Wnt/b-catenin signaling plays an ever-expanding role in stem cell self-renewal,tumorigenesis and cancer chemoresistance显示文摘Wnt signaling transduces evolutionarily conserved pathways which play important roles in initiating and regulating a diverse range of cellular activities, including cell proliferation, calcium homeostasis, and cell polarity. The role of Wnt signaling in controlling cell proliferation and stem cell self-renewal is primarily carried out through the canonical pathway, which is the best-characterized the multiple Wnt signaling branches. The past 10 years has seen a rapid expansion in our understanding of the complexity of this pathway,as many new components of Wnt signaling have been identified and linked to signaling regulation, stem cell functions, and adult tissue homeostasis.Additionally,a substantial body of evidence links Wnt signaling to tumorigenesis of cancer types and implicates it in the development of cancer drug resistance. Thus,a better understanding of the mechanisms by which dysregulation of Wnt signaling precedes the development and progression of human cancer may hasten the development of pathway inhibitors to augment current therapy. This review summarizes and synthesizes our current knowledge of the canonical Wnt pathway in development and disease. We begin with an overview of the components of the canonical Wnt signaling pathway and delve into the role this pathway has been shown to play in stemness, tumorigenesis, and cancer drug resistance.Ultimately,we hope to present an organized collection of evidence implicating Wnt signaling in tumorigenesis and chemoresistance to facilitate the pursuit of Wnt pathway modulators that may improve outcomes of cancers in which Wnt signaling contributes to aggressive disease and/or treatment resistance.Maryam K.Mohammed Connie Shao Jing Wang Qiang Wei Xin Wang Zachary Collier Shengli Tang Hao Liu Fugui Zhang Jiayi Huang Dan Guo Minpeng Lu Feng Liu Jianxiang Liu Chao Ma Lewis L.Shi Aravind Athiviraham Tong-Chuan He Michael J.Lee 2016Genes & Diseases2016,3,1:70
Age-related rhesus macaque models of COVID-19显示文摘Background:Since December 2019,an outbreak of the Corona Virus disease 2019(COVID-19)caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV-2)in Wuhan,China, has become a public health emergency of international concern. The high fatality of aged cases caused by SARS-CoV-2 was a need to explore the possible age-related phenomena with non-human primate models. Methods:Three 3-5 years old and two 15 years old rhesus macaques were intratracheally infected with SARS-CoV-2,and then analyzed by clinical signs, viral replication, chest X-ray,histopathological changes and immune response. Results:Viral replication of nasopharyngeal swabs, anal swabs and lung in old monkeys was more active than that in young monkeys for 14 days after SARS-CoV-2 challenge.Monkeys developed typical interstitial pneumonia characterized by thickened alveolar septum accompanied with inflammation and edema, notably, old monkeys exhibited diffuse severe interstitial pneumonia.Viral antigens were detected mainly in alveolar epithelial cells and macrophages.Conclusion:SARS-CoV-2 caused more severe interstitial pneumonia in old monkeys than that in young monkeys.Rhesus macaque models infected with SARS-CoV-2 provided insight into the pathogenic mechanism and facilitated the development of vaccines and therapeutics against SARS-CoV-2 infection.Pin Yu Feifei Qi Yanfeng Xu Fengdi Li Peipei Liu Jiayi Liu Linlin Bao Wei Deng Hong Gao Zhiguang Xiang Chong Xiao Qi Lv Shuran Gong Jiangning Liu Zhiqi Song Yajin Qu Jing Xue Qiang Wei Mingya Liu Guanpeng Wang Shunyi Wang Haisheng Yu Xing Liu Baoying Huang Wenling Wang Li Zhao Huijuan Wang Fei Ye Weimin Zhou Wei Zhen Jun Han Guizhen Wu Qi Jin Jianwei Wang Wenjie Tan Chuan Qin 2020Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2020,3,1:22
Observation of ocean current response to 1998 Hurricane Georges in the Gulf of Mexico显示文摘The ocean current response to a hurricane on the shelf-break is examined. The study area is the DeSoto Canyon in the northeast Gulf of Mexico, and the event is the passage of 1998 Hurricane Georges with a maximum wind speed of 49 m/s. The data sets used for analy- sis consist of the mooring data taken by the Field Program of the DeSoto Canyon Eddy Intrusion Study, and simultaneous winds ob- served by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) Moored Buoy 42040. Time-depth ocean current energy density images derived from the observed data show that the ocean currents respond almost immediately to the hurricane with important differ- ences on and off the shelf. On the shelf, in the shallow water of 100 m, the disturbance penetrates rapidly downward to the bottom and forms two energy peaks, the major peak is located in the mixed layer and the secondary one in the lower layer. The response dissipates quickly after external forcing disappears. Off the shelf, in the deep water, the major disturbance energy seems to be trapped in the mixed layer with a trailing oscillation; although the disturbance signals may still be observed at the depths of 500 and 1 290 m. Verti- cal dispersion analysis reveals that the near-initial wave packet generated off the shelf consists of two modes. One is a barotropic wave mode characterized by a fast decay rate of velocity amplitude of 0.020 s-1, and the other is baroclinic wave mode characterized by a slow decay rate of 0.006 9 s-1. The band-pass-filtering and empirical function techniques are employed to the frequency analysis. The results indicate that all frequencies shift above the local inertial frequency. On the shelf, the average frequency is 1.04f in the mixed layer, close to the diagnosed frequency of the first baroclinic mode, and the average frequency increases to 1.07f in the thermocline. Off the shelf, all frequencies are a little smaller than the diagnosed frequency of the first mode. The average frequency decreases from 1.035f in the mixed layer to 1.02f in the thermocline, implying a trend for the shift in frequency of the oscillations towards f with the depth.ZHENG Quanan LAI Ronald J HUANG Nortlen E PAN Jiayi LIU W Timothy 2006Acta Oceanologica Sinica2006,25,1:20
Evolution of vegetation and climate since the last glacial maximum recorded at Dahu peat site, South China显示文摘Sporopollen analysis on a 346 cm peat record at Dahu, Jiangxi, chronologically constrained by 16 AMS 14C datings, provides an opportunity to reconstruct the vegetation evolution stages responding to cli-mate change in South China since the last glacial maximum. The result shows that during 18330-15630 cal a B.P., broad-leaved forest dominated the area, corresponding to mild, cool and fairly humid climate. At the interval of 15630-11600 cal a B.P., several evergreen broad-leaved species appeared within the broad-leaved forest, indicating moderate and humid condition. During early Holocene, broad-leaved evergreen forest community was constructed as Castanopsis/Lithorcarpus principally developed, suggesting a warm and humid scenario until 6000 cal a B. P. Since 6000 cal a B. P., abrupt forest deterioration happened with an contemporary increase of fern and herb communities, repre-senting a turnover to relatively cool and dry condition and as well, possible impact from human activi-ties. Meanwhile, several relatively cool and dry events can be identified in the sporopollen record, they can be correlated to the North Atlantic Heinrich event, YD and Holocene millennial-scale oscillations, implying that the low latitude climate was coupled with high latitude influences. Moreover, the varia-tions of temperature and humidity since LGM at Dahu were much smaller when compared with the re-cords in north monsoonal China.XIAO JiaYi Lü HaiBo ZHOU WeiJian ZHAO ZhiJun HAO RuiHui 2007Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,8:15
Chronic intermittent hypoxia induces cardiac inflammation and dysfunction in a rat obstructive sleep apnea model显示文摘Chronic intermittent hypoxia is considered to play an important role in cardiovascular pathogenesis during the development of obstructive sleep apnea(OSA).We used a well-described OSA rat model induced with simultaneous intermittent hypoxia.Male Sprague Dawley rats were individually placed into plexiglass chambers with air pressure and components were electronically controlled. The rats were exposed to intermittent hypoxia 8 hours daily for 5weeks.The changes of cardiac structure and function were examined by ultrasound. The cardiac pathology, apoptosis, and fibrosis were analyzed by H&E staining,TUNNEL assay, and picosirius staining, respectively. The expression of inflammation and fibrosis marker genes was analyzed by quantitative real-time PCR and Western blot.Chronic intermittent hypoxia/low pressure resulted in significant increase of left ventricular internal diameters(LVIDs),endsystolic volume(ESV),end-diastolic volume(EDV),and blood lactate level and marked reduction in ejection fraction and fractional shortening.Chronic intermittent hypoxia increased TUNNEL-positive myocytes, disrupted normal arrangement of cardiac fibers, and increased Sirius stained collagen fibers. The expression levels of hypoxia induced factor(HIF)-l α,NF-κB,IL-6,and matrix metallopeptidase 2(MMP-2) were significantly increased in the heart of rats exposed to chronic intermittent hypoxia. In conclusion, the left ventricular function was adversely affected by chronic intermittent hypoxia, which is associated with increased expression of HIF-lα and NF-κB signaling molecules and development of cardiac inflammation, apoptosis and fibrosis.Qin Wei Yeping Bian Fuchao Yu Qiang Zhang Guanghao Zhang Yang Li Songsong Song Xiaomei Ren Jiayi Tong 2016The Journal of Biomedical Research2016,30,6:15
Targeting cancer stem cell pathways for cancer therapy显示文摘Since cancer stem cells(CSCs)were first identified in leukemia in 1994,they have been considered promising therapeutic targets for cancer therapy. These cells have self-renewal capacity and differentiation potential and contribute to multiple tumor malignancies, such as recurrence, metastasis, heterogeneity, multidrug resistance, and radiation resistance. The biological activities of CSCs are regulated by several pluripotent transcription factors, such as OCT4,Sox2,Nanog,KLF4,and MYC.In addition, many intracellular signaling pathways, such as Wnt,NF-κB(nuclear factor-κB),Notch,Hedgehog,JAK-STAT(Janus kinase/signal transducers and activators of transcription),PI3K/AKT/mTOR(phosphoinositide 3-kinase/AKT/mammalian target of rapamycin),TGF(transforming growth factor)/SMAD,and PPAR(peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor),as well as extracellular factors, such as vascular niches,hypoxia,tumor-associated macrophages,cancer-associated fibroblasts,cancer-associated mesenchymal stem cells, extracellular matrix, and exosomes, have been shown to be very important regulators of CSCs.Molecules, vaccines, antibodies, and CAR-T(chimeric antigen receptor T cell)cells have been developed to specifically target CSCs,and some of these factors are already undergoing clinical trials. This review summarizes the characterization and identification of CSCs,depicts major factors and pathways that regulate CSC development, and discusses potential targeted therapy for CSCs.Liqun Yang Pengfei Shi Gaichao Zhao Jie Xu Wen Peng Jiayi Zhang Guanghui Zhang Xiaowen Wang Zhen Dong Fei Chen Hongjuan Cui 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:12
Essential roles of exosome and circRNA_101093 on ferroptosis desensitization in lung adenocarcinoma显示文摘Background:Resistance to ferroptosis,a regulated cell death caused by irondependent excessive accumulation of lipid peroxides, has recently been linked to lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD).Intracellular antioxidant systems are required for protection against ferroptosis. The purpose of the present studywas to investigate whether and how extracellular system desensitizes LUAD cells to ferroptosis. Methods:Established human lung fibroblasts MRC-5,WI38,and human LUAD H1650,PC9,H1975,H358,A549,and H1299 cell lines, tumor and matched normal adjacent tissues of LUAD,and plasma from healthy individuals and LUAD patients were used in this study.Immunohistochemistry and immunoblotting were used to analyze protein expression, and quantitative reverse transcription-PCR was used to analyze mRNA expression.Cell viability, cell death, and the lipid reactive oxygen species generationwere measured to evaluate the responses to ferroptosis.Exosomes were observed using transmission electron microscope. The localization of arachidonic acid(AA)was detected using click chemistry labeling followed by confocal microscopy.Interactions between RNAs and proteins were detected using RNA pull-down,RNA immunoprecipitation and photoactivatable ribonucleoside-enhanced crosslinking and immunoprecipitation methods.Proteomic analysis was used to investigate RNA-regulated proteins, and metabolomic analysis was performed to analyze metabolites.Cellderived xenograft,patient-derived xenograft,cell-implanted intrapulmonary LUAD mouse models and plasma/tissue specimens from LUAD patients were used to validate the molecular mechanism. Results:Plasma exosome from LUAD patients specifically reduced lipid peroxidation and desensitized LUAD cells to ferroptosis.A potential explanation is that exosomal circRNA_101093(cir93)maintained an elevation in intracellular cir93 in LUAD to modulate AA,a poly-unsaturated fatty acid critical for ferroptosisassociated increased peroxidation in the plasma membrane.Mechanistically,cir93 interacted with and increased fatty acid-binding protein 3(FABP3),which transported AA and facilitated its reaction with taurine. Thus, global AA was reduced, whereas N-arachidonoyl taurine(NAT,the product of AA and taurine)was induced.Notably, the role of NAT in suppressing AA incorporation into the plasma membrane was also revealed. In pre-clinical in vivo models, reducing exosome improved ferroptosis-based treatment. Conclusion:Exosome and cir93 are essential for desensitizing LUAD cells to ferroptosis, and blocking exosome may be helpful for future LUAD treatment.Xiao Zhang Yunhua Xu Lifang Ma Keke Yu Yongjie Niu Xin Xu Yi Shi Susu Guo Xiangfei Xue Yikun Wang Shiyu Qiu Jiangtao Cui Hong Wang Xiaoting Tian Yayou Miao Fanyu Meng Yongxia Qiao Yongchun Yu Jiayi Wang 2022Cancer Communications2022,42,4:10

SwinFusion: Cross-domain Long-range Learning for General Image Fusion via Swin Transformer显示文摘This study proposes a novel general image fusion framework based on cross-domain long-range learning and Swin Transformer, termed as SwinFusion. On the one hand,an attention-guided cross-domain module is devised to achieve sufficient integration of complementary information and global interaction.More specifically, the proposed method involves an intra-domain fusion unit based on self-attention and an interdomain fusion unit based on cross-attention,which mine and integrate long dependencies within the same domain and across domains.Through long-range dependency modeling, the network is able to fully implement domain-specific information extraction and cross-domain complementary information integration as well as maintaining the appropriate apparent intensity from a global perspective. In particular,we introduce the shifted windows mechanism into the self-attention and cross-attention,which allows our model to receive images with arbitrary sizes. On the other hand, the multi-scene image fusion problems are generalized to a unified framework with structure maintenance, detail preservation, and proper intensity control. Moreover,an elaborate loss function, consisting of SSIM loss, texture loss, and intensity loss, drives the network to preserve abundant texture details and structural information,as well as presenting optimal apparent intensity.Extensive experiments on both multi-modal image fusion and digital photography image fusion demonstrate the superiority of our SwinFusion compared to the state-of-theart unified image fusion algorithms and task-specific alternatives.Implementation code and pre-trained weights can be accessed at https://github.com/Linfeng-Tang/SwinFusion.Jiayi Ma Linfeng Tang Fan Fan Jun Huang Xiaoguang Mei Yong Ma 2022IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica2022,9,7:8
Gut microbiota drives macrophage-dependent self-renewal of intestinal stem cells via niche enteric serotonergic neurons显示文摘Lgr5+intestinal stem cells(ISCs)reside within specialized niches at the crypt base and harbor self-renewal and differentiation capacities.ISCs in the crypt base are sustained by their surrounding niche for precise modulation of self-renewal and differentiation. However, how intestinal cells in the crypt niche and microbiota in enteric cavity coordinately regulate ISC stemness remains unclear. Here,we show that ISCs are regulated by microbiota and niche enteric serotonergic neurons. The gut microbiota metabolite valeric acid promotes Tph2 expression in enteric serotonergic neurons via blocking the recruitment of the NuRD complex onto Tph2 promoter.5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)in turn activates PGE2 production in a PGE2+macrophage subset through its receptors HTR2A/3 A;and PGE2 via binding its receptors EP1/EP4,promotes Wnt/β-catenin signaling in ISCs to promote their self-renewal.Our findings illustrate a complex crosstalk among microbiota, intestinal nerve cells, intestinal immune cells and ISCs,revealing a new layer of ISC regulation by niche cells and microbiota.Pingping Zhu Tiankun Lu Jiayi Wu Dongdong Fan Benyu Liu Xiaoxiao Zhu Hui Guo Ying Du Feng Liu Yong Tian Zusen Fan 2022Cell Research2022,32,6:8
The Assessment of Global Surface Temperature Change from 1850s:The C-LSAT2.0 Ensemble and the CMST-Interim Datasets显示文摘Based on C-LSAT2.0,using high-and low-frequency components reconstruction methods, combined with observation constraint masking,a reconstructed C-LSAT2.0 with 756 ensemble members from the 1850s to 2018 has been developed. These ensemble versions have been merged with the ERSSTv5 ensemble dataset, and an upgraded version of the CMSTInterim dataset with 5°×5°resolution has been developed. The CMST-Interim dataset has significantly improved the coverage rate of global surface temperature data. After reconstruction, the data coverage before 1950 increased from 78%−81%of the original CMST to 81%−89%.The total coverage after 1955 reached about 93%,including more than 98%in the Northern Hemisphere and 81%−89%in the Southern Hemisphere.Through the reconstruction ensemble experiments with different parameters,a good basis is provided for more systematic uncertainty assessment of C-LSAT2.0 and CMSTInterim. In comparison with the original CMST,the global mean surface temperatures are estimated to be cooler in the second half of 19th century and warmer during the 21st century, which shows that the global warming trend is further amplified. The global warming trends are updated from 0.085±0.004℃(10 yr)^(–1)and 0.128±0.006℃(10 yr)^(–1)to 0.089±0.004℃(10 yr)^(–1)and 0.137±0.007℃(10 yr)^(–1),respectively,since the start and the second half of 20th century.Wenbin SUN Qingxiang LI Boyin HUANG Jiayi CHENG Zhaoyang SONG Haiyan LI Wenjie DONG Panmao ZHAI Phil JONES 2021Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,5:8
The Mechanisms and Applications of Quorum Sensing(QS) and Quorum Quenching(QQ)显示文摘Quorum sensing(QS)is a regulatory system that regulates the behavior of microbial populations by sensing the concentration of signal molecules that are spontaneously produced and released by bacteria. The strategy of blocking the QS system and inhibiting the production of virulence factors is termed as quorum quenching(QQ).This strategy attenuates virulence without killing the pathogens, thereby weakening the selective pressure on pathogens and postponing the evolution of QQ-mediated drug resistance. In recent years, there have been significant theoretical and practical developments in the field of QS and QQ.In particular, with the development and utilization of marine resources, more and more marine microbial species have been found to be regulated by these two mechanisms, further promoting the research progress of QS and QQ.In this review,we described the diversity of QS signals and QS-related regulatory systems, and then introduced mechanisms related to QS interference, with particular emphasis on the description of natural QQ enzymes and chemicals acting as QS inhibitors. Finally, the exploitation of quorum sensing quenchers and the practical application of QQ were introduced, while some QQ strategies were proposed as promising tools in different fields such as medicine, aquaculture, agriculture and biological pollution prevention areas.ZHANG Jingjing FENG Tao WANG Jiayi WANG Yan ZHANG Xiao-Hua 2019Journal of Ocean University of China2019,18,6:8
Double-shell structure of Al_3(Zr,Sc) precipitate induced by thermomechanical treatment of Al-Zr-Sc alloy cable显示文摘A spheroidal Al_3(Zr,Sc) precipitate with a double-shell structure, comprising a Sc-enriched core enveloped by a Zr-enriched inner shell and a Sc-enriched outer shell(~9 nm in thickness), appears in an Al-0.2 Zr-0.1 Sc alloy cable after thermomechanical treatment. The average diameter of the spheroidal Al_3(Zr,Sc) precipitate is approximately 80 nm. The double-shelled Al_3(Zr,Sc) precipitate presents three different interfaces and is semi-coherent with the Al matrix. 15The scientific connotation of oil and gas formations under deep fluids and organic-inorganic interaction显示文摘As a relatively stable craton block in the earth system, the petroliferous basin is influenced by the evolution of the earth system from the early development environment of source rocks, hydrocarbon formation, and reservoir dissolution to hydrocarbon accumulation or destruction. As a link between the internal and external factors of the basin, deep fluids run through the whole process of hydrocarbon formation and accumulation through organic-inorganic interaction. The nutrients carried by deep fluids promote the bloom of hydrocarbon-generating organisms and extra addition of carbon and hydrogen source, which are beneficial to the development of high-quality source rock and enhancement of the hydrocarbon generation potential. The energy carried by the deep fluid promotes the early maturation of the source rock and facilitates the hydrocarbon generation by activation and hydrogenation in high-mature hydrocarbon sources. The dissolution alteration of carbonate rocks and clastic reservoirs by CO_2-rich deep fluids improves the deep reservoir space, thus extending the oil and gas reservoir space into greater depth. The extraction of deeply retained crude oil by deep supercritical CO_2 and the displacement of CH_4 in shale have both improved the hydrocarbon fluidity in deep and tight reservoirs. Simultaneously, the energy and material carried by deep fluids(C, H, and catalytic substances) not only induce inorganic CH_4 formation by Fischer-Tropsch(F-T) synthesis and 'hydrothermal petroleum' generation from organic matter by thermal activity but also cause the hydrothermal alteration of crude oil from organic sources. Therefore, from the perspective of the interaction of the earth's sphere, deep fluids not only input a significant amount of exogenous C and H into sedimentary basins but also improve the reservoir space for oil and gas, as well as their enrichment and accumulation efficiencies.Quanyou LIU Dongya ZHU Qingqiang MENG Jiayi LIU Xiaoqi WU Bing ZHOU Qi FU Zhijun JIN 2019Science China Earth Sciences2019,62,3:8
Deep neural network for remote-sensing image interpretation: status and perspectives显示文摘Deep neural networks(D N N s)refer to end-to-end mappings(i.e.from data to information)by stacking a large num ber of filters learned from massive samples.By courtesy of the comprehensive Earth observation platforms and convenient data access,remote-sensing practitioners are dealing with very large and ever-growing data volumes, which call for fast and transferrable machine-learning technologies for the large-scale geospatial information mining[l].While some progress has been made, research in deep-learning-based remote-sensing image interpretation is still in its infancy, mainly subject to insufficient annotation samples, high complexity of the model, and lack of in-depth integration between deep learning and remote sensing.Construction of diverse and representative remote-sensing benchmark datasets, further investigation on task-driven deep learning(i.e.the integration of deep learning and remotesensing physical mechanisms)and the efforts towards promoting the practicality of the networks should be considered in the agenda. In this context.Jiayi Li Xin Huang Jianya Gong 2019National Science Review2019,6,6:7
Battery Separators Functionalized with Edge-Rich MoS2/C Hollow Microspheres for the Uniform Deposition of Li2S in High-Performance Lithium-Sulfur Batteries显示文摘As promising energy storage systems,lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries have attracted significant attention because of their ultra-high energy densities.However,Li-S battery suffers problems related to the complex phase conversion that occurs during the charge-discharge process, particularly the deposition of solid Li2S from the liquid-phase polysulfides, which greatly limits its practical application. In this paper,edge-rich MoS2/C hollow microspheres(Edg-MoS2/C HMs)were designed and used to functionalize separator for Li-S battery, resulting in the uniform deposition of Li2S.The microspheres were fabricated through the facile hydrothermal treatment of MoO3-aniline nanowires and a subsequent carbonization process. The obtained Edg-MoS2/C HMs have a strong chemical absorption capability and high density of Li2S binding sites, and exhibit excellent electrocatalytic performance and can effectively hinder the polysulfide shuttle effect and guide the uniform nucleation and growth of Li2S.Furthermore,we demonstrate that the Edg-MoS2/C HMs can effectively regulate the deposition of Li2S and significantly improve the reversibility of the phase conversion of the active sulfur species, especially at high sulfur loadings and high C-rates.As a result,a cell containing a separator functionalized with Edg-MoS2/C HMs exhibited an initial discharge capacity of 935 mAh g-1 at 1.0 C and maintained a capacity of 494 mAh g-1 after 1000 cycles with a sulfur loading of 1.7 mg cm-2.Impressively,at a high sulfur loading of 6.1 mg cm-2 and high rate of 0.5 C,the cell still delivered a high reversible discharge capacity of 478 mAh g-1 after 300 cycles. This work provides fresh insights into energy storage systems related to complex phase conversions.Nan Zheng Guangyu Jiang Xiao Chen Jiayi Mao Nan Jiang Yongsheng Li 2019Nano-Micro Letters2019,11,3:7
Recent progress and perspective of electrochemical CO_(2) reduction towards C_(2)-C_(5) products over non-precious metal heterogeneous electrocatalysts显示文摘Electroreduction of carbon dioxide(CO_(2)ER)into value-added chemical compounds has presented as a promising route for renewable carbon cycle, which alleviates global warming concern.Compared with traditional C1 products,high-value multicarbon products converted from atmospheric CO_(2) via CO_(2)ER have attracted dramatic interest due to their significant economic efficiency, however desired catalytic selectivity of multicarbon products is difficult to achieve because of the high thermodynamic barriers and complex reaction pathways. To replace currently used precious-metal based catalysts, developing highly efficient and precious-metal-free CO_(2)ER catalysts based on earth abundant elements is the top priority to meet the requirements of industrialization.Although certain progress has been made, there are still few systematic reports on the non-precious metal heterogeneous(NPMH)CO_(2)ER electrocatalysts for efficient conversion of CO_(2) to multicarbon products.Herein,we summarize the latest research advances in recent developments of NPMH electrocatalysts, including nanostructured Cu,Cu-based bimetallic catalysts,Cu-based complexes, and carbon-based Cu-free catalysts for electroreduction of CO_(2) into high-value multicarbon products. The corresponding CO_(2)ER performances are discussed in the order of the types of multicarbon products, specifically for ethanol(C2H5OH),ethylene(C2H4),ethane(C2H6),acetic acid(CH3COOH),propanol(C3H7OH),and other O^(2+)products with a special attention paid to understand the structure-activity relationship. Moreover, key strategies and characterization techniques for catalytic mechanism insights, and unsolved issues and future trends for enhancing the CO_(2)ER performance of NPMH electrocatalysts are highlighted, which provides a constructive guidance on the development of CO_(2)ER electrocatalysts with high activity and selectivity for multicarbon products.Jiayi Chen Tingting Wang Zhongjian Li Bin Yang Qinghua Zhang Lecheng Lei Pingyun Feng Yang Hou 2021Nano Research2021,14,9:7
Regulation of the inflammatory cycle by a controllable release hydrogel for eliminating postoperative inflammation after discectomy显示文摘Surgery is the final choice for most patients with intervertebral disc degeneration(IDD).Operation-caused trauma will cause inflammation in the intervertebral disc.Serious inflammation will cause tissue defects and induce tissue degeneration,IDD recurrence and the occurrence of other diseases. Therefore,we proposed a scheme to treat recurrence after discectomy by inhibiting inflammation with an aspirin(ASP)-loaded hydrogel to restore the mechanical stability of the spine and relieve local inflammation.ASP-liposomes(ASP-Lips)were incorporated into a photocrosslinkable gelatin-methacryloyl(GelMA)via mixing. This material can effectively alleviate inflammation by inhibiting the release of high mobility group box 1(HMGB1)from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. We further assessed the expression of inflammatory cytokines, such as interleukin 6(IL-6)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and degeneration-related factors, such as type II collagen(COL-2),Aggrecan,matrix metallopeptidases-3(MMP-3),MMP-13,a disintegrin and metalloproteinase with thrombospondin motifs-4(ADAMTS-4)and ADAMTS-5 in rat nucleus pulpous cells. The level of IDD was analyzed through H&E,safranin-O staining and immunohistochemistry in rabbit samples. In vitro,we found that ASP-Lip@GelMA treatment significantly decreased inflammatory cytokines,MMP-3 and-13,and ADAMTS-4 and-5 and up-regulated COL-2 and Aggrecan via the inhibited release of HMGB-1 from the nucleus. In vivo,ASP-Lip@GelMA can effectively inhibit inflammation of local tissue after disc surgery and fill local tissue defects. This composite hydrogel system is a promising way to treat the recurrence of IDD after surgery without persistent complications.Yu Liu Jiacheng Du Peng Peng Ruoyu Cheng Jiayi Lin Congxin Xu Huilin Yang Wenguo Cui Haiqing Mao Yuling Li Dechun Geng 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,1:6
Response regimes of nonlinear energy harvesters with a resistorinductor resonant circuit by complexification-averaging method显示文摘In this paper, the steady-state response regimes of nonlinear energy harvesters with a resistor-inductor resonant circuit are theoretically investigated. The complexification averaging(CA) method is used to theoretically analyze the energy harvesting performance and reduce the motion equations into a set of first-order differential equations. The amplitudes and phases of both the response displacement and the output voltage are derived, and the corresponding stability conditions are determined. The response regimes are studied with the variation of nonlinear stiffness coefficients and coupling parameters, which are verified by the time domain analysis. The frequency island phenomenon is found and analyzed. Additionally, the backbone curve for deducing the extreme vibration frequency and amplitude is derived. Simultaneously, the analytical expressions of the switching points(critical amplitude and frequency) to identify the hardening and softening properties are established. Accordingly, a criterion is given to determine the occurrence of the jump phenomenon, and its effectiveness is verified. Overall, this paper presents an in-depth theoretical analysis of nonlinear energy harvesters with a resistor-inductor resonant circuit. It presents the theoretical framework and guidance for more extensive evaluations and understanding the theoretical analysis of nonlinear energy harvesters with external circuits.HUANG DongMei CHEN JiaYi ZHOU ShengXi FANG XueLai LI Wei 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,6:6
