1New vacuum solar telescope and observations with high resolution显示文摘The New Vacuum Solar Telescope(NVST) is a one meter vacuum solar telescope that aims to observe fine structures on the Sun. The main goals of NVST are high resolution imaging and spectral observations, including measurements of the solar magnetic field. NVST is the primary ground-based facility used by the Chinese solar research community in this solar cycle. It is located by Fuxian Lake in southwest China, where the seeing is good enough to perform high resolution observations. We first introduce the general conditions at the Fuxian Solar Observatory and the primary science cases of NVST. Then, the basic structures of this telescope and instruments are described in detail. 3Precise nanomedicine for intelligent therapy of cancer显示文摘Precise nanomedicine has been extensively explored for efficient cancer imaging and targeted cancer therapy, as evidenced by a few breakthroughs in their preclinical and clinical explorations. Here, we demonstrate the recent advances of intelligent cancer nanomedicine, and discuss the comprehensive understanding of their structure-function relationship for smart and efficient cancer nanomedicine including various imaging and therapeutic applications, as well as nanotoxicity. In particular, a few emerging strategies that have advanced cancer nanomedicine are also highlighted as the emerging focus such as tumor imprisonment, supramolecular chemotherapy, and DNA nanorobot. The challenge and outlook of some scientific and engineering issues are also discussed in future development. 4Incidence trends and age distribution of colorectal cancer by subsite in Guangzhou,2000-2011显示文摘Introduction:Colorectal cancer(CRC) is the third most common cancer in China.The incidence of CRC has been increasing in recent years.The aim of this study was to explore the incidence trends and the age distribution of CRC by subsite in Guangzhou between 2000 and 2011.Methods:A total of 22,432 incident cases of CRC between 2000 and 2011 from Guangzhou Cancer Registry were identified.Crude incidence and age-standardized rates(ASRs),using the Segi’s world standard population,were calculated for CRC and CRC subsites.The incidence trend was analyzed and the annual percentage change(APC) in incidence was calculated by using JoinPoint software.Results:The crude incidence increased significantly from 23.4/10~5 in 2000 to 37.4/10~5 in 2011 for males and from20.9/10~5 to 30.5/10~5 for females.The ASRs of CRC incidence stabilized during the period of 2000-2011 for both males and females.The ages at the onset of CRC for both males and females during 2010-2011 were significantly higher compared with those during 2000-2002(males:f = 1.95,P = 0.05;females:f = 6.03,P < 0.01).For males aged50-64 years,the CRC incidence increased by 8.50%annually(P = 0.04) during 2000-2004 and by 1.68%annually(P = 0.03) during 2005-2011.For females aged 65 years and older,the CRC incidence increased by 5.77%annually(P = 0.03) during 2000-2004.There were no significant changes for the CRC incidences in males aged 49 and younger and 65 years and older and females aged 64 years and younger during 2000-2004,or for those in all females as well as males aged 49 years and younger and 65 years and older during 2005-2011.The percentage of colon cancer in all CRCs increased significantly for both males and females between the periods of 2000-2002 and 2010-2011.The ASRs of descending colon and sigmoid colon cancer incidences increased significantly for females during 2005-2011(APC,5.51%and 1.08%,respectively,both P < 0.05).Conclusions:The crude incidence of CRC increased significantly between 2000 and 2011 because of the aging,whereas the ASRs kept stable.The percentage of colon cancer in all CRCs increased significantly.Further surveillance,research,and intervention are needed to identify the causes of these changes and to reduce the incidence and mortality of CRC.Qin Zhou Ke Li Guo-Zhen Lin Ji-Chuan Shen Hang Dong Yu-Ting Gu Hua-Zhang Liu 2015Chinese Journal of Cancer2015,34,8:17
5Consensus among Chinese experts on standard interventional therapy for deep venous thrombosis of lower extremity(second edition)显示文摘This is an update on the first edition of the expert consensus. This document discusses the indications and contraindications of interventional treatment methods for deep venous thrombosis such as anticoagulation, catheter-directed thrombolysis, percutaneous mechanical thrombectomy, percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and stent implantation. The operational procedures, considerations, preoperative management, and prevention of complications were also updated, supplemented, and revised. 8Temperature dependent expression of cdc2 and cyclin B1 in spermatogenic cells during spermatogenesis显示文摘p34cdc2 and Cyclin B1 are key components of cell cycle controlling machine and are believed to play a fundamental role in gametogenesis. It is also well known that, in scrotal mammals, spermatogenesis depends greatly on the maintenance of comparatively low temperature in the scrotum. To investigate whether the expression of cdc2 and Cyclin B1 in spermatogenic cells during spermatogenesis is actually a temperature dependent event, in situ hybridization, Western blotting and immunohistochemistry analysis were used to study the expression of cdc2 and Cyclin B1 in normal and cryptorchid testis. Results showed that the abdominal temperature had no significant influence on the transcription of cdc2 and Cyclin B1 in the spermatogonia and pachytene/diplotene primary spermatocytes, but it blocked the translation of them. Due to the deficiency of p34cdc2 and Cyclin B1, the spermatogonia and pachytene/diplotene primary spermatocytes were unable to form MPF, hence, they couldn’t undergo karyokinesis. The development of primary spermatocytes was arrested at the G2 to M phase transition. We also found that testosterone could regulate the Cyclin B1 expression in spermatogenic cells. 10Waste oyster shell as a kind of active filler to treat the combined wastewater at an estuary显示文摘Estuaries have been described as one of the most difcult environments on Earth. It is difcult to know how to treat the combined wastewater in tidal rivers at the estuary, where the situation is very diferent from ordinary fresh water rivers. Waste oyster shell was used as the active filler in this study in a bio-contact oxidation tank to treat the combined wastewater at the Fengtang Tidal River. With a middle-experimental scale of 360 m3/day, the average removal efciency of COD, BOD, NH3-N, TP and TSS was 80.05%, 85.02%,86.59%, 50.58% and 85.32%, respectively, in this bio-contact oxidation process. The living microbes in the biofilms on the waste oyster shell in this bio-contact oxidation tank, which were mainly composed of zoogloea, protozoa and micro-metazoa species, revealed that waste oyster shell as the filler was suitable material for combined wastewater degradation. This treatment method using waste oyster shell as active filler was then applied in a mangrove demonstration area for water quality improvement near the experiment area, with a treatment volume of 5 × 103m3/day. Another project was also successfully applied in a constructed wetland, with a wastewater treatment volume of 1 × 103m3/day. 11Classification of hyperspectral remote sensing images using frequency spectrum similarity显示文摘An algorithm of hyperspectral remote sensing images classification is proposed based on the frequency spectrum of spectral signature.The spectral signature of each pixel in the hyperspectral image is taken as a discrete signal,and the frequency spectrum is obtained using discrete Fourier transform.The discrepancy of frequency spectrum between ground objects' spectral signatures is visible,thus the difference between frequency spectra of reference and target spectral signature is used to measure the spectral similarity.Canberra distance is introduced to increase the contribution from higher frequency components.Then,the number of harmonics involved in the proposed algorithm is determined after analyzing the frequency spectrum energy cumulative distribution function of ground object.In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm,two hyperspectral remote sensing images are adopted as experimental data.The proposed algorithm is compared with spectral angle mapper (SAM),spectral information divergence (SID) and Euclidean distance (ED) using the product accuracy,user accuracy,overall accuracy,average accuracy and Kappa coefficient.The results show that the proposed algorithm can be applied to hyperspectral image classification effectively.WANG Ke GU XingFa YU Tao MENG QingYan ZHAO LiMin FENG Li 2013Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,4:10
12Risk factors of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment associated with choroidal detachment in Chinese patients显示文摘AIM:To comprehensively analyze the risk factors of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD) associated with choroidal detachment(CD).METHODS:A total of 265 eyes of 265 consecutive cases of RRD were retrospectively analyzed.All patients had systemic and ophthalmologic examination.CD was diagnosed by indirect ophthalmoscopy,B-scan ultrasonography,and ultrasound biomicroscope(UBM).Each parameter was compared between patients of RRD and rhegmatogenous retinal detachment associated with choroidal detachment(RRDCD).Logistic regression analysis was used to determine the independent risk factors of CD.RESULTS:There were 52 eyes(19.62%) with CD.Pseudophakia was more commonly seen in RRDCD(21.15% vs 6.10%,P=0.002).Intraocular pressure(IOP)was lower(8.60±3.62 vs 12.96±3.55,P<0.001),bestcorrected visual acuity was worse[3.00(2.00 to 3.00) vs 1.92(1.22 to 3.00),P=0.001],and refractive error was more myopic[-4(-9 to -2) vs-2(-6 to 0),P =0.007]in RRDCD.Eyes with RRDCD had larger extent of retinal detachment(P=0.007).In RRDCD,34.62% of eyes presented with multiple holes(P=0.044) and 25.00% with macular holes(P=0.012),compared with 20.66% and 14.08% in RRD.High myopia(P=0.039),low IOP(P=0.017),and larger extent of retinal detachment(P<0.001) were significant and independent risk factors for developing CD.CONCLUSION:For CD in RRD,related factors include BCVA,IOP,lens status,refractive error,extent of retinal detachment,number of holes,and macular hole.Larger extent of retinal detachment,high myopia,and low IOP are significant and independent risk factors.Yong-Hao Gu Gen-Jie Ke Lin Wang Qi-Hong Gu En-Liang Zhou Hong-Biao Pan Shi-Ying Wang 2016International Journal of Ophthalmology(English edition)2016,9,7:10

14Microbiologically influenced corrosion behavior of S32654 super austenitic stainless steel in the presence of marine Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm显示文摘S32654 super austenitic stainless steel(SASS) is widely used in highly corrosive environments. However,its microbiologically influenced corrosion(MIC) behavior has not been reported yet. In this study, the corrosion behavior of S32654 SASS caused by a corrosive marine bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa was investigated using electrochemical measurements and surface analysis techniques. It was found that P. aeruginosa biofilm accelerated the corrosion rate of S325654 SASS, which was demonstrated by a negative shift of the open circuit potential(EOCP), a decrease of polarization resistance and an increase of corrosion current density in the culture medium. The largest pit depth of the coupons exposed in the P.aeruginosa broth for 14 days was 2.83 m, much deeper than that of the control(1.33 m) in the abiotic culture medium. 18Antibodies against the C-terminal peptide of rabbit oviductin inhibit mouse early embryo development to pass 2-cell stage显示文摘A full-length rabbit oviductin cDNA(1909bp) was cloned. It consists of a 5’-UTR of 52bp, an open reading frame (ORF) of 1374bp and a 3’-UTR of 483bp and has more than 80% homology with that of other mammal oviductins. N-terminal peptide (NTP) (384 residues) and C-terminal peptide (CTP) (73 residues) of deduced protein precursor has about 80% and 50% identity with that of other mammals respectively. Fusion proteins GST-NTP 368(1R-368N)and GST-CTP73 (369F-441A) were expressed and purified. NH2-terminal of CTP sequencing reveals that the purified protein is consistent with the deduced one. In order to study the function of NTP and CTP the mouse anti-NTP and rabbit anti-CTP antisera were prepared. Tissue-specific (skeleton muscle, oviduct, uterus, ovary, liver, heart and brain) analysis indicated that rabbit oviductin was only found in oviduct. The conditioned medium derived from the rabbit oviduct mucosa epithelial cells has a function of overcoming the early embryonic development block of Kunming mous e cultured in vitro. Anti-CTP antiserum could totally inhibit the early embryo development at 2-cell stage cultured in the conditioned culture medium, but anti-NTP antiserum couldn’t. There was a positive relationship between the ratio of early embryos at development block and the dosage of anti-CTP antiserum added in the conditioned culture medium.
