1Whole-Process Pollution Control for Cost-Effective and Cleaner Chemical Production A Case Study of the Tungsten Industry in China显示文摘In this research,a methodology named whole-process pollution control(WPPC)is demonstrated that improves the effectiveness of process optimization.This methodology considers waste/emission treatment as a step of the whole production process with respect to the minimization of cost and environmental impact for the whole process.The following procedures are introduced in a WPPC process optimization:①a material and energy flow investigation and optimization based on a systematic understanding of the distribution and physiochemical properties of potential pollutants;②a process optimization to increase the utilization efficiency of different elements and minimize pollutant emissions;and③an evaluation to reveal the effectiveness of the optimization strategies.The production of ammonium paratungstate was chosen for the case study.Two factors of the different optimization schemes-namely the cost-effectiveness factor and the environmental impact indicator-were evaluated and compared.This research demonstrates that by considering the nature of potential pollutants,technological innovations,economic viability,environmental impacts,and regulation requirements,WPPC can efficiently optimize a metal production process.Hongbin Cao He Zhao Di Zhang Chenming Liu Xiao Lin Yuping Li Pengge Ning Jiajun Sun Yi Zhang Zhi Sun 2019Engineering2019,5,4:7
2Eu^(3+)-doped LaPO_4 and LaAlO_3 nanosystems and their luminescence properties显示文摘Eu3+ ion-doped LaPO4 nanowires or nanorods have been successfully synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method.The influence of varying the hydrothermal and subsequent sintering conditions on the morphology and structure of the LaPO4 host has been investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD).For comparison,the Eu3+ ions were also doped into monoclinic monazite LaPO4 nanoparticles and perovskite LaAlO3 nanoparticles.The relative intensities of the emission lines of the LaPO4:Eu3+ nanosystems were essentially independent of their shape.The optimal doping concentrations in the monoclinic LaPO4 and perovskite LaAlO3 nanosystems were determined to be about 5.0 and 3.5 mol%,respectively.Under appropriate UV-radiation,the red light emitted from LaAlO3:Eu3+(3.5 mol%) was brighter than that from LaPO4:Eu3+(5.0 mol%) nanomaterial,resulting from differences in their spin-orbit couplings and covalence,which indicates that the nanoscale LaAlO3 is a promising host material for rare earth ions.WAN Qiang,HE YuPing,DAI Ning & ZOU BingSuo State Key Laboratory of State Key Laboratory of Chemo/Biosensing and Chemometrics and Key Laboratory for Micro-Nano Opto-Electronic Devices of Ministry of Education,Hunan University,Changsha 410082,China 2009Science China Chemistry2009,52,8:6
3Face and object visual working memory deficits in first-episode schizophrenia correlate with multiple neurocognitive performances显示文摘Background Working memory(WM)deficit is considered a core feature and cognitive biomarker in patients with schizophrenia.Several studies have reported prominent object WM deficits in patients with schizophrenia,suggesting that visual WM in these patients extends to non-spatial domains.However,whether non-spatial WM is similarly affected remains unclear.Aim This study primarily aimed to identify the processing of visual object WM in patients with first-episode schizophrenia.Methods The study included 36 patients with first-episode schizophrenia and 35 healthy controls.Visual object WM capacity,including face and house WM capacity,was assessed by means of delayed matching-to sample visual WM tasks,in which participants must distribute memory so that they can discriminate a target sample.We specifically examined their anhedonia experience by the Temporal Experience of Pleasure Scale and the Snaith-Hamilton Pleasure Scale.Cognitive performance was measured by the Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status(RBANS).Results Both face and house WM capacity was significantly impaired in patients with schizophrenia.For both tasks,the performance of all the subjects was worse under the high-load condition than under the low-load condition.We found that WM capacity was highly positively correlated with the performance on RBANS total scores(r=−0.528,p=0.005),RBANS delayed memory scores(r=−0.470,p=0.013),RBANS attention scores(r=−0.584,p=0.001),RBANS language scores(r=−0.448,p=0.019),Trail-Making Test:Part A raw scores(r=0.465,p=0.015)and simple IQ total scores(r=−0.538,p=0.005),and correlated with scores of the vocabulary test(r=−0.490,p=0.011)and scores of the Block Diagram Test(r=−0.426,p=0.027)in schizophrenia.No significant correlations were observed between WM capacity and Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale symptoms.Conclusions Our research found that visual object WM capacity is dramatically impaired in patients with schizophrenia and is strongly correlated with other measures of cognition,suggesting a mechanism that is critical in explaining a portion of the broad cognitive deficits observed in schizophrenia.Yi Liu Taiyong Bi Bei Zhang Qijie Kuang Haijing Li Kunlun Zong Jingping Zhao Yuping Ning Shenglin She Yingjun Zheng 2021General Psychiatry2021,34,1:2

12Experiment on the Fattening Effects of Mixed Silage of Wolfberry Branches on Hybrid显示文摘[Objectives] This study was conducted to use the feeding value of wolfberry branches and to provide a basis for the rational use of its active ingredients and nutrients and the development of new feed resources. [Methods] Wolfberry branches and whole-plant corn were used to make mixed silage of wolfberry branches, which replaced different proportions of whole-plant corn silage for feeding hybrid mutton sheep, and the feeding effect of the mixed silage of wolfberry branches on hybrid mutton sheep was analyzed, which provides a technical basis for rational utilization of mulberry resources to ruminants. A single factor feeding comparison experiment was carried out. 32 hybrid mutton sheep of 8 months old with conform gender, age, body weight, physiological state and feeding management level were selected and divided into two groups, 16 in each group. [Results] The gross output value of weight gain of the experimental group was 18.06 yuan, which was higher than the CK(12.97 yuan) by 5.09 yuan. 13Optical Design and Preparation of High Performance Mo/NiAlN/NiAlON/SiO_2 Solar Selective Absorbing Coating显示文摘A new solar selective absorbing coating of Mo/NiAlN/NiAlON/SiO_2 multilayer was prepared on stainless steel(SS) substrates by magnetron sputtering for solar thermal power applications. The optical constants and thickness of individual layers were simulated using the Scout software based on the experimentally measured reflectance and transmittance spectra of individual layers. The coating of Mo/NiAlN/NiAlON/SiO_2 with an ideal solar absorptance(α) of 0.945 in the solar spectrum range was designed via the optical constants of each layer in the Scout software. The Mo/NiAlN/NiAlON/SiO_2 coating was deposited via the optimized layer thickness. A good spectral selectivity with absorptance(α=0.936) and emittance(ε=0.09, T=80 ℃) was obtained. 14Improvement of thermal stability of ZrSiON based solar selective absorbing coating显示文摘Solar selective absorbing coatings(SSACs)are required to have not only excellent optical property but also outstanding thermal stability for high temperature applications.The optical properties of Mo/ZrSiN/ZrSiON/SiO_(2) SSAC had been optimized successfully before.Herein,we are focusing on the evaluation and mechanism of thermal stability of this multilayer coating for its potential applications in concentrated solar power(CSP)systems.Fortunately,the coating exhibits excellent thermal stability after aging at 400℃ for 1500 h in vacuum.At aging temperature of 500℃ for 1000 h or 600℃ for 300 h in vacuum,the slight inter-diffusion between Mo layer and stainless steel(SS)substrate occurs.At higher aging temperature of 700℃ for 100 h in vacuum,the serious inter-diffusion between Mo layer and SS substrate leads to invalidation of the coating,which has been evidenced by Rutherford backscattering spectrometry(RBS)and X-ray diffraction(XRD)technologies.Additionally,this coating also has an outstanding thermal stability after aging at 400℃for 300 h in air.A heating-cooling cycling(HCC)treatment evidences the good thermal stability of this coating working in cold environment(60℃).The results reveal that this coating can be a promising candidate not only for CSP system in high temperatures but also for usage in cold environment.Yuping Ning Cong Wang Wenwen Wang Eric Tomasella Ying Sun Ping Song Weichang Hao Angelique Bousquet 2020Journal of Materiomics2020,6,4:1
15Aberrant single-subject morphological brain networks in first-episode,treatment-naive adolescents with major depressive disorder显示文摘Background:Neuroimaging-based connectome studies have indicated that major depressive disorder(MDD)is associated with dis-rupted topological organization of large-scale brain networks.However,the disruptions and their clinical and cognitive relevance are not well established for morphological brain networks in adolescent MDD.Objective:To investigate the topological alterations of single-subject morphological brain networks in adolescent MDD.Methods:Twenty-five first-episode,treatment-naive adolescents with MDD and 19 healthy controls(HCs)underwent T1-weighted magnetic resonance imaging and a battery of neuropsychological tests.Single-subject morphological brain networks were constructed separately based on cortical thickness,fractal dimension,gyrification index,and sulcus depth,and topologically characterized by graph-based approaches.Between-group differences were inferred by permutation testing.For significant alterations,partial correla-tions were used to examine their associations with clinical and neuropsychological variables in the patients.Finally,a support vector machine was used to classify the patients from controls.Results:Compared with the HCs,the patients exhibited topological alterations only in cortical thickness-based networks character-ized by higher nodal centralities in parietal(left primary sensory cortex)but lower nodal centralities in temporal(left parabelt complex,right perirhinal ectorhinal cortex,right area PHT and right ventral visual complex)regions.Moreover,decreased nodal centralities of some temporal regions were correlated with cognitive dysfunction and clinical characteristics of the patients.These results were largely reproducible for binary and weighted network analyses.Finally,topological properties of the cortical thickness-based net-works were able to distinguish the MDD adolescents from HCs with 87.6%accuracy.Conclusion:Adolescent MDD is associated with disrupted topological organization of morphological brain networks,and the disrup-tions provide potential biomarkers for diagnosing and monitoring the disease.Xiaofan Qiu Junle Li Fen Pan Yuping Yang Weihua Zhou Jinkai Chen Ning Wei Shaojia Lu Xuchu Weng Manli Huang Jinhui Wang 2023Psychoradiology2023,3,1:0
16Differences in olfactory functional connectivity in early-onset depression and late-onset depression显示文摘Background:Late-onset depression(LOD)and early-onset depression(EOD)exhibit different pathological mechanisms and clinical phenotypes,including different extents of olfactory dysfunction.However,the brain abnormalities underlying the differences in ol-factory dysfunction between EOD and LOD remain unclear.Objective:The aim of this study was to compare the functional connectivity(FC)patterns of olfactory regions between EOD patients and LOD patients and examine their relationship with cognitive function.Methods:One hundred and five patients with EOD,101 patients with LOD and 160 normal controls(NCs)were recruited for the present study.Participants underwent clinical assessment,olfactory testing,cognitive assessments,and magnetic resonance imaging.Eight regions of the primary and secondary olfactory regions were selected to investigate olfactory FC.Results:Patients with LOD exhibited decreased odor identification(OI)compared with patients with EOD and NCs.The LOD group exhibited decreased FC compared with the EOD and NC groups when primary and secondary olfactory regions were selected as the regions of interest(the piriform cortex,lateral entorhinal cortex,and orbital-frontal cortex).Additionally,these abnormal olfactory FCs were associated with decreased cognitive function scores and OI,and the FC between the left orbital-frontal cortex and left amygdala was a partial mediator of the relationship between global cognitive scores and OI.Conclusion:Overall,patients with LOD exhibited decreased FC in both the primary and secondary olfactory cortices compared with patients with EOD,and abnormal olfactory FC was associated with OI dysfunction and cognitive impairment.The FC between the orbital-frontal cortex and amygdala mediated the relationship between global cognitive function and OI.Ben Chen Mingfeng Yang Meiling Liu Qiang Wang Huarong Zhou Min Zhang Le Hou Zhangying Wu Si Zhang Gaohong Lin Xiaomei Zhong Yuping Ning 2023Psychoradiology2023,3,1:0
17Study on Addition Amount of Lactic Acid Bacteria and Cellulase in Mixed Silage of Potato Plants显示文摘[Objectives]This study was conducted to investigate the appropriate addition amounts of lactic acid bacteria and cellulase in the mixed silage of potato plants,so as to provide a basis for the rational use of potato plants.[Methods]Fresh potato(Solanum tuberosum)seedling plants,watermelon(Citrullus lanatus)plants,and melon(Cucumis melo)plants were selected as raw materials for silage,each of which was added at a ratio of 32%,and 4%of brown flour was added additionally.On this basis,an L 9(32)orthogonal experiment was designed to investigate the effects of the amount of lactic acid bacteria(10,20,30 g/kg)and the amount of cellulase(5,10,15 g/kg)on the experimental results with sensory evaluation score as an investigation index.[Results]With the increase of the amount of lactic acid bacteria and the amount of cellulase,the sensory evaluation score of silage increased,and it was the highest when the amount of lactic acid bacteria added was 20 g/kg and the amount of cellulose was 10 g/kg.With the increase of the amounts of lactic acid bacteria and cellulase added,ammonia nitrogen showed a decreasing trend,and the pH and ammonia nitrogen were the lowest when the amount of lactic acid bacteria added was 20 g/kg and the amount of cellulose was 10 g/kg.[Conclusions]This study provides a theoretical basis for the rational use of effective ingredients and nutrients in potato plants and the development of new feed resources.Ning'an MEI Junguo LI Li HU Zixin LIU Hua YUN Youren DING Jianning DING Yuping YAN Jianming RUAN 2021Agricultural Biotechnology2021,10,5:0
18Prey decline leads to diet shift in the largest population of Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins?显示文摘The Pearl River Delta(PRD)region on the southeast coast of China has long been known as a highly productive fishing ground.Since the late 1980s,fishing pressure in the PRD has been intense,which warrants concerns of potential fishery-related impacts on the food resources and foraging ecology of apex marine predators in this region,such as the Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin(Sousa chinensis).In this study,we examined 54 stomachs with food remains,collected from beached carcasses of humpback dolphins recovered during fifteen years between 2003 and 2017.The 6043 identified prey items represent 62 teleost taxa,primarily small estuarine fish,but also larger reef fish.The dolphins appear to be opportunistic foragers,hunting across the water-column,with preference for shoaling and meaty fishes(e.g.Collichthys lucidus IRI%=38.6%,Johnius belangerii IRI%=23.1%,Mugil cephalus IRI%=14.0%).Our findings suggest a dietary shift in recent years,from primarily demersal(as previously reported)to greater intake of neritic and pelagic fish.Dolphin foraging group size has decreased in recent years,which corresponds with declining size and numbers of prey items retrieved from dolphin stomachs.We suggest that these are indicators of declining food resources.Faced with a shortage of preferred prey,humpback dolphins may have broadened their dietary spectrum to maintain their daily energy intake,while their foraging group size decreased in response to the altered tradeoff between the costs and benefits of group foraging.Wenzhi LIN Leszek KARCZMARSKI Ruilian ZHOU Yaqian MO Lang GUO Sam King Fung YIU Xi NING Tak-Cheung WAI Yuping WU 2021Integrative Zoology2021,16,4:0
19Development of Microbial Fermented Feed and Its Effect on the Production Performance of Holstein Cows显示文摘[Objectives]This study was conducted to investigate the development method of microbial fermented feed and its effect on the production performance of Holstein cows.[Methods]Thirty Holstein cows were selected and randomly divided into 2 groups,15 cows in each group.The diet composition of the experimental group was:concentrate supplement added with 30% microbial fermented feed+silage+alfalfa hay,and the diet composition of the control group was:concentrate supplement added with 30% flax cake+silage+alfalfa hay.The experimental period was 60 d.[Results]Compared with the control group,the experimental group increased the average daily milk yield per cow by 2.25%(P>0.05)and the total increase in average milk yield per cow in the experimental period by 43.51%(P<0.01),and reduced the average feed-to-milk ratio by 9.20%(P<0.05).The average gross profit per cow of the experimental group was 40.34 yuan higher than that of the control group,showing an increase of 3.53% in the economic benefit.[Conclusions]Feeding a diet supplemented with the microbial fermented feed could improve the efficiency of Holstein cow farming and is recommended to be promoted.Yuping YAN Junguo LI Guosheng XIN Jianming RUAN Li LI Jianning DING Ning'an MEI Zixin LIU 2020Agricultural Biotechnology2020,9,4:0
20Frequent germplasm exchanges drive the high genetic diversity of Chinese-cultivated common apricot germplasm显示文摘The genetic diversity of germplasm is critical for exploring genetic and phenotypic resources and has important implications for crop-breeding sustainability and improvement.However,little is known about the factors that shape and maintain genetic diversity.Here,we assembled a high-quality chromosome-level reference of the Chinese common apricot‘Yinxiangbai’,and we resequenced 180 apricot accessions that cover four major ecogeographical groups in China and other accessions from occidental countries.We concluded that Chinese-cultivated common apricot germplasms possessed much higher genetic diversity than those cultivated in Western countries.We also detected seven migration events among different apricot groups,where 27%of the genome was identified as being introgressed.Remarkably,we demonstrated that these introgressed regions drove the current high level of germplasm diversity in Chinese-cultivated common apricots by introducing different genes related to distinct phenotypes from different cultivated groups.Our results highlight the consideration that introgressed regions may provide an important reservoir of genetic resources that can be used to sustain modern breeding programs.Qiuping Zhang Diyang Zhang Kang Yu Jingjing Ji Ning Liu Yuping Zhang Ming Xu Yu-Jun Zhang Xiaoxue Ma Shuo Liu Wei-Hong Sun Xia Yu Wenqi Hu Si-Ren Lan Zhong-Jian Liu Weisheng Liu 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:0
