Effect of Xiaoaiping injection on advanced hepatocellular carcinoma in patients显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Xiaoaiping Injection (XAP) on advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in patients. METHODS: Sixty-eight patients with advanced HCC were assigned to a control group of 36 and a treatment group of 32.The control group was treated with best supportive treatment (BST) and the treatment group was given XAP plus BST. XAP was administered daily by iv and the treatment course was lasted for 30 days for both groups. The immediate therapeutic efficacy, Karnofsky performance status (KPS) scores, and the changes in immunity indicators (CD3+, CD4+ and CD8+ T cells) were measured and compared before and after treatment. The progression-free survival (PFS) rate and overall survival (OS) rate in the 2 groups were analyzed. RESULTS: The immediate therapeutic efficacy and KPS of the treatment group were better than those in the control group (P<0.05). Patients in the treat-ment group had higher percentages of CD3 and CD4 T-lymphocytes in peripheral blood than those in the control group (P<0.05). The median survival time was 27.0 weeks in the treatment group and 24.5 weeks in the control group. The 6-months cumulative survival rates in the treatment and control groups were 33.3% and 25.0% , respectively, with no significant difference (P>0.05). The PFS was 18 weeks in the treatment group and 15 weeks in control group (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: XAP enhances the quality of life (QOL) of patients with advanced HCC, improves their immunity and extends their PFS. | Zhengrong Huang Yong Wang Jiajun Chen Rongping Wang Qiang Chen | 2013 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2013,33,1: | 22
Determination of focal depth by two waveform-based methods:A case study for the 2008 Panzhihua earthquake显示文摘With the 2008 M S 6.1 Panzhihua earthquake as a case study,we demonstrate that the focal depth of the main shock can be well constrained with two approaches:(1) using the depth phase sPL and (2) using full waveform inversion of local and teleseismic data.We also show that focal depths can be well constrained using the depth phase sPL with single broadband seismic station. Our study indicates that the main shock is located at a depth of 11 km,much shallower than those from other studies, confirming that the earthquake occurs in upper crust.Aftershocks are located in the depth range of 11-16 km,which is consistent with a ruptured near vertical fault whose width is about 10 km,as expected for an M S 6.1 earthquake. | Zhenjie Wang Jiajun Chong Sidao Ni Barbara Romanowicz | 2011 | Earthquake Science2011,24,4: | 17
Blocking FSH inhibits hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis and reduces serum cholesterol显示文摘Menopause is associated with dyslipidemia and an increased risk of cardio-cerebrovascular disease. The classic view assumes that the underlying mechanism of dyslipidemia is attributed to an insufficiency of estrogen. In addition to a decrease in estrogen, circulating follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)levels become elevated at menopause. In this study,we find that blocking FSH reduces serum cholesterol via inhibiting hepatic cholesterol biosynthesis.First, epidemiological results show that the serum FSH levels are positively correlated with the serum total cholesterol levels, even after adjustment by considering the effects of serum estrogen,in addition, the prevalence of hypercholesterolemia is significantly higher in peri-menopausal women than that in premenopausal women.Furthermore,we generated a mouse model of FSH elevation by intraperitoneally injecting exogenous FSH into ovariectomized (OVX)mice,in which a normal level of estrogen (E2)was maintained by exogenous supplementation. Consistently, the results indicate that FSH,independent of estrogen, increases the serum cholesterol level in this mouse model. Moreover, blocking FSH signaling by anti-FSHβ antibody or ablating the FSH receptor (FSHR)gene could effectively prevent hypercholesterolemia induced by FSH injection or high-cholesterol diet feeding.Mechanistically,FSH,via binding to hepatic FSHRs, activates the Gi2α/β-arrestin-2/Akt pathway and subsequently inhibits the binding of FoxO1 with the SREBP-2 promoter, thus preventing FoxO1 from repressing SREBP-2 gene transcription. This effect,in turn, results in the upregulation of SREBP-2,which drives HMGCR nascent transcription and de novo cholesterol biosynthesis, leading to the increase of cholesterol accumulation. This study uncovers that blocking FSH signaling might be a new strategy for treating hypercholesterolemia during menopause, particularly for women in peri-menopause characterized by FSH elevation only. | Yanjing Guo Meng Zhao Tao Bo Shizhan Ma Zhongshang Yuan Wenbin Chen Zhao He Xu Hou Jun Liu Zhenhai Zhang Qiang Zhu Qiangxiu Wang Xiaoyan Lin Zhongli Yang Min Cui Lu Liu Yujie Li Chunxiao Yu Xiaoyi Qi Qian Wang Haiqing Zhang Qingbo Guan Lifang Zhao Shimeng Xuan Huili Yan Yanliang Lin Li Wang Qihang Li Yongfeng Song Ling Gao Jiajun Zhao | 2019 | Cell Research2019,29,2: | 16
Parameter Optimization of Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Neural Networks Based on PSO and BBBC Methods显示文摘Interval type-2 fuzzy neural networks(IT2FNNs)can be seen as the hybridization of interval type-2 fuzzy systems(IT2FSs) and neural networks(NNs). Thus, they naturally inherit the merits of both IT2 FSs and NNs. Although IT2 FNNs have more advantages in processing uncertain, incomplete, or imprecise information compared to their type-1 counterparts, a large number of parameters need to be tuned in the IT2 FNNs,which increases the difficulties of their design. In this paper, big bang-big crunch(BBBC) optimization and particle swarm optimization(PSO) are applied in the parameter optimization for Takagi-Sugeno-Kang(TSK) type IT2 FNNs. The employment of the BBBC and PSO strategies can eliminate the need of backpropagation computation. The computing problem is converted to a simple feed-forward IT2 FNNs learning. The adoption of the BBBC or the PSO will not only simplify the design of the IT2 FNNs, but will also increase identification accuracy when compared with present methods. The proposed optimization based strategies are tested with three types of interval type-2 fuzzy membership functions(IT2FMFs) and deployed on three typical identification models. Simulation results certify the effectiveness of the proposed parameter optimization methods for the IT2 FNNs. | Jiajun Wang Tufan Kumbasar | 2019 | IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2019,6,1: | 14
Enhanced flushing of polychlorinated biphenyls contaminated sands using surfactant foam: Effect of partition coefficient and sweep efficiency显示文摘Foam flushing is an in situ soil remediation technology based on the traditional surfactant flushing method. The contribution of mobility control to contaminant removal by foam is helpful for improving this technology. Foam flushing of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB)- contaminated unconsolidated media was performed to evaluate the effect of the partition coefficient (PC) and sweep efficiency (SE) on PCB removal. Column flushing with surfactant solution and foam with different types and concentrations of surfactant was carried out for PCB removal. Two types of quartz sand were investigated to evaluate the Jamin effect on the SE value of the washing agent. The results demonstrate that a small PC value and large SE value are necessary to achieve high PCB removal for foam flushing. Compared with solution flushing, the introduction of foam can effectively control the mobility of the washing agent. Similar to solution flushing, solubilization is a key factor which dominates the removal of PCBs in foam flushing. In addition, the SE value and PCB removal by foam flushing is less affected by particle size. Therefore, foam flushing was proved to be more effective in porous media with low hydraulic conductivity and high porosity. An integrated flushing with water, surfactant solution and foam was performed and the results prove that this technology successfully combines the advantages of solution solubilization and mobility control by foam, and thus further increases the remediation efficiency of PCBs to 94.7% for coarse sand. | Hao Wang Jiajun Chen | 2012 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,7: | 13
Organic carbon accumulation capability of two typical tidal wetland soils in Chongming Dongtan,China显示文摘We measured organic carbon input and content of soil in two wetland areas of Chongming Dongtan(Yangtze River Estuary) to evaluate variability in organic carbon accumulation capability in different wetland soils.Observed differences were investigated based on the microbial activity and environmental factors of the soil at the two sites. Results showed that the organic carbon content of wetland soil vegetated with Phragmites australis(site A) was markedly lower than that with P.australis and Spartina alterniflora(site B).Sites differences were due to higher microbial activity at site A,which led to higher soil respiration intensity and greater carbon outputs. This indicated that the capability of organic carbon accumulation of the site B soils was greater than at site A.In addition, petroleum pollution and soil salinity were different in the two wetland soils. After bio-remediation,the soil petroleum pollution at site B was reduced to a similar level of site A.However, the culturable microbial biomass and enzyme activity in the remediated soils were also lower than at site A.These results indicated that greater petroleum pollution at site B did not markedly inhibit soil microbial activity. Therefore, differences in vegetation type and soil salinity were the primary factors responsible for the variation in microbial activity, organic carbon output and organic carbon accumulation capability between site A and site B. | Shiping Zhang Lei Wang Jiajun Hu Wenquan Zhang Xiaohua Fu Yiquan Le Fangming Jin | 2011 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,1: | 11
Methane emissions during storage of different treatments from cattle manure in Tianjin显示文摘Many studies on methane emissions from animal manure have revealed that animal manure is a major source of methane emissions to the atmosphere that can have negative consequences for people, animals and environment. In general, the release of methane can be influenced by the type of feed taken by animals, temperature, manure characteristics and so on.This study aimed at quantifying and comparing methane release from dairy manure with different piling treatments.Four treatments were designed including manure piling height 30,45,60 cm and adding 6 cm manure every day until the piling height was 60 cm.Static chamber method and gas chromatography were adopted to measure the methane emissions from April to June in 2009.Methane emission rates of all four manure treatments were low in the first week and then increased sharply until reaching the peak values.Subsequently, all the methane emission rates decreased and fluctuated within the steady range till the end of the experiment.Wilcoxon nonparametric tests analysis indicated that methane emission rate was greatly influenced by manure piling height and manner. There were no significant relationships between methane emission rates and the temperatures of ambience and heap. However, regression analysis showed that the quadratic equations were found between emission rates of all treatments and the gas temperature in the barrels. | Jiajun Wang Chiqing Duan Yaqin Ji Yichao Sun | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,10: | 10
S and Pb Isotopic Constraints on the Relationship between the Linong Granodiorite and the Yangla Copper Deposit,Yunnan,China显示文摘The Yangla copper deposit, located in western Yunnan Province, China, is a typical giant, newly started mining copper deposit with an estimated Cu reserves of about 1,200,000 tons. The deposit is spatially and temporally associated with the Linong granodiorite, which is rich in SiO2 (SiO2=58.25 wt%-69.84 wt%) and alkalis (Na2O+K2O=5.98 wt%-8.34 wt%), indicating an association with shoshonitic series to high-K calc-alkaline series granites, and shows low contents of TiO2 (0.35 wt%-0.48 wt%), MgO (1.51 wt%-1.72 wt%), and Al2O3 (13.38 wt%-19.75 wt%). The δ34S values of sulfides of the main ore stage from copper ores vary range from ?4.2‰ to ?0.9‰, indicating a much greater contribution from the mantle to the ore-forming fluids. The δ34S values of the late ore stage is 9.8‰, indicating enrichment of biogenic sulfur which may derive from the crustal hydrothermal fluid. The 208Pb/204Pb, 207Pb/204Pb and 206Pb/204Pb of sulfides of the main ore stage from copper ores range within 38.66-38.73, 15.71-15.74 and 18.35-19.04, respectively, implying that the Pb was derived from the mantle, with the crustal component, probably representing mixtures of mantle lead and crustal lead. Sulfide of the late ore stage in their Pb isotopic composition, 208Pb/204Pb= 38.69, 207Pb/204Pb=15.70, 206Pb/204Pb=18.35, implying that the Pb was derived from the crust. The Linong granodiorite is syn-collisional, produced by partial melting of thickened lower crust, which was triggered by the westward subduction of the Jinshajiang Oceanic plate. During a transition in geodynamic setting from collision-related compression to extension, gently dipping ductile shear zones (related to subduction) were transformed to brittle shear zones, consisting of a series of thrust faults in the Jinshajiang tectonic belt. The tensional thrust faults would have been a favorable environment for ore-forming fluids. The ascending magma provided a channel for the ore-forming fluid from the mantle wedge. After the magma arrived at the base of the early-stage Linong granodiorite, the platy granodiorite at the base of the body would have shielded the late-stage magma from the fluid. The magma would have cooled slowly, and some of the ore-forming fluid in the magma would have entered the gently dipping thrust faults near the Linong granodiorite, resulting in mineralization. | YANG Xi'an LIU Jiajun HAN Siyu WANG Huan CHEN Siyao | 2012 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2012,86,6: | 9
Compound Danshen tablets downregulate amyloid protein precursor mRNA expression in a transgenic cell model of Alzheimer's disease Effects and a comparison with donepezil显示文摘After gene mutation, the pcDNA3.1/APP595/596 plasmid was transfected into HEK293 cells to establish a cell model of Alzheimer's disease. The cell model was treated with donepezil or compound Danshen tablets after culture for 72 hours. Reverse transcription-PCR showed that the mRNA expression of amyloid protein precursor decreased in all groups following culture for 24 hours, and that there was no significant difference in the amount of decrease between donepezil and compound Danshen tablets. Our results suggest that compound Danshen tablets can reduce expression of the mRNA for amyloid protein precursor in a transgenic cell model of Alzheimer's disease, with similar effects to donepezil. | Ren'an Qin Desheng Zhou Jiajun Wang Hua Hu Yang Yang Xiaoxuan Yao Xiaopeng Sun | 2012 | Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,9: | 8

Thermal Shock-Activated Spontaneous Growing of Nanosheets for Overall Water Splitting显示文摘Nanomaterials based on nickel foam(NF) have been widely applied in energy conversion and storage field.Traditional synthesis methods such as hydrothermal method which is dangerous and high cost limited the scalable developments.Herein,we report a fast, simple, and low-cost synthesis method of nanomaterials based on NF by Joule-heating and water soaking treatment.Thin carbon-coated CoS on NF(NF-C/CoS) was synthesized by Joule-heating for a few seconds with rapid cooling. And then,NF-C/CoS/NiOOH with core-shell heterostructure was fabricated by soaking treatment of NF-C/CoS in water on which NiOOH nanosheets grew spontaneously. The formation mechanism is proposed that the coordination complex precursor converts into C/CoS on NF driven by Joule-heating,and the nickel on the surface of NF is activated to form metastable nickel simultaneously. The metastable nickel reacting with water leads to the formation of NiOOH,and the induction of CoS makes NiOOH grow continuously. This synthesis technology provides a new route to manufacture NF-based nanostructures, and the as-fabricated NF-C/CoS/NiOOH exhibits great potential as electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction. | Han Wu Qi Lu Jinfeng Zhang Jiajun Wang Xiaopeng Han Naiqin Zhao Wenbin Hu Jiajun Li Yanan Chen Yida Deng | 2020 | Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,11: | 6
Hedgehog signaling in gastrointestinal carcinogenesis and the gastrointestinal tumor microenvironment显示文摘The Hedgehog(HH) signaling pathway plays important roles in gastrointestinal carcinogenesis and the gastrointestinal tumor microenvironment(TME). Aberrant HH signaling activation may accelerate the growth of gastrointestinal tumors and lead to tumor immune tolerance and drug resistance. The interaction between HH signaling and the TME is intimately involved in these processes, for example, tumor growth, tumor immune tolerance, inflammation, and drug resistance. Evidence indicates that inflammatory factors in the TME, such as interleukin 6(IL-6) and interferon-g(IFN-g), macrophages, and T cell-dependent immune responses, play a vital role in tumor growth by affecting the HH signaling pathway. Moreover, inhibition of proliferating cancer-associated fibroblasts(CAFs) and inflammatory factors can normalize the TME by suppressing HH signaling. Furthermore, aberrant HH signaling activation is favorable to both the proliferation of cancer stem cells(CSCs) and the drug resistance of gastrointestinal tumors. This review discusses the current understanding of the role and mechanism of aberrant HH signaling activation in gastrointestinal carcinogenesis, the gastrointestinal TME,tumor immune tolerance and drug resistance and highlights the underlying therapeutic opportunities. | Jinghui Zhang Jiajun Fan Xian Zeng Mingming Nie Jingyun Luan Yichen Wang Dianwen Ju Kai Yin | 2021 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2021,11,3: | 5
New Discovery of Molybdenite in the Dongping Gold Deposit, Hebei Province, China and its Re-Os Geochronological Implications显示文摘The Dongping gold deposit is located on the northern margin of the North China Craton, and is the largest alkaline pluton-related gold deposit in China(Bao et al.,2014),which is characterized by its large amounts of tellurides. The deposit is largely hosted in the Shuiquangou syenitic complex and consists of auriferous quartz veins and disseminated sulfide ores.It has been extensively studied since its discovery in the 1980s;however the geochronology and genesis of the deposit are still controversial.Nie(1998)considered that the deposit was formed in the Devonian. | WANG Dazhao LIU Jiajun ZHAI Degao ZHEN Shimin WANG Jiang YANG Xi'an | 2019 | Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2019,93,3: | 5

Development of high-resolution multiple-SNP arrays for genetic analyses and molecular breeding through genotyping by target sequencing and liquid chip显示文摘Genotyping platforms,as critical supports for genomics, genetics, and molecular breeding, have been well implemented at national institutions/universities in developed countries and multinational seed companies that possess high-throughput,automatic,large-scale,and shared facilities. In this study,we integrated an improved genotyping by target sequencing(GBTS)system with capture-in-solution(liquid chip)technology to develop a multiple single-nucleotide polymorphism(mSNP)approach in which mSNPs can be captured from a single amplicon. From one 40K maize mSNP panel,we developed three types of markers(40K mSNPs,251K SNPs,and 690K haplotypes),and generated multiple panels with various marker densities(1K–40K mSNPs)by sequencing at different depths.Comparative genetic diversity analysis was performed with genic versus intergenic markers and di-allelic SNPs versus non-typical SNPs.Compared with the one-amplicon-one-SNP system,mSNPs and within-mSNP haplotypes are more powerful for genetic diversity detection, linkage disequilibrium decay analysis, and genome-wide association studies. The technologies, protocols, and application scenarios developed for maize in this study will serve as a model for the development of mSNP arrays and highly efficient GBTS systems in animals, plants, and microorganisms. | Zifeng Guo Quannv Yang Feifei Huang Hongjian Zheng Zhiqin Sang Yanfen Xu Cong Zhang Kunsheng Wu Jiajun Tao Boddupalli MPrasanna Michael SOlsen Yunbo Wang Jianan Zhang Yunbi Xu | 2021 | Plant Communications2021,2,6: | 5
Microwave Synthesis of Cuprous Oxide Micro-/Nanocrystals with Different Morphologies and Photocatalytic Activities显示文摘Cuprous oxide micro-/nanocrystals were synthesized by using a simple liquid phase reduction process under microwave irradiation.Copper sulfate was used as the starting materials and macromolecule surfactants served as the templates. The morphologies phase and optical properties of them are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and ultraviolet-visible diffuse reflection absorptive spectra (UV-vis/DRS),respectively.The crystals had four different shapes, namely spheres, strips, octahedrons, and dandelions. The photocatalytic behavior of the cuprous oxide particles were investigated by monitoring the degradation of rhodamine B.In spite of the different morphologies, all of the cuprous oxide micro-/nanocrystals exhibited photocatalytic activities under visible light irradiation in the following order:dandelions, strips, spheres, and octahedral crystals. The photocatalytic degradation rates of rhodamine B are 56.37%,55.68%,51.83% and 46.16%,respectively.The morphology affects significantly the photocatalytic performance. | Qingwei Zhu Yihe Zhang Jiajun Wang Fengshan Zhou Paul K. | 17 | Namib desert beetle inspired special patterned fabric with programmable and gradient wettability for efficient fog harvesting显示文摘Efficient collection of water from fog provides a potential solution to solve the global freshwater shortage problem, particularly in the desert or arid regions. In this work, a flexible and highly efficient fog collector was prepared by mimicking the back exoskeleton structure of the Namib desert beetle. The improved fog collector was constructed by a superhydrophobic-superhydrophilic patterned fabric via a simple weaving method, followed by in-situ deposition of copper particles. Compared with the conventional fog collector with a plane structure, the fabric has shown a higher water-harvesting rate at 1432.7 mg/h/cm2,owing to the biomimetic three-dimensional structure, its enhanced condensation performance enabled by the copper coating and the rational distribution of wetting units. | 18 | Co-implantation of magnesium and zinc ions into titanium regulates the behaviors of human gingival fibroblasts显示文摘Soft tissue sealing around implants acts as a barrier between the alveolar bone and oral environment, protecting implants from the invasion of bacteria or external stimuli. In this work, magnesium(Mg)and zinc(Zn)are introduced into titanium by plasma immersed ion implantation technology, and their effects on the behaviors of human gingival fibroblasts(HGFs)as well as the underlying mechanisms are investigated.Surface characterization confirms Mg and Zn exist on the surface in metallic and oxidized states.Contact angle test suggests that surface wettability of titanium changes after ion implantation and thus influences protein adsorption of surfaces. In vitro studies disclose that HGFs on Mg ion-implanted samples exhibit better adhesion and migration while cells on Zn ion-implanted samples have higher proliferation rate and amounts. The results of immunofluorescence staining and real-time reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)suggest that Mg mainly regulates the motility and adhesion of HGFs through activating the MAPK signal pathway whereas Zn influences HGFs proliferation by triggering the TGF-βsignal pathway. The synergistic effect of Mg and Zn ions ensure that HGFs cultured on co-implanted samples possessed both high proliferation rate and motility, which are critical to soft tissue sealing of implants. | Lanyu Wang Qiming Luo Xianming Zhang Jiajun Qiu Shi Qian Xuanyong Liu | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,1: | 4

Airgun signal propagation distances were detected using stacked seismic data to analyze the environmental impact on signal propagation distance. The results showed that:( 1) the airgun signal produced by bubble pulses, pressure pulses and the surface wave can be received by a portable station near the fixed field;( 2) the dominant frequency of a bubble at 5Hz or so can be received by both near-field stations and far-field stations, pressure pulses rapidly weaken and the dominant frequency bands get narrower as epicentral distance increases;( 3) the longest spread distance of signal is 260 km,the nearest is 180 km,and the signal can travel further in the evening. | Xu Jiajun Cai Huiteng Jin Xing Wang Shanxiong Xia Ji Li Pei | 2016 | Earthquake Research in China2016,30,3: | 4 |
Routing valley exciton emission of a WS_(2) monolayer via delocalized Bloch modes of in-plane inversion-symmetry-broken photonic crystal slabs显示文摘The valleys of two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDCs)offer a new degree of freedom for information processing. To take advantage of this valley degree of freedom,on the one hand,it is feasible to control valleys by utilizing different external stimuli, such as optical and electric fields. On the other hand, nanostructures are also used to separate the valleys by near-field coupling. However, for both of the above methods, either the required low-temperature environment or low degree of coherence properties limit their further applications. Here,we demonstrate that all-dielectric photonic crystal(PhC)slabs without in-plane inversion symmetry(C_(2) symmetry)can separate and route valley exciton emission of a WS2 monolayer at room temperature.Coupling with circularly polarized photonic Bloch modes of such PhC slabs, valley photons emitted by a WS_(2) monolayer are routed directionally and are efficiently separated in the far field. In addition,far-field emissions are directionally enhanced and have long-distance spatial coherence properties. | Jiajun Wang Han Li Yating Ma Maoxiong Zhao Wenzhe Liu Bo Wang Shiwei Wu Xiaohan Liu Lei Shi Tian Jiang Jian Zi | 2020 | Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1: | 4
