| 3 | Antibacterial applications of graphene oxides: structure-activity relationships, molecular initiating events and biosafety显示文摘Bacterial infections may lead to diverse acute or chronic diseases(e.g., inflammation, sepsis and cancer).New antibiotics against bacteria are rarely discovered in recent years, which necessitates the exploration of new antibacterial agents. Engineered nanomaterials(ENMs) have been extensively studied for antibacterial use because of their long lasting killing effects in wide spectra of bacteria. Graphene oxide(GO) is one of the most widely studied ENMs and exhibit strong bactericidal effects. The physicochemical properties of GO play important roles in bacterial killing by triggering a cascade of toxic events. Many studies have explored the signaling pathways of GO in bacteria. Although molecular initiating events(MIEs) of GO in bacteria dominate its killing efficiency as well as toxicity mechanisms, they have been rarely reviewed. In this report, we discussed the structure–activity relationships(SARs) involved in GOinduced bacterial killing and the MIEs including redox reaction with biomolecules, mechanical destruction of membranes and catalysis of extracellular metabolites. | 4 | An Efficient Machine Learning Approach for Indoor Localization显示文摘Indoor localization has gained much attention over several decades due to enormous applications. However, the accuracy of indoor localization is hard to improve because the signal propagation has small scale effects which leads to inaccurate measurements. In this paper, we propose an efficient learning approach that combines grid search based kernel support vector machine and principle component analysis. The proposed approach applies principle component analysis to reduce high dimensional measurements. Then we design a grid search algorithm to optimize the parameters of kernel support vector machine in order to improve the localization accuracy. | 5 | A Novel UWB Signal Sampling Method for Localization based on Compressive Sensing显示文摘Ultra-wide-band (UWB) signals are suitable for localization, since their high time resolution can provide precise time of arrival (TOA) estimation. However, one major challenge in UWB signal processing is the requirement of high sampling rate which leads to complicated signal processing and expensive hardware. In this paper, we present a novel UWB signal sampling method called UWB signal sampling via temporal sparsity (USSTS). Its sampling rate is much lower than Nyquist rate. Moreover, it is implemented in one step and no extra processing unit is needed. Simulation results show that USSTS can not recover the signal precisely, but for the use in localization, the accuracy of TOA estimation is the same as that in traditional methods. | 11 | Energy-efficiency-aware relay selection in distributed full duplex relay network with massive MIMO显示文摘This paper considers a distributed full duplex relay network where multiple sources simultaneously transmit their signals to multiple destinations via the cooperation of a set of relay stations(RSs). Each RS is assumed to be equipped with large antenna arrays while all sources and destinations only have a single antenna.We assume the channels are Rician fading and the RSs use linear processing to process the signals with imperfect channel state information(CSI). We derive the closed-form expressions of the end-to-end achievable rates for the maximum-ratio combining/matched-filter(MRC/MF) and the zero-forcing(ZF) processing. These results are then used to pursue a detailed analysis of the power saving of the relay network. Then we study the energy-efficiency-aware relay selection strategy since the energy efficiency affects network lifetime in future wireless network.
