng Wang | 2020 | Chinese Chemical Letters2020,31,3: | 2 |
| 19 | Making small molecules in plants:A chassis for synthetic biology-based production of plant natural products显示文摘Plant natural products have been extensively exploited in food,medicine,flavor,cosmetic,renewable fuel,and other industrial sectors.Synthetic biology has recently emerged as a promising means for the cost-effective and sustainable production of natural products.Compared with engineering microbes for the production of plant natural products,the potential of plants as chassis for producing these compounds is underestimated,largely due to challenges encountered in engineering plants.Knowledge in plant engineering is instrumental for enabling the effective and efficient production of valuable phytochemicals in plants,and also paves the way for a more sustainable future agriculture.In this manuscript,we briefly recap the biosynthesis of plant natural products,focusing primarily on industrially important terpenoids,alkaloids,and phenylpropanoids.We further summarize the plant hosts and strategies that have been used to engineer the production of natural products.The challenges and opportunities of using plant synthetic biology to achieve rapid and scalable production of high-value plant natural products are also discussed. | Xinyu Liu Peijun Zhang Qiao Zhao Ancheng C.Huang | 2023 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,2: | 2 |
| 20 | Mesoscale Modeling Study of Severe Convection over Complex Terrain显示文摘Short squall lines that occurred over Lishui, southwestern Zhejiang Province, China, on 5 July 2012, were investigated using the WRF model based on 1°× 1° gridded NCEP Final Operational Global Analysis data. The results from the numerical simulations were particularly satisfactory in the simulated radar echo, which realistically reproduced the generation and development of the convective cells during the period of severe convection. The initiation of this severe convective case was mainly associated with the uplift effect of mesoscale mountains, topographic convergence, sufficient water vapor, and enhanced low-level southeasterly wind from the East China Sea. An obvious wind velocity gradient occurred between the Donggong Mountains and the southeast coastline, which easily enabled wind convergence on the windward slope of the Donggong Mountains; both strong mid–low-level southwesterly wind and low-level southeasterly wind enhanced vertical shear over the mountains to form instability; and a vertical coupling relation between the divergence on the upper-left side of the Donggong Mountains and the convergence on the lower-left side caused the convection to develop rapidly. The convergence centers of surface streams occurred over the mountain terrain and updrafts easily broke through the lifting condensation level(LCL) because of the strong wind convergence and topographic lift, which led to water vapor condensation above the LCL and the generation of the initial convective cloud.
