| 1 | Seasonal Variations in Phytoplankton Community Structure in the Sanggou,Ailian,and Lidao Bays显示文摘The seasonal variations in phytoplankton community structure were investigated for the Sanggou Bay(SGB) and the adjacent Ailian Bay(ALB) and Lidao Bay(LDB) in Shandong Peninsula, eastern China. The species composition and cell abundance of phytoplankton in the bay waters in spring(April 2011), summer(August 2011), autumn(October 2011), and winter(January 2012) were examined using the Utermhl method. A total of 80 taxa of phytoplankton that belong to 39 genera of 3 phyla were identified. These included 64 species of 30 genera in the Phylum Bacillariophyta, 13 species of 8 genera in the Phylum Dinophyta, and 3 species of 1 genus in the Phylum Chrysophyta. During the four seasons, the number of phytoplankton species(43) was the highest in spring, followed by summer and autumn(40), and the lowest number of phytoplankton species(35) was found in winter. Diatoms, especially Paralia sulcata(Ehrenberg) Cleve and Coscinodiscus oculus-iridis Ehrenberg, were predominant in the phytoplankton community throughout the study period, whereas the dominance of dinoflagellate appeared in summer only. The maximum cell abundance of phytoplankton was detected in summer(average 8.08 × 103 cells L-1) whereas their minimum abundance was found in autumn(average 2.60 × 103 cells L-1). The phytoplankton abundance was generally higher in the outer bay than in the inner bay in spring and autumn. In summer, the phytoplankton cells were mainly concentrated in the south of inner SGB, with peak abundance observed along the western coast. In winter, the distribution of phytoplankton cells showed 3 patches, with peak abundance along the western coast as well. On seasonal average, the Shannon-Wiener diversity indices of phytoplankton community ranged from 1.17 to 1.78(autumn > summer > spring > winter), and the Pielou's evenness indices of phytoplankton ranged from 0.45 to 0.65(autumn > spring > summer > winter). According to the results of canonical correspondence analysis, phosphate level was the major factor that limited the occurrence of P. sulcata and C. oculus-iridis, whereas optimal temperature and low salinity were responsible for Prorocentrum blooms in summer. | 3 | Comparison of viral RNA-host protein interactomes across pathogenic RNA viruses informs rapid antiviral drug discovery for SARS-CoV-2显示文摘In contrast to the extensive research about viral protein–host protein interactions that has revealed major insights about how RNA viruses engage with host cells during infection,few studies have examined interactions between host factors and viral RNAs(vRNAs).Here,we profiled vRNA–host protein interactomes for three RNA virus pathogens(SARS-CoV-2,Zika,and Ebola viruses)using ChIRP-MS.Comparative interactome analyses discovered both common and virus-specific host responses and vRNA-associated proteins that variously promote or restrict viral infection.In particular,SARS-CoV-2 binds and hijacks the host factor IGF2BP1 to stabilize vRNA and augment viral translation.Our interactome-informed drug repurposing efforts identified several FDA-approved drugs(e.g.,Cepharanthine)as broad-spectrum antivirals in cells and hACE2 transgenic mice.A co-treatment comprising Cepharanthine and Trifluoperazine was highly potent against the newly emerged SARS-CoV-2 B.1.351 variant.Thus,our study illustrates the scientific and medical discovery utility of adopting a comparative vRNA-host protein interactome perspective. | Shaojun Zhang Wenze Huang Lili Ren Xiaohui Ju Mingli Gong Jian Rao Lei Sun Pan Li Qiang Ding Jianwei Wang Qiangfeng Cliff Zhang | 2022 | Cell Research2022,32,1: | 5 |

| 7 | Selective Introduction of Carbazole and Diphenylamine into Spirofluorenexanthene Core for Different Phosphorescent Hosts显示文摘Built on the spiro[fluorene-9,9'-xanthene] (SFX) core and two frequently-used hole-transporting groups such ascarbazole and diphenylamine, two SFX derivatives, namely SFXCz and SFXDPA, have been synthesized byone-step reaction for red, green and blue phosphorescent organic light-emitting devices (PHOLEDs). Though theproperties of these two groups are very similar, the devices based on SFXCz and SFXDPA exhibit distinct perfor-mances. In blue PHOLEDs, the device based on SFXCz exhibited much better performances than that based onSFXDPA. However, the latter was superior to the former in green and red PHOLEDs. And the red PHOLED basedon SFXDPA exhibited maximum current efficiency (CE) of 27.1 cdoA^-l, power efficiency (PE) of 25.01m·W^-1, andexternal quantum efficiency (EQE) of 15.0%. Twenty-four hours after cardiopulmonary resuscitation, nerve cell injury and expression of tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-1β, and p38 mitogen activated protein kinase content were increased. Rats injected with Xuebijing, a Chinese herb compound preparation, exhibited normal cellular structure and morphology, dense neuronal cytoplasm, and decreased tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-1β, and p38 mitogen activated protein kinase expression at 24 hours following cardiopulmonary resuscitation. | 9 | Molecular phylogeny of tribe Atraphaxideae(Polygonaceae)evidenced from five cpDNA genes显示文摘Traditionally,Atraphaxis,Calligonum,Pteropyrum and Parapteropyrum are included in the tribe Atraphxideae.Recently,sequence data has revealed that this tribe is not monophyletic.The structure of the tribe was examined by adding more taxa and sequences to clarify the congruence between morphology and molecular phylogeny,the systematic placements of four genera in Polygonaceae,as well as the infra-generic relationships of Atraphaxis and Calligonum within Atraphaxideae.Five chloroplast genes,atpB-rbcL,psbA-trnH,trnL–trnF, psbK-psbI,and rbcL of Atraphaxis,Calligonum,Pteropyrum,and Parapteropyrum were sequenced.The non-monophyly of Atraphaxideae was confirmed.Atraphaxis and Calligonum,respectively,formed a monophyletic group that was well supported.Calligonum is closely related to Pteropyrum;Atraphaxis is sister to Polygonum s.str.; and Parapteropyrum is allied with Fagopyrum.Although the morphology suggested the four genera should form a tribe,the molecular data indicated Atraphaxideae was not one monophyletic group.The clades identified within Atraphaxis corresponded well with the current sectional classification based on morphological features.As for Calligonum,Medusa was identified as a non-monophyletic section. | YanXia SUN MingLi ZHANG | 2012 | Journal of Arid Land2012,4,2: | 2 |
