Regional patterns of particulate spectral absorption in the Pearl River estuary显示文摘Spectral absorption coefficients of the total particulate, ap(l ), nonalgal particulate, ad(l ), and phyto-plankton pigment, aph(l ), in the Pearl River estuary and its vicinity waters were determined using the quantitative filter technique. The particulate absorption ap(443) ranged from 0.04 to 1.82 m-1, with the corresponding aph(443) ranging from 0.016 to 0.484 m-1. Two typical spectral patterns are found for the total particulate absorption. For the first typi-cal spectral pattern, the total particulate absorption spectra are similar to that of nonalgal particulate, with values of absorption coefficient decreasing with wavelength. In con-trast, for the second spectral pattern the spectral absorptions by total particulate are very similar to that of phytoplankton pigment. The spectral dependency of absorption by nonalgal particulate follows an exponential increase toward short wavelengths, with an average slope of 0.012±0.002 nm-1. The nonalgal absorption and the fraction of the nonalgal particulate absorption to the total particulate absorption exhibit a distinct trend of decreasing with salinity of the sur-face water. Phytoplankton pigment absorption exhibits a clear trend of increasing nonlinearly with chlorophyll a con-centration. The relationships between the phytoplankton pigment absorption and chlorophyll a concentration can be described by power law, with the determination coefficient r2 of 0.82. But only weak relationships between ap(l ) and chlorophyll a concentration are observed, with the determination coefficient r2 of 0.42. The relatively large scatter around ap(443) versus chl-a relationship would be attributed to the effects of loading of the nonalgal particulate absorption. Our analysis indicated that such relationships similar to that for Case Ⅰ waters can be applicable to optically complex Case Ⅱ waters if the effects caused by nonalgal are corrected. The chlorophyll-specific absorption coefficients of phytoplankton pigment are not constant, it increases with decreasing chlorophyll a level. To improve the accuracy of bio-optical algorithms for remote sensing in coastal waters, further investigations on the variations of specific absorption of chlorophyll pigment must be made. | CAO Wenxi, YANG Yuezhong, XU Xiaoqiang, HUANG Liangmin & ZHANG Jianlin LED Laboratory, South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Guangzhou 510301, China Correspondence should be addressed to Cao Wenxi (e-mail: wxcao@ scsio.ac.cn) | 2003 | Chinese Science Bulletin2003,48,21: | 24

Influence of microwave treatment under a hydrogen or methane atmosphere on the flotability of the macerals in Shenfu coals显示文摘The modification of Shenfu coals by a microwave treatment carried out under a hydrogen or a methane atmosphere, and the subsequent maceral separation by flotation, are described in this paper. The surface contact angle and the Zeta potential of the coal macerals were measured both with and without the treat- ment. The results show that the surface wettability of SFF (Shenfu Fusain) and SFV (Shenfu Vitrain) can be changed by the microwave treatment. An increase in the difference in surface wettability of SFF and SFV causes in a subsequent increase in the enrichment of inertinite and vitrinite. The results of the Zeta potential measurements show that the surface potentials of SFF and SFV are also changed by the treatment. | Zhao Wei Yang Fusheng Li Yuangang Qu Jianlin Zhou Anning | 2011 | Mining Science and Technology2011,21,6: | 15
Energy Storage Modeling of Inverter Air Conditioning for Output Optimizing of Wind Generation in the Electricity Market显示文摘In order to achieve the compatibility of the air conditioning(AC)loads with the current dispatch models, this pa-per utilizes demand response(DR)technology as energy storage resources to optimize the aggregator’s behaviors in the real-time market for less economic loss caused by the fluctuations of wind power. The inverter AC,as a typical demand response resource,is constructed as a power type battery model(PTBM)and a capacity type battery model(CTBM)according to the different control methods, which are expressed through a circuit model and mathematical model to describe the energy storage characteristics of ACs.Moreover, the comparisons between the PTBM and CTBM are given analytically by their response speed, power&energy capacity and the cost of control, which will be helpful to guide the associated operators to choose the appropriate models to take part in demand response.Considering that the wind generation fluctuates frequently and greatly, the PTBM is chosen to take part of the demand response for output optimizing of the wind generation. The simulation results demonstrate that PTBMs can work in the way of conventional batteries(CBs)to optimize wind generation in the real-time market. | Meng Song Ciwei Gao Jianlin Yang Huaguang Yan | 2018 | CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2018,4,3: | 8
High-Q resonances governed by the quasi-bound states in the continuum in all-dielectric metasurfaces显示文摘The realization of high-Q resonances in a silicon metasurface with various broken-symmetry blocks is reported. Theoretical analysis reveals that the sharp resonances in the metasurfaces originate from symmetry-protected bound in the continuum(BIC) and the magnetic dipole dominates these peculiar states. A smaller size of the defect in the broken-symmetry block gives rise to the resonance with a larger Q factor. Importantly, this relationship can be tuned by changing the structural parameter, resulting from the modulation of the topological configuration of BICs. Consequently, a Q factor of more than 3,000 can be easily achieved by optimizing dimensions of the nanostructure. At this sharp resonance, the intensity of the third harmonic generation signal in the patterned structure can be 368 times larger than that of the flat silicon film. The proposed strategy and underlying theory can open up new avenues to realize ultrasharp resonances, which may promote the development of the potential meta-devices for nonlinearity, lasing action, and sensing. | Cizhe Fang Qiyu Yang Qingchen Yuan Xuetao Gan Jianlin Zhao Yao Shao Yan Liu Genquan Han Yue Hao | 2021 | Opto-Electronic Advances2021,4,6: | 8
Human ACE2-Functionalized Gold“Virus-Trap”Nanostructures for Accurate Capture of SARS-CoV-2 and Single-Virus SERS Detection显示文摘The current COVID-19 pandemic urges the extremely sensitive and prompt detection of SARS-CoV-2 virus. Here,we present a Human Angiotensin-converting-enzyme 2(ACE2)-functionalized gold“virus traps”nanostructure as an extremely sensitive SERS biosensor,to selectively capture and rapidly detect S-protein expressed coronavirus, such as the current SARS-CoV-2 in the contaminated water, down to the single-virus level.Such a SERS sensor features extraordinary 106-fold virus enrichment originating from high-affinity of ACE2 with S protein as well as“virus-traps”composed of oblique gold nanoneedles, and 109-fold enhancement of Raman signals originating from multi-component SERS effects.Furthermore, the identification standard of virus signals is established by machine-learning and identification techniques, resulting in an especially low detection limit of 80 copies mL^(−1) for the simulated contaminated water by SARS-CoV-2 virus with complex circumstance as short as 5 min, which is of great significance for achieving real-time monitoring and early warning of coronavirus.Moreover,here-developed method can be used to establish the identification standard for future unknown coronavirus, and immediately enable extremely sensitive and rapid detection of novel virus. | Yong Yang Yusi Peng Chenglong Lin Li Long Jingying Hu Jun He Hui Zeng Zhengren Huang Zhi-Yuan Li Masaki Tanemura Jianlin Shi John R.Lombardi Xiaoying Luo | 2021 | Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,7: | 6
Biochemistry of mammalian ferritins in the regulation of cellular iron homeostasis and oxidative responses显示文摘Ferritin,an iron-storage protein, regulates cellular iron metabolism and oxidative stress. The ferritin structure is characterized as a spherical cage, inside which large amounts of iron are deposited in a safe, compact and bioavailable form. All ferritins readily catalyze Fe(II)oxidation by peroxides at the ferroxidase center to prevent free Fe(II)from participating in oxygen free radical formation via Fenton chemistry. Thus, ferritin is generally recognized as a cytoprotective stratagem against intracellular oxidative damage. The expression of cytosolic ferritins is usually regulated by iron status and oxidative stress at both the transcriptional and post-transcriptional levels. The mechanism of ferritin-mediated iron recycling is far from clarified, though nuclear receptor co-activator 4(NCOA4)was recently identified as a cargo receptor for ferritin-based lysosomal degradation.Cytosolic ferritins are heteropolymers assembled by H-and L-chains in different proportions. The mitochondrial ferritins are homopolymers and distributed in restricted tissues. They play protective roles in mitochondria where heme-and Fe/S-enzymes are synthesized and high levels of ROS are produced.Genetic ferritin disorders are mainly related to the L-chain mutations, which generally cause severe movement diseases. This review is focused on the biochemistry and function of mammalian intracellular ferritin as the major iron-storage and anti-oxidation protein. | Jianlin Zhang Xuehui Chen Juanji Hong Aifa Tang Yang Liu Ni Xie Guohui Nie Xiyun Yan Minmin Liang | 2021 | Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,3: | 5

One compound approach combining factor-analytic model with AMMI and GGE biplot to improve multi-environment trials analysis显示文摘To improve multi-environmental trial(MET)analysis,a compound method—which combines factor analytic(FA)model with additive main effect and multiplicative interaction(AMMI)and genotype main effect plus genotype-by-environment interaction(GGE)biplot—was conducted in this study. The diameter at breast height of 36 open-pollinated(OP)families of Pinus taeda at six sites in South China was used as a raw dataset. The best linear unbiased prediction(BLUP)data of all individual trees in each site was obtained by fitting the spatial effects with the FA method from raw data. The raw data and BLUP data were analyzed and compared by using the AMMI and GGE biplot.BLUP results showed that the six sites were heterogeneous and spatial variation could be effectively fitted by spatial analysis with the FA method.AMMI analysis identified that two datasets had highly significant effects on the site, family, and their interactions, while BLUP data had a smaller residual error, but higher variation explaining ability and more credible stability than raw data.GGE biplot results revealed that raw data and BLUP data had different results in mega-environment delineation,test-environment evaluation, and genotype evaluation. In addition,BLUP data results were more reasonable due to the stronger analytical ability of the first two principal components. Our study suggests that the compound method combing the FA method with the AMMI and GGE biplot could improve the analysis result of MET data in Pinus teada as it was more reliable than direct AMMI and GGE biplot analysis on raw data. | Weihua Zhang Jianlin Hu Yuanmu Yang Yuanzhen Lin | 2020 | Journal of Forestry Research2020,31,1: | 4
Tooth loss inhibits neurogenesis in the dentate gyrus of adult mice显示文摘Tooth loss has been shown to affect learning and memory in mice and increases the risk of Alzheimer's disease. The dentate gyrus is strongly associated with cognitive function. This study hypothesized that tooth loss affects neurons in the dentate gyrus. Adult male mice were randomly assigned to either the tooth loss group or normal control group. In the tooth loss group, the left maxillary and mandibular molars were extracted. Normal control mice did not receive any intervention. Immunofluorescence staining revealed that the density and absorbance of doublecortin- and neuronal nuclear antigen-positive cells were lower in the tooth loss group than in the normal control group. These data suggest that tooth loss may inhibit neurogenesis in the dentate gyrus of adult mice. | Shaochen Su Tao Qi Baoli Su Huibin Gu Jianlin Wang Lan Yang | 2014 | Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,17: | 4
Mo/Si multilayers used for the EUV normal incidence solar telescope显示文摘This paper first reviews an EUV normal incidence solar telescope that we have developed in our lab. The telescope is composed of four EUV telescopes and the operation wavelengths are 13.0 nm, 17.1 nm, 19.5 nm, and 30.4 nm. These four wavelengths, fundamental to the research of the solar activity and the atmosphere dynamics, are always chosen by the EUV normal incidence solar telescope. In the EUV region, almost all materials have strong absorption, so optics used in this region must be coated by the multilayer. The Mo/Si multilayers used for the EUV normal incidence solar telescope are designed and fabricated by the magnetron sputtering coating machine. The characteristics of these multilayers, such as reflectivity and thermal stability at wavelengths of 13.0 nm, 17.1 nm, 19.5 nm and 30.4 nm, are also described. All the multilayers were measured by a hard X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and an EUV/soft X-ray reflectometer (EXRR) before and after heating (in a vacuum chamber) at 100℃ for 24 hours and at 200℃ for 1 hour and 4 hours. The results show that Mo/Si multilayers have high reflectivity at 13.0 nm, 17.1 nm, and 19.5 nm but low at 30.4 nm. We found no change in the reflectivity and center wavelength of these multilayers by comparing the reflectivity curves before and after heating. This suggests the thermal stability of Mo/Si multilayers may meet our requirement in future solar observation missions. | LIU Zhen YANG Lin CHEN Bo CHEN Bin CAO JianLin | 2011 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2011,54,3: | 4
Effects of Corrosion Inhibitors on Lubrication Performance of Rolling Oil for Copper Foil显示文摘The 2,5-bis(ethyldisulfanyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole(T561), benzotriazole(BTA), 1-N, N-bis(2-ethylhexyl) aminomethyl-4-methyl-1h-benzotriazole(IRGAMET39) and 1-[N, N-bis(2-ethylhexyl) aminomethyl] methyl benzotriazole(TTLX) have been evaluated as corrosion inhibitors used in rolling oil for cold rolling of copper foil. The MRS-10A four-ball friction and wear tests have been carried out to compare their tribological properties, and the lubricating performance of rolling oils has been studied through rolling experiments. The oil sample containing IRGAMET 39 has the same PB value as that one containing T561, with the coefficient of friction increased by 35.6% and wear scar diameter decreased by 4%. The minimum rolling gauge has been studied after rolling lubrication, but the results show that inhibitors have no effect on it. Scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and energy dispersive spectrometry(EDS) analyses have indicated that the inhibitor is adsorbed on the copper surface to prevent copper from being corroded easily. In addition, the LEXT OLS4000 laser confocal microscopy has been used to observe the foil surface which shows that the streaks of foil surface are clear, the scratches are shallow and the surface failure is improved effectively. | Xiong Sang Sun Jianlin Zeng Yingfeng Xu Yang | 2014 | China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2014,16,2: | 4
Molecular architecture of the luminal ring of the Xenopus laevis nuclear pore complex显示文摘The nuclear pore complex(NPC)mediates the flow of substances between the nucleus and cytoplasm in eukaryotic cells. Here we report the cryo-electron tomography(cryo-ET)structure of the luminal ring(LR)of the NPC from Xenopus laevis oocyte. The observed key structural features of the LR are independently confirmed by single-particle cryo-electron microscopy(cryo-EM)analysis.The LR comprises eight butterfly-shaped subunits, each containing two symmetric wings. Each wing consists of four elongated, tubular protomers.Within the LR subunit, the eight protomers form a Finger domain, which directly contacts the fusion between the inner and outer nuclear membranes and a Grid domain, which serves as a rigid base for the Finger domain. Two neighboring LR subunits interact with each other through the lateral edges of their wings to constitute a Bumper domain, which displays two major conformations and appears to cushion neighboring NPCs.Our study reveals previously unknown features of the LR and potentially explains the elastic property of the NPC. | Yanqing Zhang Sai Li Chao Zeng Gaoxingyu Huang Xuechen Zhu Qifan Wang Kunpeng Wang Qiang Zhou Chuangye Yan Wusheng Zhang Guangwen Yang Minhao Liu Qinghua Tao Jianlin Lei Yigong Shi | 2020 | Cell Research2020,30,6: | 4
Investigation of the Microstructure of Rolled Semi-Solid Steel显示文摘In this paper, spring steel-60Si2Mn and stainless steel-1Cr18Ni9Ti were rolled one pass in the semi-solid state. The microstructural evolution during rolling of the steels with different solid fraction was investigated. The experimental results showed that the manner of liquid and solid phases flowing and deforming was different. During rolling, most of solid phases remained in the center of the rolled specimens, while liquid phase flowed to the edge, which resulted in the macrosegregation of liquid and solid phases. Only the amount of solid fraction reached a certain value, were the solid phases deformed and flattened. | Renbo SONG, Yonglin KANG, Jianlin SUN, Xiongfei YANG, Aimin ZHAO and Weimin MAODepartment of Metal Forming, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing 100083, China | 2002 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2002,18,3: | 4

Magnitude of modulation of gene expression in aneuploid maize depends on the extent of genomic imbalance显示文摘Aneuploidy has profound effects on an organism, typically more so than polyploidy, and the basis of this contrast is not fully understood.A dosage series of the maize long arm of chromosome 1(1L)was used to compa re relative global gene expression in diffe rent types and degrees of aneuploidy to gain insights into how the magnitude of genomic imbalance as well as hypoploidy affects global gene expression. While previously available methods require a selective examination of specific genes,RNA sequencing provides a whole-genome view of gene expression in aneuploids. Most studies of global aneuploidy effects have concentrated on individual types of aneuploids because multiple dose aneuploidies of the same genomic region are difficult to produce in most model genetic organisms. The genetic toolkit of maize allows the examination of multiple ploidies and 1-4 doses of chromosome arms. Thus,a detailed examination of expression changes both on the varied chromosome arms and elsewhere in the genome is possible,in both hypoploids and hyperploids, compared with euploid controls.Previous studies observed the inverse trans effect,in which genes not varied in DNA dosage were expressed in a negative relationship to the varied chromosomal region. This response was also the major type of changes found globally in this study. Many genes varied in dosage showed proportional expression changes, though some were seen to be partly or fully dosage compensated. It was also found that the effects of aneuploidy were progressive, with more severe aneuploids producing effects of greater magnitude. | Adam F·Johnson Jie Hou Hua Yang Xiaowen Shi Chen Chen Md Soliman Islam Tieming Ji Jianlin Cheng James A·Birchler | 2020 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2020,47,2: | 3
Azimuthal vector beam exciting silver triangular nanoprisms for increasing the performance of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy显示文摘Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy(SERS)with high-sensitivity performance is a very necessary detection technology. Here,we present a method for increasing the performance of SERS based on silver triangular nanoprism arrays(ATNAs)vertically excited via a focused azimuthal vector beam(AVB).The ATNA substrates with different structural parameters are prepared based on the traditional self-assembled and modified film lift-off technique.Based on a theoretical model established adopting the structural parameters of the ATNA substrates, theoretical simulation results show that AVB excitation can achieve greater electric-field enhancement than linearly polarized beam(LPB)excitation.Experimental result indicates that SERS sensitivity obtained via AVB excitation is 10^-13M(1 M=1 mol/L)using rhodamine 6 G(R6 G)as the target analyte, which is 2 orders of magnitude lower than that of LPB excitation(10^-11M).Meanwhile,the uniformity and reproducibility of the ATNA substrates are examined using Raman mapping and batch-to-batch measurement, respectively, and the Raman enhancement factor is calculated to be^3.3×10^7.This method of vector light field excitation may be used to improve the SERS performance of the substrates in fields of ultra-sensitive Raman detection. | LU ZHANG WENDING ZHANG FANFAN LU ZHIQIANG YANG TIANYANG XUE MIN LIU CHAO MENG PENG LI DONG MAO TING MEI JIANLIN ZHAO | 2019 | Photonics Research2019,7,12: | 3
Study on Surface Adsorption and Inhibition Behavior of Corrosion Inhibitors Contained in Copper Foil Rolling Oil显示文摘Adsorption and inhibition behavior of 2,5-bis(ethyldisulfanyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole(DMTDA) and N-((6-methyl-1H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazol-1-yl)methyl)-N-octyloctan-1-amine(EAMBA) as corrosion inhibitors contained in copper foil rolling oil have been investigated using gravimetric and electrochemical techniques. Meanwhile, scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and energy dispersive spectrometer(EDS) have been employed to observe the surface topography and analyze the components on copper foil. The results show that the rolling oil containing DMTDA and EAMBA can significantly decrease the dissolution rate and increase the inhibition efficiency of samples, especially in the case of best compounded rolling oil system. The SEM and EDS investigations also confirmed that the protection of the copper foil surface is achieved by strong adsorption of the molecules which can prevent copper from being corroded easily. Reactivity descriptors of the corrosion inhibitors have been calculated by the density functional theory(DFT) and the reactivity has been analyzed through the molecular orbital and Fukui indices. Active sites of inhibitor are mainly concentrated on the ring and the polar functional groups, and in the meanwhile, the distribution is helpful to form coordination and backbonding among molecules and then to form stable adsorption on the metal surface. And this work provides theoretical evidence for the selection of corrosion inhibitors contained in copper foil rolling oil. | Xiong Sang Sun Jianlin Jiang Wei Xu Yang Zeng Yingfeng Xia Lei | 2015 | China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2015,17,1: | 3
SERS mechanism of nickel electrode显示文摘Based on the theoretical model for the two-dimensional arrays, the dependence of the surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) effect of nickel electrode, especially the ordered two-dimensional nanowires, on the incident photon energy in the range of 0.6-4.0 eV are analyzed, and most of the works are focused on the effect of the shape of nano-particles. The theoretical analysis shows that nickel can exhibit weak surface-enhanced Raman scattering effect when the surface is roughened properly, and the enhancement factor is about 102-104. Compared to the typical highly SERS-active Ag substrate, the SERS of nickel does not show the character of surface plasma resonance of the metal. The calculated result shows that the lightning-rod effect contributes the most to the SERS of Ni nanowires in the EM mechanism. The theoretical prediction is in good agreement with the experimental result qualitatively and may be instructive to finding a new method to fabricate the SERS-active transition-metal substrate. | YANG Zhilin WU Deyin YAO Jianlin HU Jianqiang REN Bin ZHOU Haiguang TIAN Zhongqun | 2002 | Chinese Science Bulletin2002,47,23: | 2
Microbial community structure analyses and cultivable denitrifier isolation of Myriophyllum aquaticum constructed wetland under low C/N ratio显示文摘With the rapid expansion of livestock production, the amount of livestock wastewater accumulated rapidly.Lack of biodegradable organic matter makes denitrification of livestock wastewater after anaerobic digestion more difficult. In this study,Myriophyllum aquaticum constructed wetlands(CWs)with efficient nitrogen removal performance were established under different carbon/nitrogen(C/N)ratios.Analysis of community composition reveals the change of M.aquaticum CWs in microbial community structure with C/N ratios. The proportion of Proteobacteria which is one of the dominant phyla among denitrifier communities increased significantly under low C/N ratio conditions.Besides,to obtain cultivable denitrifier that could be added into CWs in situ,33 strains belonging to phylum Proteobacteria were isolated from efficient M.aquaticum CWs,while the best-performing denitrification strain M3-1 was identified as Bacillus velezensis JT3-1(GenBank No.CP032506.1).Redundancy analysis and quadratic models showed that C/N ratio had significant effects on disposal of nitrate(NO_(3)^(−)-N)and the strains isolated could perform well in denitrification when C/N ratio is relatively low.In addition, they have relatively wide ranges of carbon sources, temperature and a high NO_(3)^(−)removal rate of 9.12 mg/(L·hr)at elevated concentrations of 800 mg/L nitrate. Thus, strains isolated from M.aquaticum CWs with low C/N ratio have a practical application value in the treatment of nitrate-containing wastewater. These denitrifying bacteria could be added to CWs to enhance nitrogen removal efficiency of CWs for livestock wastewater with low C/N ratio in the future. | Jialiang Zuo Lina Xu Jianlin Guo Shengjun Xu Shuanglong Ma Cancan Jiang Dongmin Yang Danhua Wang Xuliang Zhuang | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,5: | 2
