Scalp-cluster acupuncture with electrical stimulation can improve motor and living ability in convalescent patients with post-stroke hemiplegia显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To determine whether patients with post-stroke hemiplegia could benefit from long-term treatment with scalp cluster(SC) acupuncture combined with electrical stimulation(ES)and to evaluate the feasibility of this treatment to improve motor and living abilities.METHODS: Twenty patients were enrolled and divided into two groups: SC acupuncture and SC acupuncture with ES(SC and SC + ES, respectively). All participants also received rehabilitation training. All participants were blindly evaluated using the Fugl-Meyer assessment scale for motor ability, the modified Barthel Index for living ability, and a scale for the degree of neurological deficits. Outcome was assessed at three points before randomized grouping, at the beginning or treatment, and after4 weeks of treatment.RESULTS: Following 4 weeks treatment, all the patients exhibited significant improvements in aspects of motor ability, living ability, and the severity of neurological deficits. The experimental group(SC + ES) scored higher on the Fugl-Meyer assessment scale(68 ± 12) and the modified Barthel Index(49 ± 9) than the control(SC) group(50 ± 13,36 ± 13, respectively).CONCLUSION: When patients with post-stroke hemiplegia are treated using SC acupuncture with ES, motor and living ability can improve more than if they were treated with SC acupuncture alone.Wang Xiaohong Zhang Qi Cui Baojuan Sun Junhua Ye Lan Huang Laigang Wang Daoqing 2018Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2018,38,3:7
Design and Experimental Research on Seedling Pick-Up Mechanism of Planetary Gear Train with Combined Non-circular Gear Transmission显示文摘Currently, transplanting mechanisms for dryland plug seedlings in China are mainly semiautomatic and have low efficiency. The rotary seedling pick-up mechanism with a planetary gear train for non-uniform intermittent transmission, and a concave and convex locking arc device, has a large rigid impact. To solve these problems, according to the design requirements for a dryland plug seedling transplanting mechanism, a rotary seedling pick-up mechanism of a planetary gear train with combined non-circular gear transmission of incomplete eccentric circular and noncircular gears was proposed. This has the characteristics of two-times greater fluctuation of the transmission ratio in a cycle, and can achieve a non-uniform continuous drive. Through analysis of the working principle of the seedling pick-up mechanism, its kinematics model was established. The human–computer interaction optimization method and self-developed computer-aided analysis and optimization software were used to obtain a set of parameters that satisfy the operation requirements of the seedling pick-up mechanism. According to the optimized parameters, the structure of the seedling pick-up mechanism was designed, a virtual prototype of the mechanism was created, and a physical prototype was manufactured. A virtual motion simulation of the mechanism was performed, high-speed photographic kinematics tests were conducted, and the kinematic properties of the physical prototype were investigated, whereby the correctness of the theoretical model and the optimized design of the mechanism were verified. Further, laboratory seedling pick-up tests were conducted. The success ratio of seedling pick-up was 93.8% when the seedling pick-up efficiency of the mechanism was 60 plants per minute per row, indicating that the mechanism has a high efficiency and success ratio for seedling pick-up and can be applied to a dryland plug seedling transplanter.Yaxin Yu Jikun Liu Bingliang Ye Gaohong Yu Xuejun Jin Liang Sun Junhua Tong 2019Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2019,32,3:7
Face Masks in the New COVID-19 Normal: Materials, Testing, and Perspectives显示文摘The increasing prevalence of infectious diseases in recent decades has posed a serious threat to public health.Routes of transmission differ, but the respiratory droplet or airborne route has the greatest potential to disrupt social intercourse, while being amenable to prevention by the humble facemask.Different types of masks give different levels of protection to the user. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has even resulted in a global shortage of face masks and the raw materials that go into them, driving individuals to self-produce masks from household items. At the same time, research has been accelerated towards improving the quality and performance of face masks,e.g.,by introducing properties such as antimicrobial activity and superhydrophobicity. This review will cover mask-wearing from the public health perspective, the technical details of commercial and home-made masks, and recent advances in mask engineering, disinfection, and materials and discuss the sustainability of mask-wearing and mask production into the future.Ming Hui Chua Weiren Cheng Shermin Simin Goh Junhua Kong Bing Li Jason Y.CLim Lu Mao Suxi Wang Kun Xue Le Yang Enyi Ye Kangyi Zhang Wun Chet Davy Cheong Beng Hoon Tan Zibiao Li Ban Hock Tan Xian Jun Loh 2020Research2020,,1:5
TWO-DIMENSIONAL SEDIMENT MATHEMATICAL MODEL FORUNSTEADY FLOW IN THE LOWER YELLOW RIVER显示文摘The theoretical frame of a new two-dimensional sediment mathematical model is established on the basis of the resent research achievements about the sediment transport law of the Yellow River. The formulas of sediment carrying capacity of flow and river roughness, which reflect the features of the Yellow River, are applied to it. The finite element scheme is employed to deduce the discretized equations of the model. The pre-estimated-verified substitution is used to solve them. Verifications of the model are carried out with the flood occurring on Jinan reach of the Yellow River during the flood season in 1976. The calculation results with the model are in good agreement with the measured data.ZHANG Hongwu LI Dongfeng XU Yuxin ZHANG Junhua (1 Project (No. 39890200) Supported by the National Nature Science Foundation Commission and the Ministry of Water Conservancy 2 Yellow River Institute of Hydraulic Research, Zhengzhou 450003, China 3 Ye 1999International Journal of Sediment Research1999,14,2:5
Impact of Different Diets on Adult Tri-Spine Horseshoe Crab,Tachypleus tridentatus显示文摘Effective culture and management of adult tri-spine horseshoe crab,Tachypleus tridentatus can ensure that stock enhancement programs and aquaculture systems are maintained. To explore suitable feed for animals during the breeding season,Pacific oyster(Ostrea gigas)(oyster group;OG)and frozen sharpbelly fish(Hemiculter leucisculus)(frozen fish group;FG)were selected to feed 20 T.tridentatus male and female pairs, respectively. At the end of the experiment, intestinal samples were obtained to measure digestive enzymes activities. The intestinal flora were determined by 16S r DNA sequencing. No eggs were observed in the FG and one T.tridentatus adult died.No animals died in the OG,and 9.7×10;eggs were obtained. These results show that oysters are more suitable for the development and reproduction of adult T.tridentatus than frozen fish.Additionally, the digestive enzyme activity analysis revealed that animals in the OG exhibited higher protein digestibility than those in the FG,but no significant differences in lipid and carbohydrate uptake were observed between the groups.Furthermore, the intestinal flora analysis showed that operational taxonomic units(OTUs)and the Chao1 index were significantly higher in the OG than in the FG,but no significant difference was observed in the Shannon or Simpson indices between the groups. Our data indicate that the oyster diet improved the intestinal microbial diversity of T.tridentatus.We hypothesize that nutrients, such as oyster-based taurine, proteins, and highly unsaturated fatty acids, improve protease activity in the T.tridentatus digestive tract, alter the intestinal floral structure, and improve the reproductive performance of T.tridentatus.YING Ziwei BAO Yuyuan LI Yinkang YE Guoling ZHANG Shuhuan XU Peng ZHU Junhua XIE Xiaoyong 2022Journal of Ocean University of China2022,21,3:3

Structure and Function Analysis of Canine ZP3 Protein显示文摘To further study the biological function and mechanism of ZP3 in domestic canine( Canis lupus familiaris),the coding sequence( CDS) of ZP3 gene was searched from NCBI database using bioinformatics method, and further transformed into protein sequence via MAGE software. The primary, secondary and tertiary structure of protein was predicted with Ex PASy,BLAST and DNA Star bioinformatics online software and program; the evolution and selected sites of ZP3 protein extracted from 11 species were analyzed using PAML software; the conservation of ZP3 protein gene was analyzed with Predictprotein and Weblogo program; the tertiary structure of protein was edited by Python and Py MOL. The results showed that canine ZP3 gene encoded 426 amino acids, and the encoding product was a hydrophilic transmembrane protein with signal peptide; the 1^(st)-23^(rd)amino acids were signal peptide areas, and transmembrane domain distributed in the α-helix area of the 386th-408 thamino acids; four loci were affected by phosphorylation, and these phosphorylation sites might be associated with signal transduction; there were nine protein binding sites on ZP domain; a high variation region was found in 325-385 section of ZP3,and most of phosphorylation and selected amino acid sites were distributed in this area. This indicated that the area had experienced rapid evolution, suggesting that ZP domain and the high variation area might be involved in interaction of sperm and egg.Zhao Qintao Zhang Jianhua Ye Junhua 2017Animal Husbandry and Feed Science2017,9,2:0
Renin--angiotensin system inhibitor is associated with the reduced risk of all-cause mortality in COVID-19 among patients with/without hypertension显示文摘Consecutively hospitalized patients with confirmed coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)in Wuhan,China were retrospectively enrolled from January 2020 to March 2020 to investigate the association between the use of renin–angiotensin system inhibitor(RAS-I)and the outcome of this disease.Associations between the use of RAS-I(angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor(ACEI)or angiotensin receptor blocker(ARB)),ACEI,and ARB and in-hospital mortality were analyzed using multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression models in overall and subgroup of hypertension status.A total of 2771 patients with COVID-19 were included, with moderate and severe cases accounting for 45.0%and 36.5%,respectively.A total of 195(7.0%)patients died.RAS-I(hazard ratio(HR)=0.499,95%confidence interval(CI)0.325–0.767)and ARB(HR=0.410,95%CI 0.240–0.700)use was associated with a reduced risk of all-cause mortality among patients with COVID-19.For patients with hypertension,RAS-I and ARB applications were also associated with a reduced risk of mortality with HR of 0.352(95%CI 0.162–0.764)and 0.279(95%CI 0.115–0.677),respectively.RAS-I exhibited protective effects on the survival outcome of COVID-19.ARB use was associated with a reduced risk of all-cause mortality among patients with COVID-19.Huai-yu Wang Suyuan Peng Zhanghui Ye Pengfei Li Qing Li Xuanyu Shi Rui Zeng Ying Yao Fan He Junhua Li Liu Liu Shuwang Ge Xianjun Ke Zhibin Zhou Gang Xu Ming-hui Zhao Haibo Wang Luxia Zhang Erdan Dong 2022Frontiers of Medicine2022,16,1:0
High-performance Sb:SnO_2 Compact Thin Film Based on Surfactant-free and Binder-free Sb:Sn_3O_4 Suspension显示文摘Surfactant-free and binder-free antimony-doped tin oxide(ATO) transparent conducting thin films were fabricated through spin coating and rapid annealing processes,in which nanosheets were assembled into a compact structure via self-contracting high pressure. The mechanism of this compact thin film formation was further proposed and analyzed. The compact ATO thin film had a low root mean square(RMS) roughness of 5.03 nm.This surfactant-free and binder-free compact ATO thin film delivered low resistivity of 3.04×10^(-2) Ω cm,stable resistivity which only increased 13%after exposing in 65%RH air for half a month, high transmittance of 92.70%at 550 nm,and high band gap energy of 4.07 eV.This effective strategy will provide new insight into the synthesis of low-cost and high-performance compact thin films.Junhua Zhao Ruiqin Tan Ye Yang Wei Xu Jia Li Wenfeng Shen Guoqiang Wu Xufeng Yang Weijie Song 2015Journal of Materials Science & Technology2015,31,8:0
Schaftoside inhibits 3CL^(pro)and PL^(pro)of SARS-CoV-2 virus and regulates immune response and inflammation of host cells for the treatment of COVID-19显示文摘It is an urgent demand worldwide to control the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)virus.The 3-chymotrypsin-like protease(3CL^(pro))and papain-like protease(PL^(pro))are key targets to discover SARS-CoV-2 inhibitors. After screening 12 Chinese herbal medicines and 125 compounds from licorice,we found that a popular natural product schaftoside inhibited 3CL^(pro)and PL^(pro)with IC_(50)values of 1.73±0.22 and 3.91±0.19μmol/L,respectively,and inhibited SARS CoV-2 virus in Vero E6 cells with EC_(50)of 11.83±3. 23μmol/L. Hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry analysis, quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics calculations, together with site-directed mutagenesis indicated the antiviral activities of schaftoside were related with non-covalent interactions with H41, G143 and R188 of3CLpro, and K157, E167 and A246 of PLpro. Moreover, proteomics analysis and cytokine assay revealed that schaftoside also regulated immune response and inflammation of the host cells. The antiinflammatory activities of schaftoside were confirmed on lipopolysaccharide-induced acute lung injury mice. Schaftoside showed good safety and pharmacokinetic property, and could be a promising drug candidate for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.Yang Yi Meng Zhang Heng Xue Rong Yu Yang-Oujie Bao Yi Kuang Yue Chai Wen Ma Jing Wang Xiaomeng Shi Wenzhe Li Wei Hong Junhua Li Elishiba Muturi Hongping Wei Joachim Wlodarz Szczepan Roszak Xue Qiao Hang Yang Min Ye 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,11:0
Brittle culm 25, which encodes an UDP-xylose synthase, affects cell wall properties in rice显示文摘Because plant mechanical strength influences plant growth and development, the regulatory mechanisms underlying cell-wall synthesis deserve investigation.Rice mutants are useful for such research. We have identified a novel brittle culm 25(bc25)mutant with reduced growth and partial sterility.BC25 encodes an UDP-glucuronic acid decarboxylase involved in cellulose synthesis and belongs to the UXS family.A single-nucleotide mutation in BC25 accounts for its altered cell morphology and cellwall composition.Transmission electron microscopy analysis showed that the thickness of the secondary cell wall was reduced in bc25.Monosaccharide analysis revealed significant increases in content of rhamnose and arabinose but not of other monosaccharides, indicating that BC25 was involved in xylose synthesis with some level of functional redundancy.Enzymatic assays suggested that BC25 functions with high activity to interconvert UDP-glucuronic acid(UDP-Glc A)and UDP-xylose.GUS staining showed that BC25 was ubiquitously expressed with higher expression in culm, root and sheath,in agreement with that shown by quantitative real-time(q RT)-PCR.RNA-seq further suggested that BC25 is involved in sugar metabolism. We conclude that BC25 strongly influences rice cell wall formation.Siliang Xu Mengchen Zhang Junhua Ye Dongxiu Hu Yuanyuan Zhang Zhen Li Junrong Liu Yanfei Sun Shan Wang Xiaoping Yuan Yue Feng Qun Xu Xinghua Wei Dali Zeng Yaolong Yang 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,3:0
DNA Contamination and Treatment Countermeasures in Dog DNA Testing Laboratory显示文摘DNA contamination will directly result in wrong conclusion of DNA test. The higher the detection accuracy is,the greater the harmful of contamination is.DNA contamination can be divided into sample contamination and PCR contamination. It is the most difficult to treat and prevent aerosol contamination of PCR.In order to prevent pollution, dog DNA testing laboratory should be divided into several independent areas, and the researchers should strictly obey the operation rules. In addition,we should design control experiment scientifically to track pollution sources and eliminate the contamination through technical means, once the pollution occurs.Wei Rongxing Ye Junhua 2017Animal Husbandry and Feed Science2017,9,6:0
Management and operation of extra-large Fangcang hospitals:experience and lessons from containing the highly contagious SARS-CoV-2 Omicron in Shanghai,China显示文摘Introduction Omicron is more contagious and stealthier than the previous strains. The basic reproduction number of Omicron is around 8–12,whereas that of the previous mainstream strain Delta is only 5–8[1].Omicron’s symptoms are relatively mild[2]compared with Delta’s symptoms;however,Omicron’s transmission ability is very strong, and its risk to children and the elderly remains high[3].In addition, the vaccine’s preventive effect on Omicron has weakened. Therefore,Omicron can easily cause a rapid outbreak in a city. The population density of megacities and the limited public health resources further exacerbate the difficulty of Omicron prevention and control.Yun Xian Chenhao Yu Minjie Chen Lin Zhang Xinyi Zheng Shijian Li Erzhen Chen Zhongwan Chen Weihua Chen Chaoying Wang Qingrong Xu Tao Han Weidong Ye Wenyi Xu Xu Zhuang Yu Zheng Min Chen Jun Qin Yu Feng Shun Wei Yiling Fan Zhiruo Zhang Junhua Zheng 2023Frontiers of Medicine2023,17,1:0
Licorice-saponin A3 is a broad-spectrum inhibitor for COVID-19 by targeting viral spike and anti-inflammation显示文摘Currently,human health due to corona virus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has been seriously threatened. The coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)spike(S)protein plays a crucial role in virus transmission and several S-based therapeutic approaches have been approved for the treatment of COVID-19.However,the efficacy is compromised by the SARS-CoV-2 evolvement and mutation. Here we report the SARS-CoV-2 S protein receptor-binding domain(RBD)inhibitor licorice-saponin A3(A3)could widely inhibit RBD of SARS-CoV-2 variants, including Beta,Delta, and Omicron BA.1,XBB and BQ1.1.Furthermore,A3 could potently inhibit SARS-CoV-2 Omicron virus in Vero E6 cells, with EC50 of 1.016μM.The mechanism was related to binding with Y453 of RBD determined by hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry(HDX-MS)analysis combined with quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics(QM/MM)simulations.Interestingly,phosphoproteomics analysis and multi fluorescent immunohistochemistry(mIHC)respectively indicated that A3 also inhibits host inflammation by directly modulating the JNK and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)pathways and rebalancing the corresponding immune dysregulation. This work supports A3 as a promising broad-spectrum small molecule drug candidate for COVID-19.Yang Yi Wenzhe Li Kefang Liu Heng Xue Rong Yu Meng Zhang Yang-Oujie Bao Xinyuan Lai Jingjing Fan Yuxi Huang Jing Wang Xiaomeng Shi Junhua Li Hongping Wei Kuanhui Xiang Linjie Li Rong Zhang Xin Zhao Xue Qiao Hang Yang Min Ye 2024Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2024,14,1:0
Enhanced figure of merit for famatinite Cu_(3)SbSe_(4)via band structure tuning and hierarchical architecture显示文摘The p-type Te-free Cu_(3)SbSe_(4)with famatinite structure is a potential candidate for thermoelectric materials due to the low cost and eco-friendly constituent elements. However, its strong bipolar effect and high lattice thermal conductivity(klat)are the main challenges for its performance enhancement.Herein,we report a new strategy to enhance its figure of merit zT~0.86 at 673 K for Cu_(3)Sb_(0.95)Fe_(0.05)Se_(2.8)S_(1.2)via band structure tuning and hierarchical architecture.Firstly,S substituted Se atoms in lattice can widen the band gap to alleviate the bipolar effect.Secondly,Fe doping in Sb site significantly increases the density of states, thus increasing the carrier effective mass, and obtaining a remarkably high Seebeck coefficient of~560 mV/K at 300 K.Moreover, the induced hierarchical architecture defects resulting in a minimum klat of~0.48 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)at 673 K.Consequently, the improved Seebeck coefficient combined with low thermal conductivity leads to an enhanced zT.Lijun Zhao Haolin Ye Xinmeng Wu Jian Yang Lihua Yu Zhongqi Shi Shahid Hussain Guanjun Qiao Junhua Xu Bangzhi Ge Li Wang Chongjian Zhou 2023Journal of Materiomics2023,9,6:0
