| 1 | Response of phytoliths in Leymus chinensis to the simulation of elevated global CO_2 concentrations in Songnen Grassland,China显示文摘Measuring the response of terrestrial ecosystems to elevated CO2 concentrations is very important for understanding the effects of global change. In this study,OTC (open top chambers) were used to simulate elevated CO2 concentrations in the Songnen Grass-land. As well,phytoliths in Leymus chinensis were extracted to study the relationships between phytoliths and CO2 concentration. The results show the rondel is abundant in Leymus chinensis,while the trapeziform polylobate is rare. When phytolith production is increased,the rondel phytoliths grow bigger and the proportions of the different phytolith types changes under high CO2 concentration. These types include elongate hollow,acicular hair cell,square and laminate and are only observed in samples grown under high CO2 concentrations. | 2 | The contribution of root respiration to soil CO_2 efflux in Puccinellia tenuiflora dominated community in a semi-arid meadow steppe显示文摘In this study, the linear regression between soil respiration rate and root biomass was adopted to estimate the contribution of root respiration to total soil respiration in Puccinellia tenuiftora dominated community of a semi-arid meadow steppe in northeast China. The soil respiration rate reached the maximum value 2.45 μmol m-2·s-1 in late June and the minimum value 0.39 μmol m-2· s-1 in late September. Soil temperature is the major environmental factor controlling the seasonal variation of soil respiration. The root biomass ranged from 0.54 to 0.97 kg m-2, showing insignificant seasonal variation. Microbial biomass C reached the maximum value 0.50 g m-2 in mid August, presenting the least within-site variation. The pattern of seasonal change in root respiration rate was different from that in microbial respiration. Root respiration rate ranged from 0.19 μmol m-2·s-1 in May, to the maximum value 1.39 μmol m·2s-1 in late June, then down to 0.28 μmol m-2·s-1 in late September; whereas, microbial respiration rate ranged from 0.61 μmol m-2·s-1 in May, to the maximum value 1.27 μmol m-2·s-1 in July, then down to 0.11 μmol m-2·s-1 in late September. There was a significant exponential correlation between microbial respiration rate and soil temperature, whereas not so for root respiration rate. | 3 | An improved form of smoothed particle hydrodynamics method for crack propagation simulation applied in rock mechanics显示文摘The simulation of crack propagation processes in rock engineering has been not only a research hot spot among scholars but also a challenge.Based on this background,a new numerical method named improved kernel of smoothed particle hydrodynamics(IKSPH)has been put forward.By improving the kernel function in the traditional smoothed particle hydrodynamics(SPH)method,the brittle fracture characteristics of the base particles are realized.The particle domain searching method(PDSM)has also been put forward to generate the arbitrary complex fissure networks.Three numerical examples are analyzed to validate the efficiency of IKSPH and PDSM,which can correctly reveal the morphology of wing crack and the laws of crack coalescence compared with previous experimental and numerical studies.Finally,a rock slope model with complex joints is numerically simulated and the progressive failure processes are exhibited,which indicates that the IKSPH method can be well applied to rock mechanics engineering.The research results showed that IKSPH method reduces the programming difficulties and avoids the traditional grid distortion,which can provide some references for the application of IKSPH to rock mechanics engineering and the understanding of rock fracture mechanisms. | Shuyang Yu Xuhua Ren Jixun Zhang Haijun Wang Zhaohua Sun | 2021 | International Journal of Mining Science and Technology2021,31,3: | 6 |
| 4 | A 14 nucleotide deletion mutation in the coding region of the PpBBX24 gene is associated with the red skin of“Zaosu Red”pear(Pyrus pyrifolia White Pear Group):a deletion in the PpBBX24 gene is associated with the red skin of pear显示文摘Red skin is an important quality trait for pear fruits and is determined by the concentration and composition of anthocyanins.The regulatory mechanism underlying anthocyanin accumulation is a popular topic in fruit research.Red mutants are ideal materials for studying the molecular mechanism of color diversity in pear.Although several red pear mutants have been cultivated and are in production,no exact locus containing the responsible genetic mutation has been identified.In this study,by combining the bulked segregant analysis with whole-genome sequencing,we identified a 14 nucleotide deletion mutation in the coding region of the PpBBX24 gene from the red pear mutant“Zaosu Red”.We further verified that the deletion was present only in the red mutant of“Zaosu”and in its red offspring,which was different from that which occurred in other red pear fruits.This deletion results in a coding frame shift such that there is an early termination of the PpBBX24 gene and loss of key NLS and VP domains from PpBBX24.The lost domains may reduce or alter the normal function of PpBBX24.In addition,we found that the transcript levels of the PpMYB10 and PpHY5 genes in red samples were significantly higher than those in green samples,whereas the results for the normal-type PpBBX24 gene were the opposite.We ultimately revealed that the 14 nucleotide deletion mutation in the coding region of the PpBBX24 gene is associated with the red skin of the“Zaosu Red”pear.This finding of somatic mutational events will be helpful for breeding new red pear cultivars and for understanding the regulatory mechanisms involved in pear skin pigmentation. | Chunqing Ou Xiaoli Zhang Fei Wang Liyi Zhang Yanjie Zhang Ming Fang Jiahong Wang Jixun Wang Shuling Jiang Zhihong Zhang | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 4 |
| 5 | Study on embedded length of piles for slope reinforced with one row of piles显示文摘The embedded length of anti-slide piles for slope is analyzed by three-dimensional elastoplastic shear strength reduction method. The effect of embedded pile length on the factor of safety and pile behavior is analyzed. Furthermore, the effects of pile spacing, pile head conditions, pile bending stiffness and soil properties on length and behavior of pile are also analyzed. The results show that the pile spacing and the pile head conditions have significant influences on the critical embedded length of pile. It is found that the critical embedded length of pile, beyond which the factor of safety does not increase, increases with the decrease in pile spacing. The smaller the pile spacing is, the larger the integrity of the reinforced slope will be. | 6 | Genetical study on the parthenogenesis in Laminaria japonica显示文摘The parthenogenesis and natural doubling of chromosomes in wild type female gametophytes of Laminaria japonica were studied. The results indicate that not all the female gametophytes from the wild type hybrid parent can propagate through parthenogenesis. Most parthenosporophytes can mature, their spores germinate into gametophytes, the latter then developed into female sporophytes. To form these parthenosporophytes the natural doubling of chromosomes occurred mainly at the first and second cell divisions of the spores. | 7 | Isolated Cells of Porphyra yezoensis Cultured on Solid Medium显示文摘Vegetative cells of Porphyra yezoensis are isolated with sea snail enzyme and cultured on the solidified agar medium. The results of experiments show that the isolated cells can survive,divide and regenerate well on the medium solidified with agar. The first division on the solid medium starts after 7 days' culture, 4 days later than the liquid culture. The survival rate of isolated cells is 71.3% on the solid medium, lower than the 86.2% of that in seawater.Thalli, thalloids,conchocelis, spermatangia and multicellular masses are developed on the solid/medium in the first month, slowly but normally. Spermatangia sacs disappear within 4 weeks. Without adding nutrient liquid onto the surface of solid medium or injecting seawater under the agar layer in order to keep moisture, the thalli and cell groups release monospores to form new thalli instead of enlarging their areas after 5 weeks' culturing. Some monospores regenerate new thalli. Other monospores lose their pigments and minimize their volume and divide quickly to form light pink calli. After 16 weeks, numerous calli can be seen on the solid medium and after 24 weeks' culturing, almost only calli and conchocelis can be seen. | 9 | Responses of Phytolith in Guinea Grass(Leymus chinensis) Leaves to Simulated Warming,Nitrogen Deposition and Elevated CO_2 Concentration in Songnen Grassland,Northeast China显示文摘Deposited in plant cells and their intercellular space,phytoliths,a special form of silica,could be used to determine information on plant structure and physiology especially their size and content.With the hypothesis that phytolith in plant would change under variable climate and environment,the dominant plant species in Songnen grassland,guinea grass(Leymus chinensis),was treated by an open-top chamber(OTC) to elevate CO2 concentration,infrared heaters,and artificial nitrogen(N) addition for three years from 2006–2008.Phytoliths were extracted by wet-ashing method and analyzed by variance analysis and so on.We found that the responses to elevated CO2 are complicated,and warming is positive while N addition is negative to the deposition of phytoliths in L.chinensis leaves.Especially,warming could reduce the negative impact of N addition on phytolith in L.chinensis.The short cell's taxonomic in graminea is significant because of no disappearance with simulated environmental changes.The phytolith originated in the long cell and plant intercellular space are more sensitive to elevated CO2 concentration,warming,and N addition,and could become some new indicators for environmental changes.In conclusion,different phytolith types have various responses to simulated warming,N addition and elevated CO2 concentration. | LI Bo FENG Yingying GUO Jixun JIE Dongmei SHI Lianxuan | 2015 | Chinese Geographical Science2015,25,4: | 3 |
| 10 | Elasto-plastic analysis of the surrounding rock mass in circular tunnel based on the generalized nonlinear unified strength theory显示文摘The present paper aims to establish a versatile strength theory suitable for elasto-plastic analysis of underground tunnel surrounding rock. In order to analyze the effects of intermediate principal stress and the rock properties on its deformation and failure of rock mass, the generalized nonlinear unified strength theory and elasto-plastic mechanics are used to deduce analytic solution of the radius and stress of tunnel plastic zone and the periphery displacement of tunnel under uniform ground stress field. The results show that: intermediate principal stress coefficient b has significant effect on the plastic range,the magnitude of stress and surrounding rock pressure. | 11 | Mycorrhizal colonization of chenopods and its influencing factors in different saline habitats, China显示文摘Chenopodiaceae is one of the most important families in arid and saline environments. Several studies have observed the mycorrhizal structure in Chenopodiaceae plants(i.e., chenopods), but the mycorrhizal colonization status of chenopods in saline habitats and the influencing factors are still not well understood. The mycorrhizal colonization of twenty chenopod species in three different saline habitats(a saline alkaline meadow in the Songnen Plain of northeastern China, a saline desert in the Junggar Basin of northwestern China, and a saline alpine meadow in the Tibetan Plateau of western China) and the chenopod-associated environmental factors(including soil moisture, soil available phosphorous(P) concentration, pH, and salt content) were analyzed. Our results showed that approximately 60% of the studied chenopods were colonized by arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM) fungi with a colonization percentage ranging from 5% to 33%. Structural analysis of mycorrhizal association indicated that vesicles were quite common, while arbuscules and hyphal coils were relatively rare. | 12 | Role ofβ(FeA1)nanoparticles in abnormal grain growth in the annealing of cast Cu-Al-Mn-Fe shape memory alloys显示文摘In this study,the low-cost production of Cu-AI-Mn-Fe shape memory alloy single crystals exceeding 46 mm by abnormal grain growth was realized only through annealing their cast alloys.The results show that the mis-orientation formed during annealing may be responsible for such abnormal grain growth process.It was con-firmed that this misorientation resulted from the dissolution of bec B(FeAI)nanoparticles during heat treatment at a sufficiently temperature of approximately 1173 K.The rate of migration of the abnormal grain boundary was experimentally measured to be approximately9.3 x 10^-m s^-1within 2 min of the commencement of abnormal grain growth.Additionally,the range of composition of the alloys that can lead to abnormal grain growth was determined.When the Cu-13.0AI-6.5Mn-3.2Fe single crystal close to the[100]direction was deformed to a pre-strain of 12%,full shape recovery happened without any residual strain.At that time,the superelastic strain was approximately 9%.Such a superelastic characteristic remained nearly constant over 50 cycles,showing excellent fatigue resistance.The superelastic properties of the present Cu-13.0AI-6.5Mn-3.2Fe single crystal are compared to those of commercial Ni-Ti-based shape memory alloys.Therefore,it can be considered as a new kind of superelastic material having practical applications.The obtained results should be of great significance in the development of Cu based shape memory alloys.Furthermore,it is expected that a similar microstructure can be designed for the production of more metallic single crystals. | Shuiyuan Yang Xinyu Qing Jixun Zhang Lipeng Guo Shen Hong Mingpei Li Jinbin Zhang Cuiping Wang Xingjun Liu | 2020 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2020,30,4: | 2 |
| 13 | Study on Cryopreservation of Porphyra yezoensis Conchocelis显示文摘Cryopreservation of Porphyra yezoensis conchocelis was conducted with cryoprotectants and a proposed pretreatment procedure and thawing methods explored. Six cryoprotectants combined by DMSO with ethylene glycol(EG),propylene glycol(PEG),sorbitol and sucrose were developed. The effect of prefreezing at - 40℃ or -20℃ for different time durations was compared and the thawing methods were screened. It was shown that the cryoprotectant including 10% DMSO with 0.5 molL-1 sorbitol exhib-ited the optimal effect. The ideal pretreatment was that conchocelis segments were stayed for 20 min at - 40℃ before stored in liquid nitrogen,and 40℃ water bath was proper for quick thawing.
