| 1 | Survival difference between EGFR Del19 and L858R mutant advanced non-small cell lung cancer patients receiving gefitinib:a propensity score matching analysis显示文摘Objective: Although superior clinical benefits of epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors(TKIs) in the treatment of advanced non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC) had been reported,the survival difference between exon 19 deletion(Del19) and exon 21 Leu858 Arg substitution(L858 R) remains controversial.The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences in progression-free survival(PFS) and overall survival(OS) between different EGFR mutant subtypes among advanced NSCLC patients receiving gefitinib.Methods: There were 204 advanced NSCLC patients with EGFR mutations treated with gefitinib were enrolled in this retrospective cohort study.Patients were divided into the EGFR Del19 group and the L858 R mutated group according to their mutant subtype.Propensity score matching(PSM) was conducted by using a nearest-neighbor algorithm(1:1) to adjust for demographical and clinical covariates.Survival curves were constructed with the Kaplan-Meier method and compared by using the log-rank test.Results: The PFS in Del19 group was similar to that in the L858 R group [before PSM 8.6 vs.7.2 months,P=0.072; after PSM 7.3 vs.7.2 months,P=0.155].No differences were detected in OS between the L858 R and the Del19 group(before PSM 17.8 vs.13.1 months,P=0.253; after PSM 16.9 vs.13.1 months,P=0.339).The Del19 group was significantly younger compared with the L858 R mutation group in age(P=0.015).Conclusions: No significant difference was found in the PFS or OS between the Del19 and L858 R mutant NSCLC patients receiving gefitinib.The age gap might contribute to the survival differences between Del19 and L858 R groups.PSM is of important value to the elimination of potential bias. | Minglei Zhuo Qiwen Zheng Jun Zhao Meina Wu Tongtong An Yuyan Wang Jianjie Li Shuhang Wang Jia Zhong Xue Yang Hanxiao Chen Bo Jia Zhi Dong Emei Gao JingjingWang Ziping Wang | 2017 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2017,29,6: | 4 |

| 3 | Thermal Behavior Analysis of Stacked-type Supercapacitors with Different Cell Structures显示文摘As a new energy storage element,supercapacitors have characteristics such as high power density,fast charge and discharge rates,green environmental protection,and long cycle life.Temperature is an important parameter of supercapacitors which significantly influences the stability of the supercapacitors.In this study,the finite element method is used to realize a coupling between a one-dimensional electrochemical model and a three-dimensional thermal model.Then,based on this model,the concept of limited cycle numbers is defined,and different unit quantities,unit size,and the effect of temperature under different temperature environments such as low temperature,room temperature,and high temperature on stacked-type supercapacitors is studied.Finally,stacked-type supercapacitors are compared with rolled-type supercapacitors considering the same cell size,density,and volume approximations.The simulation results show that the higher the number of packaging units,the lower is the limit cycle number.This phenomenon is more pronounced under high current than under low current conditions.Increasing the package size of the porous electrode or separator decreases the limiting cycles.Under the same unit volume scenario,improving the separator size proportion can accurately control the temperature rise at small current values.Under the same material,volume,and density approximations,the temperature rises slowly for stacked-type supercapacitors as compared to rolled-type supercapacitors.This phenomenon is more pronounced with an increase in current. | Yansong Li Sihan Wang Meina Zheng Jun Liu | 2018 | CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2018,4,1: | 2 |

| 8 | Land-Use Changes and Human Driving in and Near the Yangtze River Delta from 1995–2015显示文摘We analyzed the characteristics and trends of land-use change in and near the coastal zone of the Yangtze River Delta(YRD) during five periods(1995, 2000 2005, 2010, and 2015) using remotely sensed Landsat imagery. Using automatic supervised classification combined with visual interpretation, we obtained land-use information for five study areas(Nantong, Shanghai, Jiaxing, Ningbo, and Zhoushan). Significant land-use changes have occurred in this area between 1995 and 2015, characterized in particular by large reductions in cultivated land and rapid increases in urbanized land. In addition, land reclamation was very active in this period as an effective supplement to the increased demand for land development: since 1995, 1622 km^2 of land was reclaimed from near-coastal regions in the study area. This increase in urbanization was jointly driven by population, economic, transportation, and policy factors. Urban areas expanded from the center outward in concentric rings, with infrastructure guiding the radial expansion of development along transportation corridors, thus forming a network of connections. Due to the influence of national land regulation policies, the expansion rate of development in the YRD gradually diminished after 2010. | 15 | Structure and immunomodulatory activity of Lentinus edodes polysaccharides modified by probiotic fermentation显示文摘Plant-based fermentations provide an untapped source for novel biotechnological applications.In this study,a probiotic named Lactobacillus fermentum 21828 was introduced to ferment Lentinus edodes.Polysaccharides were extracted from fermented and non-fermented L.edodes and purified via DEAE-52 and Sephadex G-100.The components designated F-LEP-2a and NF-LEP-2a were analyzed by FT-IR,HPGPC,HPAEC,SEM,GC-MS and NMR.The results revealed that probiotic fermentation increased the molecular weight from 1.16×10^(4) Da to 1.87×10^(4) Da and altered the proportions of glucose,galactose and mannose,in which glucose increased from 45.94%to 48.16%.Methylation analysis and NMR spectra indicated that F-LEP-2a and NF-LEP-2a had similar linkage patterns.Furthermore,their immunomodulatory activities were evaluated with immunosuppressive mice.NF-LEP and F-LEP improved immune organ indices,immunoglobulin(Ig G and Ig M)and cytokines concentrations;restored the antioxidation capacity of liver;and maintained the balance of gut microbiota.F-LEP displayed better moderating effects on the spleen index,immunoglobulin,cytokines and the diversity of gut microbiota than NF-LEP(200,400 mg/kg).Our study provides an efficient and environment-friendly way for the structural modification of polysaccharides,which helps to enhance their biological activity and promote their wide application in food,medicine and other fields. | Jingjing Liang Meina Zhang Xiaohan Li Yuan Yue Xiaowei Wang Mengzhen Han Tianli Yue Zhouli Wang Zhenpeng Gao | 2024 | Food Science and Human Wellness2024,13,1: | 0 |

Soymilk, a traditional neutral plant-based protein drink, is rich in high quality proteins. Although soybean milk is rich in nutrients, its marketing among consumers, especially those in Western countries who are used to peaceful flavor, has been limited due to the adverse flavor impact brought by its special composition. In recent years, with the increasing attention to the nutritional value of soymilk, the flavor of soymilk has become a popular research object for scholars at home and abroad. The flavor components of soymilk are mainly volatile small molecular compounds produced by enzymatic reactions catalyzed by lipoxygenase(LOX). After formation, they interact with protein macromolecules to form the overall flavor of soymilk. At present, there are many methods to control the off-odor of soymilk at home and abroad, including physical heating methods, chemical methods, biological enzymatic digestion methods, mask methods, and a variety of breeding methods. These methods effectively reduce the off-odor of soymilk, but all of them have shortcomings. Currently, the sensory characteristics of the beany odor in soymilk are evaluated mainly by traditional human sensory scoring along with the assistance of modern instrument analysis of volatile flavor substances using headspace solid phase microextraction(SPME) gas chromatography coupled with-mass spectrometry(GC-MS). | 17 | The right inferior frontal gyrus as pivotal node and effective regulator of the basal ganglia-thalamocortical response inhibition circuit显示文摘Background:The involvement of specific basal ganglia-thalamocortical circuits in response inhibition has been extensively mapped in animal models.However,the pivotal nodes and directed causal regulation within this inhibitory circuit in humans remains con-troversial.Objective:The main aim of the present study was to determine the causal information flow and critical nodes in the basal ganglia-thalamocortical inhibitory circuits and also to examine whether these are modulated by biological factors(i.e.sex)and behavioral performance.Methods:Here,we capitalize on the recent progress in robust and biologically plausible directed causal modeling(DCM-PEB)and a large response inhibition dataset(n=250)acquired with concomitant functional magnetic resonance imaging to determine key nodes,their causal regulation and modulation via biological variables(sex)and inhibitory performance in the inhibitory circuit encompassing the right inferior frontal gyrus(rIFG),caudate nucleus(rCau),globus pallidum(rGP),and thalamus(rThal).Results:The entire neural circuit exhibited high intrinsic connectivity and response inhibition critically increased causal projections from the rIFG to both rCau and rThal.Direct comparison further demonstrated that response inhibition induced an increasing rIFG inflow and increased the causal regulation of this region over the rCau and rThal.In addition,sex and performance influenced the functional architecture of the regulatory circuits such that women displayed increased rThal self-inhibition and decreased rThal to GP modulation,while better inhibitory performance was associated with stronger rThal to rIFG communication.Furthermore,control analyses did not reveal a similar key communication in a left lateralized model.Conclusions:Together,these findings indicate a pivotal role of the rIFG as input and causal regulator of subcortical response inhibition nodes. | Qian Zhuang Lei Qiao Lei Xu Shuxia Yao Shuaiyu Chen Xiaoxiao Zheng Jialin Li Meina Fu Keshuang Li Deniz Vatansever Stefania Ferraro Keith M.Kendrick Benjamin Becker | 2023 | Psychoradiology2023,3,1: | 0 |
| 18 | NIGT1 represses plant growth and mitigates phosphate starvation signaling to balance the growth response tradeoff in rice显示文摘Inorganic phosphate(Pi)availability is an important factor which affects the growth and yield of crops,thus an appropriate and effective response to Pi fluctuation is critical.However,how crops orchestrate Pi signaling and growth under Pi starvation conditions to optimize the growth defense tradeoff remains unclear.Here we show that a Pi starvationinduced transcription factor NIGT1(NITRATE-INDUCIBLE GARP-TYPE TRANSCRIPTIONAL REPRESSOR 1)controls plant growth and prevents a hyper-response to Pi starvation by directly repressing the expression of growth-related and Pisignaling genes to achieve a balance between growth and response under a varying Pi environment.NIGT1 directly binds to the promoters of Pi starvation signaling marker genes,like IPS1,mi R827,and SPX2,under Pi-deficient conditions to mitigate the Pi-starvation responsive(PSR).It also directly represses the expression of vacuolar Pi efflux transporter genes VPE1/2 to regulate plant Pi homeostasis.We further demonstrate that NIGT1 constrains shoot growth by repressing the expression of growth-related regulatory genes,including brassinolide signal transduction master regulator BZR1,cell division regulator CYCB1;1,and DNA replication regulator PSF3.Our findings reveal the function of NIGT1 in orchestrating plant growth and Pi starvation signaling,and also provide evidence that NIGT1 acts as a safeguard to avoid hyper-response during Pi starvation stress in rice. | Yuxin Zhang Qianqian Zhang Meina Guo Xueqing Wang Tianjie Li Qingyu Wu Lihui Li Keke Yi Wenyuan Ruan | 2023 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,8: | 0 |
| 19 | Revealing the role of microalgae-bacteria niche for boosting wastewater treatment and energy reclamation in response to temperature显示文摘Conventional biological treatment usually cannot achieve the same high water quality as advanced treatment when conducted under varied temperatures.Here,satisfactory wastewater treatment efficiency was observed in a microalgae-bacteria consortia(MBC)over a wide temperature range because of the predominance of microalgae.Microalgae contributed more toward wastewater treatment at low temperature because of the unsatisfactory performance of the accompanying bacteria,which experienced cold stress(e.g.,bacterial abundance below 3000 sequences)and executed defensive strategies(e.g.,enrichment of cold-shock proteins).A low abundance of amoA-C and hao indicated that conventional nitrogen removal was replaced through the involvement of microalgae.Diverse heterotrophic bacteria for nitrogen removal were identified at medium and high temperatures,implying this microbial niche treatment contained diverse flexible consortia with temperature variation.Additionally,pathogenic bacteria were eliminated through microalgal photosynthesis.After fitting the neutral community model and calculating the ecological niche,microalgae achieved a maximum niche breadth of 5.21 and the lowest niche overlap of 0.38,while the accompanying bacterial community in the consortia were shaped through deterministic processes.Finally,the maximum energy yield of 87.4 kJ L^(-1)and lipid production of 1.9 g L^(-1)were achieved at medium temperature.Altogether,this study demonstrates that advanced treatment and energy reclamation can be achieved through microalgae-bacteria niche strategies. | Chaofan Zhang Xi Chen Meina Han Xue Li Haixing Chang Nanqi Ren Shih-Hsin Ho | 2023 | Environmental Science and Ecotechnology2023,,2: | 0 |
