1Metabolic dysregulation and emerging therapeutical targets for hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is an aggressive human cancer with increasing incidence worldwide.Multiple efforts have been made to explore pharmaceutical therapies to treat HCC,such as targeted tyrosine kinase inhibitors,immune based therapies and combination of chemotherapy.However,limitations exist in current strategies including chemoresistance for instance.Tumor initiation and progression is driven by reprogramming of metabolism,in particular during HCC development.Recently,metabolic associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD),a reappraisal of new nomenclature for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD),indicates growing appreciation of metabolism in the pathogenesis of liver disease,including HCC,thereby suggesting new strategies by targeting abnormal metabolism for HCC treatment.In this review,we introduce directions by highlighting the metabolic targets in glucose,fatty acid,amino acid and glutamine metabolism,which are suitable for HCC pharmaceutical intervention.We also summarize and discuss current pharmaceutical agents and studies targeting deregulated metabolism during HCC treatment.Furthermore,opportunities and challenges in the discovery and development of HCC therapy targeting metabolism are discussed.Danyu Du Chan Liu Mengyao Qin Xiao Zhang Tao Xi Shengtao Yuan Haiping Hao Jing Xiong 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,2:27
2Antioxidant and immunomodulatory activities of a polysaccharide from Flammulina velutipes显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the antioxidant and immunomodulatory activities of a unique polysaccharide from the medicinal fungus Flammulina velutipes in vitro.METHODS: Using water extraction and alcohol precipitation, crude polysaccharides were obtained. After purification by DEAE-cellulose 52 ion exchange chromatography and Sephacryl S-300 HR gel filtration chromatography, High performance liquid chromatography equipped with evaporative light-scattering detector, Infrared radiation and Nuclear magnetic resonance were used to evaluate the structure of the polysaccharide. Its immunomodulatory activity was measured by examining the production of nitric oxide(NO) and cytokine secretion, and via lymphocyte proliferation experiments. Its effects on the scavenging activities of hydroxyl radical, superoxide anion and reducing power were also measured.RESULTS: A water-soluble polysaccharide, Flammulina velutipes polysaccharide I-A(FVP I-A), was obtained with a molecular mass of 8.14×104Da determined by high performance gel permeation chromatography. An in vitro antioxidant assay indicated that FVP I-A could scavenge hydroxyl radical, superoxide anion and possessed reducing power and could largely promote NO production and augment the interleukin-1β, interleukin-6, and tumor necrosis factor-α secretion by RAW264.7 macrophages(P<0.05). 3Seasonal Variations of Observed Raindrop Size Distribution in East China显示文摘Seasonal variations of rainfall microphysics in East China are investigated using data from the observations of a twodimensional video disdrometer and a vertically pointing micro rain radar. The precipitation and rain drop size distribution(DSD) characteristics are revealed for different rain types and seasons. Summer rainfall is dominated by convective rain,while during the other seasons the contribution of stratiform rain to rainfall amount is equal to or even larger than that of convective rain. The mean mass-weighted diameter versus the generalized intercept parameter pairs of convective rain are plotted roughly around the 'maritime' cluster, indicating a maritime nature of convective precipitation throughout the year in East China. The localized rainfall estimators, i.e., rainfall kinetic energy–rain rate, shape–slope, and radar reflectivity–rain rate relations are further derived. DSD variability is believed to be a major source of diversity of the aforementioned derived estimators. 4Chimeric antigen receptor T cell targeting EGFRvIII for metastatic lung cancer therapy显示文摘Lung cancer is the most common incident cancer and the leading cause of cancer death. In recent years, the development of tumor immunotherapy especially chimeric antigen receptor T (CAR-T) cell has shown a promising future. Epidermal growth factor receptor variant III (EGFRvlll) is a tumor-specific mutation expressed in various types of tumors and has been detected in non-small cell lung cancer with a mutation rate of 10%. Thus, EGFRvIII is a potential antigen for targeted lung cancer therapy. In this study, CAR vectors were constructed and transfected into virus-packaging cells. Then, activated T cells were infected with retrovirus harvested from stable virus-producing single clone cell lines. CAR expression on the surfaces of the T cells was detected by flow cytometry and Western blot. The function of CAR-T targeting EGFRvIII was then evaluated. The EGFRvIII-CAR vector was successfully constructed and confirmed by DNA sequencing. A stable virus-producing cell line was produced from a single clone by limited dilution. The culture conditions for the cell line, including cell density, temperature, and culture medium were optimized. After infection with retrovirus, CAR was expressed on more than 90% of the T cells. The proliferation of CAR-T cells were induced by cytokine and specific antigen in vitro. More importantly, EGFRvIII-CART specifically and efficiently recognized and killed A549-EGFRvIII cells with an effector/target ratio of 10:1 by expressing and releasing cytokines, including perforin, granzyme B, IFN-γ, and TNF-α. The in vivo study indicated that the metastasis of A549-EGFRvIII cells in mice were inhibited by EGFRvIII-CART cells, and the survival of the mice was significantly prolonged with no serious side effects. EGFRvIII-CART showed significantly efficient antitumor activity against lung cancer cells expressing EGFRvlll in vivo and in vitro. 5Onset of Xiashu loess deposition in southern China by 0.9 Ma and its implications for regional aridification显示文摘The Xiashu loess is a typical Quaternary eolian deposit in southern China and represents an important terrestrial paleoclimate archive in this low-latitude monsoon region. However, the chronological framework of Xiashu loess deposition has yet to be established. Determining the timing of the onset of Xiashu loess deposition will allow researchers to better understand late Quaternary aridification across the Asian continent, the evolution of the East Asian monsoon and regional environmental changes in subtropical regions. Therefore, in this study, a systematic chronological study of the Xiashu loess is conducted to answer this question. For the first time, magnetostratigraphic classification reveals that the Matuyama/Brunhes(M/B) reversal is present in the Xiashu loess at two sites in Jiangsu Province, the Qingshan profile at Yizheng and the Dagang core in Zhenjiang.Based on the results of magnetostratigraphy and optically stimulated luminescence(OSL) dating, the age of the lower boundary of the Xiashu loess is estimated to be approximately 0.9 Ma. Consequently, this Xiashu loess deposit is the oldest reported to date and is comparable in age to the red soil deposit in Xuancheng, Anhui Province. The onset of Xiashu loess deposition by 0.9 Ma represents the further expansion of arid range in Asia in the late Quaternary in response to significant aridification and winter monsoon strengthening in this subtropical region. 6China’s intra-and inter-national carbon emission transfers by province:A nested network perspective显示文摘Since China carries an increasingly significant responsibility in carbon emission reduction,a systematic assessment from the multi-scale and multi-regional perspective is essential to examine the region-specific carbon emissions and different kinds of carbon transfer patterns.By identifying carbon emission flows among 31 domestic provincial administrative regions and 184 foreign countries/economies,this work examines the domestic and foreign carbon emission flows of Chinese provinces/municipalities based on the intra-and inter-national relations.Overall,the provinces and municipalities in China are divided into 4 patterns according to carbon emission flows,among which inland provinces mainly engage in domestic carbon emission transfers,western regions generally receive carbon emissions with main carbon outflows in northeastern and central provinces,and coastal regions play an essential role in balancing carbon emission surpluses and deficits between domestic and foreign regions.For different sub-regions in China,recognizing carbon emission transfer relations contributes to the synergetic and sustainable regional development from a tele-connected perspective.With the nested network analysis,the multi-scale and multiregional assessments focusing upon China’s provinces and municipalities extend the existing research to both national and global scales,providing a solid foundation for sustainable regional development in China.Mengyao HAN Qiuhui YAO Junming LAO Zhipeng TANG Weidong LIU 2020Science China Earth Sciences2020,63,6:5
7Polyimide-derived carbon nanofiber membranes as anodes for high-performance flexible lithium ion batteries显示文摘The strategy of N-doping in carbon materials could provide additional Li-ion storage sites to improve their electrochemical properties. Heteroatom-containing polymers could serve as good precursors to fabricate doped carbons due to the capability to in situ dope heteroatoms into the structures. In this work,electrospun heterocyclic polyimide(PI) nanofiber membranes containing biphenyl and pyrimidine rings were carbonized to fabricate freestanding and flexible heteroatoms-containing carbon membranes.When the polymer membranes were subjected to various calcination temperatures(from 550℃ to950℃) and durations(0.5-10 h), the structural evolutions strongly affect their electrochemical properties as anodes for lithium ion batteries. It demonstrated that the reversible specific capacity of obtained sample treated at 650℃ for 3 h could achieve 695 mAh/g at 0.1 A/g and retain 245 mAh/g at 1.5 A/g after300 cycles. 8Integrative analysis of DNA methylation and gene expression identified cervical cancer-specific diagnostic biomarkers显示文摘Cervical cancer is the leading cause of death among women with cancer worldwide.Here,we performed an integrative analysis of Illumina HumanMethylation450K and RNA-seq data from TCGA to identify cervical cancer-specific DNA methylation markers.We first identified differentially methylated and expressed genes and examined the correlation between DNA methylation and gene expression.The DNA methylation profiles of 12 types of cancers,including cervical cancer,were used to generate a candidate set,and machine-learning techniques were adopted to define the final cervical cancer-specific markers in the candidate set.Then,we assessed the protein levels of marker genes by immunohistochemistry by using tissue arrays containing 93 human cervical squamous cell carcinoma samples and cancer-adjacent normal tissues.Promoter methylation was negatively correlated with the local regulation of gene expression.In the distant regulation of gene expression,the methylation of hypermethylated genes was more likely to be negatively correlated with gene expression,while the methylation of hypomethylated genes was more likely to be positively correlated with gene expression.Moreover,we identified four cervical cancer-specific methylation markers,cg07211381(RAB3C),cg12205729(GABRA2),cg20708961(ZNF257),and cg26490054(SLC5A8),with 96.2%sensitivity and 95.2%specificity by using the tenfold cross-validation of TCGA data.The four markers could distinguish tumors from normal tissues with a 94.2,100,100,and 100%AUC in four independent validation sets from the GEO database.Overall,our study demonstrates the potential use of methylation markers in cervical cancer diagnosis and may boost the development of new epigenetic therapies.Wanxue Xu Mengyao Xu Longlong Wang Wei Zhou Rong Xiang Yi Shi Yunshan Zhang Yongjun Piao 2019Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2019,4,1:4
9Near-infrared luminescent Nd^(3+)/Yb^(3+)-codoped metal-organic framework for ratiometric temperature sensing in physiological range显示文摘Self-calibrating luminescent thermometry employing luminescence within the optical transparency windows provides a promising prospect for temperature measurement in the biological fields.In this work,a new Nd^(3+)/Yb^(3+)-codoped metal-organic framework Nd_(0.95)Yb_(0.05)BPTC showing threedimensional anionic network,obtained by reacting ligand[1,1’-biphenyl]-3,3’,5,5’-tetracarboxylic acid(H4BPTC)with Nd^(3+)and Yb^(3+)ions under solvothermal conditions,is reported.Upon 808 nm photoexcitation,Nd_(0.95)Yb_(0.05)BPTC simultaneously emits the characteristic near-infrared luminescence of Nd^(3+)and Yb^(3+)ions based on the efficient energy transfer from Nd^(3+)to Yb^(3+)ions.In addition,the emission intensity ratio of Yb^(3+)and Nd^(3+)shows good exponential-like response to temperature in the physiological range of 293-323 K.The feature properties of Nd_(0.95)Yb_(0.05)BPTC include near-infrared absorption and emission,favorable temperature sensitivity and accurate temperature uncertainty,as well as good chemical stability,making such system useful in biomedical applications.Chao Gu Yanyun Ding Xinghua Quan Mengyao Gong Jiulong Yu Dian Zhao Chunxia Li 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,9:4
10Electronic-property dependent interactions between tetracycline and graphene nanomaterials in aqueous solution显示文摘Understanding the interactions between graphene nanomaterials(GNMs) and antibiotics in aqueous solution is critical to both the engineering applications of GNMs and the assessment of their potential impact on the fate and transport of antibiotics in the aquatic environment. In this study, adsorption of one common antibiotic, tetracycline, by graphene oxide(GO) and reduced graphene oxide(RGO) was examined with multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWCNTs) and graphite as comparison. The results showed that the tetracycline adsorption capacity by the four selected carbonaceous materials on the unit mass basis followed an order of GO > RGO > MWCNTs > graphite. Upon normalization by surface area,graphite, RGO and MWCNTs had almost the same high tetracycline adsorption affinity while GO exhibited the lowest. We proposed π-electron-property dependent interaction mechanisms to explain the observed different adsorption behaviors. Density functional theory(DFT) calculations suggested that the oxygen-containing functional groups on GO surface reduced its π-electron-donating ability, and thus decreased the π-based interactions between tetracycline and GO surface. Comparison of adsorption efficiency at different p H indicated that electrostatic interaction also played an important role in tetracycline-GO interactions. 11Total plant performance evaluation based on big data: Visualization analysis of TE process显示文摘The performance evaluation of the process industry, which has been a popular topic nowadays, can not only find the weakness and verify the resilience and reliability of the process, but also provide some suggestions to improve the process benefits and efficiency. Nevertheless, the performance assessment principally concentrates upon some parts of the entire system at present, for example the controller assessment. Although some researches focus on the whole process, they aim at discovering the relationships between profit, society, policies and so forth, instead of relations between overall performance and some manipulated variables, that is, the total plant performance. According to the big data of different performance statuses, this paper proposes a hierarchical framework to select some structured logic rules from monitored variables to estimate the current state of the process. The variables related to safety and profits are regarded as key factors to performance evaluation. To better monitor the process state and observe the performance variation trend of the process, a classificationvisualization method based on kernel principal component analysis(KPCA) and self-organizing map(SOM) is established. The dimensions of big data produced by the process are first reduced by KPCA and then the processed data will be mapped into a two-dimensional grid chart by SOM to evaluate the performance status. The monitoring method is applied to the Tennessee Eastman process. 13Vascular protection and regenerative effects of intranasal DL-3-N butylphthalide treatment after ischaemic stroke in mice显示文摘Objective To investigate the effects of DL-3-N butylphthalide(NBP)via intranasal delivery after ischaemic stroke in mice.Methods C57BL/6 mice were divided into three groups:sham,stroke with vehicle and stroke with NBP treatment.Ischaemic stroke was induced by permanent ligation of right middle cerebral artery with 7 min common carotid artery occlusion.NBP(100 mg/kg)or vehicle was intranasally administered at 1 hour after stroke and repeated once a day until sacrifice.Bromodeoxyuridine(BrdU)(50 mg/kg/day)was given from the third day until sacrifice.Sensorimotor function was tested during 1-21 days after stroke.Local cerebral blood flow in the ischaemic and peri-infarct regions was measured using laser Doppler flowmetry before,during and 3 days after ischaemia.Expressions of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and endothelial nitric oxide synthase as well as regenerative marker BrdU in the peri-infarct region were analysed by western blotting and immunohistochemical methods.Results Compared with the vehicle group,NBP treatment significantly increased the VEGF expression in the poststroke brain.Stroke mice that received NBP showed significantly less vascular damage after stroke and more new neurons and blood vessels in the peri-infarct region at 21 days after stroke.In the adhesive removal test,the sensorimotor function of stroke mice treated with NBP performed significantly better at 1,3 and 7 days after stroke compared with vehicle controls.Conclusion Daily intranasal NBP treatment provides protective and neurogenic/angiogenic effects in the poststroke brain,accompanied with functional improvements after a focal ischaemic stroke in mice.Mengyao Qu Jingjie Zhao Yingying Zhao Jinmei Sun Liping Liu Ling Wei Yongbo Zhang 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,1:4
14Microstructure and texture evolution of fine-grained Mg-Zn-Y-Nd alloy micro-tubes for biodegradable vascular stents processed by hot extrusion and rapid cooling显示文摘Magnesium alloys have narrow available slip result from close-packed hexagonal structure that limit their processing properties.In the recent work,the Mg-2Zn-0.46Y-0.5Nd,as materials for degradable stents,was applied to produce as-extruded micro-tube with an outer diameter of 3.0mm and a wall thickness of 0.35mm by hot extrusion with an extrusion ratio of 105:1 at 653K and rapid cooling.The fine microstructure of the dynamic recrystallization of as-extruded micro-tube could be preserved by rapid cooling such as water-cooled,resulting in more excellent mechanical properties relative to air-cooled micro-tube.The addition of rare earth elements Y and Nd results in continuous dynamic recrystallization dominated the dynamic recrystallization mechanism.During the hot extrusion process,the activation of the non-basal slip system,especially the pyramidal(c+a)slip,could significantly weaken the texture strength,and the as-extruded micro-tube exhibits weak'RE'texture components(011^(-)1)||ED and(1^(-)21^(-)1)||ED.Hence,the magnesium alloy micro-tube prepared by the rapid cooling has fine microstructure and weak texture,which is favorable for further process and governance.Kaikai Guo Mengyao Liu Jianfeng Wang Yufeng Sun Weiqing Li Shijie Zhu Liguo Wang Shaokang Guan 2020Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2020,8,3:3
15Microbiome and ileum transcriptome revealed the boosting effects of selenium yeast on egg production in aged laying hens显示文摘The declines in laying performance during the late productionperiod have adverse effects on the length of theproduction cycle. Improving the nutrition of laying hens is a crucialmeasure to reverse this declination. Thisstudy investigatedthe effect of seleniumyeast (SY)on egg production, ileal gene expressionandmicrobiota, aswell as elucidating their associations in aged laying hens. A total of 375 Jinghong laying hens at 76weeks oldwere randomly assigned into 5 dietary treatments, which included a selenium-deficient basal diet based oncorn-soybean meal, and dietary supplementation of SY at 0.15, 0.30 and 0.45 mg/kg, and sodium selenite at0.45mg/kg.The results showed that SYamelioratedthe depressionin aged layingperformance inthe 0.30mg/kg group (P < 0.01). Selenium yeast significantly increased ileum selenium concentration (P < 0.05), and SYgroups had higher seleniumdeposition efficiency than the sodiumselenite group. Functional enrichment andShort Time-series Expression Miner (STEM) analysis indicated that SY activated metabolic progress (e.g.,glycerolipidmetabolism, glycerophospholipidmetabolism, andfattyacidmetabolism),immune responseandoxidative stress response. Four hub genes including thioredoxin reductase 1 (TXNRD1), dihydrolipoamidedehydrogenase (DLD), integrin linked kinase (ILK) and leucine zipper tumor suppressor 2 (LZTS2) wereinvolved in intestinal metabolismwhich was closely associated with selenium deposition/status. Moreover,the relative abundance of Veillonella, Turicibacter and Lactobacillus was significantly increased, but the relativeabundance of Stenotrophomonas was significantly decreased by SY supplementation. Multi-omics dataintegration and Canonical correspondence analysis (CCA) showed that both the ileumselenium content andthe laying rate were highly correlated with pathways and bacteria enriched in metabolism and immuneresponse. Meanwhile, the “switched on” gene prostate stem cell antigen (PSCA) had a positive relationshipwith Veillonella and a negative relationship with the opportunistic pathogens Stenotrophomonas. 16Self-powered,flexible,and ultrabroadband ultraviolet-terahertz photodetector based on a laser-reduced graphene oxide/CsPbBr3 composite显示文摘Self-powered and flexible ultrabroadband photodetectors(PDs)are desirable in a wide range of applications.The current PDs based on the photothermoelectric(PTE)effect have realized broadband photodetection.However,most of them express low photoresponse and lack of flexibility.In this work,high-performance,self-powered,and flexible PTE PDs based on laser-scribed reduced graphene oxide(LSG)∕CsPbBr3 are developed.The comparison experiment with LSG PD and fundamental electric properties show that the LSG∕CsPbBr3 device exhibits enhanced ultrabroadband photodetection performance covering ultraviolet to terahertz range with high photoresponsivity of 100 mA/W for 405 nm and 10 mA/W for 118μm at zero bias voltage,respectively.A response time of 18 ms and flexible experiment are also acquired at room temperature.Moreover,the PTE effect is fully discussed in the LSG∕CsPbBr3 device.This work demonstrates that LSG∕CsPbBr3 is a promising candidate for the construction of high-performance,flexible,and self-powered ultrabroadband PDs at room temperature.YIFAN LI YATING ZHANG ZHILIANG CHEN QINGYAN LI TENGTENG LI MENGYAO LIHONGLIANG ZHAO QUAN SHENG WEI SHI JIANQUAN YAO 2020Photonics Research2020,8,8:3
17Single-cell transcriptomes of peripheral blood cells indicate and elucidate severity of COVID-19显示文摘The blood and immune system of coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)infected patients are dysfunctional,and numerous studies have been conducted to resolve their characteristics and pathogenic mechanisms.Nevertheless,the variations of immune responses along with disease severity have not been comprehensively documented.Here,we profiled the single-cell transcriptomes of 96,313 peripheral blood mononuclear cells(PBMCs)derived from 12 COVID-19 patients(including four moderate,four severe and four critical cases)and three healthy donors.We showed that proliferative CD8 effector T cells with declined immune functions and cytotoxicity accumulated in the critical stage.By contrast,the quantity of natural killer(NK)cells was significantly reduced,while they exhibited enhanced immune activities.Notably,a gradually attenuated responseto COVID-19 along with disease severity was observed in monocytes,in terms of cellular composition,transcriptional discrepancy and transcription factor regulatory network.Furthermore,we identified immune cell-type dependent cytokine signatures distinguishing the severity of COVID-19 patients.In addition,cell interactions between CD8 effector T/NK cells and monocytes mediated by inflammatory cytokines were enhanced in moderate and severe stages,but weakened in critical cases.Collectively,our work uncovers the cellular and molecular players underlying the disordered and heterogeneous immune responses associated with COVID-19 severity,which could provide valuable insights for the treatment of critical COVID-19 patients.Xiaowei Xie Xuelian Cheng Gaoxiang Wang Biao Zhang Mengyao Liu Liting Chen Hui Cheng Sha Hao Jianfeng Zhou Ping Zhu Tao Cheng 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,10:3
18Human activities and elevational constraints restrict ranging patterns of snub-nosed monkeys in a mountainous refuge显示文摘Both natural conditions and anthropogenic factors affect the survivability,distribution,and population density of wildlife.To understand the extent and how these factors drive species distributions,a detailed description of animal movement patterns in natural habitats is needed.In this study,we used satellite telemetry to monitor elevational ranges favored by endangered golden snub-nosed monkeys(Rhinopithecus roxellana),in the Qinling Mountains,central China.We investigated the abundance and distribution of food resources through sampling vegetation quadrats at different elevations and sampled anthropogenic activities using field surveys.Our results indicated that although there was no significant variation in food resources between low-(<1500 m)and middle-elevations(1500–2200 m),monkeys were found most often in areas above 1500 m,where there was less anthropogenic development(e.g.houses and roads);however,monkeys rarely ranged above 2200 m and had limited food availability at this altitude.There was limited human disturbance at this elevation.We suggest that both human activity and ecological constraints(i.e.food resources)have considerable effects on elevational use of R.roxellana in the Qinling Mountains.This study highlights the critical roles these factors can play in shaping the vertical distribution of high-altitude primates.This research provides useful insights for habitat-based conservation plans in which human disturbance management and habitat restoration should be prioritized.Pengzhen HUANG Kun BIAN Zhipang HUANG Qi Li Derek WDUNN Gu FANG Jiahui LIU Mengyao WANG Xianfeng YANG Ruliang PAN Cunlao GAO Kaichuang SI Baoguo LI Xiaoguang QI 2021Integrative Zoology2021,16,2:3

20Sodium citrate and biochar synergistic improvement of nanoscale zero-valent iron composite for the removal of chromium(Ⅵ)in aqueous solutions显示文摘Sodium citrate(SC)is a widely-used food and industrial additive with the properties of com-plexation and microbial degradation.In the present study,nano-zero-valent iron reaction system(SC-nZVI@BC)was successfully established by modifying nanoscale zero-valent iron(nZVI)with SC and biochar(BC),and was employed to remove Cr(Ⅵ)from aqueous solu-tions.The nZVI,SC-nZVI and SC-nZVI@BC were characterized and compared using X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),thermogravimetric analy-ses(TGA),vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM),scanning electron microscope(SEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD)and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The results showed that nZVI was successfully loaded on the biochar,and both the agglomeration and surface pas-sivation problems of nanoparticles were well resolved.The dosage of SC,C∶Fe,initial pH and Cr(Ⅵ)concentration demonstrated direct effects on the removal efficiency.The maximum Cr(Ⅵ)removal rate and the removal capacity within 60 min were 99.7%and 199.46 mg/g,respectively(C∶Fe was 1∶1,SC dosage was 1.12 mol.%,temperature was 25℃,pH=7,and the original concentration of Cr(Ⅵ)was 20 mg/L).The reaction confirmed to follow the pseudo-second-order reaction kinetics,and the order of the reaction rate constant k was as follows:SC-nZVI@BC>nZVI@BC>SC-nZVI>nZVI.In addition,the mechanism of Cr(Ⅵ)removal by SC-nZVI@BC mainly involved adsorption,reduction and co-precipitation,and the reduction of Cr(Ⅵ)to Cr(Ⅲ)by nano Fe0 played a vital role.Findings from the present study demon-strated that the SC-nZVI@BC exhibited excellent removal efficiency toward Cr(Ⅵ)with an improved synergistic characteristic by SC and BC.Hongyi Zhou Mengyao Ye Yongkang Zhao Shams Ali Baig Ning Huang Mengyan Ma 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,5:3
